WHATS THE VIDEO GAME IDEA YOU HAVE ???

You see this would never work because I am shit at RPG maker, am only okay at programing, and suck balls at sprite making and sound design and level design and balancing, but I do like theming and mechanical integration to themes, so the Idea persists nonetheless.

The basic setup is this: MC (named Freud, she/it) wakes up in a spaceship breakyard, where they break down old models of spaceships to harvest materials for new ones. Frued has no memory of the past week, and refuses to talk about it's past with anyone. You as the player can talk to Frued. She will also not reveal anything to you. As you do odd jobs at the shipyard, you finally gather enough to get off world, and throughout this, there will be times where your inputs aren't put through or Frued does something you didn't tell it to.

Offworld, you discover that you were on a terra formed Venus. Making your way back to Earth, the screen fades to black. It's 2 weeks later and suddenly it's first person. For the next section you find Earth to be relatively similar to modern earth except for the spaceships. Then you spend time talking with friends and going to union meetings. It's holiday and so you vote on several union proposals. You find out you are the figure head of the union, and are to go to Mars to tell the company your unions requests for next quarter. As you board the spaceship, fade to black.

2 years later, Freyd are holding her and her wife's baby in it's arms. Their name is Joshua. You don't know why you know this. The next scene plays like a cutscene. Company went bankrupt, but Frueds early contract end bonus gives her enough to easily live the rest of it's life off of. Frued and Jeremiah decide to spend their years exploring.

3 years later first person. Over grave of your wife and child's grave. The plague hit hard. You take a ship to outside the solar system, to explore the great beyond. Then the game in earnest begins.

Based on your decisions in the intro, you will have different stat buffs and debuffs for the rest of the game, such as "centrality". None of these stats are explained in the menu screen only their name. What centrality actually does, is help you remain grounded. The basic ideas of the game are mostly an exploration of the ideas of disassociation, specifically disassociative amnesia, but there is obviously heavy overlap with DID and OSDD. The main gameplay is a language game, where you go from rouge planet to rouge planet, attempting to decipher an unknown alien language, creating a Grammer book and language book. This society was heavily obsessed with the mind, and as you get further through the game, you find them discuss the exact situations your going through. At the end you meet the last of these aliens and they tell you they can't help you, because no help is required. Then the game ends. I have a lot more specific scenes and endings and mechanics in mind but this is the "main" path in mind.

This would take to long no way I would ever have the time to even write out the story probably, but maybe one day I will.

MARCILLE. In tumblr terms or whatever id describe her as failgirl. most of dunmeshi involves everyone going "wow this food is so good and fresh and yummy" and she throws a fit and rolls on the ground and screams and cries about how she DOESNT wanna eat it, she'll NEVER it it and if she eats this monster she'll DIE for REAL this time- and 2 minutes later shes eating it like "omg guys this is so good. this is so fucking good this is the best thing ive ever eaten" she suggested luring and killing a monster by sacrificing a dog and then admitted shed never caught one because she was too sad about the dog. because falin was the healer of her party she took the opportunity to learn every insane spell she could and now mostly does explosions. when nearly fatally wounded and hardly able to speak, having spent hours unconcious, she managed to scream 1 time because the others werent giving her enough of the monster food they cooked and she wanted more. she wears open toed sandals and no socks in a dungeon. she was against breaking the law 1 time to annoy senshi and now everytime shes faced with the fact that she has to break a law she goes "oh well" and carries on anyway. when asked how she met the love of her life she started the story by rambling about how she was a straight A grad student who had to ASK to be in the NORMAL classes and everyone loved her and admired her and thought she was the best. She does dark magic (highly illegal) but i once saw her described as the sort of person who wears crocs and white pants to a hike. She brought soap to a dungeon and got upset when it was melted by a dragon.

the aliens were a little scary <3 but it's okay they were. strangely cute. i still have no idea what happened to inukawa but. he's chilling now! i suppose...!! i was tentative at first when he mentioned that the aliens hadn't yet come up w weapons and i was like 😓 pleaseee don't show them how to make weapons... but he didn't! he kept that secret to himself i suppose. so we're all good. no worries abt alien invasion yet, so long as you have something to offer.

THANK YOU for being able 2 put it into words on that post..... despite s2 having so much of my favorite characters (terry jr and scary) i just... have struggled so hard with caring since the seasons been in full swing and it feels like the world in s2 isnt taken as like... genuinely enough i guess? and season two is very funny and entertaining but thats... all it is. any emotional arcs feel quickly forgotten & almost not at all drawn out and it feels like a mess with how often characters are just straight up forgotten,,, i love dndads and there was such a great setup for season two that i think just. fell flat in execution. even when nicky came back anthony admitted he called him nick Foster because he wasnt thinking at all about it and didnt care, and like. at a certain point even in a d&d setting you have to care about the characters youre making plot relevant at least a little bit, and suddenly the close family arc had nothing to do with season 1 and instead everything to do with stuff that happened completely offscreen (and again, once the dads were charting around with their kids they were often forgotten & added little to any scenes) just. it all got a little careless.

and im not caught up but ive heard about so much junk that happens in the... less than 10 episodes im behind on?? like i JUST got to the titanic part and it ends, what, 9 episodes later ??? i just wish it was more organized and theyd allowed themselves to like. take their time with things. i know the 20 or whatever episodes of glenns arc in s1 is known as 'too long' or super hard to get through but thats also how it made such an impact!! there was ALOT to get through and a lot happened to the close family. yet when alot happens in s2 its like, well that happened, and in an episode and a half it will never be mentioned again . even supporting npcs especially with a lot of potential dont stick around unlike characters like paeden or walter or even erin who got her own wrap up like. i dont remember the last time anyone even mentioned mae hails. yeah theres a degree that its messy and unorganized because thats how teenagers are but theres only so far that goes. and im pretty forgiving in d&d settings because 90% of what actually happens is up to random chance but theres a difference between 'this isnt good because im not actually writing it, and i dont have total control over this story' versus 'this isnt that good because we're not playing it that good'.

these kids really never had any time to rest, and it's actively hurting the narrative tension to the point that i just want them to be left alone </3

i can't fucking believe that they didn't care enough about nicky's whole deal to not even think about the implications of everything that happened to him. that felt like it should've been a core aspect of his character! and they just didn't care!! about that aspect of his family dynamic!!

i think that, at the end of season 1, the close family and the oak family had dynamics where it was understandable for issues to pop up offscreen. and i do think the underlying threads made sense to a degree! but it was so thoroughly unexplored in both families that it just made even more of a mess and all the characters involved suffered for it.

and i'm gonna be honest. i completely forgot about mae hails. man. man.

they all deserved so much better.
