The art in “Another World: The Transcendental Painting Group” at the Crocker Art Museum explores how a group of introspective artists reacted to world events that recall those we face today.

Each artist in the show lived through a global pandemic, great economic disruption, the environmental disaster of the Dust Bowl, and the existential and imminent dangers of rising fascism and war. “Chaos” was a word frequently used in the group’s writings to describe the wider world.

With Rosenda alive, I’m hoping we get a second incarnation of Noble Team that’s part of Spartan Operations. I always see them as like the Wreckers from Transformers meets the Suicide Squad from DC, the roster always changes and the mission fatality is really high but a select few brave and above average Spartans are chosen to have the title of Noble.

Even better, there’s a bit of a ritual each incarnation does and it’s to visit Reach to honor the first Noble Team before heading off to a mission and the statue in Reach in their honor is decorated in writings and photos from their successors.

Found time to do a Christmas illustration!

Side note, Emile knows it's his dad, but for a brief moment in his childhood, Emile thought that Julian was /The/ Santa-- Like Julian was out hopping from roof to roof delivering other people's gifts.

Still, when he found out that that wasn't the case either, that didn't stop him from getting excited to see his dad as Santa every Christmas xD
