my project falls in between the cracks of different overlapping artistic areas (it's not a film it's audio, it's audio fiction not audio journalism) but it really is something else that i qualify for a lot more grants now catered to "gender minorities" bc the other half of my production staff is a cis(het) woman tbh it feels a bit like a slap in the face.
i am a trans person writing about other trans people yet i do not qualify for so many of these grants for gender minorities bc they're specifically for "women and nonbinary people". i am a trans person who does not qualify but so many cis women do.
talking about transmasc erasure is exhausting bc ironically ppl get so hung up on the man part of the trans man identity and i just want to shake people and say i'm trans i'm trans stop forgetting that i'm trans. my experiences with systemic gender discrimination are closer to women (trans & cis) and nb people than they'll ever be to cis men's

bizarre thing i still don’t understand: transandrophobia guys going to bat to defend detrans ppl.
literally why post this in those tags. like you can type in the detrans tag and go see them calling trans ppl a cult and whatever but these dorks will continue to bicker about whether or not they’re valid until they’re blue in the face

I don't have much to say about Magne other than there was an Attempt, but. That time when Twice and Toga got angry with Overhaul for misgendering her was already indicative of what I'm going to get at in a sec, and obviously it was especially relevant because it was a direct show of respect and support from people who very clearly cared about her (and who called her big sis already as it was!!) (×2 imo because Twice was intentionally written to be the readers' insight into the LOV, and the character with whom they were supposed sympathise with the most at/since the beginning, so it's especially important that the first one who spoke up was him), but the story's progression (especially in recent years) is what most assures me that despite a rather poor execution (definitely not the best, but also certainly not the worst) Horikoshi did mean well with her. "People bound together by the chains of society always laugh at those who aren't" :(

It does make me wince to see people reduce Yonoi down to his relationship with Jack when he is a literal fascist. He was stationed in Manchuria ffs theres no sidestepping his incredibly violent, active participation in the imperial japanese war machine. How his driving goal in the film was the construction of the airstrip to assist in the IJA's efforts in Indonesia (which he wants to have the POWs build). How he's desperately ashamed he wasn't able to assist in the Ni Ni Roku incident or at least had a 'valiant' death alongside his compatriots. theres no avoiding it. but it's never talked about.

Think about the outrage around "he/him lesbians" and how fucking stupid that was and the ACTUAL REAL LIFE situations in which lesbians use he/him. You got that? You're thinking about that right now?
Ok now map that onto how you feel about all the other stupid arguments going on this week.

i’ve got to write something in enver’s pov for him and oz. i need to explore that man’s convoluted, weird, delusional, psychosexual feelings for my boy.
i’ve kinda explained it before that enver really really LOVES the idea of what oz could be, what he could mold oz into. i mean don’t get him wrong he enjoys oz how he is but couldn’t he be better? more refined? he looks at oz like an artist scrutinizing their magnum opus in the vain hope that this single stroke will make it absolutely perfect
