Alright guys, it's time. Submit your favourite Eurovision songs to this google form to help me create a bracket so we can determine Tumblr's favourite Eurovision song!

Rules for Submissions

You can submit as many songs as you want in your response, try to include the song title, artist, and year it was performed in.

Don't repeat songs in your submission - they'll only be counted once per person, and it's the songs that are submitted the most overall that will be added to the brackets

Eurovision songs only, at least for this bracket. Maybe in the future I'll do something with Melfest/Sanremo/etc. songs, but if it didn't represent a country at Eurovision itself this isn't the bracket for it. If the song was disqualified before being performed at either the semi finals or the grand final, it won't be counted either.

This does not apply to songs from 2020, you are free to show them all the love they deserve!

You have until 12:00 GMT (midday) on Sunday 26th February to submit your favourites, so reblog this post to get a bigger audience and submit as many songs as you can think of before then!!

I will be posting the polls over on @eurovisionbracketing, but I haven't set that blog up yet more than grabbing the URL so I'm posting it here where a) I have followers that will see it and b) I have a profile picture so y'all don't think I'm a bot and that the link is spam or malware

Welcome to the Eurovision Song Bracket!

This will be a fairly large bracket, consisting of two "teams" of 68 songs for a total of 136 competitors!

The first team has been preselected, and will consist of all previous winners or popular vote winners if applicable.

This means that if your favorite song won, you do not need to submit them (a couple of exceptions apply, see list at the bottom/read more for details)

Submissions are closed!

Rules!

- Entries must have been a part of the main competition of Eurovision of any year (I might do a MGP mini bracket if the people want that)

- Once again, you do not need to submit winners, they are (mostly) automatically in. Again, see bottom for details and explanations.

- You may submit multiple songs, but please don't send the same song over and over.

- Propaganda is highly encouraged! There is a spot for it in the submission form, and adding it on to the poll itself or sending an ask is also allowed. You may send a DM, but I'll probably be slow to respond that way.

How it Works!

- There will be multiple brackets of 34 songs

- Each of the preselected winners will be randomly against one of the submitted songs. Pairings will be decided through number assignment and a random number generator.

- Vote for your favorite! I will include links to the songs in the poll so you can listen to both before voting. The winner will move onto the next round until we find the winner of that bracket.

- Once all brackets are complete, the winners of their individual brackets will go onto the finals to determine the (unofficial) Ultimate Eurovision Song Winner!

- There will be a preliminary around, as 1969 (hehe nice) had a four way tie, so we will need to determine which of those four will represent that year!

Wake up babe, new bracket just dropped

We'll be doing the Decades Tournaments after this current one is finished.

Due to the fact that there are only Four years in the 50s to gather songs from, I've went ahead and included: - almost all of 1956 (because it was the first year and tbh I lost track) - the top 7 of '57, '58, and '59

Put all those through a random bracket generator, and here is our line up!

Man those are some long names! I had to double the canvas size of my bracket to hold them all! I'll add a written down list of which songs are going up against each other soon!

For now, please submit your favorite songs from throughout the years! I'm hoping for 32 from each decade, so please submit them even if you think someone else already has! you'd be surprised!

Quarter Finals - Poll 3

“SHUM”(Ukraine, 2021)

Propaganda -Green arms ftw; it's Slavic folk techno! I believe it was the first song to compete in Eurovision that was completely in Ukrainian (their previous 2020 entry would have been if it was not canceled). It was also the first Ukrainian Song to chart on Billboard global 200. The song, I feel, is an amazing song for Eurovision. It is electro folk, a wondrous combination of both historic culture, and modern culture. It also includes the use of a non English language, which I know is often a hit here, and something I feel is important to Eurovision itself, actually coming together by accepting each other when someone is showcasing their own culture. The song itself was intended to be different and more accurate to the folklore and songs it was based on, but was edited to fit Eurovision more while still having some of that meaning. Regarding the performance beyond the music there is some gorgeous choreography and symbolism done during the performance.
