Anyone feel free to answer this, but I'm sending this to you since you seem really educated on the Gospel. For my own peace of mind, I need to know, how are people sure that Christianity is the one true religion? Why not Islam, or Judaism?

It's not that I don't believe, but I'm trying to set my brain firmly on Christ right now. You see, I have a mental illness that causes me to frequently go with the sway of my thoughts and emotions. This causes me to often change my mind on which religion I should follow. It's complicated, to say the least, but I'm trying to stay steadfast in following God. I just need to know which way is the right way to go since there are so many paths to choose from. It gets so confusing sometimes. :(

I'm sorry to hear of your illness, I can tell it's especially hard because as Christians we are supposed to not be dependent on our thoughts and feelings but to be dependent on God and His Holy Bible. This isn't something that can be done overnight, but with practice and prayer. Please take some time to pray daily about your struggles in keeping a firm stand on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

As for why Christianity is correct and none of the others are, here are two reasons why:

Inerrancy of Scripture: Books like the quran, book of mormon, hindu texts, and otherworldy religious texts are full of contradictions and false prophecies. Only in the Bible will you find that 100% of all prophecies up to date have been fulfilled. I recommend looking that up here . The reason Judaism isn't correct is that they reject Jesus as the Messiah. Look very closely at Isaiah 53 for the prophecy of the Messiah's death and then look at Jesus' death. You will very quickly notice the similarities.

By Faith Alone are we Saved: All other religions will tell you that you must do works in order to be saved. Other worldly texts say, "do this to become a good person!" "Do this and you will go to paradise!" but only Christianity will say, "there is no good in you, come to Me [Jesus] and I will give you a new heart, full of new desires." (Eze. 36:26) We can't clean our moral standards up before coming to the God of the Bible, because it's impossible to with our sinful nature. Jesus died so that we can have a right standing with God. No other 'god' died for their people and atoned for their sins so that they might have new life. Forgiveness is only possible through the shedding of blood (Heb. 9:22) If we just believe in Jesus Christ for our salvation and repent of our sins, He will do all the work in us.

3 Nephi, Chapter 1. Part 1. "The Cycle of the Wolf."

THE THIRD BOOK OF NEPHI THE SON OF NEPHI, WHO WAS THE SON OF HELAMAN

And Helaman was the son of Helaman, who was the son of Alma, who was the son of Alma, being a descendant of Nephi who was the son of Lehi, who came out of Jerusalem in the first year of the reign of Zedekiah, the king of Judah.

The Value in Gematria is 13402, יגדאֶפֶסב, ‎yagdafesv, "God cuts through with understanding of the interpretations of the dreams."

This molecule, yagdafesv, is of tremendous importance to study of the Book of Mormon, which is heavily encrypted.

Anyone who would know the precise distribution of its contents across the 24 Jaredite Brass Plates, 12 containing temporal wisdom, 12 containing spiritual wisdom, some long, some short, and the Plates of Gold is dead. They were all killed just after President Lincoln was assassinated and the Mormons who were left went west with Brigham Young and became the butt ass dumb perverts we know today.

We know the Prophet used Gematria to write the Book, this he stated in an authentic letter stating a White Salamander was the source of the Lexicon, meaning the Hebrew Numbers, and that it was a "Father and Son" combination with the Torah. As for how to properly translate the entire Book and identify the plates, consider this forum a work in progress to that end.

Anyone who refutes this is a false prophet. There have been many since the founding of the Church and they have taken scads of money from the many congregants they claim to care for and they know not a whit about the religion. They should be arrested and put to death for this.

We are now making an important transition out of the Book of Helaman, the Dream of Light into Third Nephi, which is the Birth of Christ. Notice this does not in any way signal a return nor a default to a gracious aspect of human nature. Things get worse:

3 Then he departed out of the land, and whither he went, no man knoweth; and his son Nephi did keep the records in his stead, yea, the record of this people.

4 And it came to pass that in the commencement of the ninety and second year, behold, the prophecies of the prophets began to be fulfilled more fully; for there began to be greater signs and greater miracles wrought among the people.

5 But there were some who began to say that the time was past for the words to be fulfilled, which were spoken by Samuel, the Lamanite.

6 And they began to rejoice over their brethren, saying: Behold the time is past, and the words of Samuel are not fulfilled; therefore, your joy and your faith concerning this thing hath been vain.

7 And it came to pass that they did make a great uproar throughout the land; and the people who believed began to be very sorrowful, lest by any means those things which had been spoken might not come to pass.

8 But behold, they did watch steadfastly for that day and that night and that day which should be as one day as if there were no night, that they might know that their faith had not been vain.

Lachoneus is Hebrew for "to pardon, to be of clear mind."

Lachon means to pardon, the noun νους (nous) means mind, the conscious and reasonable faculty of a person. It's officially unclear where this noun comes from, also because it doesn't seem to occur in cognate languages.

This would mean that the Greeks had their own word for mind, which is not unthinkable, but also that they named the mind after something with which its kinship is so counterintuitive to us moderns that we are no longer able to retrace the ancient logic and arrive, with the ancient Greeks, at the source.

In a living language (particularly in a time when there were no dictionaries, standards and committees), words are formed according to the shared enthusiasm for that word by every user of that language.

Since the mind occupied a great portion of Greek thought, the word by which it was known must have seemed spot-on by everybody involved, and this ultimately demonstrates that we have no real idea what the ancient Greek were talking about when they used our noun νους (nous).

To share the wisdom and knowledge of faith from ancient times then wait for a sign the predictions are true is the objective of Messiah. There are signs this state of being has come to pass in perfection, is universally recognizable, and transcends all borders, races, boundaries, traditions, and politics.

Three Nephi begins by stating the arrival of the Messiah and all that has been promised regarding it is over due. At the time the Book of Mormon was written in the early 19th century, this meant it was time for slavery, genocide, and clear cutting to stop.

In ours it means World War Three must come to an abrupt and peaceful end without further loss of life or the testing or use of nuclear weapons. The corrupt governments responsible for it must be reorganized and made to follow the international laws that were put in place after World War 2 to prevent the one that is currently consuming all life on earth an inch at a time just as its predecessors did.

To pretend we are powerless to end WW3 is nonsense. We are in elegant control of our lives at all times. Governors who make climactic decisions to start wars are like the fat fux in Salt Lake City, they are false prophets, they read the signs they make as portents of good fortune for themselves and they must be punished and the world needs to see good and worthwhile persons even the score.

The rest can be explained using Gematria.

v1. The 91st Year.... the Value in Gematria is 1363-8, יגו‎גח "I will gog, I will sneer."

"I will have a discussion and berate you."

To gog means to explain onself using the complexities of language, to sneer, or baz, means to do so to cause despair.

v. 2 the Value in Gematria is 8813, חחאג‎‎, hahag, "to explain how things work, how they cycle."

v. 3 the Value in Gematria is 7032, זאֶפֶסגב‎, zefesgave, "The wolf festival gathers at the back to cause dismay."

v. 4. the 92nd Year, the Value in Gematria is 6711, ו‎זיא, and zia, "tremble in terror."

v. 5 the Value in Gematria is 10087, י‎אֶפֶסחז‎‎, Japheth, "rumors, gossip, heaps of bullshit." Like the Republicans.

"The main difference between Shem and Japheth is that although both acquire, Japheth is simply piling upon an ever growing heap, whereas Shem carefully adopts elements that he may incorporate into a previously conceived design. Japheth is simply making a bigger pile (gossip, rumors, fiction; anything goes)."

v. 6 the Value in Gematria is 10950, י‎טהאֶפֶס, yathapes, "remember the words in order to advance and open the eyes."

The beautiful root יתר (yatar) yields words with a general meaning of remaining or being a rest (a remainder).

ap= open the eyes

es= the tree (the one in Eden).

v. 7 the Value in Gematria is 11365, יאג‎וה‎, yagwa, "God's back" meaning He will not forgive.

v. 8 the Value in Gematria is 11439, יאדגט‎ ‎yadget, "the hand of God at the Winepress of Vision."

In order to be of God and achieve salvation, one must follow the map and become intelligent, clear headed, completely free of rumors, gossip, falsehoods, politics, propaganda, completely willing to observe and participate in reality.

Failure to do so and engage in corruption as a band of Gadiantons, "those who cover and steal" is cause for damnation.

Those Apostles and General Seventies and the Republicans must be dealth with. They have lied, murdered, raped, assaulted, and embezelled enough of our time, money, peace and quiet, safety and security, and are not penitent in the least for it. Once they are all dead and the cycle ends as this first Chapter of 3 Nephi states, God will shine His face upon us.

Lil Nas X: Country Music, Christianity & Reclaiming HELL

I don’t typically bother myself to follow what Lil Nas X is doing from day to day, or even month to month but I do know that his “Old Town Road” hit became one of the biggest selling/streamed records in Country Music Business history (by a Black Country & Queer artist). “Black” is key because for 75+ years Country music has unsuspiciously evolved into a solidly White-identified genre (despite mixed and Indian & Black roots). Regrettably, Country music is also widely known for anti-black, misogynoir, reliably homophobic (Trans isn’t really a conversation yet), Christian and Hard Right sentiments on the political spectrum. Some other day I will venture into more; there is a whole analysis dying to be done on this exclusive practice in the music industry with its implications on ‘access’ to equity and opportunity for both Black/POC’s and Whites artists/songwriters alike. More commentary on this rigid homogeneous field is needed and how it prohibits certain talent(s) for the sake of perpetuating homogeneity (e.g. “social determinants” of diversity & viable artistic careers). I’ll refrain from discussing that fully here, though suffice it to say that for those reasons X’s “Old Town Road” was monumental and vindicating.

As for Lil Nas X, I’m not particularly a big fan of his music; but I see him, what he’s doing, his impact on music + culture and I celebrate him using these moments to affirm his Black, Queer self, and lifting up others. Believe it or not, even in the 2020′s, being “out” in the music business is still a costly choice. As an artist it remains much easier to just “play straight”. And despite appearances, the business (particularly Country) has been dragged kicking and screaming into developing, promoting and advancing openly-affirming LGBTQ 🏳️‍🌈 artists in the board room or on-stage. Though things are ‘better’ we have not yet arrived at a place of equity or opportunity for queer artists; for the road of music biz history is littered with stunted careers, bodies and limitations on artists who had no option but to follow conventional ways, fail or never be heard of in the first place. With few exceptions, record labels, radio and press/media have successfully used fear, intimidation, innuendo and coercion to dilute, downplay or erase any hint of queer identity from its performers. This was true even for obvious talents like Little Richard.

(Note: I’m particularly speaking of artists in this regard, not so much the hairstylists, make-up artists, PA’s, etc.)

Which is why...in regard to Lil Nas X, whether you like, hate or love his music, the young brother is a trailblazer. His very existence protests (at least) decades of inequity, oppression and erasure. X aptly critiques a Neo-Christian Fascist Heteropatriarchy; not just in American society but throughout the Music Business and with Black people. That is no small deal. His unapologetic outness holds a mirror up to Christianity at-large, as an institution, theology and practice. The problem is they just don’t like what they see in that mirror.

In actuality, “Call Me By Your Name”, Lil Nas X’s new video, is a twist on classic mythology and religious memes that are less reprehensible or vulgar than the Biblical narratives most of us grew up on vís-a-vís indoctrinating smiles of Sunday school teachers and family prior to the “age of reason”. Think about the narratives blithely describing Satan’s friendly wager with God regarding Job (42:1-6); the horrific “prophecies” in St. John’s Book of Revelation (i.e. skies will rain fire, angels will spit swords, mankind will be forced to retreat into caves for shelter, and we will be harassed by at least three terrifying dragons and beasts. Angels will sound seven trumpets of warning, and later on, seven plagues will be dumped on the world), or Jesus’s own clarifying words of violent intent in Matthew (re: “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.” 10:34). Whether literal or metaphor, these age old stories pale in comparison to a three minute allegorical rap video. Conservatives: say what you will, I’m pretty confident X doesn’t take himself as seriously as “The true and living God” from the book of Job.

A little known fact as it is, people have debunked the story and evolution of Satan and already offered compelling research showing [he] is more of a literary device than an actual entity or “spirit” (Spoiler: In the Bible, Satan does not take shape as an actual “bad” person until the New Testament). In fact, modern Christianity’s impression of the “Devil” is shaped by conflating Hellenized mythology with a literary tradition rooted in Dante’s Inferno and accompanying spooks and superstitions going back thousands of years. Whether Catholic, Protestant, Mormon, Scientologist, Atheist or Agnostic, we’ve spent a lifetime with these predominant icons and clichés. (Resource: Prof. Bart D. Erhman, “Heaven & Hell”).

So Here’s THE PROBLEM: The current level of fear and outrage is:

(1) Unjust, imposing and irrational.

(2) Disproportionate when taken into account a lifetime of harmful Christian propaganda, anti-gay preaching and political advocacy.

(3) Historically inaccurate concerning the existence of “Hell” and who should be scared of going there.

The above short list chronicles a consistent, literal, demonization of LGBTQ people, contempt for their gender presentation, objectification of their bodies/sexuality and a coordinated pollution of media and culture over the last 50+ years by clergy since integration and Civil Rights legislation. Basically terrorism. Popes, Bishops, Pastors, Evangelists, Politicians, Television hosts, US Presidents, Camp Leaders, Teachers, Singers & Entertainers, Coaches, Athletes and Christians of all types all around the world have confused and confounded these issues, suppressed dissent, and confidently lied about LGBT people-including fellow Queer Christians with impunity for generations (i.e. “thou shall not bear false witness against they neighbor” Ex. 23:1-3). Christian majority viewpoints about “laws” and “nature” have run the table in discussions about LGBTQ people in society-so much that we collectively must first consider their religious views in all discussions and the specter of Christian approval -at best or Christian condescension -at worst. That is Christian (and straight) privilege. People are tired of this undue deference to religious opinions.

That is what is so deliciously bothersome about Lil Nas X being loud, proud and “in your face” about his sexuality. If for just a moment, he not only disrupts the American hetero-patriarchy but specifically the Black hetero-patriarchy, the so-called “Black Church Industrial Complex”, Neo-Christian Fascism and a mostly uneducated (and/or miseducated) public concerning Ancient Near East and European history, superstitions-and (by extension) White Supremacy. To round up: people are losing their minds because the victim decided to speak out against his victimizer.

Additionally, on some level I believe people are mad at him being just twenty years old, out and FREE as a self-assured, affirming & affirmed QUEER Black male entertainer with money and fame in the PRIME of his life. We’ve never, or rarely, seen that before in a Black man in the music business and popular culture. But that’s just too bad for them. With my own eyes I’ve watched straight people, friends, Christians, enjoy their sexuality from their elementary youth to adolescence, up and through college and later marriages, often times independently of their spouses (repeatedly). Meanwhile Queer/Gay/SGL/LGBTQ people are expected to put their lives on hold while the ‘blessed’ straight people run around exploring premarital/post-marital/extra-marital sex, love and affection, unbound & un-convicted by their “sin” or God...only to proudly rebrand themselves later in life as a good, moral “wholesome Christian” via the ‘sacred’ institution of marriage with no questions asked.

Inequality defined.

For Lil Nas X, everything about the society we've created for him in the last 100+ years (re: links above) has explicitly been designed for his life not to be his own. According to these and other Christians (see above), his identity is essentially supposed to be an endless rat fuck of internal confusion, suicide-ideation, depression, long-suffering, faux masculinity, heterosexism, groveling towards heaven, respectability politics, failed prayer and supplication to a heteronormative earthly and celestial hierarchy unbothered in affording LGBT people like him a healthy, sane human development. It’s almost as if the Conservative establishment (Black included) needs Lil Nas X to be like others before him: “private”, mysteriously single, suicidal, suspiciously straight or worse, dead of HIV/AIDS ...anything but driving down the street enjoying his youth as a Black Queer artist and man. So they mad about that?

Well those days are over.

The spiritual supporting pillars of the world’s societal structure were essentially demolished on 9/11…symbolically, allegorically, ritualistically and literally. It was quite a sinister “stroke of genius” and so exemplifies how these dark controllers operate. This is why the wake up to 9/11 Truth is so shocking to people’s systems and they just can’t handle it. It’s overwhelming, which it was designed to be. And so the vast populace rolls over and buries its head back in the sand... Tell A Big Enough Lie …and you’ll eventually get exposed. So full of lies are these controllers it’s beyond the grasp of normal sentient beings. And they revel in the power of that. It’s amazing they can be so brash yet hidden in plain sight. The Twin Pillars Archetype, The effect of occult (hidden) symbolism on the human psyche is a nicely kept secret. Even though psychologists such as Carl Jung have written extensively on this and it’s clearly pointed out by the esoteric community. People just do not realize they are daily the subject of the sophisticated manipulation of these terribly powerful symbols. Like scientific breakthroughs are garnered by the military, these elite psychopaths have to weaponize everything, instead of using it for the betterment of humanity and our world. “Signs and symbols rule the world, not words nor laws” – Confucius There’s much more to this subject. And it wasn’t just Freemasons involved in all this, but they’re a major arm that encapsulates a belief system much of the Illuminati share. Members of this dark cabal are almost always associated with some sort of secret society or practice like Freemasonry or witchcraft, often under a religious cover like the Vatican, Mormonism or Evangelical groups. Rothschild Zionists use both the religious cover and the financial “institution” to disguise and justify their perfidy. At the occult level the 9/11 event was a ritual, empowered, as is often the case, by performing human sacrifice. These same tactics are used constantly on an unwary public at many levels. The lie is exposed, the spell is broken and the illusion loses its power over you. But the secret weapon of 9/11 was this: it was riding high on the amplified occult, symbolic preparation of not just decades, seeing the “twin towers” as a symbol of world commerce and the “triumph of the human spirit”, but seeing “twin pillars of society” throughout architecture and logos and literature for millenia, both conscious and subconscious, being destroyed before their eyes, over and over and over. In Revelation 9:11, and please note the time code as well as the number code of 911, Abbadon is described as the Destroyer, the Angel of the Abyss, the King of Plague of Locusts, resembling horses with crowned human faces, women’s hair, lion’s teeth, wings, iron breastplates, and a tail with a scorpion’s stinger, that torments for five months anyone who does not have the Seal of God on his forehead. It is clear that this is a Demon, Fallen God or Black Star, that is directly connected to powering up the Armageddon Software through the Yahweh Matrix. The Black Star Abbadon in the center of the Milky Way is what holds together the 666 Beast Configuration, along with the Yahweh Matrix that creates the Inorganic Four, the Yod-Hay-Vod-Hay system. This system feeds off of living creatures and sends the life force back to the black hole entities. As we have been discussing the shift that has been occurring with the Planetary Staff, the Planetary Staff of earth was tilted in order to align it to the Black Star Abbadon in the center of the Milky Way. This artificial axial tilt in the planet is shifting its alignment now. This shift has activated doomsday prophets wired into the Yahweh matrix that believe the current events are the sign of the alien God’s narrative, that the rapture is coming or that we are entering into the global Armageddon-Megiddo showdown, when we transition out of the final stages of the Piscean Alchemical Law. The current theme during the Paliadorian Activations is the clearing of the Yahweh Matrix and its blood covenant bindings out of the Human 12 Tribes genetic records, with the transmissions and support of the Blue Feathers of Aquaferion. As a result of dismantling this blood covenant network, those who are controlled by the Yahweh system will be agitated and activated to play out these mind controlled biblical dramas. Because the original 5D Ascension plan was not achievable becasue of the False Ascension Matrix and the damage caused through the False Navel and False White Webbing, it required our evolution through the time fields in the Harmonic Universes in the Universal Time Matrix to be drastically sped up. Those serving the Law of One, are moving through extreme amounts of the future timelines, observing its collapse, in order to arrive at the Gateway Octave where the Organic and eternal light is overriding the Artificial Machinery and replicated alien coding. False Timelines and False Software to Mind Control humanity was used to deter humans from their organic and natural ascension evolution. This is why this planet is called, “prison planet”. Meanwhile the negatives desperately cling on to the artificial timeline programs to influence humans through fear to manifest into their enslaved future selves as Negative Form. (Some examples: Nostradamus Prophecy, Armageddon Software, Pestilence Programming, 911 Military Industrial Complex Revolution, any terrorist and cataclysmic inorganic event generated by the Negative Aliens. None of these manipulated programs are sourced as “natural events”. ) Because the planet is ready to drop and collapse timelines from the previous 3D cycle where the planet is playing out the result of the Luciferian Rebellion from Atlantean time cycle, there is a struggle to dominate upcoming events that would influence these future timelines to be solely in Negative Alien or the NAA control. These are the creators of the teeth chomping technology of the Nephilim Reversal Grid (NRG). Comprising primarily of Fallen Elohim genetic lines, this reversal network was a rebellion to the hybridization attempts of Lyran-Elohim races, who were responsible in commissioning Nephilim races for genetic hybridization healing. The failure of that program, the banishment of Nephilim (The Giants) and killing of that race, resulted in Wars, and subsequently, the NRG was placed in the UK to reverse all hybridized genetics, especially any genetic material (like the Krystal DNA Silicate Matrix) that was designed to “unify” or “marry” genetics. The unification of polarity within genetics may evolve to Unity Field consciousness which is a part of achieving the Christos consciousness. There is a consciousness war to stop Krystal Star consciousness from potentially evolving and embodying in human beings on this earth. Of the “comic pages”, drawn between the defendants, there are clear, unacceptable, and unapproved depictions and portrayls and false tales of our local electric hedgehogs. So, yeah. The end of Sonichu 10 was not well received. The Asperpedia Four were upset at their untimely demises, and the general public was appalled at the sheer brutality of the situation. So, under the advice of his then newest sweetheart Jackie Romy, Chris unveiled a new ending to the issue wherein the brutal murders of the old ending were retconned away and the Asperpedia Four, while still punished, were allowed to live. Chris made a video of the then-uncolored pages in October of 2010, eight months after the original release. However, it wasn’t until late 2015, when Chris first began updating Sonichu 11, that the ending was colored and officially released. The preceding pages were also altered, completely changing Chris’s speech. Ironically, it replaced the apology to the Asperpedia Four that Alec had requested in one of his phone calls, and it spoke of Chris’s transgender reawakening that had occurred in the intervening half-decade, along with a weird tangent about the 21 December 2012 Mayan doomsday prophecy that turned out to be a red herring. Here’s the whole speech so I don’t have to repost the otherwise unchanged pages:

My adventures into the year 2015 has left me better informed of details. About all things of the Mayan calendar are not true. The world does continue on beyond 2013; the calendar is only going to be outdated, nothing else. I also have expanded my...mind by meeting myself; I had actually found myself and understood who I am on the inside; I am, and always have been, a woman, and a lesbian. There is no..."normal." This speech I believe is one of the final times Chris referred to himself as “Christian”, though he had gone full trans at this point. He got his name legally changed to Christine the next year and has never really looked back.

So, Chris’s brilliant plan to non-lethally punish the Asperpedia Four is to forcibly send them off to Amish country. Chris’s views on the Amish are not that unlike his views of Catholicism or Mormonism, that they are harmless but intense versions of his own faith, and the upcoming sequence shows incredibly little knowledge on how the Amish actually work. Let’s start with the fact that you can’t punish someone by forcing them to live among the Amish. He probably could keep the Asperpedia Four under house arrest in their own houses, but not forcing them upon a community in the way that he does here. While a step sideways when it comes to legality, it is at least a less gruesome end, thus this remake was much better received.

the funny thing about Joseph Smith and that whole religion is that not once did he let anyone see the golden tablets. He found them buried in upstate New York and hid them from the world, and when he died, they died with him. Also, the Book of Mormon accounts for Jesus meeting with native Americans during his resurrection period, and yet I haven’t heard a single similarity between Christianity and native religions. But hey, they believe based on blind faith and a warm and fuzzy feeling

Friend...that is not the only funny thing about the religion. Please go find several of the books on the topic. They are mind numbing in their absurdity.

Smith was a con artist arrested numerous times for con jobs in New York. The “tablets” were, by his own admission, of dimensions too large to carry. The transcribed book of Mormon discounts the entire purpose of Jesus as Messiah, which is founded in the prophecy of Isiah. He could only appear where he did, because of that. But ask a Mormon about Isiah. See what they say.

They have a number of odd doctrines, including this one “As man is, God once was. As God is, man one day shall be.” And they insist that the 144,000 selected from the “tribes of israel” are a reference to them. Those few will be given their own godlike powers and world to rule, or something.

They also baptize dead people, something Paul strictly forbade, as Mormon, claiming that they asked to be baptized from the other side. They make their religious decisions based on indigestion...

The list goes on and on. For a long time, they had prohibitions against all drugs, including caffeine.

Until the church bought stock in Pepsi.

Oh and...one of the largest fraud/murder cases in the history of Utah, was due to a fraud and forger, who conned the church into purchasing a false old letter that he himself penned, which depicted Joseph Smith taking instruction and revelation from a talking Salamander. The church obviously didn’t want that getting out. So they bought the letter after it had been authenticated. The con artist later performed a number of bombings to hide some of his other crimes. But the point is...

That is an odd and very conflicted faith on many points.

“The confession of General Cornwallis to General Washington at Yorktown has been well hidden by historians. History books and text books have taught for years that when Cornwallis surrendered his army to General Washington that American independence came, and we lived happily ever after until the tribulations of the twentieth century. Jonathan Williams recorded in his LEGIONS OF SATAN, 1781, that Cornwallis revealed to Washington that "a holy war will now begin on America, and when it is ended America will be supposedly the citadel of freedom, but her millions will unknowingly be loyal subjects to the Crown." Cornwallis went on to explain what would seem to be a self contradiction: "Your churches will be used to teach the Jew's religion and in less than two hundred years the whole nation will be working for divine world government. That government that they believe to be divine will be the British Empire. All religions will be permeated with Judaism without even being noticed by the masses, and they will all be under the invisible all-seeing eye of the Grand Architect of Freemasonry." And indeed George Washington himself was a Mason, and he gave back through a false religion what he had won with his army. Cornwallis well knew that his military defeat was only the beginning of world catastrophe that would be universal and that unrest would continue until mind control could be accomplished through a false religion. What he predicted has come to pass. A brief sketch of American religious history and we have seen Masonry infused into every church in America with their veiled Phallic religion. Darby and the Plymouth Brethren brought a Jewish Christianity to America. Masons Rutherford and Russell started Jehovah Witnesses' Judaism which is now worldwide with their message of the divine kingdom. Mason Joseph Smith started Mormon Judaism with its Jewish teaching of millennialism. At the turn of the twentieth century there appeared the Scofield Bible with a Jewish interpretation of the prophecies. With wide use of this "helpful" aid all the American churches have silently become synagogues. We now have Baptist Jews, Methodist Jews, Church of God Jews, apostate Catholic Jews, and many Protestant Jews throughout America. We are aliens in our own country because of false religion. All are praying for divine deliverance into that "Divine Government" which Cornwallis knew to be the British Empire. A false religion has been used to deceive us into allegiance to our enemies of Yorktown and Bunker Hill. No! Not a gun has been fired but the invisible and malignant process of conquering America with the Jew's religion has gone on unabated. The Union Jack has been planted in our hearts with religious deception. All has happened "legally," "constitutionally," "freely" and completely within our most sacred trust -- our churches. Religious deception is painless innoculation against truth. It cannot be removed from the conscience with surgery, yet it is the motivator of our actions and directly controls our lives. Once man gives over to false religion, he is no longer rational because he originates no thought. His life is controlled by whomever controls his religion. Our passage is often used by preachers to denigrate the preaching of the word of God. This is done not only by the anti-intellectual types, but even those who are widely known as champions of biblical preaching, when it comes to this and similar passages, would suddenly exalt holy example above preaching. Some of them would even quote the irrational anti-Christian slogan, "Actions speak louder than words," when the fact is that actions never speak at all. Rather, actions must be explained by words, but it is never necessary for words to be accompanied by actions in order to demonstrate their meaning, truth, and coherence.

We should make clear what we mean here. We do not deny that Scripture commands us to believe and obey the word of God. It requires us to both preach it to others and demonstrate its message and power before them in our lives. It condemns as hypocrites those who preach but do not practice what they preach. Let us keep in mind that we affirm all of this in what follows.

Problems arise when we make our example more important than our preaching, or to make the effectiveness of the proclamation of the word of God dependent on its demonstration. It is common for Christian preachers and writers to insist that our lifestyle is the most eloquent sermon, the most powerful apologetic, or something to that effect. Some goes as far as to say that, ''No one will believe you if your life does not match your message."

However, the Bible teaches none of these false ideas. It affirms that a godly example is important, but it never says that it is more important or more effective than the verbal message, nor is the message impotent without our godly example. The Bible requires our godly example as a moral necessity, meaning that we are morally required to practice what we affirm and preach. But it never presents our godly example as an intellectual or practical necessity. In other words, it never says that our ministry to others will be totally ineffective if we were hypocrites, or if we fail to practice what we preach. Still less does it permit sinners to ignore the gospel just because it is delivered to them by hypocrites.

Let us examine several relevant passages. These do not exhaust the list of relevant passages, but after looking at them, it will become evident how the others have been distorted as well.

Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 9:27, "No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize." He never says that his ministry would become ineffective if he fails to subdue his body, only that he himself would be "disqualified" before the Lord.

Related to this is the so-called "love chapter," which in fact mainly concerns the spiritual gifts. It says, "If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing" (1 Corinthians 13:1-3). He never says that the spiritual gifts would fail if believers exercise them without love, but he says that those who exercise the gifts without love would gain nothing. The person could still "fathom all mysteries and all knowledge," and the mountains are still moved.

Then, consider all the instances in Scripture where the people believed the gospel upon hearing it. They never had the chance to observe the lives of the disciples. How can anyone claim that the preaching is ineffective unless it is backed up by a godly life? No, Paul says that some people even preach Christ out of "selfish ambition" and to "stir up trouble for him" (Philippians 1:17). He does not say that the message would be ineffective, but he rejoices that Christ is being preached (v. 18). The gospel carries great power even if preached by a overtly wicked man. He shall reap fire and brimstone, but the Spirit can still use his words to convert multitudes without having a godly example to show them.

Jesus even tells his disciples to obey the message of the hypocrites: "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach" (Matthew 23:2-3). Truth is truth. God condemns hypocrisy – we do not deny that. But just because the one who preaches it does not live up to it does not excuse the one who hears it from believing it and obeying it.

Many unbelievers and apostates claim that they have rejected or discarded the Christian faith because of all the hypocrites that they see. Those preachers who exalt godly example over verbal presentation provide the excuse to perpetuate this kind of thinking, but what they should do is to oppose it. The truth is that only stupid people never believe hypocrites. They fail to make the simple distinction between what people say and what people do. As a result of their irrational thinking, and perhaps also moral arrogance, they refuse to examine what a person says to determine whether it is true. Instead, they conclude that a person who does not live up to what he says must also be saying the wrong things. Jesus is not so foolish – he makes the distinction very clear and teaches his disciples to do the same.

If no one else believes the truth, you believe the truth! If no one else lives for the truth, you live for the truth! Have some spiritual spine and moral courage. Never use other people's failure as your excuse. The coward's way out is to say, "He is a hypocrite, so he is not credible and his message must be false. He does not practice what he preaches, so I will not, either. He is a hypocrite, therefore I will remain a consistent and thoroughgoing sinner."

This was one of the things that I wondered about when I was little. I marveled at how "Christian" hypocrites could cause others to stumble. Of course the hypocrites were wrong, and Scripture even states that they were wrong in causing others to stumble. I understood that. But I also thought that those who stumbled for this reason must have been incredibly stupid people, and that their faith was never genuine in the first place. The message is true even if there are hypocrites. In fact, our message itself tells you that there would be hypocrites. So how stupid can a person be, to stumble over hypocrites? Thus both the hypocrites and those who stumble over them are culpable. They have no excuse.

Therefore, rather than allowing all the blame to fall upon the Christians, even the hypocritical ones, we must expose the fact that unbelievers are stupid for reasoning the way they do. The sinner is never exempt from believing and obeying the gospel message, since in rejecting it he sins by defying God's word – the hypocrisy of those who claim to be Christians (whether these are real Christians or not) is logically irrelevant. The preaching of the gospel alone provides a sufficient basis for faith, and the hearer is responsible for accepting it. It is often effective as well – there are those who, having been regenerated by God, perceive that the gospel is true despite the evil behavior of some professing Christians, and who then come readily to repentance and faith in Christ.

On the other hand, we cannot say the same thing about a moral example alone, although many people falsely believe that one may win others to Christ without giving priority to a verbal message filled with relevant information. The common misconception that one may be a witness for Christ primarily through his holy lifestyle does not originate from a careful exegetical study of Scripture, but it reflects the infiltration of non-Christian philosophies in the church.

What about our passage, and verses 1 and 2 in particular? Does it not say that the husbands who "do not believe the word, may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives"? Yes, but won over to what? To Hinduism? To Mormonism? Eventually, the wives or others must preach the message to the husbands. This either comes at the beginning, to be reinforced and made attractive by the godly pattern of living that the wives then demonstrate, or it comes after their life of submission and reverence has gained the attention of the husbands. That these husbands are said to be those who "do not believe the word" probably presupposes that they have already heard it and rejected the initial attempt at converting them.

Since the word has already been preached to them, this means that the husbands are fully aware that the "purity and reverence" of their wives are exhibited as Christians. Unless the word of God is preached to them, it would be impossible for the husbands to associate the good behavior of their wives to the Christian faith. Peter is indeed saying that godly behavior may sometimes be instrumental in conversion, but he presupposes the necessity of a verbal message. The reverent conduct of the wives is only the means by which God may use to cause some of the elect husbands to reconsider and then accept "the word" that they must believe to be saved.

Whether the preaching of the gospel comes before or after, it is without doubt the key in conversion, and not the godly example. In fact, whether it comes before or after the godly example, the husband could still reject the message. A number of verses later, Peter will say, "They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you" (1 Peter 4:4). So godly behavior does not automatically convict and convert. Some people might just "think it strange." Without an explanation, people would not even know what it means, why a believer behaves as he does, or what has caused the change in him. On the other hand, a husband could believe the message in spite of her wife's ungodly or hypocritical life. So the principle is a command for the wife, and not an excuse for the husband.[42]
