more developments on the forever situation
word is he's been unfollowed by brunim, cellbit, phil, and quackity as well as banned from phil's chat.
this is, in my opinion, much more damning information than anything we've seen before this point.
brunim is a close personal friend of forever who has known him for years and would be more inclined to take forever's side on things
cellbit is also a friend of forever's and has been through the experience of being cancelled for past actions that he's improved from
both of them also have access to information without the language barrier
phil and quackity are both veterans of past server cancellation and drama wars and incredibly slow to step in on most drama. for comparison, phil has also taken this opportunity to unfollow drm, which he hadn't gotten around to before now.
this all implies that they have access to information that is not accessible to the general public but which really does not present forever in a good light and means that dropping him is probably necessary as they are people whose judgment i generally trust
that being said, i don't regret my decision to wait for evidence instead of acting on unsourced rumors

i. don’t really know what to think about the whole forever situation. because i have seen people say “he’s addressed this a long time ago so why are we bringing it up” but i haven’t seen WHERE he’s addressed it in the past. nary a tweet or clip of anywhere he may have talked about it, but i would love to see an older clip of him talking about this if possible
I’ve seen people say “his tweets and messages were translated in bad faith to give english speakers a bad perception” which. ok yeah understandable but if that’s the case i still don’t know what exactly the situation is or how serious it is
“she was 13” “she was 15” OK WHICH IS IT!!! both are bad but one is still significantly grosser than the other and i don’t know which is true!! or are there multiple girls!!! i don’t know!!!
“he met a fan for flirtatious/sexual reasons” “he met a fan for normal content creator reasons” WHICH IS IT!!!! I DON’T KNOW!!! i guess only he and the fan would know what the intent was when they met, and even then i don’t know if they met alone or if it was a normal ass fan meetup with multiple other people there
“it’s been 7-8 years, he’s changed” ok. now we are making some sense. he has not exhibited this kind of behaviour in years it seems and he appears to be the kind of person who would not say or do these things now. no one is irredeemable and no one is beyond change. still, it is important for some people to know. many fans would rather know this and make the educated choice on whether to support him or not than continue to support him in blind blissful ignorance. even though it’s stressing me out and i’m still clueless about a lot of it, i’m glad i know anyway.
“what about the past transphobia and the ableism and the and the and the-” That Is Not Relevant To This Conversation. this is a different situation. he has apologized for his past opinions and everyone has had ample time to come to terms with them and make peace with supporting him despite his past beliefs.
“he’s deleting past tweets” i mean if someone was digging around my account for things i’ve said that i no longer stand by, i would delete shit too. sure as hell doesn’t make him look innocent but i would do the same. i HAVE done the same, albeit for much more minor and trivial reasons for posts i made when i was like 15, but still
“he apologized and said he’s getting a lawyer!! no guilty person would do that!!” your content creator is not an angel. guilty people take their accusers to court all the time and get away with it. also, it is up to everyone individually to decide whether to believe him or not. you cannot push others to believe your side but you can give context to some things
there’s nuance to this like there is with everything, and people are jumping to conclusions saying either “he’s an innocent little lamb how dare you!” or “he should be deplatformed and we should never speak of him again!” i will never fault anyone for supporting the alleged victim. if your decision is to stop watching him immediately or even stop supporting the qsmp itself, no one should ever fault you for that. it is ultimately up to you to make that decision. the situation is not clear enough for me to make a decision, so i will withhold judgement for now. i will not doompost about it, and i will not call out people for defending or dropping him.
but for the love of god, just. everybody keep your cool. especially english speakers, we may not have full proper translations for the messages and tweets. take a deep breath. if you want to find more info to form an opinion now and spread information that people don’t already have, go ahead. if you want to step back and not think about it for now, go ahead. there is no shame in taking a step back and thinking about other things. you are not morally obligated to be invested in this situation. you are not morally obligated to drop him immediately and you are also not morally obligated to keep supporting him just because he’s friends with your favs. stick to your gut and do what you feel is right. you will be okay. this is not the end of the world.

Look you guys know me I usually don’t comment on discourse but just know everyone here is disappointed and almost mourning what forever did for Qsmp. And I need everyone to know that you shouldn’t feel guilt for enjoying his content. For writing fics. For making art. No one should. We are innocent. He is the one that betrayed our trust. No one could have guessed what he did in the past.
So feel bad at what forever did. Not at yourself for enjoying him. Feel free to distance yourself from it. But no one should carry personal guilt or shame for enjoying his story arcs.
You are innocent.
He is the one that betrayed your trust.
And no one in the fandom blames you for his actions. You were just a viewer that considered him safe.
And everyone knows that intimately
Do come in my ask box if you need to talk though. My ears are open.

That one Brazilian person in the tag with the very specific live experience from the SOUTHEST state in Brazil: Its not common that thing happens hereee even Brazilians were disgusted
Me, who has spent time in RIO, where Forever was living at the time, and all the way up in the northeast now, seeing this everyday and also having been flirted as a 15 yo by a 20 yo back in 2017 in front of a bunch of adults who did nothing bc it's common and as late as LAST YEAR seeing a college friend of mine allowing his 14 yo sister date a guy with 19 yo about to complete 20 yo: uh. Is ur life experience reeeeeeeaaaaally the true for all the country (who is the 5th biggest of the world?)
So uh. Yeah. Hi everyone. It's allowed here. It happens until this day. Only in late years such as 2020 forward that its been starting to getting controversial because ever since 2009, the year the law was created, any girl from 14-18 is "permitted" and seeked by 20-21 yo bc the law says its legal as long as theres not more than a 7 year gap between the two people. And yes, there's the "pedo" jokes. They're also common even if its allowed. I saw it happening around me all my high school years (even shit that SHOULDN'T be allowed such as a 18 yo making out with a 13 yo but no one did shit)
Yes, everyone has that slight ick that "dude, its allowed, but should you reeeaaaaally do it?" But its not damning in social circles. Lately, the discussion has been mainly in online spaces, because to people that aren't too sync with online discussion and just, go out and date and aren't chronically online, this isn't a problem. It keeps happening
So yeah. It's not a crime, the jokes are normal, and yes he should have been fucking decent and not feeding into the girls flirting with him since it was his responsibility to shut it off and don't answer. But yeah. Especially in 2016, it was really damn normal. It still is to this day
Sorry if this is messy, I'm stressed by a lot of stuff. Maybe I'll do a better post later, maybe not. Idk. Stay safe everyone

I don't have much to say about the situation with forever that hasn't been said already, but I do want to say this:
Do not rush quackity and his team to make a decision immediately. I feel like nowdays people forget that ccs are real people with human emotions and not just emotionless internet icons. This situation is itself incredibly delicate and has to be discussed with proper care, but then there's also the fact that forever is friends with everyone on the server and he has been nothing but kind to them since day one; as a fanbase, it's easier for us to distance ourselves from him (although I know a lot of his fans are feeling very bad and confused rn) because at the end of the day we don't know him personally, but for all the ccs and the admin team this is probably a very hard thing to deal with.
Making ultimatums by saying that forever has to be removed in *insert days* or that the team and the ccs need to make public statements shunning him otherwise you'll stop watching, is not helpful to the situation, and also once again ignores that not everyone is always online to see everything (there are multiple ccs on the server that are not on twitter anymore) and I wish twitter people in particular realized that a lot of ccs (especially if they have a big fanbase) don't have the same relationship with social media that stan accounts do.
Respectfully give the admin team as much accurate information as you can and let them process everything and make an educated decision. Forever is on a hiatus on the server anyways so there's no risk of seeing him there for the foreseeable future if you rightfully feel uncomfortable with him rn.

hot take but no offense but literally what's the fucking point of meticulously making a long ass list of all the ccs who have unfollowed forever. like seriously. you guys did this with dream too. all you're fucking doing is setting yourself up for disappointment when your favorite cc doesnt unfollow him immediately or at all because of a variety of reasons, including but not limited to: they dont use twitter, they don't know what's going on, they don't want to be publicly involved, etc. like come on

I'm not gonna talk about the whole forever situation any further than this, I was not planning to at all (I fucking hate controversy), but I've seen something that bothers me.
Do not put pressure on the QSMP members or team to act on or talk about this. For the love of god. I'm sure it's a lot more for them to deal with than for you. Most of them probably just want to continue enjoying the QSMP with their friends and don't want to let this incident overshadow or dampen the amazing and fun project that quackity and his team has put together. If they take a while to put out a statement on it, fine. If they never even do that, and just quietly unassociate with forever, that's also fine! I can absolutely understand not wanting the QSMP to be associated with a large controversy! If content creators want to continue streaming like nothing happened, they should do so. It's not fair for forever's actions to ruin everyone else's experiences. I'm pretty sure even most viewers of the QSMP would also prefer it if they could just continue watching their fun little minecraft show without having to stress about any of this bollocks (I know I'm firmly in that camp).
So absolutely none of that "I'll stop supporting the project if they don't make a statement" bullshit. Give them a fucking chance.

if your immediate response to the forever situation is to suggest ccs to replace him on the qsmp, that’s weird as fuck and you should step away from the internet 👍

for the record, now that we've had a callout post that successfully caused a creator to be excised from the community, expect more callout posts in the near future and expect them to be of dubious quality. a lot of people are going to be looking at this situation and taking the lesson that starting up a twitter hate mob is the way to get what they want, which is exactly the wrong lesson to take away from this situation.
use common sense, look for actual harm being done and actual sources of information, don't jump to any conclusions either for or against your guys, and don't press anyone else to have answers the instant an accusation drops either.

The forever situation is lacking a lot of context you seem to be the most outspoken about this so I'm gonna tell you:
- jokes about being a pedo for dating anyone younger were very common at the time, if you were 18 and your partner 16 people would joke that you are a pedo
- he didn't went on a date with her, they were part of a "beach group" that lived relatively close and would go out to beaches and pools and share Ubers
- it is common in most of Brazil, twitter is just a bubble, one of the biggest twitch streamer of Brazil started dating his gf when she was 16 and he was 21 and nobody cares
- he used to flirt with everybody, we called him puta bc of it
- he stopped interacting so much with fans and talked about how he regretted his behaviour in 2016-2017 on the flow podcast
- everybody made sure to compliment******* bc she was insecure
^^good lord. more important context. I’ve seen Brazilian fans both on twitter and here say “it’s a cultural thing, he didn’t know it was wrong” and other saying “this is not normal?? what the fuck??” and i think it’s important to consider all of these viewpoints. I’m fucking Canadian, I have no idea what’s considered an acceptable joke or an acceptable relationship in Brazil!! Many seem to be from different areas of Brazil, so it’s understandable that everyone has different opinions. Things that are considered fine in one area are probably considered gross in another.
I’m still going to be maybe slightly less neutral on this still. I don’t think what he did was right, and I think him pushing this off as twitter being twitter isn’t the right way to go about this. If he puts out a better response and presents some facts from his pov instead of just getting on stream and giving us a knee-jerk reaction where he threatens to sue the people who brought this to everyone’s attention, then maybe I’ll feel okay watching him again. For now I’m not going to though, and I’ll also wait a bit before I discuss qForever within the story of the QSMP as well.

Honestly everybody talking about how Philza and other cc's have unfollowed Forever which does show how serious the situation is but like the fact Bad has completely stopped talking about Forever (and is avoiding talking about him) + has taken a hard stop to liking any fanart with him in it just shows how fucked this all is like...
When you got Badboyhalo (who was not afraid to speak his mind when he believed the green dude was being hit with false allegations) to go completely radio silent about you that's how you know you fucked up.

I hate talking about drama but I feel this needs to be said, Friendly reminder that the qsmp members are actively denouncing (in Antoine’s case) and unfollowing Forever. So even if they haven’t put out a public statement I don’t think it’s fair to say the QSMP isn’t taking any actions against him.
This was their friend, someone they met up with and cared about. We have gotten far too comfortable with YouTubers like the try guys who are owned by big companies being able to drop someone on a dime.
This is a streamer run project and they are grieving a friend they didn’t know was a bad person, give them time, give them sympathy, give them patience. This is not a co worker.
If they choose to drop him silently and move on with the project like he wasn’t there, I personally believe that’s more than enough.

at the end of the day my take is that every step of this has been made with very little regard to the victims it occurred to, and if that original callout everyone insisted on spreading maybe actually talked to ANY of the girls they were putting on blast or even handled the information it was presenting like the allegations they were rather than like a cutesy little gossip tabloid piece, maybe things could've come out different. the people with the most to lose here were the group of women who were tossed to the wolves in order to score points in an internet morality game by a bunch of chronically online losers.
