Ah, so with the novel it's actually not much of a problem, but the thing is that the webtoon adaptation and official art has a tendency to make the protags whiter than paper and the webtoon in particular, when I was posting about this more, had so far like only given villains darker skin tones. This honestly happens all the time in east asian media, but the reason I'm particularly peeved about it with ORV is that I distinctly remembered Yoo Joonghyuk being described as both the most beautiful man in the world and also a man with tan skin and black eyes, which felt really important to me personally bc I grew up Asian American and had to unlearn those things being equated w/ ugliness/plainness by both colorism and racism lmao.

ALRIGHT! Early Access Dream guardian thoughts

Okay just finished watching a video that went over all dialouge options for the dreams you would of have in Early access and let me tell you

I'm almost certain Ruiz would have been characterized much differently if this version made it to the final game.

As in, I have a feeling they would of been closer to their OG counterpart. Since, well, Ruiz doesn't exactly do romance or seduction. So I think the DG's manipulation would have quickly pissed them off.

Especially first playing, while I tried to lean into my OC's more... unpleasant traits, uh the want to do good things prevailed which is what is now TAV! Ruiz. So,

If the DG had stay like this in the final version;

Intial playthrough: I almost guarantee you, Ruiz would not have been friendly with it. Rather or not they killed the DG or just got up and walked away I'm not sure, but definitely would not have fucked around with it.

Current interation of Ruiz; If I had their specific backstory down (I.E their dream guardian takes the form of their finance who has recently passed) then I could maybe imagine them being more open to it, but I do think there would be some resistance, especially since that isn't really their mo, and Tobias certainly wasn't this... open about his flirtation?

And fun little bonus;

While I could not imagine Ruiz in the position of the Dream Guardian in this iteration, when I first started playing the game I had tossed the idea around in my head that Tobias would have been better to have been my TAV. So-

I do not think Tobias would be on the DG's side, especially if it took the form of Ruiz because the illusion would not have worked in the first place!

Anyway, It was interesting to see the Dream Guardian in its original incarnation, however I'm glad they went with the current one we have now because Idk, it kind of made me... nauseous? Like I didn't like it, it made me uncomfortable lmao. Maybe because of the vast contrast, but I could not see myself even entertaining using the tadpoles or using the ilithid powers.

Also because the first interaction you have, If that had happen my first place through as Ruiz I would have been such a hater lmao. Like would have been cheering for Ruiz to murder it somehow lol.

So my game is fucked up after I tried to do everything to solve it lol I have to re install the game and hope for the best. I did some savings but sadly I forgot to save some of my lots and sims which I spend a lot doing cause they’re pretty big lots and very detail sims lol I’m honestly so damn sad but there’s nothing I can do at this point, I guess this is a life lesson for me to ALWAYS save every single lot and sim I made even if they aren’t finished 😭😭
