Norsery Rhymes from A to Z Happy Thorsday - Frigabis
Happy Thorsday - Alaisiagae Well here we are another Thor’s Day and another 20 min sketch of a Norse (and Germanic, Celtic) mythological characters.
This weeks it’s Friagabis / Fimmilena of the Alaisiagae. One half of the Celtic / Roman British / Germanic Frusian Goddesses of Law and Justice, named along Hadrian’s Wall.  Of the Duabus Alaisiabis, The Most Venerated Ones. The All Victorious. The Dispatching of Terrors. Related to Gatherings of Law.
Baudihilla / Beda’s Pre-Celtic name literally means ‘to sentence’ which could be speaking of the her function as the patron of judgements in the place to voice and end grievances. The Thing.
She is mentioned with Beda / Baudihilla “to bury”, and Thingus, representational of the Thing, a Germanic legislative and judiciary assembly. Thingus was also considered a War God, thought to represent Mars and his judgement.
Looking here a little different than when I drew the Alaisiagae together last time: https://jeffreystewart.tumblr.com/post/154807181254/happy-thorsday-alaisiagae-well-here-we-are
