“You have quite a temper,” Drenwin notes, a pleasant smile on his face.

“A temper implies irrational anger,” you snap. “Last time I checked I have many reasons to be angry.” You twist your body in a futile effort to stretch out the knots from your back. Sitting in one spot for this long has left you feeling like your limbs are made of rock, pulsing with a dull and persistent ache. “Is there not a faster mode of transportation?”

Drenwin tilts his head and leans it against the wall of the transport; a pillow of dark red tufted velvet. His fingers tap on the space next to him in quick beats that sound like he's trying to communicate via morse code. You wonder if that's simply an uncontrollable habit or if he's doing it on purpose.

“Already making demands. You’re fitting into this role nicely.”

“I’m not demanding. I’m asking.”

His reply is swift. His smile growing. “With a domineering tone.”

How would the ROs react in a fake-out make-out situation?

Azriel would hesitant and be quite unsure of himself. As he’s going in to kiss MC he’d mutter a small complaint like “Is this really necessary?” but wouldn’t want it to stop either….mostly just to see what it’s like. Once it’s over, he’d turn away and pretend it never happened and *try* to be nonchalant about it.

Ceris would be less composed, mostly because they’re inexperienced with…everything. They’d get really fidgety and sort of start panicking, MC would definitely have to take the reins with them. Once it’s over Ceris wouldn’t be able to look MC in the eye without turning red, and avoid MC for a good while just so they don’t embarrass themselves 😭

If MC were to say something like “kiss me” Vale would be be so up for it lol. “Don’t mind if I do” vibes and they’d go all in. Maybe even keep going even after they don’t have to anymore. Then they’d offer to do it again, but without any eyes next time lol

Taleea would be nervous, definitely, and she’d think MC is joking at first. When she realizes MC is not, she’d be oddly serious about the job and consider it like some essential part of the mission. “We can’t get caught, right? Let’s make this the best fucking kiss ever.” Afterward she’d try to compose herself and not bring it up again, or she’d treat it very normally. “It was to survive, right?” Shrug. (If she had a crush on MC, though, she’d blush every time MC looked her way afterwards.)

Namara would be stiff, but nervous on the inside. She’s shrug, trying to be cool, and say something like, “If this is what we must do.” She’d work real hard to make it a great kiss though, and afterward she’d actually straight up ask if it was satisfactory haha. Drenwin would giggle and be excited to do it, kind of like high on the adrenaline of hiding and kissing MC. He’d be very dramatic about it 😭 maybe too over the top. It’d be funny. Afterward he’d mention it any time he gets, wanting MC to stroke his ego and tell him what a good kisser he is.

Azzy alright with physical touch? My mc is kinda slow to befriend, but very affectionate in that sense platonically or romantically (if very good friends, will nyom super fast to their side if they can, will seek shoulder touches or hugs for comfort. If not then its lots of soft gazes and smiles)

Azriel would be a bit uncomfortable with it in the beginning mostly because he's not used to it. He's not a very outwardly affectionate or touchy person and he has little trust in others anyway so it'll definitely something he has to gradually get used to. On top of the fact that most people tend to avoid him due to his position and the mystery behind what he is, the whole idea of closeness is one sort of unfamiliar to him. Going back to the heavy petting thing, Azriel is good for it in the heat of the moment but when it comes to more casual times both romantically or platonically, he's very much like a statue, but I wouldn't imagine him rejecting MC outright (on either fronts).

He'd probably just let it happen but not really reciprocate it.

Namara, Drenwin and co are the closest to him and Namara isnt very affectionate either. Drenwin's outward affection is one that Azriel is used to, but Drenwin also knows how to see the signs of when Azriel needs space or is fed up.

With MC it'll take a while, but Azriel's affection is never really done carelessly. He's not one of those 'subconscious touchers' that do it without thought, he actually sweats over that.

Drenwin would be super chill it with since he's super affectionate. He grew up in a pretty cold environment and he compensates by being very warm.

Considering how stressful the MCs situation is, I could see them potentially indulging in comfort food and possibly trying to recreate New York style pizza. Bread dough and cheese are probably easy enough to get a hold of not sure if tomatoes exist in Eternia but a similar enough substitute could be definitely be used for the sauce, and of course cured meats although it probably lacks the bite of authentic pepperoni. 🤔

How would the various cast members react to this new culinary creation, and if they had the chance to try authentic NYC pizza, what sort of toppings would they prefer?

They do have tomatoes and they kind of have something similar to pizza but not really hahaha though truthfully, Eterna’s food (at least near the capital) is bland in comparison. Well, not bland but they don’t use as many different flavors as we do.

Drenwin: every topping they offer for the sake of trying, though he’d like pepperonis. They have something like sausages back in Eterna so it’d be kind of similar. Ceris: black olives! Vale and Namara would be pepperoni and mushroom people but Namara would absolutely fill it with chicken (a familiar meat.)

Hiiii Mae! Are all ro's able to have biological children with mc?

Yes! Though Taleea's offspring with a human would definitely make them a halfling or just barely, since Taleea is a halfling herself. For Mages, magic is inherited but it's not guaranteed so it would be 50/50 for Drenwin's kids. Same goes for the rest!

As for Azriel...his true nature might pose a bit of a problem but it's possible, though not recommended. Truthfully, I don't think he'd want to try, in fear of his children being what he is, but maybe he'd come around.

Saying 'they don't know what they're doing' is inaccurate, I guess. When it comes to MC? Clueless. While they were aware of the existence of other realms, they have never jumped the Veil (portal) before. They don't know what to do. So yeah, they're pretty much hopeless in that front, but they're experts on military strategy in Eterna and they were together before this :) Drenwin was a hired Mage since he attended the military academy. His family is prominent in high Eternan circles so he was always destined to be important in the Guard.

But they're not completely clueless...just where MC is involved lmao

Azriel would get really sheepish. He's not a good at flirting but he'd definitely try. MC would probably have to be the one leading (in the beginning at least) and he'd be like...awkwardly nodding along like an enthusiastic kid lmao He'd become a bumbling mess, honestly. His cool demeanor would fade quickly. And he'd blush...and if anyone saw him blush he'd probably smite them.

Life, for the most part, has been all-around uneventful. You work in Manhattan at a convenience store under a sleazy boss in order to scrape by and support your struggling family. Your dad is absent, your mom is too tired to parent, one brother is getting arrested while the other has detached himself from the life he once had. Still, while your days as a twenty-something employee are mundane, at least they're predictable.

Meanwhile, in another realm, the magical dark world of Eterna is in ruin. A war against an entity and his bloodthirsty creatures is brewing, and after the powerful royal family is viciously murdered and the only living child--and now rightful owner of the throne--goes missing, that evil is one step closer to winning.

But of course, that's not your problem. That's in a whole other universe, one you don't even know exists. Your biggest worry is whether you'll be able to take on a double shift tomorrow. Right?

AZRIEL DAMARIS [RO] (m, he/him): once S's primary royal guard, Azriel has been promoted as the general of the Eternan army and head of the operation to save S. Stiff, serious, and severe, Azriel is tasked with being guard and guiding you through the world of politics and royalty. Unfortunately, Azriel doesn't want you here and he doesn't do much to hide it.

NAMARA AL-LUVEN: [RO] (f, she/her) Azriel's second, Namara is a fierce warrior and loyal to the cause. She's quite difficult to read, distant considering who you are.

DRENWIN SILVA: [RO](m, he/him): a skilled Mage and jester, Drenwin works alongside the Eternan army and puts his skills to work. He seems to be the most approachable of the bunch, which isn't saying much.

VALE: [RO](nb, they/them) the boisterous, flirtatious and arrogant mercenary turned pirate captain of The Lady Mystica. Vale exists simply to make and spend as much coin as possible while engaging in their harem and abundance of bad habits.

CERIS BESILLE [RO] (selectable, she/her, he/him, they/them): a priest-in-training, Ceris is fiercely devoted to their beliefs. Reserved and easily scandalized, they haven't left their quarters in the church since they were twelve, contributing to their lack of outside experience and rather insular outlook on the world.

TALEEA FAREWYN [RO] - (she/her) A half-fae Healer, Taleea follows alongside you as your right hand. She seems to be the only one empathetic to your circumstances, but it's hard to trust anyone in this world, especially someone who is so keen on being...nice.

ARWEN/ARYA VALARIN: [RO] (selectable, she/her, he/him): A Valarin is S's childhood friend and their arranged betrothed. A has been S's other half since they were kids, which means you need to be extra careful around them. They have no idea you're not S and judging from your orders, it's better they never find out.
