Quiero usar falda, vestido, shorts, quiero usar todas esas blusas bonitas.
Quiero vestir libre y sentirme segura.
Quiero vestir libre y no tener miedo.

Dear friends,
On March 9th, 2020, I will join all my fellow sisters in my home country of Mexico on the paro nacional de mujeres #enelnueveningunasemueve. This means I won’t be going to work, I won’t be leaving my house, running any errands, I won’t be on any social media whatsoever, I won’t be watching netflix or online shopping; it’s not a vacation day or a holiday, but a day where all traces of my existence in this country will vanish, just as if I was to go missing like many of my sisters do every single day in this god forsaken land.
I will be thinking, every second of March 9th, about how lucky I am that I get to ponder what it’d be like if I were to be kidnapped, murdered, snuffed out of this life and to not actually experience it. I’ll be thinking of all the women who didn’t get the luxury of preparing to go missing as part of a protest or exercise, those women that did not know it was gonna be the last time they’d stepped out of their homes or hailed a cab or went out to the store or a club.
Maybe hoping a day without women can make a difference is naive, but i’d rather be naive than to give up hope; I will continue fighting for all my sisters because after March 9th, after all women come back to the daily grind, and everything has not magically changed overnight, I know what will: there will be no woman or girl in this country that has not opened her eyes to what’s been done to us, and we will be hungry and insatiable. Hungry for change, and we will not settle for just anything. Men may not change, but we will. We already are. Let’s make history.
I wanted to make clear why I’ll be offline during the next 24 hours. Because my silence speaks, and my silence matters. Love to all 💜

Never do I use this blog for personal posts, posts about myself or anything like that, but I am a Mexican woman, and yesterday on IWD I went out to march with my sisters, to tell everyone how sick we are of having to be brave every single time we leave our houses, of having to look over our shoulders while walking two blocks to the bus or home at night after school.
I'm so proud of the women in my country bc I saw thousands of women, even the ones who did not march were supporting us in some way or another, I saw older women, mothers, students like me, children even with their moms, and it really does give me hope that at least we, women, will not allow anyone to silence is any longer. And today, on March 9th we disappeared from everywhere, from social media, school, work, shops, streaming services, we were dead for a day, because it might seem like an exaggeration but 10 Mexican women are killed every single damn day, and tomorrow it could be me, or you, or her, and we don't know, so I just wanted to bring a little light to what went down in my country today and yesterday and I really hope y'all help us make an impact with this because our own press just disregards our whole movement here in Mexico. I think somebody already said it, but our biggest allies in making this a visible thing is international media. Anyways, here are some pics I took from yesterday's march bc it just felt so empowering to be able to be there with so many women who are SICK of how this country has treated us.
