WAHH HI CLARA thank u for the question!! this came at the right time because right now my friend and i are going ham over our shared uni au + as a suffering uni student i like pondering uni elodi to cope... anyway!!

- i like sticking to canon for dio's studies which means that he's a (very insufferable) law student. top of his class but also throws banger parties. he's very popular despite rarely actually letting people into his inner circle.

- i feel like elodi REALLY suit the academic rivals trope but unfortunately we are not in the same course ...

- we do enjoy learning from each other about our respective fields though!

- in uni au, elo and dio don't meet beforehand, so their first time meeting is during their uni years (i answered another ask about my aus where i explained it a little but basically dio lives with kakyoin polnareff and pucci, eloise is kakyoin's friend)

- the dynamic is probably "find each other annoying" to friends to lovers

- this is also lowkey popular guy x nerdy girl tbh. and i love it

The Skeleton of Mrs. Morales is Whitney’s pick and is, as she describes it, a black comedy complete with los tóxicas y chismosas (the toxic and the gossipy). The unhealthy relationships in the film lead to murder with a dose of humor. Daphne loves The Skeleton of Mrs. Morales, lauding its atmosphere, its beautiful cinematography, and its winning combination of the grim and the playful. The Skeleton of Mrs. Morales got funnier each time Jeff watched it, even though there are some very disturbing events in the film. Its award-winning cast and crew, including the director of Ship of Monsters (La nave de los monstruos, 1960), have created a tour de force in The Skeleton of Mrs. Morales.

dio's favourite gift from elo is something she gave him more recently, a record player + a few vinyls of his favourite albums! she decided on it after catching him humming to some music and she thought that it might be nice to liven up the mansion a little with some sound

elo's favourite gift is something dio gave her a long time ago, a pair of earrings (that she still wears today). she had always liked fun designs and colours on her jewelry, so he had a pair made with multicolored crystals on it!

El Odio (La Haine)

El Odio (La Haine como su nombre original) es una película de origen francés, lanzada en el año 1995, que narra la historia de 3 jóvenes de diferentes descendencias. Uno era Vinz (Vincent Cassel), el joven francés y rebelde de la época, Said (Said Taghmaoui), un chico Árabe y Hubert (Hubert Koundé), el chico negro del grupo. Francia se encuentra en constantes protestas y motines por parte de los jóvenes, que están cansado de los abusos policiales a los que son sometidos. La historia se encaminara 24 horas donde conoceremos más a fondo a nuestros personajes y cómo se desenvuelven en ese ambiente turbio y tenso que nos presenta la película.

El film fue dirigido y escrito por el director Mathieu Kassovitz, además la fotografía estuvo a cargo de Perre Aim. Por otro lado, Kassovitz se le fue entregado el premio a Mejor Director en la edición de 1995 del Festival Internacional de Cine de Cannes, además de que la película obtuvo múltiples premios en montajes y fotografía en los Premios César del año 1996.

Desde que inicié mi clase de “Análisis Cinematográfico” no ha habido una película que me haya enganchado más que esta. El odio es una película que camina sola, sin necesidad de mucho, logra contar una historia fascinante con personajes que, si bien es cierto que pueden llegar a ser un poco toscos y algo simple, esta logra una compenetración entre ellos para que el argumento fluya y se logre apreciar el trasfondo de la misma. A pesar que muchos pueden irse de cabezas contras los personajes ya que, su lenguaje y expresividad pueden ser repetitivos, estos tienen momentos de lucidez, momentos donde logras captar sus sentimientos, esa hermandad que por pasajes sientes que tiembla pero que luego te da una cachetada y te das cuenta que son más unidos de lo que parece y por ello, para mi, un gran acierto de la película es la compenetración entre personajes. Por otro lado, el montaje es magnífico, cada movimiento de cámara, sus dollys, paneos y traveling son sensacionales ya que logran captar la esencia de los personajes y el paisaje rustico de parís, además de la hermosa fotografía, acompañada de este blanco y negro que logra un ambiente de tensión en toda la película. En aspectos generales, es una película que disfruté mucho, sobre todo una escena donde Vinz está hablando con el espejo y la cámara está en un over the shoulder pero que luego hace un Dolly In hacia el espejo quedando en un plano medio del personaje y con la sensación de que el espejo eres tú como espectador. Un 9/10. Recomenda sin ninguna duda.
