What is The Elfinia Saga

The Elfinia Saga is a passion project started by me and only me. It is a collection of stories that interweave to build a larger and wilder world. In this story bother world and a second magical world exist. I am currently working on one of many books in this series. I currently have a timeline for some of the books in the series. The books will be broken into three main categories:

The main story line, this will follow the “main characters” through their journey.

Main character side stories. These stories will focus on stories about the main characters that are not directly part of the main story. This will include many backstories and future stories.

Stories canon to the universe that have nothing to do with the main characters. These are stories that take place in the same universe but do influence the main characters or main story. 

I also have a small timeline for the first few books:

Book 1: Human

Book 2: Necromancer

Book 0: Witch

Book 3: Halfling 

Book 0 will be a prequel while book 3 will be set many years after 1 and 2. Books 1 and 2 take place within a year of each other. I have a few other books planned and with WIPs:

A vampire/werewolf story set in the 1980s

Laxus side story set in the the 1920s

An Atlantis themed story set in Colorado (I know that sounds weird but trust me)

A story titled “Siren”, which will be an LGBTQIA+ centered story.

A mystery story about a ghost who has no memory of her own murder and finds out a local forensic scientist who can see the dead. This will be titled “Higher Purpose”.

Mercredi 5 juin

Je reçois hier un mot furieux d’une lectrice - qui ne m’a pas permis de reproduire ici son texte - suite à mon billet d’hier, dans lequel j’expliquais avoir fait travailler l’oral à mes élèves.

Elle raconte sa terreur d’avoir à participer en classe, et son ressenti que les enseignants participent à reproduire des schémas oppressifs.

Je comprends en partie cette personne : tous les ans, depuis que j’enseigne, je me trouve face, comme tous mes collègues je pense, devant des élèves qui ne souhaitent pas prendre la parole en cours, pour des raisons très diverses, et certains souvent justifiées. Que ce soit parce que la parole peut nourrir le harcèlement, que cette modalité les angoisse ou tout simplement parce qu’ils n’apprennent pas mieux de la sorte.

Mais c’est aussi l’une des obligations d’un enseignant : faire découvrir à nos élèves les modalités de la vie qui les attend par la suite. Peut-être Elfinia, qui a dû ouvrir la bouche quatre fois cette année parviendra à mener sa vie sans avoir à communiquer en public. Mais peut-être pas. Et le jour où elle sera mise face à une situation d’oral, qu’elle ne pourra plus fuir, il est nécessaire qu’elle dispose de quelques outils.

Et c’est là qu’intervient, comme toujours, l’individualisation. Participer oralement, et c’est ce que j’aurais voulu expliquer à la personne qui m’a écrit, ce n’est pas que lever la main pour répondre à une question posée. Il y a mille façons de participer à l’oral, certaines plus flagrantes que d’autres : ceux qui contribuent à organiser la salle quand il faut en changer la disposition pour une activité, ceux qui trouvent un renseignement plus vite que les autres dans un document et aident leurs camarades, ceux qui, devant un petit public, se révèlent des comédiens de talent, ceux qui ne savent donner leur avis qu’anarchiquement, mais souvent avec pertinence.

Notre travail n’est pas, à mon sens, de normaliser une participation orale ou de contraindre. Il est d’aller chercher la voix de tous nos élèves, qu’elle soit forte ou ténue, afin qu’ils prennent conscience qu’elle est là. Et qu’elle sera leur alliée, le jour où ils en auront besoin.

Idéalement, l’école serait un endroit où nous disposerions de suffisamment de temps pour effectuer ce travail délicat. Hélas, comme toujours, nous sommes en manque de moyens, ici temporels. Il n’empêche : peut-être le “participez davantage” du bulletin n’est-il pas une injonction. Juste l’espoir que toi, élève, tu vas trouver comment ce que tu as en toi peut t’épanouir. Et épanouir les autres.

Laxus Dentamare (pronounced Locks-Us)

After the mysterious disappearance of his sister Gianna in the mid 1840s, Laxus joined the organization known only as the black coats. He became England’s most feared monster hunter. During a mission to investigate a traveling circus, Laxus is reunited with his sister. She explains thats she’s a witch and Laxus realizes she’s the monster he was sent to kill. Faced with a moral dilemma, Laxus realizes that he should side with magic and help defeat the organization. However, Laxus is found out to be a sympathizer with “monsters” and sentenced to death by the organization. He is tortured for hours while slowing dying. Because of the backwards nature of the organization, Laxus is torn limb from limb and beheaded. However, he awakens the next day on the banks of the River Thames. He gained cursed abilities and became an undead monster. Currently he lives in Manhattan, since the English sector of the organization still hunts him. To many organization members, Laxus is considered a myth. Laxus has learned to master his undead powers, able to detach and reattach his limbs and head as well as being able to manifest solid objects from the shadows. He lives with a vampire named Mary who he met in the 1990s after trying to out drink her. They both help support each others supernatural needs. Laxus also works as a coachman in Central Park in order to have some pocket money. Laxus misses his sister. He is still hunted by only one organization member, who’s future may intwine with his.

Mary Bellmore AKA “Red Wolf”

During the summer of 1969, Mary and her best friend Jenni set out to go to a concert. Jenni grew bored of Mary at the venue and left her to go have fun. Later that day Mary ran into a stranger she can’t remember and then woke up on the ground of the now empty venue. Jenni hauled Mary back to the car that Mary had drove. Jenni unable to control the car crashed, leading Mary to her first taste of human blood. Mary now haunted by Jenni’s ghost continued her miserable existence, until she met Fenris. Fenris was a shy drummer Mary met while at the mall one day in the 1980s. They quickly fell for each other and Jenni’s influence weakened. During this time Mary was contacted by a mysterious figure claim to work for The Vampire Queen. Hoping to enlist Mary into the vampire coven, the other vamps continued to pursue her claiming Mary had ties to the werewolf pack. Mary soon learned that Fenris was a newbie werewolf, whose pack was at war with the coven. Mary earned her name Red Wolf after choosing love over war. She misses Fenris each day. Later, Mary mets Laxus and the two of them in their immortal nightmare decide to room together. Mary also frequents the local high school, hoping to earn a diploma she never had a chance to earn.

Prince Felix Iah Elva of Elfinia

Felix was the prince of Elfinia during the human time of the 1840s. As a child, Felix had a deep fear and dislike for humans and the human world. Because of this his parents sent him to study in the human world. There he was thrown into the human world of underground magic. Felix learned that humans, and dark magic were not to be feared. While living among the humans, Felix landed a job as a stage hand for an English traveling circus. There he met Gianna, a young witch who was grew up in the circus after being abducted. Him and Gianna formed a beautiful friendship which blossomed into romance. Felix quickly realized he couldn’t return home with Gianna due to the taboo nature of dark magic, and the curse Gianna set in motion.

Mono Black

Asymmetry is considered extremely rare among both the fairies of the light and fairies of the dark. Being a dark fairy in Elfinia was extremely hard, he could never use his magic. However, despite this, Mono slipped up and used his powers as a child. This resulted in his capture by the royal guards of Elfinia. Taking pity on the young child, the equally young prince convinced the king and queen to allow Mono to be a palace worker. In order to keep Mono prisoner, he was given cursed iron cuffs which bound him to the Palac and took away his powers leaving him unable to even fly. The young prince, Mordekai, eventually grew bored of Mono and became increasingly abusive towards Mono. However, Mono is visited each week by his childhood friend Dylan, who peers over the palace wall to talk about life with him. Mono and Dylan’s relationship grows, especially after Mono gains his freedom. Mono shares a necro bond with Dylan, after Dylan is killed in a fight and Mono uses his powers to revive him. Mono has a hard time adjusting to freedom and his budding romance with Dylan.

Midnight Eclipse (original name unknown)

She’s the original OC of mine, and also who I take my username from. She’s had many forms (a miester, a pony, a demon) however I’ve settled on a vampire. In the canon of the Elfinia Saga, The Eclipse at Midnight is her vampire name. These are nicknames given to the vamps after doing something memorable. In their case, killing dozens of people to the point all light was eclipsed around her. Most of the vamps in the Elfinia Saga has such nicknames, like Red Wolf, Vampire Queen, and The Right Hand. Midnight isn’t part of the main timeline of the story but does know some of the characters in it.

What is Elfinia?

Elfinia is a story that I’ve been working on for the past few years. I have a story published on Wattpad that serves as a draft. I have modified the story to fit as a script made for TV or film. It’s a wild story about magic and friendship, and the script is completely different from the Wattpad story. I am planning to publish a new hybrid story, something in novel format but with the script’s plot, on Kindle Direct Publishing. If I earn enough money I will look into print publishing.
