A teaser of the Fallout webcomic I am working on presently ♥
Soundtrack for the beginning: Footprints in the Sand, Murray Gold
and the end: The Scavenger, John Williams.
More context on my character below ☼
Rag is shot in the head, buried alive and dug up again in the Goodsprings cemetery. Fixed up by Doc Mitchell, as they exit his house they experience for the first time the hallucinatory consequences of their injury: vivid flashbacks to episodes of their life...

I was today years old when I learned that the memoirs of Countess Marie Larisch, Louise of Belgium and Crown Princess Louise of Saxony had the same ghostwriter: Maude Ffoulkes
Tumblr media
She even wrote her own memoirs, My Own Past. I read the chapter about meeting Marie Larisch and working with her to write her memoirs and honestly it was super interesting. For instance, the original manuscript which Larisch wrote was only about Mayerling, it was Ffoulkes who asked her if she could also include stories about Empress Elisabeth (so we know who to blame for the permanent damage to Elisabeth's historiography). Also, when Ffoulkes asked Larisch if she wanted to write the book just to get money, the countess answered that she wanted the truth to be known, and that she wanted revenge on Franz Josef. Once they started to work together, she said to Ffoulkes that they would "write a book which will annoy that stupid old man in Vienna" (lol) which honestly explains a lot the entire tone of the memoirs.
Ffoulkes had every reason to claim she absolutely trusted Larisch was telling the truth, and perhaps she really did believe her. But I find very funny that one of the stories Larisch told her was of visiting Elisabeth's tomb with her aunt the Duchess of Alençon. Who very famously died a year before her older sister.

The struggle is real, people—
I do not know if I’d rather have Jonathan Bailey play Sir Percy Blakeney, Sir Andrew Ffoulkes, or Lord Anthony Dewhurst in an adaptation of “The Scarlet Pimpernel”.

With costume reuse comes another kind of reuse – fabric. The distinctively colored striped silk fabric has also been used for a costume seen in Return to Cranford and Belgravia.
This waistcoat has been used in several productions depicting the late 18th century through the 19th century. It first turned up in the 1999 TV series The Scarlet Pimpernel, in both the second and third episode of the first season, where it was worn by Anthony Green as Andrew Ffoulkes.
From there, it was briefly used in the 2008 sixth episode of the miniseries John Adams, where Zak Orth wore it as James McHenry.
It appeared next in the 2009 miniseries adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma, where Robert Bathurst wore the waistcoat as the character Mr.Weston.
Most recently, the piece showed up in the first episode of the 2024 show The Completely Made Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, where Noel Fielding wore it in the title role.

Some more of Patrick Troughton (and his selection of silly hats), as Sir Andrew Ffoulkes in The Adventures of the Scarlet Pimpernel (ITP, 1955 - 1956)

The Scarlet Pimpernel

Leslie starred in the movie from 1934. Patrick was in the 1955 series.
Leslie plays Sir Percy, a master of disguise and leading a double life. In the series Patrick is Sir Andrew Ffoulkes, a friend of Percy. The series was supposed to have 39 episodes, but they only filmed 18.
Both versions are marvellous, with a beautiful cast. ❤️

One final thought before I log off for the night, Scarlet Pimpernel AU.
This could be French Revolution or it could be the Party rescuing people from the Upside Down.
Steve as Sir Percy (plays stupid but is absolutely NOT). The dashing hero known as the Scarlet Pimpernel. Rich, close to the prince of the realm. Known for his good looks and dandy-ish ways.
Eddie as Marguerite a former actress and singer (Eddie would be a former singer) dubbed the smartest in all of Europe. Nearly everyone doesn’t understand why he would be married to the stupid Sir Steve. Accidentally duped into giving up a friend of Steve’s to the opposition and now isn’t trusted by the Party.
I’m having I hard time deciding on who should be Lord Anthony Ffoulkes, Dustin or Robin. Lord Anthony is the Scarlet Pimpernel’s known right hand man. But because he’s a lord they can’t touch him with out setting off an international incident. Probably Robin though.
As that would leave Dustin as Armand St Just Marguerite’s little brother. The one that got caught carrying papers for the Scarlet Pimpernel when he went back to try and save his lady love.
Vecna as Robespierre, Billy as Chauvelin and the rest of the cast filling in roles as the League, the rescued, or the revolutionaries as needed.
Just...argh! It would be so epic!!!
