And now my heart is sore.'

Hach diese wunderschönen Bäume! 🌳 Gerade im Winter, wenn sie jeden ihrer feinen Äste zeigen, sehen sie so mystisch und fast schon unwirklich aus. Under bare Ben Bulben’s head
In Drumcliff churchyard Yeats is laid.
An ancestor was rector there
Long years ago, a church stands near,
By the road an ancient cross.
No marble, no conventional phrase;
On limestone quarried near the spot
By his command these words are cut:
Cast a cold eye
On life, on death.
Horseman, pass by!
(WB Yeats, Under Ben Bulben)
Irish poet William Butler Yeats (1865-1939) is buried in the Protestant churchyard, Drumcliff, Co. Sligo, Ireland. As Yeats requested in his last poem he was buried within sight of Ben Bulben.

Aed O Domnaill, king of Tir Conaill, came into Carbury and ravaged the whole district, being advised thereto by his wife, the daughter of Magnus O Conchobair. She herself, with all the gallowglasses and men of the Clan Murtagh that she could obtain, marched against the churches of Drumcliff and plundered many of its clergy.
