still kinda wild how jackalope just went "hey btw all guards are murderers. except hinode but he could become one" in the end of season 2 and miki's reaction was just "oh eiji-san is too good for that and asahi is still alive soooo" and jackalope was like "first of all he's still a murderer and second of all we all know asahi wasn't your victim" and miki was. okay with that. like no reaction at all. she was more focused on eiji. like this is a girl who has a lot of repressed anger, who has a reputation of being "better" than eiji and who "doesn't want to see the prisoners in pain", but when something goes wrong, it's really easy to make her jump to violence.
something about miki not being angry this time (or at least we can't hear her being angry) and just going "... anyway about eiji-san" is more scary in this situation i think. like hey bestie why are you more focused on your brother and this guard guy than your murder. hey what did you do. miki. miki i am speaking to you through your aviot x milgram earbuds please listen to me
also who did eiji kill

【✖】  LEGACY HALL BATTLE — S3E2
He had caught a glimpse of the accessories for his second episode when an intern had opened ta box and gushed about the items being real. He hadn't connected the dots until he glanced down at his cue-cards, lower lip trembling comically when he realizes that he had no choice in reading the script. It hadn't been too long of a pause, but he hears the producer whispering his name repeatedly to finish and transition into the first round.
His special guest for the second episode was not only someone he was lucky that he could refer to as one of his bestfriends, but someone that he held in high esteem too. He had met his friend during his secondary school years, but not much had changed about their contrasting personalities since. However, the two of them had learned to embrace and celebrate each other's differences, always upholding their non-verbal agreement to accept the other person without one-sided expectations of the other changing for the other. Unfortunately, Hyunsoo was the one that he couldn't selfishly convince to stick it out and become a performer with him.
"While our theme for today is unknown, our mission should be obvious to the viewers, don't you think, Hyunsoo?" He glances over at his friend, trying to convey to him that he hadn't written the script and he wanted to be edited out on the spot. If he looked over at the staff, he could have pointed out the intern cheesing with amusement and holding the flower crowns for him to take. He had asked for the interns to become more involved, but he hadn't mean this level of goofing off at his expense. He catches the flower crowns thrown at him, releasing a soft noise of shock when he realizes that the real flowers were more sturdy than he had expected. He hands one to Hyunsoo, placing the other on top of his head. "With our charming personalities and flower boy visuals, we will ensure to brighten your day! If you're not completely satisfied, leave a comme— Please do not leave comment, or do... but only with compliments. Let's start with our first round, shall we?"
Clue: A grainy picture of a sun rising with a blue and red signage peeking out on an angle on the bottom right corner.

XANDER: Off the Runway ⇀ Episode 002
sport: fencing. guest: @lgcaeri
in theory. everything differs in theory compared to reality. and after the first episode, maybe the leap into fencing was a broader jump than he’d thought. there’s the curious thought that fencing shouldn’t be that difficult, but it is an olympian sport after all. but he’s not trying to be an olympian here, but to do it casually. maybe there isn’t anything casual about fencing after all, as jisoo and aeri stand before the professional fencer who has willingly given up time in their day, that he feels a sense of building doom. the typical gym workout has made him realize that it’s so plain in contrast to the routine of other athletes. it’s intriguing. he’s enjoying the experience and though he could’ve been eating well ( which rieon will certainly do well with! ) in a mukbang, he could show this side of himself too. he hopes that it’ll actually showcase well on his channel, but even then, it’s his little baby, side project alongside his main project of his brand. his heart was full, even if his physique might be wavering at the thought of being in stances that he’s not accustomed to.
the camera pans from the instructor to the pair. the model is thrilled that aeri has found time out of her busy schedule to join him outside of acting workshops & him moping for auditions. they are listening to the instructor’s every word. “you use every muscle in your body. it’s not only working on your arms, or legs. your entire body is being utilized. we will start off with balance. typically we have an indoor training venue but i figured it would be fun to start outdoors with this structure for us all to see how well our balancing is. let me show you.... and then you follow, alright?”
jisoo steps up on what looks to be a slight balance beam, and he genuinely didn’t think he signed up to be a gymnast this week. he could barely recall if he could walk on these, never mind quickly in the fencing stance. moving at a snail’s pace, he looks up to where aeri is, and the instructor is far ahead, turning back to look at the both of them with an encouraging yet stern statement. “come on, give it a go!”

a boardwalk arcade at night, empty. the image is slightly distorted by VHS fuzz. [002] THE NEW DOOR. A CALLER DREAMS A NEW DOOR. THE HOST DOES HER LAUNDRY.

[Traveling Sales Rep: Don’t touch that dial! We’ll be right back, after these short messages.] [static, radio tuning]

Hello and welcome to Thin Places Radio. I'm your host, and it is the middle of the night. But don't worry. You're not alone.
[Thin Places theme intro]
I’m coming to you live from my studio, which is what i like to call this 24-hour laundromat with broken orange plastic chairs, rattly old AC, and, for some godforsaken reason, an arcade console, that’s not turning on. I’ve always liked laundromats - the neon stuttering in the window, clean-laundry smell, the white-noise of the washer-dryers, the almost-too-hot-stuffy air. It’s comforting. Like… a womb. Or a coffin.
What is Thin Places Radio? Well, you can call in about anything strange that you've got going on in your life. Do you hear your footsteps lag when you’re walking down that series of interconnected subterranean tunnels? Is there a ghost in your washing machine? Or, is there a padlock in your friends’ attic you can’t - or shouldn’t - open?
Call in, get it off your chest. Lines are open.
[click] [voicemail:]
“I'm calling because I just woke up after a dream where the house that I'm living in - the rooms were changing and rearranging themselves? Not the contents, but where they were in the house. Like I'd walk into where the kitchen used to be and it was a different room? Not necessarily. A room I'd seen before? And I thought it was just a dream, but when I woke up, I walked out of my bedroom and was making my way towards the bathroom. And I noticed a door I hadn't seen before. And I was wondering. Should I open that?”
[click]
Hi, caller - I’m so glad you left me a message. You never know when you might look at something you’ve seen for years, or maybe even your whole life, and realize that, suddenly, nothing is the way that you thought it was. The unheimlich. Something that should be familiar - your house - is unfamiliar. Something that should be unfamiliar - a new door - is actually something you recognize.
I’m usually okay with answers, but I don’t think I can answer this one for you. Because you can’t unring a bell. You can’t undream a dream. And you can’t unopen a door - even if you never go through it after all.
There are a thousand possible futures. There are a thousand possible yous in those thousand possible futures. But, here’s the thing - all of those yous are still you. All of those yous are still beloved, no matter what happens.
Should you open the door? I don’t know. Can you live with the unanswered question if you don’t?
[click] [searching music]
Right now, as you’re listening to this, an act of kindness is taking place. Acts of brutality, too, and desperation, and hopelessness, and hopefulness. But also kindness - the kind that comes for free, between strangers, with no benefit to be gained.
Somewhere, right now, a twenty-two year old is crying on the steps outside their apartment. They just moved to this city, and they’ve locked themselves out, but that isn’t why they’re crying. Their reasons are too big to articulate, and also too easy. A sixty-seven year old woman is walking past them. She understands feeling alone, a stranger to yourself and to everybody else. The twenty-two year old thinks it’s a kindness to be ignored, but it’s not. It’s just politeness. The woman fishes a packet of Kleenex out of her purse. “I won’t tell you to cheer up,” she says. The twenty-two year old blows their nose. “Cry as long as you’d like. But after you’ve finished, pick yourself back up. You are very strong, even though you wish you didn’t have to be.” And she nods. It’s what she would have wanted to hear. And, somehow, it’s what they needed to hear, too.
[click]
Something weird, listeners: megafauna! Why do you think moose are so big? It’s ‘cause of dinosaurs. Did you know that ancient rats were ten times the size of modern rats? I know this because I think I might be seeing the last remaining one sniffing its way along the shelves on the wall of this laundromat.
[click]
Alright, looks like the spin cycle’s done. And - huh. The ancient video game looks like it’s turned itself back on. It’s got the title flashing there now - POLYBIUS? Maybe I’ll play a few rounds while I'm waiting. Maybe I won't. Either way, the future’s wide open.
[click]
Thank you for listening, callers, and thank you for calling, listeners. I hope you feel a little bit lighter. I know I do. As always, our number is 717.382.8093. That's 717.382.8093. Until next time. I'll be here.

@therelentless from here     ✪  Astrid pondered for one second, wasn’t that kind of like the same? Well, not really... One second more and boom, the thought along had vanished because hey! She was cool to hang out with! Astrid beamed like a sun, even a little squeal escaped her.

To each of the prisoners: Define love.
To each of the guards: Define justice.
OH THIS ONE IS INTERESTING...
Akio: Do I have to answer this.. Why would you ask me that anyway? Is this because of the answer I gave during my second interrogation?.. Fine. I think love is.. Always staying by your lover's side. Never leaving them. Never betraying them. Always being honest with them. Being so loyal to them, you could die for them. Um.. Haha, so he never did any of those things..
Aimi: Hmm, I've never had a significant other, so it's hard to say, haha.. Well, I think love is when you two feel safe around each other! It's when you can trust your partner with anything and know that they won't break their promise and they won't leave you no matter what you do. And no matter what, they will never judge you. Ah, I think you can say the same about platonic and familial love too!
Shun: U-um.. Let's see.. Well, it's obviously going on dates and.. Uh.. Doing all the romantic stuff, y-you know?.. D-do I have to tell you all the details?.. Y-you're looking at me like I don't know anything about romance. And I do know about it, please believe me! I mean, I did have a girlfriend.. A-anyway, love is something that I will never be complete without. I need to be loved. It's like.. If I'm loved, it means someone in this world appreciates me, right? They would probably be sad if something happened to me..
Naomi: Um.. I never was that interested in romance, so I can't really- Hm? It doesn't have to be romantic? I see.. Well, I can't even tell you that much about platonic love.. I'm sorry, I'm really boring when it comes to that, haha. But if I had to think about it more.. Maybe it's when others don't expect anything from you? You can be anything you want to be and you're still wanted and appreciated.. It sounds nice when I think about it, actually.
Kei: Heyyyy, didn't you say that someone like me can't know anything about love? Haha, well, as I've said before, I believe that pain and love can't be separated. Why? The thing is, if someone puts you through so much pain every single day, but you still choose to stay with them and don't even think about leaving them.. Yeah, that's love to me. And if you truly love someone, you'll be okay with them hurting you in some way. That's what Mom used to say. And I love her. You love her too, Eiji. You've never even tried to run away, after all.
Eiko: You're probably not gonna believe me, but I actually wasn't interested in love at all until I.. well, met that guy. I thought it was just a stupid waste of time, just like friendship and all that stuff. But hey, of course I felt lonely. My relationships never had any meaning, the only somewhat deep relationship I have is the one with my dad. So, if you were to ask me about love.. I think love is when your relationship with someone has some kind of meaning. Maybe it makes you happy. Maybe it wants you to keep living. Maybe it makes you feel like you have some kind of purpose. You just know that if something happened to that person, you would feel like your life has become incomplete. That's love to me.
Asahi: E-eh?.. I know that I'm more mature than other kids, but like.. Ugh, fine. So, uh, I think love is when someone gives you everything you could ever want from them. N-no, I'm not just talking about food and toys and that stuff! Though that's also important, of course.. But like.. I-if you asked them for a hug, they'd be okay with it.. And if you asked them to spend time with you, they'd still agree even if they're busy.. A-anyway, I know I'll be popular when I grow up, but right now I don't care about all that. I just wanna have fun and I don't want to think about anything.. Uh, "serious".
Yurika: Your question is simple, so my answer will be the same. It's what I felt for my boss. S-she wasn't just a manager to me. She actually gave me a reason to live. She showed me that I still have worth even if I'm not that smart, not that hardworking and not that productive. She's not like my parents at all and those guys are rich, but still wanted me to work! H-huh?.. "Did you see your manager as your lover or your mother figure?".. Uh.. B-both?
Riku: Let me think.. Well, there's many different types of love, you know? I don't really know which one you want me to talk about.. Oh, so like, love in general? Um.. For some reason, it's still hard for me to think of an answer.. Maybe something like, even if you get sad or angry sometimes, they still understand you and still willing to listen to you? Like, they won't go "Come on, cheer up already!" Oh, also they respect your privacy and personal space, that one's important. Even if I love them, I don't want them to call me at 3 am and start telling me the tragic story of how their cat died when they were eight, thank you very much.. Y-yeah, that did happen to me once.
Reina: I don't know much about it, so I'm afraid my answer won't be that interesting. But maybe.. it's when someone still wants to be with you even if they've seen your worst qualities? No, I don't mean any of that "But I still find them beautiful" kind of stuff. That's actually kinda concerning. It's like, they won't leave you if they see you fighting with someone and yelling at them, but they also won't tell you that you were in the right for acting like that, if you really were in the wrong.
Eiji: It's when all sinners get what they deserve. They get the punishments that fit their sins and they have no choice but to accept it, meanwhile the innocent ones get to finally live a peaceful life. And before you ask me, no, nobody in this prison is innocent except me and Guard 002.
Miki: I'm not really as passionate about it as Eiji-san, but.. I think it's when people who did something bad without any reason and don't feel any remorse get.. I-I don't want to say "punished", but.. Basically, they're not able to do anything to the innocent people anymore. I want to believe that everyone in this prison is innocent and everyone had their own reasons and if it wasn't for those reasons, they would never kill anyone.. But I'm not so sure anymore. So if someone in this prison really is guilty.. I guess I'll have to make sure they don't hurt the innocent.
Hiyuu: I think it's when all people are treated as equals. Even if someone is guilty, I won't treat them like a villain. I will punish them, because that's my job as a guard, but it doesn't mean I genuinely want their life to get worse and it doesn't mean I want them to die. I just want them to see what will happen if they continue to act this way. Pain is the worst thing that could ever happen to anyone, so I believe that even if that someone really did something bad, they should be treated with respect if they're in pain. So you can trust me, my punishments won't be that bad, haha.

Some Murder Drones Episode 7 screenshots I thought were interesting and my thoughts on them :>
SPOILER WARNING!!!! is spoilering
Tumblr media
Nori, despite being a middle aged woman with a child, appears to be an Otaku or otherwise likes "edgy" and "scene" stuff, as well as listening to nightcore, very much like her daughter. Good for her tbh you're never too old to have fun
Tumblr media
She also has a photo of Khan and what I can only assume is baby Uzi, though it appears to have blue eyes, but maybe it's just the lighting. Still very cute she has a pic of her husband
Tumblr media
As well as all the previously mentioned Otaku stuff, she also drew herself as an anime character. She has a skinsona. Phenomenal (pos)
Tumblr media
Nothing much here, just Uzi coughing up blood. Girl got the goop (gore) inside of her already
Tumblr media
Lab Space. Apparently the Church was just down there and not even the humans know why. The canonicity of this is questionable; it could just be a joke
OT, as per google, stands for "Occupational Therapy". Makes sense for the context, and makes the bottom text funnier
"Fun Time To Universe Big Crunch: 87". The Big Crunch is a hypothetical way the Universe could end, where the universe folds on itself and shrinks into a single point. 87 "what" I don't know. If it's months, that 7 years and 3 months
Tumblr media
Honestly the Murder Drones lore is super confusing. I think what this is trying to say is that every other Zombie Drone is doing poorly, (Except for Yeva), they are trying to reactivate 002 (Nori) via the USB. I'm not sure what this means. Maybe they only got the results they wanted from the two of them, and are trying again with Nori since she was the only other one that worked (also why they got Yeva when she failed; this may all be referring to how the episode opened up) Also, the date says SER. As revealed in the episode Cabin Fever, Copper-9 has months that Earth does not. SER most likely stands for Seramorris, the month revealed in that episode
Tumblr media
Looks like the "bad event" wasn't the first one. Certainly was the last one though lol
Tumblr media
Just a good pic of ghost/hologram V with the scary stuff. Might use this as a wallpaper
Tumblr media
You can literally see the hole in his neck where N bit him in...
Tumblr media
...And it's to the point his HEAD FALLS OFF. (including because I didn't notice the first time around)
Tumblr media
Yup, the idea that Uzi became the Admin for N and V is completely true. I wonder what would've happened if she didn't, since Cyn didn't react whatsoever
Tumblr media
friggin bug (very pos)
Tumblr media
You would not believe how difficult it was to get a good pic of this (I'm using snipping tool lmao). Always a pleasure to see Uzi's doodles. Things her gun can do (upper right):
NOT judge her
Forced prom date (?)
Allows her to say she had friends before she frickin murdered them with sci-fi machinery
The cut off text at the bottom: Plan B: Normal gun + Shoot really fast
Tumblr media
This is while Tessa is looking for something in the lockers. Claws, chains, magnets, Wings, and scribbled "HELP". Looks like the lockers were all specifically to hold the infected worker drones. Oof
Tumblr media
We are in the future now baby. We have rererererereCAPTCHA. Funnily enough, it still couldn't stop a robot
Tumblr media
There is a message board where someone who doesn't like robots is talking. They also are scared. Also no one else is using this system, which is unsurprising. "Ur aight ;)" Wait is the winky face intentional foreshadowing? Or unintentional?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We get the names of a bunch of other Worker Drones. Unfortunately for all 029 fans, her name was not visible. (also can someone tell me what "JWEB" could be short for?) And Yeva is said to have a patch. That may be the crucible thing idk
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cyn (which I will be calling this version Skyn [Skin + Cyn]) apparently took of the space suit just to give Doll the Withered Foxy jumpscare. Honestly really terrifying. If this photo was teased before release I think the fandom would've exploded
Tumblr media
Just N being a good boy :3
Tumblr media
The MDs, Cyn's pets. Nori refers to them as "Nerfed" so the "Entity" can ensure control, and says they were made to destroy other hosts. I don't know why Cyn would want them dead, but I'm not the loremaster here. YouTube line is there because I couldn't be bothered after the Railgun image
Tumblr media
Probably already confirmed, but doubly confirmed that a symptom of the Solver is giving Drones organic insides. A Worker Drone body with a rib cage and guts. I wonder what would happen if the infection continued uninterrupted (also R.I.P. Doll I loved you :frown:)
Tumblr media
I'm sure everyone noticed, but when Uzi tried to manipulate Tessa, the ERROR noticed appeared. Already hinting Tessa is not all she says she is
Tumblr media
Apparently the Solver can create Black Hole Saws. Interesting development (Blackhole Blitz)
Tumblr media
I know most people (I think) see this as a joke and N just being a bit of goofball. But honestly, I think he did it intentionally to shock Cynuzi and give Nori a chance. In the Pilot, he licked V's sword to surprise her too, which means he isn't unfamiliar with doing something weird and surprising for the advantage
Tumblr media
Skyn eating Doll's core. R.I.P. Doll again. Seriously, was that Doll in Core Form like Nori was? Or was Nori a fringe case because she was "Exorcised" and this is just a regular core? Questions, questions. Also yeah the Solver also gives you a Core. Fun
Tumblr media
This tag makes me think that this body is Cyn's actual body. Not longer a hologram, but her actual body from the mansion. The reason Tessa gave N, J, and V their names was because that was the first letter of their Serial Designation (she's very uncreative). However, Cyn's tag was slightly faded, which meant her SD couldn't be seen, so Tessa gave her the name "Cyn" after her P/N, even though the other 3 already have the same P/N as Cyn (Tessa, again, is very uncreative)...
Tumblr media
...and for some reason, Cyn or the Solver, which ever theory you subscribe to, decided to wear Tessa as a skin suit for some twisted reason. It did help her with the Captcha. Also scary because this doesn't have the right proportions for an adult (unless Cyn really forced that skin on), which leads me to believe that this is a Younger Tessa, and she faked having an older voice. Maybe I shouldn't call her my wife... I'm sure Eldritch J is still available :^)
(Seriously, the eyes are burnt out, leaving two eye holes over the visor, so she gives herself two X eyes so it looks better. Also yeah we found out what that thing on the "It Came From Copper-9" poster came from. It really was Cyn or Skyn)
Tumblr media
Just a frame of the final...frame... for coolness. I'm probably also going to use this for a background. Also, this is definitely Copper-9. You can see the ring and ringless moon together on the right. Uzi somehow got sent to orbit after falling in the meat hole
Well that was all for now. This series has consumed me entirely, body and soul, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Goodbye and goodnight

EPISODE TWO SUMMARY
Episode Two aired on January 2nd 2022, on MNet.
the second episode begins where the previous one ended off, with the girls waking up the next morning and getting better acquainted. as they gather for breakfast, some mingling beings to happen, and some friendships begin to blossom, before everyone moves to go eat with their letter grades. once the meal is over, they are ushered to the main stage to get their first real assignment.
in her confessional, hayoon admits that she’s nervous for this first week-- in previous idol projects, the first challenge has been a huge undertaking, with some years being forced to learn four songs in the span of a week. jaehee’s confessional mirrors that, with her worrying that this might have been an mistake.
once everyone is settled, ilya announces the first challenge-- as part of their letter grade teams, each team will be assigned a company, and will be tasked with preparing two songs; one by an older group that debuted in or before 2014, and one by a newer group that debuted in 2015 or later. there will be two performance nights, and on each night, they will perform one of their two songs. they will be matched against one of the other teams, who will perform their song from the opposite era. team a is assigned spotlight, team b is assigned higher, team c is assigned liberty new age. with that in mind, the teams are set loose to choose their songs and begin preparing.
the camera follows team b first, who seem to be the most straightforward fwith what they want. the chosen groups are clear-- the old era group is obviously og reign, with the new era group being rejectz. jaehee really rallies for their team to perform gotta be you (a favorite of hers), and isis (who is a rejectz stan) proposes that they perform maze-- a lesser known rejectz song, but one that she explains would highlight the many vocalists on the teams best. it takes them all of fifteen minutes to decide on their songs.
team d seems to be the opposite-- the members, while having bonded the night before, still seem to be a little awkward with each other. in her confessional, windy explains that there seemed to be a burden on all their shoulders, what with being labelled the worst on the show. she explains that she felt an extra burden, because destiny was in a group that had multi wins already, and she knew how good of a dancer yooi was. she continues that she felt unworthy and out of her depths, so after the first hour, they’ve come up with nothing.
team a agrees immediately that juliette is their first group, but ahki and hayoon run into a bit of friction-- ahki wants to perform a violetta song, but hayoon seems hesitant, wanting to go for a venus song instead. ahki, in her confessional, explains that she thinks that violetta would be a good omen, what with so many members in that group being OG idol project winners. hayoon, in her own confessional, explains that she wanted to go for venus because venus is korea’s girl group, and universally popular, so audiences would favor them. (also woori is in violetta and ratted on her during ip1 and got her eliminated so harsh feelings but thats subtext lol). sikyung is eventually the tiebreaker, getting hayoon to agree to a violetta song by pointing out that violetta’s style and vibe suited the three girls much better. team a picks juliette’s i got a boy, as well as violetta’s dramatic for their set.
after checking in on team d for comedic effect, who still haven’t made much progress, we check in with team c. in her confessional, misaki explains that she isn’t very familiar with liberty’s groups, and doesn’t know most of their songs, which is embarrassing because she just met sikyung, whose songs she does not know. because of that, she says that she let the other two decide. instead of arguing, team c goes with a different approach-- nayoon picks their older song, as more of a veteran of the industry, and as more of a rookie, andy picks the younger song. nayoon ends up picking harmony’s heart attack-- she explains that she feels as though the stage presence their team has could really come out in this song, and that selfishly, she wants to be a little sexy. andy, on the other hand, picks burnout’s piri. she says that it has elements that suit everyone-- misaki’s dance, her voice, and nayoon’s charisma.
finally, team d seem to have come to a consensus. they decide on their older song first, with deviant being the only real choice for girl groups. destiny drags her feet a little when picking a song, as it seems clear she’s a little uncomfortable going full goofy, but they settle on dancing queen-- it’s not as goofy as some of deviant’s other songs. after clarifying with production staff that they can pick a byulbit song as long as it’s from a unit yooi isn’t part of, the trio settle on a polaris song; shooting love. destiny isn’t thrilled with this one either, but in her confessional, she says she wants to try hard to apply her notes from the previous week. the judges said she didn’t emote well and couldn’t embrace the cute aesthetic, and she says that as someone who performed love & live with terra, as well as debuted with a rather cute debut song in everyday i love you, that shocked her. she wanted to prove them wrong, and resolves to show them that she can do it.
much of the episode is the teams rehearsing. team b has a lot of chemistry, and seem to work really well together. jaehee talks in her confessional about being a little hesitant to work with melody, as they are the oldest and youngest contestants with 15 years of age difference, but that she has come to really love the energy and optimism the younger girl brings, and explains how it makes her feel young again-- there’s something about a fresh rookie that changes your perspective. team c runs into a lot of issues, however. misaki does her best to try to teach the other two the choreography for both songs, but runs into some language barriers in the process, and gets frustrated that she can’t communicate.
finally, its time for performances. the stylists get the teams ready for night one-- Team A for I Got a Boy, Team B for Maze, Team C for Heart Attack, and Team D for Shooting Love. Team A us facing off against Team D, with B vs C. When one team is performing, the other team is watching in a special viewing area, with cameras capturing their reactions. After all four stages, audience votes (as well as judge input) will be tabulated, and the MVP from each matchup will be announced (as well as which team won).
Team A performs their Old song first.  Before the performance really begins, Sikyung mentions in her confessional just how scared she is to perform a Juliette song in front of Pansy, and expresses how much she hopes that she does it justice. All three members seem to have taken on various big vocal parts from the original song, and the stage presence and polish are undeniable. Sikyung stands out the most, however, delivering some of the coolest, killing part-est lines.
Team D is next, doing their new song, which is Polaris’ Shooting Love. Before the performance begins, Yooi mentions how shaken up she is by Team A’s performance-- not only are they the worst team up against the best team, but that best team just put on an idol-group-in-their-prime-after-months-of-practice level performance. The song starts, and it starts off well enough. Windy and Yooi are so so likeable, and Destiny is much more charming and cute that in her first stage. But the lack of true vocalists in this team stabs them in the back eventually, with Destiny struggling to hit some notes, and Yooi outright failing.
Both teams are brought out for the mentors to critique them. Pansy is incredibly complimentary of Sikyung, and tells her that she performed her rap parts better than she had on the original song, which Sam humorously refrains from commenting on, leaving Sikyung flustered. All three of them are complimented for bringing their own flair, and making the song their own. As for Team D, the mentors are less complimentary. Matty compliments Destiny, saying that the mentors can see that she’s pushing herself and they appreciate it, but all the mentors agree that the performance just didn’t stack up, and that they should have picked a song more complimentary to their ranges and vocal skill levels. The mentors don’t lay into them too much, though, and everyone can tell that they just feel bad for the three foreign idols that just seem a step behind.
Team B takes to the stage next for their New song, with Maze. The mentors seem a little surprised when Isis performs Sookie’s rap parts, but pleasantly so. The synergy of this group is incredible, and while Jaehee’s dance ability (and style, and energy) may not match up with someone like Melody on the surface, the group does a good job of working together, making sure no one stands out for the wrong reasons, and making sure everyone gets their shine.
Team C performs last, with their older song, Heart Attack. It’s not a bad performance by any means, but there are issues. Some of the dance is a little sloppy, and the team isn’t on the same page. Nayoon appears to be fighting for the center position the whole time, and really can’t perform all of her vocal lines up to snuff. Misaki also has some issues, especially in her rap, where some pronunciation is dropped.
The mentors start with Team C, and they aren’t very happy. Jinkyung criticizes them on not working together as a team, pointing out how it seems to her like they just left their foreign teammate to twist in the wind. Matty takes aim at Nayoon, telling her that being a good center means knowing when to turn on the charm, and when to let the other members have their turn, and that in this performance, Nayoon just seemed like an attention whore. The critiques for Team B couldn’t have been more different; there isn’t a single negative note. Sam takes an interest in Isis’ rap especially, with him mentioning that he is Sookie’s mentor, and that he was very impressed, and Isis explains that her sister is Dylan, and that being Dylan’s sister means that she doesn’t rap much herself in Byulbit songs, but that she has picked up a lot from her. Sam retorts that Byulbit ought to let her rap more.
All the teams are then brought to the stage, and Ilya announces the results-- for the first matchup, Team A won, and Sikyung was the MVP. As for the second set, Team B won in a landslide, and Isis was named MVP there.
It is then time for the second day of performances, and the styling is shown again. Team A is dressed for their Dramatic performance, Team B is dressed for their Gotta Be You performance, Team C for Piri, and Team D for Dancing Queen.
Team A goes first again, and it’s much the same as the day before-- they are incredibly well prepared and polished. Hayoon seems a little off, but not in any huge way. Not in any way anyone could place or point out. It’s just a feeling, and so their second performance falls short of their first, even if there is nothing wrong with it.
Team B follows up, and there’s something magic about it. Jaehee is clearly more in her element here than she was with Maze, and even though she performed Maze wonderfully, it is so so clear that this is her wheelhouse. She puts on a show with the vocals, even adding in extra runs that Haena hadn’t on the original. Isis has big shoes to fill with Starr’s parts, but she brings the charisma. Aeri is the perfect compliment to Jaehee, and while Melody doesn’t have many lines to work with, she turns it on for what she does have, making sure it’s memorable.
Team A is critiqued first, as well. Ilya tells them that they were very good, but that it just wasn’t good enough. Pansy piggy-backs on it, explaining that it was a well polished and executed performance, but it lacked fire and passion. It was just talented people going through the motions. There are no real bad critiques, but everyone just agrees that it just wasn’t as good as Team B, nor was it as good as their previous stage. As for Team B, Sam insists that Isis is the complete packages, complimenting her rap once again. Jinkyung talks about how all four of them really pushed the song to its’ limits, and Ilya tells them they picked the perfect song. Matty explains that while this was her group’s song, it was released before she was part of the lineup, and talks about how it was a difficult song for her to wrap her head around-- it’s not challenging in a dance perspective (which is where her specialties are), but the vocals need a lot of emotion and dedication to get the real feeling across, and that to this day she sometimes struggles with that, but that Team B didn’t and that she was so impressed. Before they leave the stage, Jinkyung tells Jaehee that she is (in her opinion) one of the best k-pop vocalists the industry has ever seen, which pushes Jaehee to tears.
Team C has a big act to follow with that, and once again, they fall a little short. Misaki is a standout for the stage, and while she stumbles a little over vocals again, she really puts her all into the choreography, and is captivating to watch. Andy can’t quite hit all the notes she needs to, but she puts on an impressive showing nonetheless, and while her dancing isn’t up to snuff either, you can tell she really tried. Nayoon is a mess, though, not keeping up with the choreography, dropping her vocals, and seeming all too focused on image once more.
Team D, however, blow everyone’s expectations out of the water. They all really seem to give it their all and have fun with the song, with Destiny in particular seeming to let go of whatever was holding her back and really go all in. Windy is the most engaging she’s ever been, and Yooi suits the concept perfectly. It’s in no way a Team B-style grand slam, but it’s a good performance, and warrants many cheers from the crowd.
The mentors address Team D first, and it’s clear that they are very proud. All three of them are brought to tears by the encouragement from the panel. They are complimented on picking a song that suits them and doesn’t push them too far. Matty compliments Destiny in particular, saying that while many might read Destiny as someone cold and very focused on image and look, she really showed that she not only loved performing, but was capable of breaking out of her own box, and that she was very proud of Destiny for that. Team C is the last to be critiqued, and it all ends on a sour note. Sam compliments Misaki on doing her best, with a sharp jab at the other two, noting that she probably could have been great with the right guidance from her teammates. Jinkyung is a little kinder, speaking to Andy in particular, telling her that while she missed a few notes, Phoenix was a very very skilled singer and not everyone could do what she could. And while Andy missed some big notes, Jinkyung was still impressed with all else she hit. Matty expressed her frustration with Nayoon, however, saying that she didn’t take their notes from the previous stage-- instead, she got worse.
The teams all come out once more for Ilya to announce the results. Team B win the first matchup, with Jaehee being named MVP. He then announces that Team D won the second matchup, which prompts that team to tears once more, and when Destiny is named MVP, she gets on her knees and bows to the audience.
After they all go back to the dorms, Nayoon speaks in a confessional about how disappointed in herself she is. She explains that in Delight, image was all that mattered for a long time, and she was so used to just making sure people were watching her, and that those habits were hard to break. She also says that she’s not sure if she is a real idol, and expresses doubts about her abilities.
