Things I'll never understand

Why is it that every strong, kind hearted, selfless, gentle person I know ends up with terminal cancer? Why is it that cancer is such a common thing now? Why are all the people I love being ripped away from me by something that absolutely cannot be controlled much less stopped? Why is the women that's been like a second mother to me slowly deteriorating..? Why does god put people through this kind of pain? I have all these questions and no answers. I have so many unknowns that the things I know are real are even starting to seem fake. But there are few truths in my life that I can't deny right now. The women I've looked at like a second mother is slowly deteriorating from stage 4 cancer, the women I've looked to when all my clouds were grey to be my sunshine was slowly dying but now it's going so much faster. You never know what heartbreak is until someone you've looked at like a mother no longer has her spark. When the most fun loving easy going women you've ever met is being taken away from you so quickly and you're on the other side of the country how are you supposed to cope? How am I supposed to get used to not having her around? To walking into a house that we painted sunshine yellow just to make her happy? How am I supposed to act like losing her isn't going to kill me? I am so lost and scared and don't know what to do right now. And god all I want to do is get on a plane and go home to my friends and my family and hold her so close and let her know that's it's okay for her to go home. I don't want her to suffer anymore, I don't want someone I love to be in so much pain. Fuck cancer and everything that it is. Fuck all the doctors that said she was in remission. Fuck the doctor that told her she should have given up years ago. Fuck everyone that didn't think she could fight this long. But most importantly fuck the fact that I have to lose my groovy gal to this fucked up disease. Fuck cancer. I can't say that enough...

Health Update

Some of you may have seen or heard from the Facebook, but my MRI on Friday showed no Change, again, meaning, not only no growth, but also no improvement, and this is after a year and a half of chemo. The neuro-oncologist is out of ideas, he just apparently wants to continue chemo indefinitely, but he HAS to discontinue one of the drugs I've been on, so I'll be going back to one drug, there will be fewer side effects, but little hope of any improvement. he's just, apparently, hoping to prolong the agony, in the hope something new comes up, which is ridiculous, since, I've brought him about half a dozen articles on new therapies and discoveries, and all he ever says is "we don't do that here".I think I'm going to take up smoking tha herbage (again). The Universidad Complutense de Madrid/Spain has published like 5 studies PROVING that the cheeba kills brain cancer, but stodgy old Yale/Smilow won't even consider it (Too Controversial).
