Recently we talked about Mirmanda, the ancient destroyed city of Catalan mythology. Today we’re talking about another mythical place from our legends: Paradela.

According to the legends, Paradela is a city that resurfaces from the bottom of the sea only once a year, on Sant Joan / Saint John’s Night (23rd of June). When that happens, the city - surrounded by walls, towers and bell towers - can be seen from certain areas of Menorca (Balearic Islands).

It’s no surprise that Sant Joan is the date chosen: as we’ve explained before, Saint John is considered the most magical night of the year in the Catalan traditions, when mythological beings are in closer contact with humans and magic spells have the strongest effect. Many legends that talk about things that only happen once a year are set on this night.

The tradition says that if 7 men named Joan and 7 women named Joana come to see the city together, the curse will expire and Paradela will regain the population and riches that it had in the moment when it sank.

Variations of the name: the same legendary city is called “Paradella” in Palma and “Troia” in Felanitx.

Barça's smile is back. After two injuries in a row and almost several months without playing, Mariona Caldentey (Felanitx, Mallorca – March 19, 1996) is back to 100%, she reappeared at the Camp Nou against Wolfsburg and before the return leg in Germany she chatted with MD to tell how he has lived this time and what he hopes for the future.

How have these two months been outside?

The truth is that it has been difficult because I had two injuries in a row. I was eight weeks and then ten more weeks and the truth is that, like everyone else, what you want is to be able to do your job and my job is to train every day and play and when you can't do it and you see your teammates They are difficult times to go through but I am very happy to feel good, to be back for the team and eager to play.

How did you live the days of the relapse being with the selection?

In the end, with Jorge (Vilda) and the medical services of the national team, we are always in contact. With Barça it had not been published that he had a medical discharge but it was known that he was going to be available for the weekend with the team, so the idea was to go to the national team to continue picking up pace and continue training with the team. In the end, during the national team break, everyone leaves and this is empty and what I needed was to be able to train and start playing and get minutes. I was going to the national team having played two games with Barça and I was part of the process. Part of me feels sorry and I feel bad because it seems that the national team or Jorge is blamed when nobody forced me to do anything, I felt good, I had talked with Barça that I could go to the national team and play, my sensations were good but in the end it didn't work out and it's sad for me the first one to experience it. These are football things and we are exposed to these things happening to us but I have total confidence with Barça and Jorge in the national team and I am very calm because we have done things well.

Was it difficult for you to see the team from the stands?

Sometimes I thought that if I could I wouldn't even go to see the games because in the end it's the hardest day when the team plays and you can't. In the end, during the week you are doing the work and we train them separately but you are doing something. When the team plays you are sitting there watching it and you can't do anything. It is always the hardest day. They have also been very nice games, first at the Camp Nou the Champions League against Madrid... In the end you want to play all the games but when the scenario is like this it becomes even more difficult.

But the injured did not miss one. Matches, previews, training...

When the team traveled and we stayed doing our training, all the injured were left together. One day we went to Lieke's house, another to Irene's, another to my house... These are difficult times for all the injured. Jana, Bruna, Cata... who also have longer and more difficult injuries. Since you have to spend it, spend it in the best way and being together, in the end it was an excuse to get together and encourage the team together and do a little pineapple to have the least bad time possible. In the end it is nice to share the bad moments with your colleagues. I, for example, with Asisat (Oshoala) who have gone hand in hand throughout the process. It's easier that way.

Is it 100% now?

I'm 100%, I notice that we have trained very well with retrainers and then the partial part with the team. I am safe, I feel very well and I am not afraid. The only thing I want is to continue adding minutes and training sessions and for the season to end in the best way.

And on top of that renewed until 2024

I've been here eight seasons now, which is fast. It is very difficult to be in a club like Barça for so long. I have seen many people come and go during all these years and I am privileged to be able to continue being here. Barça's style of play and Mariona's style of play go hand in hand, I'm happy here and comfortable. As long as Barça is happy with me, let's continue making history.

Are you at your best professional moment, the most mature?

In the end when I get here I am 18 years old and I am a girl. You play but that way. Now, at 26 years old and with the work I do every day, I think I'm a better player, more complete, more mature and that I can adapt more to the team's game, but hey. I'm 26 so I hope my best moment is yet to come.

In such a united locker room, is it hard to see colleagues go out, many of whom are friends?

Yes, but in the end it is part of this job. You don't know where you're going to be tomorrow and you have to take advantage of the moments we have together and in the dressing room. Enjoy it to the fullest because football passes and what remains are the people. In the end, if people decide to leave, for whatever reason, probably because it is the best decision for the player, the only thing you can do is wish them well . In the end, in football, you find yourself either in the same team, against or in the national team and that's a nice thing.

You are a very popular player, you have a good legion of fans.

Grateful. In the end, in my town I feel very loved there in Felanitx. Everyone is very attentive, everyone from day zero has supported me a lot. Seeing that the people who support me and are looking out for me every day are more and that they are already from outside my town, and the truth is that it is an honor. I'm very happy and all I want is for them to enjoy watching us play and have as much fun as we do.

Many were at the Camp Nou. Now, colder, how did you experience it?

It is something that we will not assimilate or value until time passes. Now everything is going very fast. It happens once and you don't realize it and it happens again. Our job is to play, play well and win, you pay less attention to that at the moment. The next day when you see the photos they impact you but we are not aware until some time has passed. Barça is doing an incredible job, it's a pioneering team and they're betting on us and the people are responding. Let's hope it's the beginning of something very beautiful.

How do you plan the second leg in Germany?

We want to win even in warm-ups, in training and even when we compete in the gym. We are a very competitive and ambitious team and obviously we know that the result is favorable and people think that we are favorites and we have a foot and a half in the final but our objective in going to Germany is not to go through, it is to win that game. We count the games by wins this year and we want to continue the streak. We have seen the videos of the match, we have analyzed what we can improve and thinking that they can do different things. We are focused to go win that game.

Are you aware that you are seven games away from being the only team in history to win them all in the same season?

I didn't know (laughs). Here everything happens very fast. You play, you win, you celebrate and the next day you're already training again. I think part of the success is that we don't look at what we achieve but we focus on ourselves. Hopefully we continue making records but we are people, not machines and there can be a bad game and many things happen. The others also play. The objectives are to win titles and that is what we are going to do.

Do you want to be able to win a Champions League with their fans on the pitch?

The first final in Budapest was something very beautiful, one of the best experiences we have had in the locker room because the families traveled with us and it was very beautiful. The game was not so nice but we had already had the experience. After the second final it was like 'now we are alone, we have won it and we cannot celebrate it'. We were all on cell phones making video calls with family and friends. It would be nice to be able to put the two together. Have the people and win a title. Hopefully yes, that we win on Saturday and everyone can come to Turin.

Finally, where does the ability to play the piano come from?

I would love to know piano and know more. My grandmother has a piano at home and she played a lot, she still plays but not so much anymore. When she was little and went to eat at her house, she would teach me something and I would repeat it, but I have no idea about music and read sheet music. I have been watching and copying and it is true that I like it, it calms me down, I have a keyboard at home and from time to time I also have some friends who are good with music. I like it a lot and someday I think I will start with classes to learn more.

Poc Procen Air, un casque aéro pour la route !

Poc présente le Procen Air un casque aéro développé avec l'équipe EF Pro Cycling pour gagner des watts mais aussi améliorer sécurité et confort du cycliste. En dehors de la protection contre les impacts, essentielle, le nouveau casque aérodynamique de Poc, le Procen Air a de nombreux objectifs. Il a déjà prouvé ses qualités en étant victorieux avec Albertol Betiol sur Milan-Turin, Noemi Rüegg sur Trofeo Felanitx-Colònia de Sant Jordi, Kristen Faulkner sur l’Omloop van het Hageland, et Kim Cadzow au Trofeo Ponente in Rosa. Il dispose d'une coque en polycarbonate et d'un calotin en EPS, mais ici pas de système Mips. C'est presque un casque de chrono mais adapté à des épreuves longues. Crédit Poc Aéro avant tout ! Le gain aérodynamique est au centre du concept. Après un gros travail, en simulation CFD, en soufflerie et de nombreux tests routiers réalisés avec les équipes EF Pro Cycling, le Procen Air permet un gain de 5 watts à vitesse réduite et de 18 watts entre 30 et 60 km/h par rapport au Ventral. Sa forme permet aussi d'écarter le flux d'air des épaules. Le passage en soufflerie reste un incontournable. Crédit Poc Côté ventilation, le casque Poc Procen Air n'est pas un casque fermé, même s'il compte peu "d'évents". Sur l'avant on ne compte ainsi que 3 prises d'air, mais celles-ci utilisent l'effet Venturi pour faire rentrer un maximum d'air frais dans les canaux internes du casque et donc maintenir la tête à une température agréable. De plus afin d'optimiser la traînée, le casque couvre partiellement les oreilles et comporte un écran amovible. Mais cela n'a pas qu'un effet aérodynamique... Un plus en termes de sécurité Si le Procen Air couvre en partie les oreilles et si le gain de trainée est là aussi sensible, cette couverture permet aussi d'améliorer l'audition en supprimant nombre de bruits aérodynamiques. Entendre parfaitement ce qui se passe derrière soi est alors un vrai plus en termes de sécurité. Dans le même esprit l'intégration d'un écran assure une vision périphérique maximale. La fixation de l'écran Clarity par aimant permet de le mettre en place ou de l'ôter d'une main. Un "garage" avec aimants est présent à l'arrière du casque Poc Procen Air pour fixer le casque sans impact sur son aérodynamique. Le casque est livré avec deux écrans, un "clair" pour le temps ensoleillé et un miroir pour les mauvaises conditions. L'écran se fixe à l'arrière de telle façon qu'il n'interfère pas avec l'aérodynamique. Dans le cas du Procen Air, nous voulions optimiser l’expérience au cœur du peloton, où beaucoup de choses se passent autour de vous. Notre mission était de créer un casque aussi aérodynamique qu’un casque de contre-la-montre, qui améliore la vision et l’audition du cycliste, sans compromettre sa sécurité. » Le team féminin d'EF Pro Cycling a rapidement tiré profit du nouveau casque ! Crédit Poc Peter Schep,directeur de la performance pour EF Pro Cycling,  : « Lorsque nous avons développé la technique permettant d’optimiser la circulation de l’air à travers un casque de contre-la-montre, le Procen, nous avons pensé : “Tiens ! Cela va résoudre un certain nombre de nos problèmes.” Nous sommes rapidement passés à la vitesse supérieure avec ce nouveau projet. Il suffisait de réaliser des ajustements pour assurer que le ou la cycliste est rafraichi de manière adéquate, tout en conservant une vision et une audition supérieures afin d’appréhender ce qui se passe derrière et autour de lui. La sécurité est toujours la priorité. Gardant cela en tête, nous avons pu développer ce casque. Il permet d’aller nettement plus vite. » À propos de la victoire d’Alberto Bettiol sur Milan Torino, il ajoute : « Alberto a maintenu une vitesse moyenne de 46,5 km/h pendant son solo. Selon nos calculs, Le Procen Air lui a permis de couvrir la distance plus de dix secondes plus vite que s’il avait porté le Ventral, qui est déjà un casque rapide.
