Self love ♥️

Does anybody else struggle with self-love? Like if your friend called you and told you about how hard they were being on themselves would you give them the same advice of how you treat yourself?

That answer for me is ABSOLUTELY NOT. I am WAY too hard on myself always and I am aware of it but don’t know how to fix it. A couple months ago I decided I was going to be intentional and try and seek some help with this so I bought a self love journal that has daily tasks to slowly get you into a better mentality.

Today I was cleaning up my office and I found that journal.. how many days of it do you think I completed before it became a dust collector?

Zero! Not even one. It’s as if I find the courage to make a purchase that will better myself but not enough to actually do it. I also have a gym membership I feel this same way about. I signed up online and have never even stepped foot inside. I know it sounds silly but I don’t want to cancel it because I truly do want to use it I just have to actually make time to go. It’s not that there’s not enough time it’s the mental aspect of going. What if there’s not enough equipment, what if I don’t know how to use something correctly, what if I hurt myself, what if I don’t have the endurance to do much?

All very silly thoughts which I recognize but haven’t found a way to talk myself into actually going.

Today I decided to start with baby steps of being intentional. I dusted off my journal and completed the daily activity.

My brain feels like this is not a big enough accomplishment to share and I should do more but todays activity told me to be self kind and think of a phrase to tell myself when I feel like I’m not doing enough or become hard on myself and I am going to share that here because I feel like it could help someone else as well.

The phrase I chose was

“remember that you once only dreamt of and prayed for the things you have today “

And every time I said that to myself it really made me feel much more grateful and proud of myself because it really made me reflect back on the positives.

Do I want a new bigger house still ? OF COURSE I DO but I feel like I get so caught up in the hustle of doing better I forget to be thankful that I do have a beautiful home filled with love and a husband who loves me a little extra on the days I struggle to love myself.

So today is my day one of my journey to self love.

Mental health is SO important and I feel like it gets overlooked more often then not. If you’d like to join my journey please don’t hesitate to reach out.
