Finnish men's national team, and why you should be interested in them during EURO2021
(a kinda long post)
This is the Finnish national team. The first men's team playing in the major tournament (women have played in 3 Euro tournaments and qualified for 2022).
Finland had their chance to play in the World Cup, in 1930, when countries just said that they attented. But Finland wasn't interested.
In Finland, playing in Euro's is called "the dream of the generations", because Finland football fans have been waiting for this over 100 years (Finnish national team played their first game against Sweden in 1911).
Before the game that ensured the qualification, YLE interviewed Gunnar Yliharju, who worked with the nt for over 1000 games. He told that:
"[Voitto] olisi niin mahtava 80-vuotislahja. Voisi sanoa melkein, että voisi tyytyväisin mielin tästä maailmasta vaikka sitten mennäkin."
"[Winning] would be amazing 80th birthday present. One could almost say, that one might leave gladly this world after that."
The interview (only in Finnish)
When Finland qualified, UEFA fined Finnish football association 10 000 €, because fans rushed to the field to celebrate with the team. This lead to this cheerful moment of one of the players being accidentally punched while celebrating with fans.
And this is how celebrated the fans who weren't in the stadium.
In the team picture you might have noticed a half of owl's face. Us Finns have a tendency to give animal inspired nicknames to our national teams (in ice hockey team is called the Lions, and in basketball the wolves) and football isn't exception. The national team is called the Eagle Owls.
The names comes from a Eagle owl called Bubi, which interrupted Finland - Belgium match in June 2007. The referee had to stop the game for six minutes, because owl was sitting on top of the both goals and in the field. Later Finland won the game, and Bubi was named as the citizen of the year in Helsinki, and the nickname was established.

Finland is 54th in FIFA ranking, and our football history is full of bitter losses. But. Finland is full of surprises, and in recent years the team has almost shocked football world by playing 1-1 against Spain (World Cup 2010 winners) in 2013 and winning France (WC 2018) 0-2 in 2020.
The brightest star in Finnish team is Teemu Pukki, a striker who was partly responsible in raising Norwitch into the Premier League. Other "big names" are goalie Lukas Hradecky who plays in Byern Leverkusen, and Glen Kamara who just won Scottish Premiere League with Rangers.
Finland doesn't have much hope for success in the tournament (they play in same group with Belgium, Denmark and Russian, first ranked first in FIFA ranking, and other over 20 places above Finland.)
But when you watch EURO2021, keep your eyes on Finland. You will see football played from the heart, by nation who has been waiting this for century, and will enjoy every moment of this tournament it has.
