People talk about new Ganondord’s motives being vague or unstated but like…it’s pretty simple?
Dud’s a Warring States style samurai who believes in pure strength of arms and raw power; that people should actively strive for conflict and war.
He doesn’t hate the Zonai for being in charge, he hates that they took over using weak sauce tactics like “clean food and water” and “free healthcare” and “a lack of war and monster attacks”. He’d have more respect for them if they HAD taken over through fire and war.
His thing about “darkness should rule” isn’t about “I’m evil neener neener”. It’s about how the light is filled with “peace loving cowards”. Darkness is war and strife and all the things he thinks makes people stronger, while light is cooperation and friendship and shit.

For some positive takes on Totk
Ganondorf’s design is just amazing. I kinda miss the Trident he has had for years, but damn, they just went hardcore on his design. It’s probably my favorite Ganondorf design of the bunch.
The final fight with Ganondord was mechanically pretty fun. I liked the permanent loss of hearts. It kinda offsets the healing issue botw/totk has. And his flurry rush is so damn cool.
The Horned Statue is freaking hilarious. It trying to make deals with a fish is funny imagery.
The Bargainer Statues are fun lore additions which I appreciate. I keep calling them Poe Collectors, though.
I really liked the Temple of Time in the sky is actually a temple that keeps track of time, like a big clock that tells everyone when to wake and when to sleep. It makes sense, honestly. Like yeah, a Temple of Time would do that.
The Japanese/Mayan? blend of the Zonai makes for a very interesting, unique culture for this new race. It’s striking and distinct. I prefer it over the Sheikah tech.
While I think the dungeon itself was very weak, the Wind Temple concept is amazing. The idea of an ark in the sky is very reminiscent of ancient Japanese lore, and reminds me of Okami’s ark in the end-game. The lead-up was also pretty great overall. The final leap into the air is something I will remember for a long time.
The beginning of the Thunder Temple is also so good. The atmosphere! The descent into a dank dungeon! I wish it was a better dungeon, but to me, it was the best dungeon in the game.
Tauro (I think that his name?) is very endearing. I can’t explain it. I think his goofy design and child-like joy over his research just puts a smile on my face. He just seems so genuine.
I really liked the regional phenomenon for the Gorons and the Zora. For one, they are both unique ideas to the series. The Zora usually face freezing as their threat, but sludge is a new idea and it works really well. As for the Gorons, it was genuinely off putting and I liked that.
You all are too hard on Sidon’s ability. It’s great! Boosts Zora weapons on the fly, gives you a water attack AND a temp shield? It’s more technical than Tulin’s, sure, but once you learn all the little secrets, Sidon’s ability goes really far.
I gotta say, I like Link’s design. I still prefer my green-cladded, left-handed Peter Pan Link, but they truly found a great design for this Link too. It’s distinct, cool, and flexible with other looks.
The story had some really great ideas in it. I always enjoy seeing eras without a hero. There is potential in those stories. The imagery of Link trying to catch Zelda at the start, and him finally catching her in the end, was great. Ganondorf already knowing them before the start of the adventure gets your heart pumping. Like man, what an entrance for the main bad guy.
Master Kohga remains the best character in these games. I didn’t love him in BotW, but AoC changed my mind, and Totk cemented it. In fact, I love the glow-up the Yiga Clan gets overall. They are funny and interesting. I kinda wish they did just a little more with them, because each interaction was an enjoyable one in this game.

How did Midna's Helmet get back to Hyrule? (You find it in DLC chest, but we'll assume DLC is cannon). So Midna's (and Zant's?) Helmet somehow got back to Hyrule, was picked up by the Crown, and the stolen by the bandit Misko. And why does it have Guardian Resist? I'm open to both original helmet and copy helmet interpretations.
*cracks knuckles* SO YOU'VE DECIDED TO OPEN THIS PARTICULAR CAN OF WORMS HAVE YOU??
I'm VERY glad you asked!
If we can all remember back to Twilight Princess, phase 3 of Ganondorf's 4 phase battle, you'll remember that Link watched Ganondorf crush Midna's helmet and leave it to lie in pieces in Hyrule Field. It was never explored any further what happened to her helmet, if anything, during the final battle between Link and Ganondorf.
We saw Midna leave with no helmet in hand, suggesting she no longer needed it now that she was returned to normal. That means it was still lying in Hyrule field when Zelda and Link returned.
I dont see Link holding onto it with how upset he was watching Midna leave, but I also dont see Zelda leaving it there to he forgotten. I believe she picked up its pieces, since the main portion of it remained intact and it was just the upper parts that broke away, and fixed it to the best of her abilities. Zelda most likely kept the ancient artifact as to preserve Midna's place in history for everything that she did to save Hyrule alongside Link.
And since she was preserving it, that means it must have stayed with the royal family for generations to come until the era of the wilds, when it was stolen from the crown by the great bandit Misko.
As for its Guardian Resist, it's already canonical botw lore that the only things effective against the guardians are ancient. And what could possibly offer better protection than a helmet older than the guardians themselves? Not to mention that it's made by Twilians, whose ancestors were banished to the twilight realm for being powerful with magic. Perhaps that too plays a part in being guardian resistant.
As for Zant's helmet, little is known about what happens to him after the second battle other than what we see at Ganondorf's death cutscene, where it can be assumed that Zant was for real deal this time. It also could have been interpreted as the following: the Zant we had been fighting the whole game, was only Ganondord piloting his body as a marionette. We already know this I'd possible from what he did with Zelda, and who exactly is to say that when Zant first met Ganondorf's evil spirit this "ancient power" he gave to Zant wasnt just his way of getting Zant to open himself up as a vessel?
Either way, we don't really know what happened to Zant once he was killed. It's very possible the Helmet went down with him, which makes more sense when you compare it to what I said above about Midna's helmet. Zant's gives you cold resistance in botw, which doesnt make any sense when held against Midna's, since both are Twilian made relics except... Zant's must not be authentic. I believe that if that were Zant's real helmet, it too would offer guardian resistance since it would have been an ancient relic older than the guardians as well.
And even if it was authentic, premium grade A usurper twilight king helmet, it doesnt make any sense for it to offer cold protection. There's nothing in Twilight Princess that can really tie into that, as Zant mostly appears in the desert, the light spirit's cave, and the Twilight realm. None of these places are exactly cold in climate, though one could argue we dont know what the Twilight realm feels like. But we would see Link's breath if it was cold, like we can up in Yeto's house.
So maybe in Botw Zant's helmet was just a replica made to remind Hyrule of the Usurper king who threatened two realms during the era of Twilight. And perhaps it offers cold resistance because of the materials it was made out of to look as real as possible. No one can be certain though, because Zant was done dirty and we never got to see more of him.

Termina ganondorf is a wise old man, eager to teach young adventurers magic (and horseback riding) but he has long given up the sword, when link came to termina to stop the moon crashing down, this version of ganondord tried to track down and help him, but in 3 days link had saved the world without his help. This versions name? Doriyah, (pronounced Door-Eye-Yah!) And if he encountered link hed be a bit of a mentor, like the skeleton guy in twilight princess (who is actually another link)
aaaaAAAAAA this is great!!!!!

Ahhhh man I’m watching a video picking apart the Zelda reveal to speculate on what it might be about and he just speculated that the spooky corpse thing is Ganon’s body which was trapped when his soul escaped the reincarnation cycle to become Calamity Ganon and
I know this isn’t likely but what if. A main quest about saving Ganondord from Demise’s influence and redeeming him

Link, Zelda, Ganondord, Cia , Midna
Marry, Fuck, Kiss, Cuddle, Get Drunk Meme
“Marry Midna because she is one of the few people that might truly understand me, Fuck Cia because let’s just say she made four of me for more than just combat~...well we all know how insatiable her lusts are-and honestly I would happily marry her as well given the option... though her obsession with Link in general might make things stressful and I don’t know how Midna would feel about sharing me. I guess I could bring myself to kiss Zelda though she has always been too uptight for my taste. I’d cuddle my wolf twin if only to give Midna a break from that needy pup once in awhile. And I could go drink with the demon lord, bet he would be able to out drink me though.”
