Being a dsmp fan is great because there’s so much old content I haven’t seen/watched before like I just got recommended this old Tommy vod that’s just him Jschlatt and Dream in a call discussing compilation channels and it was really interesting

#Dream and schlatt had different perspectives on it but I could see both sides of the argument #they were very understanding of eachother it was pretty neat #the ending got a bit awkward tho #bc Tommy kept trying to get Dream to add Schlatt on the smp but Dream was clearly undecided if he wanted to do that #and to be clear schlatt didn’t seem like he cared either way #but there was also apparently tension bc when he was on the server the first time the twt stans trended ‘kick schlatt’#and then they started joke arguing about whether it was the dream stans or inniters who did that lmfao #and Tommy kept saying shit liek ‘you two have bonded now pls add him’ and Dream would just not reply #and it was awkward asf but that’s okay still a good stream #(he did eventually add him tho lol obviously)#tubbo and fundy were in the call too overall good stream #first bit was very interesting #.___.

Small but significant character moments that I actually really adore are from both the times we see the boys as tots. There is a reoccurrence that happens in both of them that I find so incredibly interesting.

For the turtle tot short, Splinter leaves the boys with weapons. In the short, Raph is the one who suggests they do “what Lou Jitsu would do” and Leo is the one who takes point when Splinter comes back to reprimand them. Leo, in taking point, is the one to defend them and get Splinter off their tails.

And then, in the flashback regarding the Kuroi Yōroi helmet, Raph is the one who grabs and throws “Skully” as a way to replace their missing ball which breaks it into pieces, but Leo is the one who speaks for the group and rushes into action to fix the teapot.

I love this for multiple reasons, but the biggest are how it shows that Raph has always been inclined toward the bold and fun and making the plans to include his brothers in what he loves and believes they’d love, whereas Leo has always been inclined to be the “Face” of the group and shoulder the attention even if it’s potentially negative all while coming up with on the spot attempts to fix the situation.

I think more people should go back and either replay or rewatch (.... or forbid, play or watch them for the first time) aa1, even if it's literally only case 1

fanon phoenix is so completely disconnected from the actual character that at this point they basically share a wacky hairstyle and a name to me. In the actual games, Phoenix is almost always depicted as the "straight man", even in comparison to Edgeworth: he's somber, dry, sarcastic, and often very tired of shenanigans and bullshit. He's a very ordinary "everyman", and that's like 80% of his appeal to me, tbh. It's not to say that he can't be silly or nonserious, but we have a unique look at the inside of his head and all the things he COULD say, but most likely does not.

He goes on to become a literal world renowned defense attorney, and so many people want to boil him down to a silly stupid little rabbit of a guy when he's anything but

#yes this is about the polls #I guess this particularly irks me because before I replayed the games for the first time in a decade+#I'd fallen for a bit of fanon phoenix as well #and it really surprised me to revisit ace attorney as a fully grown adult (instead of being barely an adult)#and to see how somber and reserved phoenix really is #it's not even strictly a trilogy thing either he acts the same in aa4 #if anything his “worst” qualities are amplified and he very frequently goes mask off about being pessimistic and balefully sarcastic #I guess to sum it up #phoenix is an interesting character and it makes me sad to see him reduced to a gag bit that's basically used to prop up other characters #obviously I fully support people playing with interpretations #what is fandom if not to play pretend with our dollies #but I feel like they're really missing out by not paying attention to what actually IS there

Okay but linc is such a good character??? His development this season has been amazingly consistent and COMPELLING... PLUS, hes not only a good character on his own, but the way he adds to the other teens' arcs is. so good. i think thats why hes shipped with literally almost every other teen... its because his relationships with each of them is just so unique and interesting.

(about the latest drabble): I'm sorry, Welsknight's code of honor says what

Gotta love Chivalry!

Welsknight in RnS is trying is ready best to be a good knight, but he has no church to swear fealty to [unless he builds one himself] and no Knightly Order to train and be ordained with [unless he builds one himself] so unlike Helsknight, who sought out a church in hels and got knighted the Ye Olde Fashioned Way, Welsknight follows the rules of Poetic Chivalry. The more he and Helsknight have fought it out, the more Helsknight's tenets have been incorporated into Welsknight's idea of Chivalry [and Helsknight's tenets themselves are based on Chivalric Laws anyway] but still, their personal creeds are a little to the left of each other.

With that little rant out of the way, the Chivalric Laws I'm using for Welsknight are augmented from Léon Gautier's Ten Commandments of Chivalry:

Thou shalt believe all that the Church teaches and thou shalt observe all its directions.

Thou shalt defend the Church.

Thou shalt respect all weaknesses, and shalt constitute thyself the defender of them.

Thou shalt love the country in which thou wast born.

Thou shalt not recoil before thine enemy.

Thou shalt make war against the infidel without cessation and without mercy.

Thou shalt perform scrupulously thy feudal duties, if they be not contrary to the laws of God.

Thou shalt never lie, and shalt remain faithful to thy pledged word.

Thou shalt be generous, and give largesse to everyone.

Thou shalt be everywhere and always the champion of the Right and the Good against Injustice and Evil.

For the sake of RnS, which has vague gods and saints in hels, but only the gods and saints players make everywhere else, for Welsknight, all tenets about God and Church are Hermitcraft the Server and what it represents. The laws and teachings of Hermitcraft are its pledges to creativity and fairness and prosperity. He will defend it to his dying breath, because it's his home, and the living, breathing part of the universe that he and his friends create in. And any enemy of Hermitcraft is his personal enemy as well.

[I like to imagine the reason Welsknight didn't get involved in the HC x Empires crossover was because he was busy making sure the Empires crew wouldn't start a war he personally had to finish lol]

He really is trying his best.

The problem with Chivalry though, is it is inherently about crusades. Chivalric poems, while filled with a good bit of manner and courtly love, are also filled with the ideas of self sacrifice for a ruthless Good, a Good that roots out evil, with tragic grace. A Good that, ultimately, crusaded against whole countries, because Good wouldn't abide by Evil. Chivalry needs something to fight for. Otherwise it's just a basket of nice, convenient morals, a horse and a suit of armor. So you can imagine, in his own subtle, misguided way, Welsknight is actually quite happy hels exists. What good is a knight without something to fight for? Or better yet, to fight against, because it is very convenient to define yourself by everything your enemy isn't.

And his enemy isn't kind to him. His enemy must be a liar, because what he says about his worthiness as a knight can't be true. And his enemy must be cruel, because he seeks him out to hurt him. And his enemy must be relentless, because he hasn't given up yet. And his enemy is Helsknight, and everything Helsknight stands for, and apparently, Helsknight stands for quite a lot, including other people, and other people can be fought.

(He and Helsknight, despite every kick and scream to the contrary, really are a lot alike.)

breaking bad is great. I watch walter white try to kill a fly. I think wow I love these symbolic intros. the fly is not an intro bit. I watch an entire episode about walter and jesse trying to kill a fly. all those tumblr textposts about how funny breaking bad is and nobody told me about The Fly Episode.

#very non-standard episode but a welcome one #made me sympathize with walter for the first time in a while which was interesting #I think the comedy in the show has shifted somewhat from the beginning it’s still a serious show but the comedy is more frequent now #before it was a dark comedy in the sense that it had occasional comedic dialogue and some of the dark elements could be also be kinda funny #ex: jesse tries to melt a corpse in a bathtub and it crashes through the ceiling #now it’s a dark and a (little bit) comedy #neither of these are bad I like both I just think it’s interesting #breaking bad #talk tag
