kabedoning some of the HQ boys. (kenma, atsumu, osamu, sakusa, akaashi, bokuto, iwaizumi, suna, and ushijima.)
content: (🦷) tooth-rotting fluff, sorta crack, annoyingly charming akaashi, and just regular annoying atsumu, osamu feeds you a mochi, short komori appearance, cute petnames.
⚠ warning/s: none.
Tumblr media
KENMA KOZUME
he's shocked and blushing he's so cute what
"y/n..?" he mumbles
silence
"..did you want to play?" he hands you his gameboy
no, you wanted a kiss.
because of this unfortunate situation, there's a small pout on your lips
kenma notices this and quickly gives you a peck (・ω・*)
"you know, you could've just said you wanted a kiss." he states as-a-matter-of-factly
you knew that!!! you just wanted to have some fun lol
ATSUMU MIYA
he almost chokes on the air he inhaled too quickly from mere shock
it sadly takes him a millisecond to recover, though
aaand his flirty front is back
"what's this about, pretty? you got a crush on me or somethin'?" he says teasingly, twirling a stray piece of your hair
sidenote: you've been dating for almost a year now.
because of that smug little look on his face, your hand just, oh, so, happened to slip
but it landing across his cheek was definitely not on purpose!!
..lol
suna has this all recorded in HD quality
OSAMU MIYA
he's not fazed
at least he looks like he isn't
his heart is actually beating 250bpm
"open, honey." you quirk your brow at his sudden command, but you go and do as he says
then the boy shoves a small piece of strawberry mochi in your mouth.
darn it, and it's your favorite flavor, too..
(💢 __ __)。。。
once your arms are slowly lowered from the wall due to the pure delight of the mochi's taste, osamu pinches your puffed up cheeks
"yummy?" he asks. you nod, bringing up your pointer finger, asking for one more
he finds you so adorable 😔
SAKUSA KIYOOMI
i lubs sakusa kiyoomi 😔
he doesn't understand why people are getting so worked up over the silly kabedon trend in his school
until it happened to him, that is.
from the shock of it all: the loud slap against the wall, you pining him, and your serious (yet cute) face, he gets hiccups.
HICCUPS.
"what do *hic* you think you're doing..?"
YOUR HEART PHYSICALLY MELTS 😭😭
"nice kill, y/n!" komori's voice is faintly heard from behind you
you let the poor man go as he tries to calm himself down
AKAASHI KEIJI
he's the only one that's actually not fazed
sure, his face is kinda red, but like
"darling?" he says
MFMSFKDNFKANS DARLING??
"y- yes?" you stuttered. stay here while i prepare your grave.
he softly smiles at you before patting your head, "nothing."
now you're stomping away like an angry goblin, muttering about how annoyingly charming your boyfriend is
once you're out of sight, he covers his warm face with a palm
"what are you doing to me, y/n..?" he feels his heart beating against his ribcage
BOKUTO KŌTARŌ
he sees you approaching rapidly and thinks literally nothing of it
that's how much he trusts you 😔
"hey, little owl—! woah there!" he was interrupted by the sudden pin against the wall
he looks left and right
up and down
"were you being chased by someone?" he asks, dumbfounded
you have no words to say from his.. assessment.
so you just kiss him on the cheek with a sweet "mwuah!" sound, and walk away
he was confused, but hey, he got a free kiss from you!!
IWAIZUMI HAJIME
he's familiar with shōjo mangas because oikawa's fans always talk about them
so he knows this kind of scene you're playing.
before you get the chance to pin him, he beats you to it
AND HE'S TOO STRONG FOR YOU TO EVEN RETALIATEJDKSNDKN
"hey." he greets
HIS LITTLE SMIRK. PUNCH HIM. PUNCH HIM I SAY!!!!!
"..hi." you greet back with a shy smile
"how was your day, princess?" he asks
"it was great! i actually got a few leftover treats from the cooking club." you replied
you both kinda just conversed normally, soon forgetting about the position you were in
only did you remember when oikawa walked into the classroom 😭
SUNA RINTARŌ
like iwaizumi, he beats you to it
BOOO CORNY UNORIGINAL TOMATO TOMATO
he doesn't say anything though
he just.. stares at you
but he does take a mental note of how pretty your eyes are
after a minute of silence, his arms drop to hug your waist as he rests his head in the crook of your shoulder
"that was cute." he says, chuckling a bit
how's he gonna say the most heart-racing things with the lamest bangs ever >:(
you weakly punch his side in reply as he scoffs
USHIJIMA WAKATOSHI
the stoic of stoicest
that's not even a word but ygwim
you pin him against the wall, and he stands there idly
he never really knew the concept behind kabedons
"hm? do you need something, y/n?" he asks in a gentle tone
"you." you reply, "just you."
"alright." he hugs you
just when you thought you had no effect on him, his ears turn red from the corner of your eye, and you can hear his heart pounding loudly in his chest RAAAHHGHHFFHH
you smile warmly in content

Feelings on Minish Cap?
Minish cap is a stellar game. Very much underappreciated and my top wish for what should get remade in HD. The soundtrack is marvelous and I wish I could listen to it all day but the ~bits~ of the good old gameboy just don't work well with my migraine prone head. I truly hope newer fans get to experience the game in all it's glory sooner than later and it get the attention it deserves!!
I think Minish cap has a very unique identity. It has a lot of familiar things yet many totally new and unexpected sights! It almost feels like a fan game, but in like the best way possible. It's got that indie pixel vibe of something made with love.
...asfjggsjkf sorry this is another love letter ramble. Minish cap has a special place in my heart. It was the first Zelda game I ever played, although at the time I didn't know any english and would just run around the few areas that are open before the first dungeon, and I'd slap grass for fun. I was easy to entertain back then.
Years later I found my old gameboy colour and finally actually played the game. It's a real solid entry in the top-down zelda game world, although it could be just a LITTLE bit tighter in gameplay. Link's awakening and Oracle of Ages just really keep you on the move in a way modern games don't seem to.
Also Minish cap just has the most iconic official art in the franchise.
Basically Minish cap to me is an image of childhood. We're currently in an era for the franchise that's openly pointing out the horror of it's lore. I think it's high time we remember the joy and whimsy of the series too. The games that bring back that feeling of being a kid in the backyard playing heroes! The hero trope exists as a tragedy, but also to inspire us.
PS. to clarify I think the game is incredibly solid as it exists right now and the reason I want it remade is not because the current version needs an overhaul, but because I know a remake would give more people easier access to a game that's marvelous and also I'd cry. If you have a way to play it right now like... Do it, yo. No need to wait for an imaginary product I invented in my brain.

Where to play every main series The Legend of Zelda game (ordered chronologically)
NOTE: when I mention the virtual console for the early games (NES, SNES, GB) it applies to basically every virtual console from Nintendo, not just the Switch. However, many virtual consoles have been discontinued such as the Wii. These are also just off the top of my head and besides a few exceptions are all on Nintendo consoles. I am not as familiar with emulation so I did not include many of those
The original console is listed in parenthesis next to the title which is always another way to play the game if you manage to find a copy, aka you can play ocarina of time on the n64 you just won’t have save states. HD remasters are within the same title since there’s minor changes, complete remakes get their own bullet points since they are a different experience from the original game and include major changes
The Legend of Zelda (NES) - Game and Watch mini console, Nintendo switch online NES virtual console (includes save states, special version also available which starts you with all upgrades and items)
Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link (NES) - Game and Watch mini console, Nintendo switch online NES virtual console (includes save states, special version also available which starts you with all upgrades and items), Hoverbat’s fan remake for PC (includes quality of life changes but keeps the essence and style for the original game)
A Link to the Past (SNES) - Nintendo Switch online SNES virtual console (includes save states), also rereleased on the Gameboy Advance as a bundled game with Four Swords
Link’s Awakening (Gameboy) - rereleased on the Gameboy Color as Link’s Awakening DX (aka the game now has color), Nintendo Switch online gameboy virtual console (includes save states, I believe you can only play DX)
Link’s Awakening HD (Switch) - released in 2019 for the Switch, a complete remake of the original game and has many quality of life changes including an art style update
Ocarina of Time (N64) - requires Nintendo switch online PRO account to play the N64 virtual console (not the regular online membership), was also rereleased on the GameCube twice (one copy includes master edition the other copy includes majora’s mask and the wind waker demo, if you grab a copy you can play it on the Wii as well)
Ocarina of Time 3D (3DS) - A remake of Ocarina of Time for the 3DS, only available on the 3DS
Majora’s Mask (N64) - requires Nintendo switch online PRO account to play the N64 virtual console (not the regular online membership), was also rereleased on the GameCube as a bundle with Ocarina of time (if you grab a copy you can play it on the Wii as well)
Majora’s Mask 3D (3DS) - A remake of Majora’s Mask, only available on the 3DS, I heard the mechanical changes to the game make it a little clunky
Oracle of Seasons (Gameboy Color) - dual release game with Oracle of Ages and can link both games data to unlock a special ending where you fight Ganon and Twinrova, I personally bought this on sale on the 3DS shop before it closed, also on the Gameboy color virtual console for Nintendo Switch Online (includes save states) - PLAY ORDER WITH OOA DOES NOT MATTER
Oracle of Ages (Gameboy Color) - dual release game with Oracle of Seasons and can link both games data to unlock a special ending where you fight Ganon and Twinrova, I personally bought this on sale on the 3DS shop before it closed, also on the Gameboy color virtual console for Nintendo Switch Online (includes save states) - PLAY ORDER WITH OOS DOES NOT MATTER
Four Swords (Gameboy Advance) - multiplayer game, virtually impossible to play today unless you and 3 other friends all have a copy of the original game, 4 GBAs, and linking cables - just watch a playthrough online (although I got headaches from watching playthroughs so brace yourself for a lot of screaming)
The Wind Waker (GameCube) - If you’re able to get your hands on a GameCube and copy I highly recommend it, a remastered HD version was released on the WiiU that included graphical changes as well as major item/discovery changes, can also emulate on Dolphin but the game will completely crash if you use the Pictobox so not recommended if you look to 100% the game (can also link you GBA to the GameCube version to use for the Tingle Tuner mini game)
Four Sword Adventures (GameCube and GBA) - multiplayer game, also virtually impossible to play today unless you have 3 other friends and a GameCube and a copy of the game, I believe you can link you GBA to the game and use that as a controller but I’m not 100% if that’s a requirement or not, I recommend just watching a playthrough but again there seems to be a yelling problem with this game
The Minish Cap (Gameboy Advanced) - I bought a knockoff copy for my GBA on Etsy for like $15 that worked beautifully (just don’t let your gba die while playing the game or else it’ll erase all your data), you can also play on the Nintendo Switch PRO gameboy advance virtual console (with save states)
Twilight Princess (GameCube) - was originally released on GameCube but was rereleased on Wii with I believe motion controls, the Wii version also completely flips the map and Link’s model to fit with right hand motion controls so the game not completely canon (such as TP Link is canonically left handed, not right) , was rereleased as an HD version on WiiU which includes graphical updates
Phantom Hourglass (DS) - requires stylus to play, need physical copy to play but can be played on DS or 3DS
Spirit Tracks (DS) - requires stylus to play, need physical copy to play but can be played on DS or 3DS
Skyward Sword (Wii) - Motion controls are required from my understanding of the Wii version, the HD version released on the Switch makes motion controls optional and has graphical updates (imo the controls are still horrendous on switch)
A Link Between Worlds (3DS) - currently only playable on 3DS
Triforce Heroes (3DS) - meant for multiplayer but has a single player mode, currently only playable on 3DS
Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - rereleased on Switch
Tears of the Kingdom (Switch) - released last year so only on switch
If you want to watch playthroughs for some of the games I recommend Keith Ballard as he started playing the Zelda series for the first time 5 years ago and plays 1-2 games per year (he’s done every 3D game and a few of the 2D and spin off games)
Basically every spinoff game (aka all non canon games - Hyrule warriors, age of calamity, cadence of hyrule) are on the switch, my Nintendo Picross Twilight Princess edition is the only one that became impossible to play once the 3ds eshop closed
For the most part if you have a switch and a hacked 3ds you can play almost every Zelda game. For the wind waker and twilight princess i was able to find a GameCube and Wii copy of their respective games at a retro game store so I highly recommend searching locally. I believe I also got ALTTP gameboy, phantom hourglass, spirit tracks, triforce heroes, and a link between worlds all locally. I also found ocarina of time + the master quest GameCube version for like $50 at half priced books which was one of the biggest wins (i also found tp GameCube there too but it was $150 and didn’t want to pay that much)
If you’re completely new to Zelda I highly recommend with starting with Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask, I actually watched Keith Ballard play both of those games while recovering from surgery and started looking into how I could play all of the games myself. There’s also no shame in watching a playthrough as although Nintendo is good about porting their old games, they are behind so many paywalls. From there you can decide if you want to go through the 3D games (I recommend chronologically by release date) or the 2D games (The Minish Cap and A Link Between Worlds are REALLY good 2D games but I love basically every 2D game except the multiplayer games so I honestly recommend playing all of them fjdkslf) . DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE TIMELINE!!! Just play the games how you want bc the timeline does not matter at all and was shoehorned into the series after like most of the games were released so it’s like trying to fit puzzles pieces that don’t fit together

Yeah we need another Zelda game at sea made by the Wind Waker writers, but with GOOD GAMEPLAY so it doesn't get overhated.
I do think that Wind Waker HD fixed the biggest issue with Wind Waker's gameplay which was the long stretches of sailing with nothing to do. Most of Wind Waker's hate in the day was because of its visuals which is now funny in retrospect because it is so beloved these days (and Link is so expressive too!). (Okay hunting for the Triforce pieces was also frustrating but I had the *vomits a little* Tingle feature on my gameboy advance that made finding them a bit more efficient...) Anyways Wind Waker did leave room for improvement, and I mean with everything they've learned with BotW and TotK in terms of game mechanics I think we can really have a great seafaring adventure for LoZ.

I've played 6 worlds in Mario Vs Donkey Kong and I feel like I already am able to make a judgement call on it. The game has a very clear and unchanging formula involving blocks with primary colors and switches making them solid or pass-through.
I really enjoy it, I don't regret buying it, I look forward to finishing it, but it's astonishing how much of a huge downgrade it is from the Gameboy Donkey Kong in every conceivable way. The only thing I'll give it is graphics, and even that is a bit subjective.
I am excited to be experiencing the game for the first time, since I missed the GBA original, but this is really just making me double down on my stance that DK '94 should have been remade, not this. This should have been a bonus pack in with the remake of DK 94... I think the only reason they didn't is because it doesn't line up with their current vision for Donkey Kong. and it also contains Donkey Kong Junior... and sadly, I think Nintendo wants to keep the Minis relevant. I don't think we've seen the last of the Lemmings Clone style games...
which blows, because it really is kind of scratching an itch. Yeah it's not as good as the Game Boy game, not even close, but it's still a game in that style, but on a big HD screen with a modern look and sound. I would not be opposed to more games in this style... but I have my doubts the next theoretical "Mario Vs Donkey Kong" game will be anything other than more Lemmings clones... hopefully i'm wrong, but also, hopefully the worst case scenario for Donkey Kong isn't true, and Donkey Kong is just going to keep going back to his roots as an antagonist to Mario in arcade throwbacks... More games in that style would be amazing, but not at the cost of Donkey Kong Country. If you asked me to choose between arcade DK or protagonist of platformers DK, it's gonna be Rare/Retro Studio's DK any day of the week.

Nintendo Direct For 9/14/2023
So, there was a Nintendo Direct on 9/14/2023 and I just want to talk about it a little bit here. Now, please keep in mind that this is all just MY OPINION on the direct and that will probably differ from yours and that is perfectly okay.
My thing with Nintendo Directs as of late is that while they are 40-45 minutes long, really only 10-15 minutes of it is spent on actual first party Nintendo games and I feel like that needs to change. But, here are the first party Nintendo games and DLC mentioned in this direct.
Splatoon 3 Side Order DLC: I don't play Splatoon at all so I don't really care about this.
Mario VS Donkey: This is actually a remake of the game of the same title from the Gameboy Advance. Couldn't care less about this.
Super Mario RPG: A remake of the 1996 game Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Couldn't care less about this one.
Princess Peach: Showtime: I won't be buying this one but at least it isn't a remake of an already existing game.
Detective Pikachu Returns: This is the only game from this ENTIRE direct that I care about and I already knew about it ahead of watching the direct. Will definitely be buying this.
Luigi's Mansion 2 HD: An HD remake of the game of the same name on the Nintendo 3DS. Pass.
WarioWare: Move It: I don't care in the slightest for WarioWare game but, again, at least it isn't another remake.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 6: All they talked about was the additional characters that will be in it with zero mention of what new tracks will be in it. I have this DLC so I'll obviously be getting it.
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door: Oh look, ANOTHER FUCKING REMAKE of a game of the same name from the GameCube.
So out of the seven first party Nintendo games that were mentioned in the direct, four of them are remakes and that makes this direct, in my opinion, much worse than previous ones when I, again, say that the first party games really only took up like, at most, 15 minutes of the whole 42 minute direct. Don't believe me? Here's ALL the other games talked about in this direct:
Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown
Horizon Chase 2
Super Crazy Rhythm Castle
Spy X Anya: Operation Memories
Another Code-Recollection
SaGa Emerald Beyond
Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered
Trombone Champ
Battle Crush
Wartales
Contra: Operation Galuga
Unicorn Overlord
Bandle Tale: A League Of Legends Story
Song Of Nunu: A League Of Legends Story
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
Eastward: Octopia
Wargroove 2
Dave The Diver
Among Us
Do you see what I mean now? That is a total of 19 3rd party games versus the seven first part games mentioned in this direct. The only game I do plan on getting is Detective Pikachu Returns and that is it. I don't care about the other remakes and I don't care about the millions of stupid JRPG games and 3rd party games releasing on Switch that are already on every other console and PC. Again, this is just my feelings about the recent Nintendo Direct.

Games I've been playing (Feb/Mar)
I may have gotten bad at this. Been watching some stuff like The Office, The Last Of Us, but haven't finished anything. Been playing multiple games without really finishing anything. A few more than others though:
Game Complete #3: Kirby's Dream Land. Doesn't really deserve its own post since it's just like 30 minutes long. Been playing it thanks to the GameBoy app on Switch, same as ...
Wario Land 3. I've been playing this for probably 5-6 hours or so, and it's still not done. It's a great game and I wish Nintendo still did games like these. I've been enjoying Wario Land more than Mario as a teen for the exact same reasons. It's not just going from left to right, but actually looking for things inside these levels. Some clever puzzles that do not even feel like puzzles. Great game.
Metroid Prime Remastered. Was so hyped for this, but then I have barely played it yet. What I have played is great though, just feel like I need more focus/energy for this.
Soul Hackers 2. Happy when it was announced for Game Pass. I've played a couple of hours and am both intrigued and a bit disappointed. Kinda want to continue but also kinda not. Love the Y2K vibes.
Atomic Heart. Game Pass launch. Great game so far, stopped when Prime released. Need to get back playing.
Ratchet & Clank. Sony offered a special deal for a month of Plus, so of course I've got the tier that includes retro games. Been trying a few classic games before eventually sticking with this one through streaming (PS3 HD Collection), but at a point right now where some of the encounters are actually becoming difficult. Maybe I just need to try some others weapons.
Rayman 3 HD. Speaking of platformers, this was on sale on Xbox and of course I've got this. It plays like a charm for something that's also essentially a PS2 game. Hope there will be a Rayman 4 soon.
