Trying to sleep but there's a fox outside moving about loudly. Maybe two foxes. It's half soft trilling and half demonic screeching. Just a tad creepy, and if I didn't know those were fox noises I'd be terrified rn 🤣

Taking a nap, using Tighnari's fluffy soft tail as a pillow/something to hug because he's busy with ✨️paperwork✨️-- only you take the opportunity to abuse the privilege, combing your fingers theough his fur and slowly working your way up to the base.
the first time that he tells you to be careful, his tone is mild - forest-toned eyes turning from his cramped little notes to look at you, and give you a small smile when he sees how you've curled around his tail with your cheek on the soft fluff. he warns you that he's sensitive, but you're so adorable and half-asleep that he doesn't think you'll need more warning than that.
your gentle pets are nice, actually. he's vocalising low in his throat in pleasure without realising he's doing it, but that's okay too - when he's let go in the apst you've always reassured him that you think his gentle purrs are soothing, so obviously they'll be fine for you taking a nap! and he was expecting something like this; humans like repeated motion, and his tail is silky and nice to touch.
when you start going higher, though - he looks at you out of the corner of his eye with his breath caught in his throat. your eyes are closed. you're getting so, so close to the sensitive base. muscles in his thighs jump as a kind of familiar warmth spreads all through him - usually, when he gets like this, he has some way to work it off . . . but with you sleeping cuddled up to his tail and your gentle breathing, he can't do anything other than sit there.
he gives up concentrating on his paperwork - just stares at the desk and wills himself to be strong, because the way you're petting at the base now is kicking instinct into overdrive. he can smell you. you're not turned on, but there's still that same sweet musky scent of your slick that's always present, if a little subdued. he can hear your heartbeat, your gentle breathing, practically taste you on his tongue as he fights against the desire to salivating--
oh, and he's hard. obviously. he can feel his knot swelling to life, his cock flushed with blood, his fox instinct screaming 'look at how cute and vulnerable and takeable they are, pin them underneath you and breed them until they can't do anything other than babble your name'.
alas, his patrol logs will remain unfinished tonight. if you're kind, in the morning, you'll allow tighnari some time with your mouth or your hand or your cunt, because he's going to be awake and whiny and needy and - worst of all! - untouched, all night.

Saturday's Epic Bird Walk
On Saturday I went to small park/recreation area where I hadn't gone birding before, even though it's not far from my house at all.
There's a small artificial lake there, and bald eagles have been spotted there in the past few months. A few minutes after I arrived, a couple stopped to ask me if I'd seen the eagles, and I said I wasn't sure where to look, so they pointed me in the general direction but said they only saw them about once every couple weeks. I told them I didn't think I would be lucky enough to see a bald eagle on my first try.
I knew there was a trail circling the perimeter of the lake; people like to fish there. But I was surprised to find an upper trail on the west side of the park, which climbs a bit above the level of the water and is much less busy (that is, there are fewer people, but more wildlife!). I didn't even know it was there. I admired the wildflowers and enjoyed the birdsong, trying to spot the birds I was hearing. I noticed a turkey vulture soaring in the distance. Then I turned back in the direction I was walking and spotted, perched high up in a tall conifer ahead of me, an enormous bird. It was a bald eagle! Very exciting! I managed to get a couple decent photos of it. This was only my second sighting since using eBird, and my first ever in California.
Not long after that, as I proceeded on the trail, I heard some rustling in the underbrush, which I at first thought must be a bird or squirrel. But then the rustling seemed like it had to be coming from something a little larger. I was looking to try to identify where it was, when suddenly a fox ran across the trail and disappeared into the understory on the other side! I didn't even know we had foxes around here!
I later heard what Merlin claimed was a black-headed grosbeak! It took me a while to spot it, but it appeared to be a female/immature (all (terrible) photos in row 2). This was only my second time seeing this species, and my first time in California; the first time I saw it was actually on the same hike in Oregon where I saw bald eagles.
Other highlights, not all of which I managed to photograph, included a Steller's jay I could report as the coastal subspecies (top row, next to the bald eagle photo), some sort of domestic duck (row 3) which I admired but didn't bother to report, a green heron (bottom row), 2 Wilson's warblers (I don't see those very often), several black phoebes, an immature black-crowned night heron, double-crested cormorants, a killdeer, a band-tailed pigeon, and pied-billed grebes (one of which was vocalising a lot).
A few people stopped to ask me if I'd seen the eagle, so I was pleased to be able to say yes!

just rewatched the ritual for like the umpteenth time and all I can think about is how a call of duty au would play out :3
I gave myself a headache over how hard my little brain thought about this.
I love this concept, though!! Is it all 141 versus Moder? Or are we thinking that the mythological godlike being is (like most monster AU's) Ghost? 👀
I took it as 141 versus Moder.
It got kinda long, so 😅 sorry!!
The beginning would be hard to encapsulate because I can't see any of them following that line of thinking, so the fracture of their relationship would probably need to be something else. I think a series of bad calls would probably fracture their relationship, and it would begin as a team building exercise before they went after someone else. Or a much needed holiday. Can't see any of these guys sipping martini's on the Amalfi Coast, but a weekend in some desolate forest? Sure.
SAS are some of the most trained survivalists in any military fraction, so I'd imagine they'd pretty quickly adapt. (No one taking them by surprise.)
As things kinda spiralled, I don't think any of them would lose their cool.
They'd all make logical deductions for what was happening, despite the shadow lurking in the distance (trick the light) or the creepy sounds at night (have you heard a fox screaming?) until Moder just burst out like, are you serious?! You've litro made eye contact with me.
I think the most logical would probably be Gaz. He just seems to never lose his cool in any situation - even upside down on a helicopter - so I think he'd probably put the pieces together pretty quickly but actually convincing yourself that way you're seeing is true is another thing entirely. He would remain on the "this is what's happening and it defies science" fence, but he'd hold out until he could see the proof with his own eyes. He'd still prepare, though. I can't see him being shocked by the actual outcome. I think, in the privacy of his own head, he probably suspects this is the case, but! Who can just admit yeah, it's an ancient monster? He'd be the most collected amongst the group.
Soap would believe it the quickest and try to come up with ways to fight it. Once he past the hurdle of "nothing makes sense in earthly terms," he'd move over to "yep, monster." This isn't to say a part of him doesn't question his own eyes, but he would probably be the first to vocalise his thoughts on what's happening.
Price needs a Drink™. He ignores it to the end, but isn't entirely surprised by what he finds. He, like Gaz, puts the pieces together. They share Knowing™ looks, and immediately start categorising what type of animal they could be dealing with but if you look beneath their nonchalant surface, you can see them start to amass a weapons cache of everything - most notably: fire. Kindling. Leaves. Sticks. They save all the igniters they have, and quickly pool flammable resources.
Ghost would be pretty tricky. I don't think he'd let himself believe it because then that opens a whole different psychological beast (assuming what happened with Roba is canon, I can only imagine the mental turmoil this man would go through seeing something like that and being forced to believe in the supernatural. Oof. And also, my heart.) I think Ghost refuses to even partake in the discussion. He can't. I think this experience would probably break him the most, and leaving him with the most psychological damage as he grapples with his own experiences (believing he's been dead since Roba) and what he saw.
Godddd. This is so long 😅

Ziz nuzzled them both, making happy vocalisations as her tail thumped. After some time, she spoke, “What fox am I?” she was taking the change well or maybe it hadn’t sunk in all the way yet, but she was certainly curious.
"Well... you're not a silver or red fox." Ginko remarked touching her curly hair. She shifted looking around the room she hadn't entered since before her death, feeling a small ripple of unease. But she smiled for the benefit for both her younger siblings "But we should be able to to tell for sure when you shift."
"Outside might be best." Kuko murmured quietly, similarly touching her hair. "In the day light."

#1839 - Trichosurus vulpecula hypoleucus - Western Brushtail Possum
Tumblr media
“Furry-tailed Little Fox, White Underneath”
This unfortunate roadkill was out on one of the country roads east of Perth, between two small patches of remnant bushland. Probably an adolescent - younger ones stay with the mother, and older ones are generally more cautious about traffic.
Brushtail Possums are native to Australia (including Tasmania) and some  nearby islands, although they're a major pest in New Zealand, where they were introduced to provide a fur industry and on top of everything else are a host of bovine tuberculosis. They’re also a nuisance in suburban gardens, feasting on fruit trees, although their usual diet leans more towards eucalyptus leaves and anything they can catch.
They’re mostly nocturnal and come down to the ground more often than our other possums. There are six subspecies of the Common Brushtail, and colours may be silver-grey, brown, black, red, or cream. Although most will also have a reddish patch on the chest where the scent patch has stained the fur.
They vocalise with clicks, grunts, hisses, alarm chatters, guttural coughs, and screeching, which can be very annoying if they’re doing it in your roof.

Egyptian hieroglyphs, birth of language and FMP ideas
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The other side of this theme of symbolism I’m exploring is language. I love the relationship between symbols and language. It’s fascinating how as humans we have found ways to communicate. We essentially communicate through nothing but art. What are letters but small little drawings everyone understands and associates meaning to. The Egyptians certainly understood this.
Hieroglyphics are a far more basic idea of language. Hieroglyphics are characterized by a combination of pictorial and symbolic elements, with each symbol representing a specific object, concept, or sound. The system is complex, encompassing hundreds of individual symbols, including animals, plants, objects, and abstract ideas, each with its own distinct meaning. Some symbols are phonetic, representing sounds or syllables, while others are ideographic, representing entire words or concepts. Onto of this they’re coloured too, this is something modern words do not contain.
I love exploring the concept of the and birth of language and art, I suppose it would all begin with cave paintings. Simply drawing something you saw that day with the most basic of materials. Before knowing how to convey emotions, we’d use animals with similar tendencies to these emotions as a proxy. For example, if you’re trying to convey the emotion or feeling of sneaking around you may draw a picture of a snake, fox or spider. Similar to this, I’m truly fascinated by the idea of wanting to convey or express a feeling but not having the language available. I’m intrigued by how this would effect a population of people who don’t have a concept of the a feeling or emotion because it’s simply not a word in the language.
You don’t have to look any further than North Korea for an example of this. Yeonmi Park who escaped North Korea talks about how the dictatorship of North Korea removed the word “love” from the language and vocabulary of the people. This had the effect of making people feel more isolated, scared and compliant as they had no way to vocalise the feelings they had. It would seem despite feeling a certain way, if that thing you’re feeling doesn’t have a legitimate word,  you end up discrediting that feeling as it doesn’t seem legitimate. Despite the fact it is very real. As a population we must be very careful not to fall into this trap as it’s easily done. Just because someone tells you your feelings or thoughts are delusional or illegitimate, this doesn’t make it true.
For my FMP I would love to create an art piece that coveys this message. I’ve always loved creating emotive and thought provoking work. Its rather difficult to take such a large expansive topic such as this and distil that into a singular art piece. I must consider how this may be possible. Maybe a series of small pieces is how to do this. In previous projects I created WW2 propaganda posters with the same goal of invoking thought provoking ideas. However I feel the message I wanted to invoke didn’t come across. I don’t want to repeat old mistakes.

@pcrdiseseekers questioned: what is there to be faithful to? (kyousuke @ juuzou)
Tumblr media
richard sikens war of the foxes (accepting bc richard siken my beloved)
the earnest way in which he says it is more surprising than the words themselves, kyousuke not exactly the first to doubt the cause that leads him to manoeuvre such a blade, the blood sliding against it's serrated edge a warning and soon to be promise all the same. and he cannot find it in himself to hold it against him, naturally, for finding little hope in this pile of unmarked bodies and their quickly turning reluctant friends ——— their words rarely expressing hope and more often now pushing against the limits of being remotely helpful but rather despairingly morbid, the sceptical terms not unlike a a dissuaded soul ready to accept their final breath; something a man who has already lost too much would hardly benefit from hearing. what is there, the only question he holds an answer to, though he's uncertain the answer will do anything to soothe the worries of his mind.
Tumblr media
and he's uncertain if he'll brush it off instead, boxing all sentimental thoughts into an unspoken part of his mind to instead make way for the focus of suggestion: to be faithful to? there's an odd pressure against his chest as the words sink in, a familiar tug of war between being his saviour and pushing him forwards as he watches kyousuke / watches the flashes of rage, grief, despondency flash across his features like a prayer / watches the way the sky lingers red behind them both and the reality that even he is unable to guess how all this will one day end and it's a thought he should share, he can tell, aware that kyousuke would rather appreciate the honesty but the second his lips open to speak the suggestion that they can trust nothing but hope, at the end of the day. that they cannot trust anyone after all of this does he find that they do not vocalise, cannot bare anything but weight upon his tongue and instead wrap themselves around his vocal chords as a promise. whatever is left of his integrity is sanctioned as ribbons all tied up against his ribcage with the thread of this mans life stitched in to every corner, tightening around the promise not to further burden him, the promise to keep him happy above all else, promise, promising, promised. let whatever he thinks be the bare truth; let him paint you as good or as evil as he needs you to be in his bigger picture, dead or alive, rather than have him spend the rest of his years regretting you, too.
❛    what? this your way of finally saying you don't trust the rest of us anymore?    ❜ he phrases it like a quip despite knowing full well that it's probably not true. he chooses to play pretend here, speaks his apologies in form of a stare long softened towards the man before him. ❛    sometimes, i can't see it as an idea but rather a specific existence,    ❜  [ what is there to be faithful to? ] but you, but you, but you ... he places the question in his own mind, arm rising softly, silent, before he wraps it around the others shoulders, presses his palm against the warmth of his skin now exposed from his unsalvageable jacket. it's you, he answers through that squeeze of reassurance. ❛    if you want someone to live better than the life they are now, maybe that can be considered good enough ...   ❜ so i can look back on here, this, for a moment and know i will save you without any further regrets.

Biomutant news
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This isn’t helped by the frustratingly childish synonyms for various items, with trains called ‘chugga chuggas’ and saddles referred to as “sit-tights’. The narrator feels extremely patronising too, and while the game is clearly aimed at children, it’s far too simplistic for any but the youngest of kids. There is an option in the settings to reduce the frequency of the narrator’s outbursts, but I still felt it far too obtrusive after pushing the slider all the way to the bottom.
Tumblr media
To make matters worse, the narrator constantly chimes in to narrate your in-game actions, whether you’re battling enemies, solving puzzles or simply exploring the world. I personally don’t think the narrator was required at all, as the voiceless characters of Animal Crossing are far more enjoyable to interact with than anyone in Biomutant. By having one narrator vocalise all of the game’s dialogue, conversations feel mind-numbingly repetitive quickly, while also diluting the personalities of the individual characters. However, there’s no voice acting for any of the characters, with an omnipresent narrator instead translating their growls and garbles. There’s little depth to these characters, but they all have memorable quirks such as a fox who’s obsessed with trains and a peace-loving panda. With such a simple plot, the strength of the story relies heavily on the zany personalities of the many friendly creatures you meet. But additional padding – such as countless fetch quests – needlessly stretches out the campaign to last around 15 hours. It’s a very simple and straightforward story, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Your main objective is to take down these monstrous threats. However, Biomutant’s story sees this peaceful world under threat, with various monsters called ‘World Eaters’ gnawing away at the roots of the Tree of Life to rid the world of its restoration powers and put the various fuzzy-haired creatures at risk of imminent doom. When riding across the map, I’d often rotate the camera around just to soak up the eye-catching vistas on display. There are reminders of this apocalyptic past scattered all over the map, with abandoned towns, lifeless oil fields and lakes of toxic sludge making up the world.īut thanks to the mountain-sized Tree of Life in the centre of the map, the world has largely recovered with lush green meadows and thickets of rainforests turning the post-apocalyptic world into a gorgeous and vibrant landscape.
Morality system is too binary to be interestingīiomutant’s story revolves around the world you inhabit, which is gradually recovering from pollution that devastated it decades before.
Childish tone and narrator will put off older gamers.
Post-apocalyptic setting is fascinating and gorgeous.
It’s an interesting and unique premise, and with multiple innovations plucked from some of the very best games in recent history – from Breath of the Wild to Borderlands – it seemingly has all the hallmarks to be an enjoyable open-world adventure.īut is it good enough to qualify for our Best PS4 games and Best Xbox One games lists? I’d argue not, with an overbearing narrator and gentle difficulty curve combining to create a tone that only children will likely appreciate, failing to offer a more widespread appeal that the likes of Ratchet and Clank and Crash Bandicoot have previously mastered. You take control of one of these mutated creatures with the task of saving the world from an upcoming natural disaster. While nukes haven’t decimated the world of BioMutant, it’s repeatedly made clear throughout your adventure that pollution has adversely affected both the environment and its inhabitants, supposedly killing off humans many decades prior.Īnthropomorphic furry critters ranging from wheelchair-bound otters to brutish badgers wielding makeshift longswords now roam the world instead. Placing the furry critters of Kung Fu Panda in the post-apocalyptic setting of Fallout for an unofficial crossover is one of the oddest matchups you could think of for an open-world RPG, yet Biomutant looks to have done just that with surprising success.
Aimed at children: A low difficulty and storybook tone makes Biomutant ideal for children.
Open-world adventure: Biomutant is a third-person open-world RPG.

been listening to bruno is orange by hop along and thought some parts kinda fit with cinth's desperation (and failure) to protect aconite from badster, so here's that cat cinth drawing that ate all the flowers, but orange.
Tumblr media
flowers and their meanings:
cosmos(orange): peace, order and harmony
poppy(red): war remembrance, death and peace
chrysanthemums(white): grief and death
hydrangeas(blue-purple): apology, want for deeper understanding(of someone)
bruno is orange:
Bruno, what happened to your good sense?
I broke down, that man's good
I bet he works for the government
Did you hear about that mother?
Broke her daughter's legs in two
And said, "It's too dangerous out there to walk, so I had to save you"
speaker is cinth, yelling through sobs that aconite shouldn't have trusted gaster while justifying his unwillingness to let aconite join the war. later the singer/cinth screams "don't hurt him" repeatedly which makes me think he's begging gaster to spare his brother from the abuse. there are some other parts I like too but I think the post would be too long if I tried to cram in everything lol
don't you just want to

oops almost forgot @ataintedcure
