Lady B: English Breakfast Tea brewed with Lemon & a lemon loaf (eaten with a fork she brought from home) 🍰
Captain: English Breakfast tea, splash of milk, also maybe shortbread biscuits. 🫖
Pat: Earl grey, milk, sausage sandwich, egg bites with ham & cheese and a cinnamon swirl 🥮
Kitty: strawberry & cream frappe (cream base, no coffee) with vanilla whipped cream, Java chips and strawberry syrup. Also a birthday cake pop & a ham/cheese toastie 🍡
Mary: oatmeal & smooth orange Juice. Might also branch to a youthberry tea on particularly adventurous days. 🥣
Thomas: (hot) caramel macchiato (shaken) with double shot espresso con panna, one pump caramel and hazelnut syrup with vanilla whipped cream, white mocha sauce and a dolce de leche milk base. (Cold) a iced brown sugar cafe mocha/ salted maple mix with Java chips, vanilla foam, a pump of vanilla and hazelnut surup with a double shot expresso con panna. Mozzarella & tomato panini. 🍹

Prompt 1: Voracious
“More cake, dear?” Dulia-Chai giggled, watching the delicate little drahn practically inhale an almond cookie. “Pasta, that is what she needs.” Chai-Nuzz explained to those sitting at the table with great wisdom and aplomb. “Risotto al Nero, good stick to the ribs sort of food.” Dainty nodded eagerly either way, draining her cup of expresso con panna in four gulps. Alphinaud watched Dainty eat with a mixture of concern and slight amusement on his pointed features. Ryne and the Crystal Exarch swore that the change in Dainty was purely cosmetic, that her aether really was restored to absolute normal, but it was times like that that Alphinaud wasn't entire sure about that. She had always enjoyed her food and drink. It made perfect sense given how active she was a battle honed Warrior of 80th Rank that she would need far more sustenance than her delicate form would suggest to compensate for her aetherical expenditures. But Dainty’s appetite now seemed to have trebled since her appearance had come to so drastically resemble a Sin Eater. The residents of Eulmore gave the bone white skinned woman not even a second glance. Having lived alongside Sin Eaters for many years while Vauthry sat in control of the glittering city a drahn who happened to look startlingly like a sin eater was little cause for alarm. “Can I eat this?” Dainty asked, politely, pointing to the platter of fruit on the table. She wasn't entirely sure if it was solely decorative but that papaya was calling her name if it was edible. “Oh, yes! Do!” Dulia-Chai enthused and beamed as Dainty tucked in with voracious abandon. Dulia-Chai  was happy to provide Dainty with all the food and drink that the milk white skinned woman could desire. Anything for the woman her adored Alphinaud had described as “family in all but name.” Dulia-Chai's twinkling blue eyes landed on Alphinaud with a fond expression; “And more sweets for my sweet?” --------------------------------------------------------------------- @sea-wolf-coast-to-coast​

The Diversity of Traditional Italian Cuisine
Italian Cuisine is much more diverse than just Pizza
When we think of Italian food, most of us think pizza or pasta, but that misses the mark.  With roots reaching back to antiquity, authentic Italian food is all about the ingredients, put together to create rustic, simple and fresh cuisine.
Here are some examples of traditional Italian Cuisine.
Bruschetta

A favorite Italian appetizer, bruschetta is bread rubbed with garlic and olive oil and placed on a grill.  Then topped with tomato, onions and caramelized balsamic vinegar.  This tasty antipasto has its roots in southern Italy.
Insalata Capresse or Caprese Salad
A simple, flavorful salad of sliced mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil seasoned with olive oil; sometimes dressed with balsamic dressing.
Minestrone
Nothing is better on a cold night than a thick, warm bowl of minestrone.  This recipe has been around since the Roman Empire and has adapted over the years to fit the times.  Currently the classic minestrone soup includes vegetables and pasta together in a delicious, hearty soup.
Pesto
Similar to our chutney, pesto is a paste comprised of pine nuts, basil leaves, parmesan cheese and olive oil.  This aromatic combination is rustic and earthy, usually served with pasta or used as a dip or spread.
Carpaccio
Most recently acknowledged as part of Italy’s culinary heritage, carpaccio is typically served as an appetizer.  Invented in the 1950’s, this dish is named after an Italian painter, Vittore Carpaccio.  Made with thinly sliced meat, usually raw, with seasoning such as lemon, salt or vinaigrette and considered a rather discerning delicacy.
Arancini
With a crispy outside and a delicious gooey filling, this appetizer is made of deep fried risotto, usually filled with cheese, meat and tomato sauce.  The name means “little oranges”, presumably because that’s what they resemble.  The recipe came from Sicily after Arab invaders introduced rice to Italy.
Focaccia
A flat bread, usually made with dough similar to pizza crust, and olive oil.  Soft and luscious, this aromatic baked bread comes with toppings such as olives, sundried tomatoes and capers.

Pizza Ai Frutti di Mare
A typical Italian seafood pizza topped with squids, crab, lobster, shrimp, caviar, scallops, shellfish, clams, et al.  If you love seafood, this is the pizza you wouldn’t want to miss.
Calzone
Somewhat similar to the familiar hot pockets, this Italian street food resembles Spanish Empanadas or Stromboli.  Folded over pizza-like dough, stuffed with cheese and pizza toppings.  This baked favorite is a perfect on-the-go snack.
Pasta Aglio Olio
Translates to olive oil and garlic, this is a simple dish with only five ingredients.  Patience is necessary to infuse the oil with the ingredients; however, this delicious minimalistic entre is so worth it.  The pasta is tossed in the oily, flavorful sauce and garnished with parmesan cheese.
Risotto
Arborio rice, cooked in a dense broth, this dish has a silky texture as a result of the traditional slow cooking.  Rich, creamy and delicious, hearty Risotto originates in Milan.
Panna Cotta
A delicious Italian dessert, originating from Northern Italy.  Translates to cooked cream and traditionally chilled in ramekins to be served with coulis.  It will have a slightly jelled, supple consistency and should wobble but hold its shape until the last bite.

Gelato
Ice cream, in Italian.  An evolution of shaved, flavored ice first recorded as a favorite as far back as 3000 BC.  The difference today is the slow churning which gives gelato its creamy consistency and enhanced flavor.
Tiramisu
This decadent dessert translates to “pick-me-up”, presumably due to the caffeine in the ingredients.  Delicately crafted with expresso and Kahlua-soaked Saviordi biscuits, layered with mascarpone cheese and cocoa.  A sweeter option than coffee, Tiramisu has become a favorite in Italy and around the world.

It's a cinnamon dolce expresso con panna with cinnamon on top 🤤
Man I could drink about 5 of these but then my heart may explode 🤣
I recently have ditched the to go coffee and try to make mine at home instead its saved me so many carbs/calories/ sugar as well as MONEY
I use an almond milk whipped cream to top my expresso which is only 10 calories per serving I guesstimate and go ahead and say I use 2 servings but this stuff is awesome 😍

The one thing I didn’t count on was silence. The reluctance of people to talk about that recent period in their past. 'Surely fascism is dead now isn’t it? It’s 1958 for heaven sake!’ I thought to myself. Suddenly, an old man sat next to me. “You’re a journalist?” He said. He wore a coral red ring and spoke like the Venetians I met in Piazza St Marco. “I am,” I said confidently. “We are not fascists. We are a good people but easily lead.” He ordered two expressos, one with cream, he evidently had been watching and listening to me for some time. I was about to answer him when a young man, about 20, walked in. He was incredibly handsome. He had thick black hair that tumbled on the crown of his head like the base of a waterfall. Fluorescent light reflected on his curls as it did his coffee coloured skin. It was Grandad Giovanni, who broke the silence. “This is my Grandson, Giovanni. He is beautiful is he not?” I simultaneously shrugged and nodded. “But he is an idiot!” Young Giovanni looked injured and I exclaimed in shock, wanting to defend him myself. “Well it’s true,” continued Giovanni, “I said I would pay for him to go to study architecture, but he gets a modelling job for one week and now he wants to be a model! I predict he will be in this same Travestere bar in 60 years, talking to a young journalist like you about this very day. I love you my Grandson, but you are a fool, buildings last longer than good looks.” Young Giovanni stormed out, hurt and embarrassed. For many years, I often wondered what happened to that young man?

When we think of Italian food, most of us think pizza or pasta, but that misses the mark.  With roots reaching back to antiquity, authentic Italian food is all about the ingredients, put together to create rustic, simple and fresh cuisine.
Here are some examples of traditional Italian Cuisine.
Bruschetta

A favorite Italian appetizer, bruschetta is bread rubbed with garlic and olive oil and placed on a grill.  Then topped with tomato, onions and caramelized balsamic vinegar.  This tasty antipasto has its roots in southern Italy.
Insalata Capresse or Caprese Salad
A simple, flavorful salad of sliced mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil seasoned with olive oil; sometimes dressed with balsamic dressing.
Minestrone

Pesto

Most recently acknowledged as part of Italy’s culinary heritage, carpaccio is typically served as an appetizer.  Invented in the 1950’s, this dish is named after an Italian painter, Vittore Carpaccio.  Made with thinly sliced meat, usually raw, with seasoning such as lemon, salt or vinaigrette and considered a rather discerning delicacy.
Arancini
With a crispy outside and a delicious gooey filling, this appetizer is made of deep fried risotto, usually filled with cheese, meat and tomato sauce.  The name means “little oranges”, presumably because that’s what they resemble.  The recipe came from Sicily after Arab invaders introduced rice to Italy.
Focaccia
A flat bread, usually made with dough similar to pizza crust, and olive oil.  Soft and luscious, this aromatic baked bread comes with toppings such as olives, sundried tomatoes and capers.

A typical Italian seafood pizza topped with squids, crab, lobster, shrimp, caviar, scallops, shellfish, clams, et al.  If you love seafood, this is the pizza you wouldn’t want to miss.
Calzone
Somewhat similar to the familiar hot pockets, this Italian street food resembles Spanish Empanadas or Stromboli.  Folded over pizza-like dough, stuffed with cheese and pizza toppings.  This baked favorite is a perfect on-the-go snack.

Translates to olive oil and garlic, this is a simple dish with only five ingredients.  Patience is necessary to infuse the oil with the ingredients; however, this delicious minimalistic entre is so worth it.  The pasta is tossed in the oily, flavorful sauce and garnished with parmesan cheese.
Risotto
Arborio rice, cooked in a dense broth, this dish has a silky texture as a result of the traditional slow cooking.  Rich, creamy and delicious, hearty Risotto originates in Milan.
Panna Cotta
A delicious Italian dessert, originating from Northern Italy.  Translates to cooked cream and traditionally chilled in ramekins to be served with coulis.  It will have a slightly jelled, supple consistency and should wobble but hold its shape until the last bite.

Ice cream, in Italian.  An evolution of shaved, flavored ice first recorded as a favorite as far back as 3000 BC.  The difference today is the slow churning which gives gelato its creamy consistency and enhanced flavor.
Tiramisu
This decadent dessert translates to “pick-me-up”, presumably due to the caffeine in the ingredients.  Delicately crafted with expresso and Kahlua-soaked Saviordi biscuits, layered with mascarpone cheese and cocoa.  A sweeter option than coffee, Tiramisu has become a favorite in Italy and around the world.
