Topic: Sonic Bedroom Aesthetic
A few years ago I was standing in my bedroom, looking around at it's color scheme and textures. Sky blue walls. White popcorn ceiling with silver glitter stuck to it. Orange and green mesh IKEA organizers hanging from the ceiling. A pleasant latte color for the carpet, doors, windows, and frames. A furry white blanket and other blankets with a party of cutesy forest critters on them. Furry green, yellow, blue pillows and a fuzzy yellow backrest. It all felt really familiar right before I realized OH SNAP, IT'S LIKE GREEN HILL ZONE AND SONIC VIBES👀
Ever since then, I've been rolling with that theme and gradually adding more Sonic Vibes. A set of bedsheets printed with dark green & white checkerboard and compass rose pattern sheets. A rainbow flag curtain on one half of the corner window and a sunflower curtain on the other half. Cloud and rainbow LED lights sit on the windowsill. Sunflower string lights line the window frame, and an orange & blue lantern printed with butterflies & flowers hangs from the ceiling, with crystal sun catchers hanging from that. Blue, pink, green, and orange glow-in-the-dark stars stick to one section of the ceiling. A small rotating star lamp and a small rotating blue kaleidoscope lamp are positioned on a shelf to shine at the ceiling whenever I'm feeling either vibe.
As I reorganize my desk space and eventually swap the desk for a double-tiered/compartment one, I am adding and rearranging these items on it: A geometric pattern lamp, black & white checkerboard pencil case(s) and phone stand, orange and blue metal pen holders, lots of pens that have fake gems on top/inside them, fuzzy green and orange plaid pumpkins, fake flowers held in aesthetic empty bottles, and a pink Amy Rose themed flower bouquet held in a pink ceramic jar that says Blooms. I will eventually add a small sculpture that is fake flowers in a jar (shaped similarly like the enchanted rose jar in "Beauty and the Beast"), which reminds me of the sunflower kept alive in the item bubble in the Scrapnik Island comic storyline. I also thrifted a brown wooden footrest that has fuzzy green grass looking fabric on top. Having the knick-knack things on my desk might be impractical but it's for the ✨️aesthetic✨️, and I have a wide-ish coffee table as an additional workspace.
I was taking inventory of my candle storage bin and I found my small Target candle in a yellow jar that says ADVENTURE on it, and the scent is Citrus Sunflower. I have various candle holders that have butterflies/flowers/geometric/gemstone shaped patterns, and one with beaded vines. I have rainbow sequin ornaments that look like Chaos Emeralds and colorful pompom garland that I haven't found a place to hang yet, as well as "vine" ribbon (brown twine with green fabric leaves) to decorate here and there.
I am excited to finally curate a space that feels functional but also feels stimulating, colorful, and reflects my interests. It's funny, when I was younger, I wanted to paint my walls dark charcoal grey and have pops of pink, blue, purple and spooky touches for a Monster High and/or Nightmare Before Christmas themed room. I still have spooky elements in my room (it's always Halloween in my soooouuul), which could be dual references to my aforementioned interests and also Pumpkin Hill🤣

Rudraksha Mala for Men: A Spiritual Accessory in India
In India, the Rudraksha mala holds profound spiritual significance, revered for its association with Lord Shiva and its purported therapeutic properties. This article explores the tradition of wearing Rudraksha malas by men in India, delving into its cultural significance, benefits, and considerations for purchasing one.
Cultural Significance:
Buy Rudraksha mala for men in India, derived from the Sanskrit words "Rudra" (Lord Shiva) and "Aksha" (tears), is believed to be the tears of Lord Shiva, shed out of compassion for humanity. The Rudraksha mala, a string of these sacred beads, is worn by devotees and seekers alike as a symbol of protection, spiritual awakening, and connection to the divine. It is often used during meditation, chanting of mantras, and spiritual practices to enhance concentration and promote inner peace.
Benefits of Rudraksha:

Considerations for Purchase:
When purchasing a Rudraksha mala for men in India, there are several factors to consider to ensure authenticity and effectiveness:
Mukhi Count: Rudraksha malas come in various Mukhi counts, ranging from one to twenty-one or more. Each Mukhi is associated with unique attributes and energies, so it's essential to choose a mala that resonates with your spiritual goals and intentions.
Authenticity: Due to the popularity of Rudraksha malas, there are many counterfeit products in the market. To ensure authenticity, purchase from reputable sellers or certified vendors who source their beads from reliable sources and provide authentication certificates.

What You Should Know About Buying And Caring For Jewelry
Tumblr media
At one level, selecting and owning jewelry is a visceral, natural experience. Jewelry is supposed to be beautiful. So, all you need to do is pick pieces that appeal to your taste or the taste of their intended recipients. There is a deeper level to jewelry, though. Buying, selling and caring for your jewelry are all processes that can be improved by learning a few handy tips. This article will give you those tips.
When looking to invest in jewelry containing sapphires, opals or rubies make sure that you understand what lab created means. Lab created gemstones are grown in a laboratory using scientific means. Jewelry that you see labeled as lab created such as sapphire has never seen Mother Nature. If you are looking for natural gemstones, you may be paying a higher price and spend significant time looking for a vendor outside of your local mall.
Wearing less jewelry can actually make a bigger statement than overloading yourself with many smaller pieces of bright gold and shiny stones. Large pieces are trendy right now, so when stepping out, pick one or two pieces of jewelry that are bold and dramatic. Try pairing a large, colorful ring with dangling earrings.
Repurpose your jewelry to get the most wear out of each piece. Wrap a necklace around your wrist to fashion a new bracelet. Slip a pair of clip-on earrings onto a pair of pumps as shoe clips, and add a bit of sparkle to plain heels. Attach a pin or brooch to a necklace and update its look.
When buying an engagement ring, remember to find out beforehand, what shape stone she wants her diamond to be. Currently, there are nine different shapes or cuts of diamonds to choose from.
When buying jewelry, pick jewelry that will go good with the majority of your wardrobe. If you spend hundreds of dollars on an amazing piece of jewelry, you will want to be wearing it any chance you get. Consider foregoing a more expensive piece in favor of one that you could wear more often.
Save your broken beaded necklaces to give them new life. Do not let them fill a sacred box in your bedroom. Go in your bathroom and grab the dental floss. Use it to restring your necklace and it will likely last longer than the original string lasted on the piece.
If you plan to make and sell your own jewelry as a quick way of generating extra income on the side, opt to focus on pieces that you can quickly make without sacrificing quality or style. This ensures that you are adequately compensated for your time and efforts used to create the piece.
When making or gifting jewelry, make each piece even more meaningful by selecting stones, beads, and colors that communicate different emotions. Green gems like jade and emeralds represent growth and vitality, which makes them ideal gifts for expectant mothers, newlyweds, or perhaps friends who are especially active in eco-friendly lifestyles and initiatives.
Purchasing a piece of jewelry is a rather hefty decision based upon the price tag of the item. When you are in the market for a piece of jewelry, take the time to figure out what you are looking for, the budget you are allowing yourself, and what overall quality you seek in the item.
Using such methods, you can improve the entire experience of owning or giving jewelry. Every piece of jewelry matches someone's particular tastes, and finding the right one for you requires no education. But when you learn a little about the non-aesthetic considerations, you can make your experiences of buying, giving and owning jewelry more economical and longer-lasting.

• Randvi x female reader 💋
• Second part of a (not-so-short-anymore) emotional fic.
a sapphire for your heart, part II.
Ravensthorpe buzzed with life as villagers begun to emerge from their cozy little homes. The sound of children echoed in the small meadow and it made you smile; sweet youthful laughter, sing-song games and playful teasing. You stopped to gaze at the three little rascals chasing one another around a large sage tree. The image made your chest feel warm as you reminisced about your own childhood. And with those pleasant thoughts in mind, the memory of the weeping woman faded whilst you made your way to Reda’s tent.
“Hello!”
He greeted you with a small wave, beckoning you over. You stood in front of him with the bag of opals in your hand.
“Would this be enough to cover my stay?”
With a smile, you dangled the little pouch in front of him. Eagerly, Reda pushed himself into a sitting position, cross-legged and hunched over the bag filled with jewels. The precious gems shimmered beautifully in the sunlight, like a dragonfly's translucent wings. He was deeply satisfied as he fastened the mouth of the pouch and hid it safely among his belongings.
“More than enough.”
He reassured.
“Now, I have this map for you.”
And he produced an old, rolled-up papyrus, offering it to you. It was awfully smudged and the writing was faded, the landscape and roads badly drawn in thick coal lines, yet you could still make out certain regions, borders, and key points. You took your time to study the important document before your gaze found Reda’s again. He briefly explained the hierarchy in this growing village, mentioning the jarl's name, Sigurd, and his right hand drengr, Eivor. Both of them were currently absent and have been for quite some time. However, there was a woman you could rely on for further information regarding the map. Randvi.
Following Reda’s instructions, you found yourself at the large front gate of that immense longhouse. The carvings in the threshold were mesmerizing to look at; symmetrical patterns sculpted so precisely in painted wood. Dragons stood proudly above the tall door, and flickering lamps hung from their open mouths. There was a soft crackling sound within – a fire burning slowly in the middle of that large space. It felt homely, albeit it was rather dark inside, and so you hesitantly paced about the creaking floor. Your gaze wandered from every dark crevice to every colorful pillar holding that magnificent roof up.
The sound of chatter from outside abruptly ripped your hazy focus and you remembered why you were there to begin with. Information.
You inhaled deeply as you glanced around for the map chamber. It was right across that long hall which separated tables full of food and drinks. There seemed to be no one in the longhouse at this hour, and yet you did hear soft footfalls somewhere behind the wooden walls. It oddly felt as if you were trespassing, even though you had Reda’s written invitation attached to your belt.
“Good morning?...”
You called. A woman emerged from a chamber adjacent to the map room, and when your eyes met, you were completely gobsmacked – it was her. She seemed equally surprised to see you, as if you’ve met somewhere before. Up close, you noticed her impressive height and strong shapes, and with that stern, impenetrable look in her azure eyes, you almost felt intimidated.
“Ah-… I am here on behalf of Red-"
“Yes, I know how you are. Sapphire, is it?”
The sound of her voice was like a deep river murmur, and yet soft, melodic, so gently pulling at your heart strings. You nodded slowly at her question, and she beckoned you to come by the large table in the middle of the room, where a map was laid out and pinned by various figurines. It was a spectacular display of the area, with clear marks of little villages, forts and caves. You couldn’t wait to redraw your own map, and yet you found yourself secretly gazing at the powerful woman just across from you.
She was beautiful. Radiating such authority, calm and collected; was she truly the one you’ve heard weeping that morning by the river stream? Looking at her now, it was hard to picture such a stern figure being overwhelmed by emotion.
“Tell me what you need help with.”
Her voice gently pulled you from your thoughts, and in a few moments you had the old map stretched next to the larger one. She glanced at the faded, yellow paper, and then at you. You raised your brows as her dazzling eyes peered into your own.
“Primarily, I need to know which areas are safe for travels.”
A smile small tugged the corner of her lips; you couldn’t tell whether it was amusement or bitterness, but you found it impossible to break free from her steady gaze as she leaned over the table with a sigh.
“No area is truly safe, however… I will highlight the most important borders you should consider before crossing.”
“Good. Thank-you!”
You were relieved to find how honest she was, and soon, the sound of her tranquil voice dissolved that cold, hostile aura she seemed to have about her at first glance. She was particularly charming as she worked – focused, thorough and quick. The design on her clothing was breathtaking in itself, so easily luring you in, closer; you were curious what fabric it was and whose hands were so skilled to sew such intricate patterns. But you kept very still, respectful of her personal space as she kindly aided you with your map. When she was done, she stood up straight, nearly towering over you. The way you looked at her must’ve caught her off guard, for she raised a fine brow as she handed you the new document.
“Is there anything else that you need?”
She asked, harmlessly inquisitive.
“Oh! Not at all!” You laughed softly. ”I was only wondering about your brooch. I’ve never seen one like that before.”
Your curiosity seemed to have stirred something within her; something you definitely did not expect. She smiled as she gently touched the aforementioned item, her gaze longing all of a sudden.
“This?... It was my mother’s.”
“And the beads attached to it…”
You begun as you slowly rounded the table to her side. The closer you approached her, the more evident her imposing height became – a Norse goddess incarnate, enthralling and mighty. You swore you caught a drop of tenderness in the way she gazed at her mother’s brooch.
“…what are they?”
Caught off guard, Randvi met your prying gaze, wondering.
“Emerald, of course.” She answered.
Indeed the precious gems shimmered beneath the faded light seeping through the ceiling above. As she turned to face you, the rich green hues seemed almost tangible, deep and smooth like vivid clover leaves. Your attention lingered on her beads, as if you were reading through each ray of sun the stone reflected. Then, you sought Randvi’s gaze again as you smiled.
“It’s Chrysoprase.”
You concluded. She seemed half-amused as she coiled her beads between her war-hardened fingers. Never looking away from the gems, she asked.
“How do you know?”
“Emerald reflects light differently, like a mirror. This one seems to glow.”
Oddly, your input seemed to stir a hidden curiosity within her; perhaps it was because you openly showed interest in something so dear to her, or perhaps because she was secretly fascinated by gemstones. However, when she gazed at you, with her beads still tangled in her fingers, you felt as if she had questions.
Her stoic demeanor melted briefly, leaving room for genuine interest in your knowledge – her gaze was intense, easily pinning you to that heavy map table. A shiver rushed through your core as her mouth opened to speak, but before words were uttered, a much louder and desperate voice called from the other end of the hall. An old woman expressed her disappointment in a foreign tongue, which you immediately recognized as Norwegian. And as Randvi made her way to tend to her responsibilities, you gathered your map and tiptoed out of the longhouse.
-         To be continued…

Trinkets, Necklaces, 2: Whether they’re pendants, amulets, periapts, chokers, beaded strings, chains, charms, lockets or torques, “Neck Slot” type jewelry is a very common item in fiction and roleplaying. These ornaments give an immediate glance into the bearer’s personality, wealth, rank or social class and  often serves as an iconic part of that character’s look. Ranging in obviousness from a soldiers dog tags, cleric’s holy symbol or police detectives badges worn front and center over clothing, immediately visible on their chest as a clear indication of who they are, to the cliché locket containing pictures of family or lost lovers that’s worn against the skin, just over the heart. Outgoing character’s such as Phoebe Bouffette compliment their natural charisma with loud colorful costume jewelry while more reserved examples often go without, though what little ornamentation they do have is meaningful or of good quality like Katara’s heirloom choker or Annie’s half-a-locket. A locked metal torque can instantly mark the bearer a penniless slave, while a string of lustrous pearls mark their owner a flauntingly wealthy noble. Magical necklaces in fiction are powerful and mysterious from Inuyasha’s Beads of Subjugation, Dr Strange’s Eye of Agamotto or Yugi’s Millennium Puzzle. None of these necklaces are intensely magical in their own right but can serve as basis for a magical or plot relevant amulet. When a DM rolls a d100, the bog standard amulet of protection +1 they were going to give out now has a unique look and personality rather than just a mechanical benefit.
A pewter medallion displaying a circular symbol of a stylized killer whale. Etched on the back are the initials “M.G.C”.
A broken half of a medallion that emanates a sense of security and warmth. It’s power and true function is inaccessible without its other half.
A unicorn tooth that has been drilled and threaded onto a bright braided string.
A thick multilayered garland of cherry blossoms meant to be worn around the neck. The blossoms have been magically preserved and will never wilt, fade or lose their scent.
A necklace of brass links on which is strung two dozen flies, each encased in a small glass sphere.
An amulet carved from a small piece of oak. It has a pyrographed image of a river wrapped around the roots of a large stylized tree.
A necklace made out of dried rat tails that have been artfully entwined.
A dented silver locket. There is an image of a large smiling family on the inside of the opening with the words “Please come home to us safe and sound.” etched on the other side.
A palm sized necklace, bearing a bone holy symbol of a local god of a Random Evil Domain.
A lustrously amulet of polished stone of midnight hue carved from the heartstone of a mountain drenched in dark magic. It is engraved with a single glowing rune, and into its ebony facets have been poured all the captured malice and spite that emanates from the chill lands of the dark elves. To behold its darksome shape is to see despair made physical, it is to abandon even the merest memory of hope.
—Keep reading for 90 more necklaces.
—Note: The previous 10 items are repeated for easier rolling on a d100.

[[ Just found out about the February writing prompt that’s going on! Hot damn! Find it >HERE< if you’d like to join in on the fun. ]]
Tumblr media
“Take whatever you’d like.”
Alfie spoke with his back turned to me. I was only just coming down from the high, and the moonlight was hazy on his broad shoulders before he pulled a shirt over his head. My body was sore, most especially my feet. I didn’t know what he meant. Take whatever I want?
As if sensing my confusion, the man turned back around with a smile that I distrusted and fell for all at once. In his hands was a polished jewelry case, a deep forest green inlaid with intricate golden swirls upon the lid. Reaching into his pocket, he withdrew a little key that he used to the unlock the box as he sat beside me. The old bed groaned quietly as I shifted, pressing the sheets to my bare chest and rubbing my head as I looked down. It took a moment for my eyes to focus, and by the third blink, I found myself blinking again out of sheer surprise at what was in front of me.
Within the jewelry box lined with red velvet was an assortment of glittering jewels. Rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings-- everything, even what appeared to be a couple of diamond headpieces. My hand immediately reached for the biggest and shiniest thing inside, which was a hefty emerald hanging from a delicate chain made of what appeared to be diamonds. Alfie’s eyes were watching me, watching my every move, as I looked over at the jewelry.
“What’s this about?” I mumbled, grimacing at how dry my throat and tongue were. “Why are you offering me all of this...?”
“Because I love you,” he said simply, his voice low. A calloused hand came to rest upon my cheek and slid down, gently grasping my chin to tilt my head up to him so that our gazes might meet. “Isn’t that reason enough, ma biche?”
No, it isn’t. What is it that you’re gonna ask me this time?
I knew the pattern by then. Before he asked a tremendous task of me, he was soft-spoken, gentle, charming for... a moon, give or take. He was giving and generous, offering me all of his time and every worldly good I could ask for. With me, he was not heavy handed. He was insidious. He crept inside of me and adorned my skeleton and muscles with his ownership, imprinted it so deeply on me that it never became a question of whether or not I belonged to him. Of course I did. What else was I if not Alfie’s ‘best girl’? It was easy for other people to look away if I was well-dressed, well-groomed, charming and smiling.
To his reason that he gave me, I did not reply. Instead, I sifted silently through the jewelry. Of course it was beautiful. Gemstones were always beautiful, and he made sure that I always wore heavy ones, ones that you couldn’t ignore. Look at how well I treat her. She’s happy. She’s taken care of.
My eyes closed for a moment. None of them were to my tastes. I didn’t like flashy gems or jewels. I wasn’t looking to make a statement. And, before I knew it, my hand had slid over a line of cool beads. My eyes opened, and I exhaled softly, pulling the necklace out of the large box. Pearls. Old ones. They were antique, surely, judging by the age on them, but well taken care of.
My fingers wrapped around them. Small, they fit well in my fist. Alfie smiled as I looked back up at him, questioningly. Leaning forward, he took the pearls from my hands and gently unclasped the strand. At his silent beckon, I shifted to the edge of the bed and let him clasp them around my throat, reached up to touch them as they fell against my cold skin. Smooth and perfectly round, understated. This wasn’t his style at all. Why were they in the box to begin with?
“My simple girl,” Alfie sighed, combing my hair with his fingers. “You don’t ask for much, do you, little Cherry? That’s part of what I like about you. You’re not a nasty, greedy girl. A simple string of pearls and your eyes light up.”
His hands came to rest upon either of my shoulders, and he turned me around so that I’d face him. I ached to protest to the way he moved me like a ragdoll, and yet... At the same time, it was in his grasp alone that I allowed myself to feel even remotely safe. No harm would come to me if he was around, except from himself. That was okay. I could live like that. I could live with him. I looked up at his stormy eyes and even smiled for him, to which he smiled back, brushing his thumb against my cheek and pressing it in to the corner of my mouth.
“Beautiful,” he breathed. “They’ll look beautiful on you when we get a visit from my Brass Blade friend. A captain! Isn’t that exciting? He can’t wait to meet you, Cherry. I’ve told him so much about you.”
I’d rather gouge out my own eyes. I’d rather gouge out his. Or yours. Everything you have now is because of me. But the power isn’t mine here, is it?
“Great,” I replied, still smiling. “Can’t wait, Alfie. Thank you... for the gift.”
Motherfucker.
