After a couple of minutes Ethan lifted him up holding his thighs, “You, and your insane needs,” Noah exclaimed feeling heated hands on his thighs. He was looking yearnfully to the erect dick before his face. He kissed it slanting his head and looking at Noah. 

“It’s better to keep lust near your lips with a high head,” Ethan responded to him. Movement of his lips over Ethan’s dick was provoking him Noah giggled and then laughed.

“You are so beautiful,” caressing his cheekbones he whispered and then biting the tip of his nose.

“Let me,” saying this Noah slithered from under his body from downside, expanding his legs. However, as Noah’s face reached to his loins Ethan pressed his dick over his face.

“I said no,” his plea was mixed.

“Don’t be a bull,” chewing his balls with his lips Noah groaned. Feeling the pain in his balls, Ethan immediately pulled his loins up and Noah slipped perfectly out of it. Getting on his elbows he spanked his ass, “You naughty ass, I’m coming in a second,” and Noah ran towards his boxer.

Ethan turned to take hold of him again, but Noah was out of his reach. “Shit,” in anger he slammed his palm against the pillow.

Chuckling Noah slid his boxer up, “Holy shit,” he mimicked him. Adjusted his cock and showed him his fully erect cock, “Coming in a second, honey,” and he opened the bedroom door.

“Ding-dong,”

“Return now,” Ethan, shouted in command, but Noah ignoring his words, Noah ran towards the main door.

“Ding-dong,”

Ethan watched Noah going away from him toward the main door.

“Yeah, Yeah. I’m here,” Noah, whispered sliding down the door’s bolt.

The smile on his lips was lost in fear and surprise, the blood in his veins chilled. Noah felt like someone buried him under a glacier. He found Ethan at the door smiling devilishly. Ethan shouts, “Where were you?” stretching his hand, he pulls Noah towards him. He presses his lips over Noah’s, but Noah was unresponsive. He caressed his lips with his thumb, “What’s up, babes? Nobody asked but here’s some Winters Family headcanons for my Ethan Lives AU:

> Ethan has had a lifelong bee sting allergy that, for unknown reasons, remained after his megamycete infection. He’s super pissed about the fact that he’s still allergic. (”I can reattach limbs but I might still need an epipen if I get stung by a bee? That’s BULLSHIT”)

> This does evolve into him finding some humor in his infection by complaining about all the minor inconveniences he still has to deal with despite being able to re-attach limbs (for example: crying while chopping strong onions, the pain of getting hand sanitizer in a paper cut, random back pain).

> He eventually gets a prosthetic to replace his lost left hand.  Yes, he will pop off his prosthetic and pass it off to people who ask for a hand. It took Chris three separate times to learn that he has to directly ask for what he needs help with, otherwise Ethan is going to keep doing it.

> Speaking of, while Ethan has elected to forgive and move on for all the mistakes made in both Europe and Dulvey, he’s a bit slower to get back into the same groove with Chris. It’s less the secrets and more the persistent mental image of Chris shooting “Mia” that’s the roadblock. Even knowing it was Miranda in disguise didn’t help, because she still looked like his wife, and it triggered his old “losing Mia” trauma from six years previous. He’s able to move past it, but it’s a process (there’s a lot of therapy involved).

> Mia’s medicine regime isn’t just for psychological conditions. She’s also on medication for a tremor in her hands that developed after her infection was cured, likely caused by the fungal growth in her brain. It is well-managed with medication, but she’s still careful when holding Rose or handling anything dangerous.

> She also still has gaps in her memory after Dulvey. The memories of everything that happened before the ship crash were the first to come back (which is part of what allowed her to give information to the BSAA), but the memories of what happened during her years in the Baker house have been slowest to return (understandably).

> She and Ethan 100% get marriage counseling after Europe (for reasons that will be explored in fanfic along with the obvious ones). The good news is by now, there are several counselors who have worked with anti-bioterrorism unit members and outbreak survivors, so the weird shit they have to work through isn’t that weird comparatively.

> Rose develops some bad separation anxiety post-Europe and has verbal language delays. They end up teaching her sign to help her communicate, which has the nice added benefit of making her bilingual.

> While she has no vivid memories of what happened in Europe, the megamycete hivemind gave her a broad strokes idea of what happened (along with some information about Dulvey that seeped through). Her biggest takeaway is that Ethan would do anything for her and will always keep her safe. Between that and a slight but obvious “psychic” bond between her and Ethan as a result of their shared infection, she trusts him more than pretty much anyone.

> Ethan starts working from home once he’s ready to work again. Rose doesn’t actually know what he does (it’s just remote tech work, nothing that would interest a kid), so the few times she’s been asked she just tells people her daddy kills monsters. Ethan has been able to turn this around by passing it off as “computer viruses, she means computer viruses.”

Actually, before I go to do fic edits, here’s another random batch of headcanons for the Ethan Lives AU:

For long car trips, Mia prefers to drive. Ethan is perfectly fine with this and very good in his role as navigator. 

Jill and Carlos usually trade off driving. They’re both equally good drivers, but Jill is more likely to cuss when people don’t use their turn signal.

Leon avoids driving whenever possible--not because he’s aware of his reputation for crashing things, but because he doesn’t really like it. Like, he’ll DO IT, but if someone else offers to drive, he’ll take it.

Ethan took up archery post-village. He went on a kick of going back to things he enjoyed as a kid/teenager to see if they could still give him some joy, and he was pretty decent at it in summer camp. As an added bonus, more options for weaponry should anyone try to mess with him.

Rose picks it up too as she gets older.

Jill learned to knit during her post-Wesker recovery. Carlos has a sweater she made him that he values more than some of the actually expensive things he owns.

She and Carlos don’t have wedding rings for a while. They figured with their career being not really jewelry-friendly, and creating a lot of enemies, it would be too risky. They did get them eventually when they stepped back from the BSAA.

Ethan never does end up wearing his wedding ring on his robot hand. He’s worried it will get stuck. It stays on his right hand.

Mia was usually the big spoon Pre-Dulvey, as Ethan likes being held and she was always a bit hesitant about feeling restrained or crushed while cuddling. Post-Dulvey it’s more of an even split, because being held helps her to feel more centered when she’s having a bad mental health day and struggling to accept that she’s actually free of that place. Meanwhile, it’s reassuring for Ethan because it feels like he’s shielding/protecting her.

Absolutely obsessed with this concept I came up with for my Ethan Lives AU that, in this nebulous friend group of RE protagonists, the Winters family are the normal ones.

Okay, so, I just replied to a post with this information, but now that I’m thinking too much about this, I want to run my theory past other people, especially since I can sometimes miss fine details and other people might’ve picked up something I missed. So, for the consideration of the fandom, here is my working timeline of How Shit Went Down With Miranda And Rose (based off the information that I know is in the game and a healthy dose of speculation). Under a cut for length (as it usually is with me).

Unknown point after Biohazard: The BSAA is infiltrated by a mole from the Connections. I don’t think the exact timeline on this matters; the presence of the mole is the most important thing.

Now, this is speculation on my part, but I’m assuming they moved to Europe sometime after Mia found out she was pregnant (which probably would’ve been late 2019/early 2020). There’s nothing concrete that I know of to prove this, but a) Ethan always discusses the move as something they did to give Rose a chance at a normal life, b), they’re established enough to have a doctor in the area, work for Ethan, and be mostly unpacked (aside from that one junk room they haven’t deep cleaned), BUT c) it’s recent enough that the move, combined with the pregnancy, still feels very sudden and new to Ethan.

Unknown point during Mia’s pregnancy: Mia starts having her suspicions about Rose being different. We can establish this based off the Benevientio House hallucinations, where the radio plays Mia having a startled reaction to Rose having such a strong kick.

Aug. 2, 2020: Rose is born (established by the Medical Checkup you can find in the Winters house at the start of the game).

Unknown point between Aug. 2, 2020 and Feb. 6, 2021: Rose undergoes some test, and the results mention that “Results for additional fungal pathogen tests will be provided by BSAA.” (Same Medical Checkup File that establishes her date of birth.) If I had to guess, this all probably happened in late January, but this is more speculation. The file isn’t dated, unfortunately, but based off the evidence below, late January makes sense.

Early February: The fungal tests come back positive. Again, this is nothing we have a solid date for, but based off evidence in the next bullet point, I’m gonna guess early February. This is most likely when the Connections mole found out about Rose (though put a pin in that thought).

Feb. 6 (?), 2021: Ethan and Mia have an argument that is started by a phone call from her doctor. The call, specifically, says that they want to discuss some “test results” next Thursday (possibly Feb. 11 if we go off the IRL calendar). This is the reason why I think the fungal tests came back as positive in early February. The question mark is because I’m not clear on if the fight takes place on the 6th or if it took place the day before; Ethan’s diary entry discussing what I assume is the same fight is dated the 6th, but that doesn’t mean he wrote it the same day. I should also note for clarity that the flashback fight and the diary fight might NOT be the same fight, but the mention of wanting to discuss test results for Rose leads me to believe they are. (It’s possible those test results are the ones we see in the checkup file, in which case the flashback fight could’ve happened earlier? In that case, I’d say flashback fight is sometime the week of Jan. 24, and they receive the checkup results Feb. 4, which takes place two days before the diary fight. However, I still think Feb. 5/6 is the best start of the gap I’ll discuss in the next point due to some differences in behavior between Miranda and Mia, again see below.)

This gap right here between Feb. 5/6 and the start of the game is most likely when Miranda had Mia kidnapped and took her place. The most concrete evidence I have of this is the difference in temperament between Mia in the flashback fight and Miranda-As-Mia; Real Mia is definitely defensive, frustrated, and more in line with the “exploding” Ethan discusses in his diary. That’s a stark contrast to how Miranda behaves, namely dismissive (”[Dulvey] was so long ago”) and condescending (”yOu’Re BeInG pArAnOiD”). She snaps at him once, but she’s mostly just bitchy (not the same thing as explosive). Flashback!Mia also expresses concern about Ethan that Miranda wouldn’t have bothered expressing (I have another post covering this if anyone is interested), and also, Ethan probably would’ve noticed eventually, so a shorter time span makes sense.

Feb. 8, 2021: The start of the game; Miranda fakes her death, then attacks the convoy carrying her, Rose, and Ethan (Ethan’s first entry in the diary he keeps throughout the game is dated at dawn on Feb. 9, and Chris shows up at dinnertime, so things really kick off on Feb. 8).

Now the reason I wanted you to put a pin in the “most likely when the Connections learned about Rose” thing is that we don’t have a clear idea as to when Mia realized Ethan was probably a mold hybrid, or how she confirmed her suspicions. If it was something she did on the sly through the BSAA, that might’ve tipped off the Connections mole, and lead them to more closely watch her during the pregnancy. Even without that, they might have suspected something would be up with Rose based off everything else going on, but it was only once she was confirmed as a mold hybrid that Miranda made a move to take her.

As to why Miranda didn’t make a move earlier...most likely she knew she had to be careful, since the BSAA (and most importantly, Chris Freakin’ Redfield) was monitoring the family. That and she probably wanted to wait until she knew for sure Rose was worth the time and effort before striking. Honestly, you could make the argument that she replaced Mia early in the day on Feb. 8, as the game taking place over two days would account for Mia’s roughed up appearance when Chris finds her, but I see nothing wrong with leaving the gap open to interpretation so people can tweak it depending on their fanfic needs.

Also, full disclosure, I am aware that the Resident Evil fandom dot com wiki presents a slightly different timeline than mine, but their sources aren’t cited, so it’s probably another fandom reconstruction that viewed the evidence differently than me. I am open to criticism or alternate theories, though NGL, I fully expect that there’s never going to be a concrete fully “canon” picture of what happened because video game timelines are a hot mess in general and I’m not sure how much thought Capcom put into this other than “this is what happened, exact dates and details don’t matter, just go fight the big monster lady.”

Random tidbits and dynamics for my Ethan Lives AU, featuring all the other non Ethan Winters Duology characters:

Carlos has the questionable honor of having seen a side of Chris that only two other people have ever seen: namely, he is fully capable of being the most annoying shithead on the planet when he puts his mind to it.

He didn’t know marrying Jill would mean getting a pseudo older brother but here he is, stuck with Chris.

Leon straight up doesn’t know anything about what Ethan went through for the first chunk of their friendship. While he is a bit stunned when he finds out the full truth, his first response is, “So...why didn’t you just pop the left one back on?”

The first (and, for a while, only) time Ethan ever heard of Ada was Carlos referring to her as “Leon’s ex”, leading him to think for a very long time that they had actually dated. His reaction to finding out the truth is understandable bafflement.

“I was thinking messy breakup not whatever the fuck you just said.”

Every single person in the friend group has said a curse word in front of Rose. Every one of them. She fortunately learns the concept of what an “adult word” is pretty quickly and isn’t a habitual swearer as a child.

Carlos and Ethan are secretly in a competition to see who can be the biggest Wife Guy.

Zoe and Jill for “same hair” club.

They never openly talk about it, but there’s a definite bond between Carlos and Mia for their shared bioweapons manufacturer employment history. Of course, Mia would argue she was way more morally culpable than Carlos was, but they’ve tasted the same flavor of guilt, so the “same hat” feeling is there. (There’s actually more to that friendship, but I don’t want to spoil my own fics.)

Some more extended cast Ethan Lives AU headcanons I forgot to share last night:

Inside jokes among the friend group include “which one of us is Carlos’s favorite white boy this week”, Ethan’s “need a hand” routine, increasingly ridiculous speculation about where the US government sent Leon this time, and Carlos, 48, never learned how to read.

The last one is due to him having undiagnosed ADHD, which means he does, in fact, struggle with reading. And impulse control. And schedules, when left to his own devices. (It would, however, be inaccurate to say that Jill is 90% of his impulse control. If anyone tried to argue otherwise, he would immediately point out that’s his wife, not his babysitter, he gets by fine on his own, thanks.)

Top three people with worst and most indecipherable handwriting in ascending order of badness: Mia, Carlos, Chris freaking Redfield.

The most fascinating part of watching Ethan and Leon interact is how they can quickly turn into a feedback loop of increasingly snarky commentary about...pretty much anything they mutually don’t like. It’s peak comedy if sass is your thing.

Ethan’s immediate response to Leon calling him “dad” as a joke was to start calling him “kid” or even more ridiculous 50s sitcom dad nicknames like “sport” or “champ” whenever he gets the chance. As a reminder, Leon is seven years older than him.

Zoe has some chickens and a rescue pit bull named Dump Truck (she didn’t pick the name). Truck is very friendly and sweet, but also dumb as you’d think a dog named Dump Truck would be.

Ethan is able to hold onto the Wolfsbane post-Europe, and the others are all really jealous of it.

They try to stay upbeat, but when the humor gets dark, it gets dark. Especially as Ethan gets more comfortable joking about some of the weirder shit he’s had to live through. He’s both weirdly comforted and deeply disturbed by the fact that the others have been through stuff just as weird or worse.

Leon: Weird cult with some bizzaro leaders and a friendy but odd merchant in Europe? Haha same. Ethan: haha what

Random headcanon time, but here’s some specific phobias for the Bioweapons Ruined My Life Friend Group:

Ethan and Leon both have hang ups about bugs.

Mia wasn’t claustrophobic before Dulvey, but after two different incidents of her being shoved into an underground jail cell, she is very claustrophobic now.

Pretty much all of the Raccoon City survivors have a thing about infection, but it manifests differently in each of them.

Carlos and Claire both have a bigger hang up around loved ones being infected and not being able to save them.

Jill still has recurring nightmares about either herself or a loved one being infected. She could get almost ritualistic about cleaning up after missions and  gets antsy whenever someone she knows gets sick, even if she knows it’s just a cold or a stomach bug or whatever.

Leon is arguably the least affected by this--honestly, he’s 99% sure that he’s immune to a few things--but if you were to try and threaten him with physical harm, trying to bite him would get more of a reaction out of him than anything else.

Jill, Mia, and Leon have a shared phobia of mind control.

Sherry and Ethan both worry about losing control and turning into some monstrous form, though it’s a less persistent fear for Ethan (it’s a real bitch when it surfaces, though).

Claire and Leon worry about Sherry with the same intensity that Ethan worries about Rose, to the point that when Leon finally hears about what Ethan did to protect his daughter, he was like, “Yeah, makes sense.”

Chris, of course, is neck deep in survivor’s guilt. It’s pretty much the strongest fear he has, overriding even concerns about infection or death. He’d face his own death a thousand times over without blinking, but the thought of anyone he cares about or is responsible for being in the same situation can be strong enough to make him do stupid shit.

Also nobody asked, but this is how I’m picturing the Cleon dynamic should I sneak it into more stuff like I’ve been sneaking in Valeviera:

Claire’s had a crush on Leon since Raccoon City, but never acted on it.

Leon more slowly fell in love with her over the years.

Neither of them realizes these feelings. They are deep in denial. Claire is convinced she cares about Leon the regular amount you care about a Very Good Friend and Leon is so up to his neck in nonsense in his day to day life that whenever he’s around her, he’s more focused on the fact that things are (usually) finally stable and safe and less on the fact that he’s in Love (and his on again off again romantic drama with Ada REALLY doesn’t help).

Everyone else knows. Like. Everyone. Sherry’s been shipping it since she was ten. Jill’s known Claire for as long as she’s known Chris, so she sees it. Carlos low-key lives for this kind of drama, so he definitely sees it. Ethan caught on pretty quick, and Mia’s not stupid, either. Literally the only people who don’t see it are Claire and Leon.

...and Chris, somehow Chris completely missed that his sister is in love with Leon Scott Kennedy. He is the last person to find out and everyone gives him grief for it.

In his defense, Chris is probably the kind of guy who needs to be beat over the head with someone’s romantic affections before he gets it, he does not have it in him to decipher the five dimensional emotional chess that is the Cleon slow burn.

Screw it, WIP Wednesday post. Currently jumping around between three fics because my life has gone bonkers and fanfic is a true solace in these trying times. Under a cut for length and spoilers (if fanfic spoilers are something people actually care about), but this covers my two active RE: Village fics and one of my God of War fics.

Here’s a bit from everything stays that actually isn’t for another few chapters but I could picture it clearly in my head so I started writing it:

Carlos couldn’t fall back asleep; not with the sound of crying still ringing in his ears. Rose’s tiny baby wails, confused, scared. Mia sobbing, each breath sounding like it was going to tear her apart at the seams. A song of sheer, agonized pain, one he was more than familiar with.

Three years, and you never cried once.

But in a way, that meant he recognized what Mia was feeling even more. Her reaction was the exact reason he hadn’t cried. He knew that if he did, he’d just come apart, never pull himself back together again. Three years, six months he’d spent holding back a scream, and in the end it hadn’t even mattered. He’d fallen apart anyway.

At least Jill had been there when he had—back from the dead, despite all the odds. Mia didn’t have that. Just mountains of responsibility and whatever emotional shit she was going through and Ethan still unconscious in a hospital bed. Holding on, despite everything (and Carlos was really looking forward to meeting this guy when he woke up, the man was clearly was tough as nails), but that wasn’t much comfort. It wouldn’t have been to him, anyway.

Next is one from milestones, where I’ll be covering Ethan’s (made up by me) birthday for the penultimate short.

On a whim, he grabbed his phone to check. He expected maybe something from Chris, the one most likely to know, but instead there was a text from, of all people, Leon. congrats on not dying with a thumb’s up emoji. Ethan laughed, startled. He’d almost forgotten the guy knew. It had only come up because he’d tried to pay them for letting him sleep at their place earlier in the month. It’s my birthday on the 24th, just send me something nice. Ethan had been joking, of course, but apparently Leon had remembered the date if nothing else.

And finally, one from firestorm, aka the Fallen God re-write:

Kratos wanted to tell him there was no need. That he would only stay as long as necessary and leave. That he had no intention of doing anything but recovering his strength. But he owed the man no explanation, so instead Kratos sat back down in his corner of the small house, eyes closed, breathing carefully. Hopefully soon, the heat would stop feeling so suffocating. As it was, even the brief time he’d spent outside made him feel like he was being cooked.

You need to be more careful when you leave, he thought. You cannot afford this kind of weakness again.

Then, I should have gone north. Perhaps the cold would have been more tolerable.

Yeah, Kratos, there are a lot of things up north that are ;) ;) pretty tolerable.

Some kinda sad Ethan Lives AU headcanons no one asked for, because I have no idea when my longer fics are going to be written but I want to share some Ideas I’ve had.

Ethan had shockingly little scarring after Dulvey, outside of the relatively thick scar around his left forearm and the thinner-but-still-obvious scar around his right shin. 

Many of his Dulvey wounds became a LOT more obvious after Europe, though. The reason is that, as his body initially started falling apart, the areas of old damage were the first to start calcifying/crystallizing along with the worst of his new damage. They had to clear away the crystallized tissue as he recovered, which meant the wounds re-opened, had to re-heal, and scarred worse after the fact. This has left him with a more obvious scar on his leg, scarring on the right corner of his mouth, and a scar across the bridge of his nose and along the back of his head.

A shared psychological hurdle for both Zoe and Mia (something I kinda referenced in a “milestones” short) is an aversion to meat. You do the math on why. Mia was basically pescetarian for a bit, but able to work her way up to eating meat as long as she buys and prepares it herself. Zoe is similarly hesitant with any non-fish meat she doesn’t know the origin of.

Joe’s been living with Zoe ever since Dulvey. He’s INTENSELY protective; Zoe would find that overwhelming, but after spending three years fending for herself in a house where people actively wanted to kill her, it’s nice to have someone care about her well-being.

Ethan sometimes thinks he can see little “seam” scars from where Rose was taken apart. This is objectively not true; she’s been examined by multiple doctors many, many times, and her body shows absolutely no signs of trauma. But the thought is still there.
