Blue tiger butterfly Tirumala limniace, the blue tiger is a butterfly found in South Asia and Southeast Asia that belongs to the crows and tigers, that is, the danaid group of the brush-footed butterfly family. This butterfly shows gregarious migratory behaviour in southern India. Description- In general, all butterflies can directly absorb heat from the sun via their wings to facilitate autonomous flight. Studies on blue tiger butterflies show that high-intensity light significantly increased flight activity. Blue tiger butterflies have a wing surface color that is composed of both light and dark colors. The dark areas on the wing surfaces are the heat absorption areas that allow for the facilitation of autonomous flight. length and weighs - around 5 mgs initially Feeding - They feed on milkweed plants and they are known to sequester toxins from the milkweed plant and become toxic. Wild rock doves are pale grey with two black bars on each wing, whereas domestic and feral pigeons vary in colour and pattern. Few differences are seen between males and females. The species is generally monogamous, with two squabs (young) per brood. Both parents care for the young for a time. SeaShell (shankh shimpla) A seashell or sea shell, also known simply as a shell, is a hard, protective outer layer created by an animal that lives in the sea. The shell is part of the body of the animal. Empty seashells are often found washed up on beaches by beachcombers. The shells are empty because the animal has died and the soft parts have been eaten by another animal or have decomposed. #beach #nature #water #ocean #instagood #photooftheday #beautiful #nikond3500 #nikon #dscvrwithlenses #sand #beautiful #shore #seashore #waves #sea #mumbai #marines #marin #beachphotography #beachphotoshoot #shell #shells #seashells #seashell (at Marine Lines) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4yvgXBHG4e/?igshid=1ffxudxr0xjk0

The pied kingfisher (Ceryle rudis) (Houring position) The pied kingfisher (Ceryle rudis) is a species of water kingfisher widely distributed across Africa and Asia. Originally described by Linnaeus in 1758, it has five recognised subspecies. Its black and white plumage and crest, as well as its habit of hovering over clear lakes and rivers before diving for fish, make it distinctive. Males have a double band across the breast, while females have a single gorget that is often broken in the middle. They are usually found in pairs or small family groups. When perched, they often bob their head and flick up their tail. Length - This is a medium-sized kingfisher, about 25 cm (9.8 in) long with a white with a black mask. Feeding - This kingfisher feeds mainly on fish, although it will take crustaceans and large aquatic insects such as dragonfly larvae. Houring position - Pied kingfishers (Ceryle rudis) capture fish by plunge diving from hovering that may last several minutes. Hovering is the most energy-consuming mode of flight and depends on active wing flapping and facing headwind. The power for hovering is mass dependent increasing as the cube of the size, while aerodynamic forces increase only quadratically with size. Consequently, birds above a certain body mass can hover only with headwind and for very short durations. Camera settings - using nikon d3500 70-300mm kit lense 180mm f/8.0 sutter speed 1/640 ISO 100 No flash used #bird #birds #imnikon #nikon #nikond3500 #nikon3500 #nickiminaj #photograph #photooftheday #naturephotography #nature #wildlifephotography #wild #wildlife #neral #likesforlikesback #matheran #dscvrwithlenses #indianbirds #indianbirdsphotography #kingfisher #kingfishers #piedkingfisher #birdoftheday #shootwithsaurav #sudhirshivaramphotography #sky #blackandwhite (at Saguna Baug) https://www.instagram.com/p/B3vyc1cHWHs/?igshid=xhs6j3zklajq
