Would anybody be interested in me translating the lore and instructions for Kotobukiya's Frame Arms series of model kits (the mecha, not the mecha musume) qnd posting it here? I've been doing so on my downtime and it's pretty interesting stuff. This information doesn't seem widely accessible in the west due to the line being kind of obscure.
I was able to find a rough series timeline on Reddit, but these would be more 1 to 1 translations of the actual material.
I'd be translating partially by machine, but I know enough Japanese to potentially make some corrections. I've been able to parse about 98% of the information from most of the manual scans I've found and figured I may as well clean it up and archive it if people are interested, since this is frankly kind of a time intensive process for someone who might be just mildly curious, and I figured I may as well make it more approachable.

So, this is Bandai’s 30 Minute Sisters Laranel kit. I just...I just don’t get it. I don’t get why I did it. Well, no, I know why I did and that’s because I wanted to see what Bandai could do compared to the Frame Arms Girls kits that I have one of and so that is why I did it.
Let me start with the obvious and say that this kit is actually very small. Like, I purposefully took my pics the way I did but yeah, it’s really small. Another thing is that Bandai puts this under the 30 Minute line and like no, there’s no way you’re building this kit in 30 minutes or less.
Now, one of the big points I want to make is that this kit is $30. And what do you get for that? A very small and very thin kit that doesn’t look like it’s worth $30. There has to be something about it that makes worth the price? I suppose if you count the fact that there ware WAY too many left over parts, then sure. Yes, out of all the runners, I believe only one runner do you use all the parts of. This is something that is starting to bug me because, yes, I get that Bandai wants the 30 Minute Missions and 30 Minute Sisters kits to be highly customizable and they are but that’s why they release all those add on packs for them. This kit doesn’t need this many left over parts and if they took them out you could easily price for way less. Like you don’t have to include the parts that can be combined with this kits sister kit, the Lirinel as you could just sell those parts separately. If you’re going to give me anymore parts beyond extra face and hand options, at least give me a small base like the Frame Arms Girl kits do.
Overall, I will not be buying another one of these kinds of kits as I would rather buy a regular 30 Minute Missions kit. That is also something too regarding the price is that a 30 Minute Missions kit is around $15-20 so why on Earth do these 30 Minute Sisters kits deserve to be almost double the price??? Anyway, I am not going to buy another one of these kits and I really personally can’t recommend anyone do. Of course, if you do like these kits then more power to you, I just don’t think they’re worth $30. Yeah, I know that Frame Arms and Frame Arms Girls kits are like between $30-$90 but those kits are at least worth the asking price in my mind.

I decided to branch out and try a non Bandai kit. From kotobukiya's Frame Arms line, it's the Type Hector Joyeuse!
Its my first 1/100 scale, and the box for it was huge! (Zaku box included for scale)
Pretty easy kit to put together. The pieces were a little tighter than the Bandai kits I've done, but I only really had to cram for a couple parts. Here's the photoshoot:
Neutral front and side:
Ready for battle:
Full bombardment mode:
Win pose:
Classic Guncannon pose:
I think the kit looks really cool, although I wish there was some more red in there to break up the grey. The one really big downside to this kit was posing the arms. The shoulder joints are pegs, not balls, so the arms kept popping off with the slightest movement. I was tempted to just glue them in at one point. Bit of a nit-pick but it really drove me nuts haha. Overall cool kit though. Now I just have to find a shelf it will fit on.
