recently downloaded a rain world mod that turns the slugcat until a parasite that possesses dead bodies and this is FUN. took over a dead scav corpse and used it to kill the rest of its group.

Scarborough, better known as the Marquis of Whispers, once belonged in a championship-winning team--up until a devastating battle with the Elite Four cost him his eye, his flight, and his purpose. Unable to keep up with battling, his trainer retired him, allowing him to live the rest of his life in peace. It was the kindest and cruelest thing they’d done to him. 

Once a battler, always a battler. As a wild woobat, he’d known all to well the fear and helplessness his colony faced; now that he’s gotten a taste of what it felt like to fell giants, he loathed to let that power go. So he broke his pokeball, grabbed a life orb, and stole into the dead of night. Pokemon are not supposed to hold life orbs for prolonged periods of time. After years of carrying it around, it has fused with Scarborough, acting as his energy well and his all-seeing eye. It put him in constant pain, but he’d been in chronic pain because of his injuries anyways so it didn’t make a difference. 

Scarborough knows he’s never beating any large pokemon in a straight battle, but he’s smart enough to figure out that he doesn’t need to. He is a psychic through and through, relying on smoke and mirrors to cow his enemies. His favourite tactic is to teleport just out of sight, setting up decoys and loosing Future Sights that leave his opponents unbalanced without ever finding his location. Mostly though, he specializes in espionage, blackmail, bargains in secrets. As the Marquis of Whispers, very few know of his true form; all they’re aware of is a huge purple eye, ever present, and ever watching...

(spur of the moment character sketch after wanting to see more powerful representations of one of my favourite underappreciated pokemon, swoobat. i love unconventional villains, and wanted to reimagine something small and cutesy as something terrifying to be feared)

Got too tired to draw dragapult, sorry about that guys :( Have a dreepy and drakloak instead. 

Since they’re part ghost-type, I headcanon them being semi-transparent, at least on their lower half. 

Edit: To everybody who's been correcting me that the dreepy line indeed has transparent tails in the game: Yes, I know now! This was made before I bought the game and before videos of them surfaced on the internet, so I didn’t have much to go off of
