Happy STS! I’m currently obsessing over this myself, so I’ve decided to infect others with it too~ In a Kid AU of Something Wicked, what would the characters look like? who’s the kid(s) and who’s the caretaker(s)? Do they all hang out together or form cliques? What age range do you pick? Go wild!

Aaahh!! Okay I love this question because I've explored several instances with kid Jade, Caz, and Vi.

See this AU set in the 1990s in which a toddler Violet is accidentally kidnapped by Caz and Lila

And also this backstory for Caz as a young boy being scared by local vampires

I also have a scene cut from an early draft of Something Wicked of angsty teen Jade:

“Well I don’t care what you want,” the witch said drily. “But humor me. Why is it so important, Jade Shaw, that I train you?”

“I’ve done my research,” she had responded, sticking her hands into her baggy black jeans. “I’ve already mastered spells those 18-year-old witches couldn’t even dream of.”

“Wonderful,” the woman said blankly. “But that doesn’t mean I should be training you.”

“There’s something else,” the teenager added, a determined glare in her eye as the light glistened off the safety pin in her nose.

“What?”

“I - I think, no, I know - I can predict the future.”

I also attempted to write an incident in which Baba Yaga turns Caz and later Jade into children (it's her more ethical sourcing of kids to eat, by turning adults back into children)

Jade grinned wickedly.

“You’re itty bitty,” she said, pinching his cheek.

“Stop it,” he said, waving her hand away. “I’m a 618-year-old vampire who could snap your neck if I wanted to. Don’t pinch me,” he squeaked out.

Caz winced as her voice went up in pitch.

“My hearing’s above-average, remember, Jade? There’s no need to shout like that.”

“I hate this! I hate this! I hate this!” the six-year-old continued, pulling at her overalls. “Look at what she put me in! I hate pink!”

He snorted , a smirk growing at the corner of his mouth.

“What, Caz?”

“I’m sorry, but - but,” he grinned. “You’re just so darn cute!”

Also I have had this idea in my head for a while of some sort of mental/magical realm in which Jade and Caz have to face their younger selves for some reason that I have yet to write (it probably would not fit with the actual story). But basically, Caz would be a snot-nosed, whiny kid with sad blue eyes and a cowlick of blond hair who decides he is going to protect his new best friend he found in the woods — a dark-haired little girl who is very quiet and probably chewing on her hair while she glares at everyone. The reason he has to protect her is because there is a vampire and a witch in the woods, and everyone knows those are evil, right?

i should rework my fantasy novel i was writing.... those were some really fun characters but i think the setting i chose was making things difficult for me. maybe i should rework the setting so it's less renfaire and more like nimona or shrek or something. but they were fun characters !!!! i need to come up with a plot that's not just Vibes u know. you understand </3

juniper is a homeschooled girl that suddenly develops the ability to see other people's current dangerous situations in her mind's eye. like premonition but That's Happening Now!!! she's very nosey and she will tell others about their problems that aren't her business before doing anything about her own. she's 17.

lila is juniper's adoptive mother and she's trying very hard to do right by juniper but it's difficult when she's trying to justify her husband's abuse of her and neglect of juniper at the same time </3 she wanted to be a singer. she's 52.

manfred is an abusive possessive entitled misogynist. yep. he's 54.

mateo is a guy from texas that got isekai'd into this fantasy world to be a side character smh... he also got turned to a vampire. traumatically. he really hates that he needs to drink blood now and he hates the violence necessary to obtain it. he's really into herbal medicine. he's 30.

prince zenith is the prince of their kingdom and more importantly mateo's husband (not legally but they're committed so why not say that!!!). he has the ability to drain the life from anything and anyone living by simply laying eyes on them and willing it. he's very devoted to mateo to the point he'll compromise most his morals for him. luckily mateo has his own pretty sound ethics. zenith goes as far as to commit murders *for* him so that mateo can drink the blood from the bodies. he tries to only target predators and abusers. but y'know. something something judge jury executioner... he's 29.

titanium!!! or "tani" (tay-nee). she's a swordswoman who duels as public entertainment. she chose to enter the public eye far too young for it to be a good idea. she's honed her craft and has never lost an official match, earning the title "the unbreakable woman." she's a perfectionist, a tad standoffish, and uses most the money she makes from dueling as entertainment to help her family and friends. she asks her moms for permission before doing pretty much anything. (her parents may be a tad too permissive....) she's 17.

they were so funnnn but i'm honestly not sure what i was trying to say with them. anyway. them <3
