Nike’s Women’s World Cup Ad Celebrates Today and Tomorrow’s Soccer Stars

The Women’s World Cup is almost here and a lot of brands are celebrating the event with campaigns to help promote it. Nike is the latest brand to release a campaign celebrating the anticipated event. Nike’s Women’s World Cup ad continues with the brand’s “Dream Crazy” positioning. The campaign is titled “Dream Further” and it features a slew of top athletes. Nike’s Women’s World Cup ad is very inspiring and electrifying and it was created with the creative agency Wieden + Kennedy Portland. The campaign celebrates today and tomorrow’s soccer female stars.

About Nike’s Women’s World Cup Ad: Dream Further
The dream further ad features a slew of female soccer stars and 10-year-old Makena Cook, an aspiring footballer. The starts by showing us the stadium tunnel at a match between the Netherlands and Nigeria. We are introduced to Makena Cooke, who is led to the field by Dutch soccer star Lieke Martens. When the beginning ceremony is over she is told that ‘she is not done,’ we then see Cooke being thrust into matches to play out her dreams alongside her idols. Cooke also gets the opportunity to assist former England international Alex Scott, who is imagined as the coach of the Barcelona men’s team. Each athlete holds Cooke’s hand, this acts as a metaphor for how the current generation of stars will lead the next generation into the future. As she moves from one scenario to another, “Bad Reputation” by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts plays in the background. Nike’s Women’s World Cup ad ends with Cooke being pit against the defending champion U.S. Women’s National Team and forward Crystal Dunn, as the younger player serves Australian mega-star Sam Kerr up with a perfect assist for a goal. The powerful and electrifying spot ends on the line: “Don’t change your dream. Change the world.”

Challenge The Traditional Expectations of Society
In line with its ongoing campaign highlighting women, including the recent release of “Dream Crazier“, Nike has created a campaign for the South Korean market calling on women to ‘Choose Phenomenal’. 
The one-minute spot, created by Wieden + Kennedy Tokyo, features Korean female athletes side-by-side with images of celebrities emphasizing that women are empowered by their choices from birth. Though the ad was launched a month back, it’s part of the brand’s global campaign leading up to International Women’s Day this Friday. 
According to Wieden + Kennedy in a statement to Branding in Asia, the spot spotlights women who “have boldly made their own choices. With all of these different choices, they’re able to demonstrate that there isn’t only one path to greatness.”

Favorite Brands!
Before I get started with my project and wish of building my personal brand, I want to talk about some commercial and big brands world wide world, brands that everyone knows about and with which I feel empathy and respect ... I'll tell you why. 
This is not a classification, so the order in which I am going to mention the brands does not mean that I like one more than the other, they all have factors that make them unique. 
First, I'll start with Nike, this is a sports brand that like others, sells a healthier life, and like all of them, they talk about the good quality and technology that their products have, so, what makes it different? The answer have three words... “JUST DO IT”.

This slogan conveys the whole soul of the company. For me, this is one of the best in the industry, because it gives enough energy in every marketing campaign from ads on social networks to commercials on television in which they remind us that we all have enough character to do whatever we want. We just have to start one step at a time and make it happen. 
I especially remember a commercial for the "Dream Crazier" campaign in which Serena Williams gives a message of empowerment to women who are expected to have a certain behavior and the message is clear, no matter what they say, if you are passionate about something , JUST DO IT.
Now, I will talk about a brand that I know that accompanied many of us during childhood and continues to do so and it's Pixar.

I believe this is one of the brands that has brought the most joy to most of the people in the world, and each of us owe it countless memories. One of the reasons why I like them so much is because they invite us not to forget our inner child, helping us to continue dreaming by giving us different stories in all their films and animated shorts. 
Also, it is a brand that knew how to manage their humor, in a way in which everything can be enjoyed in the same way, both in children and adults.
Last but not least is Coca-Cola or just Coke, depending on where you are. This is a brand that has different opinions, quite separate one from the other (some good and some bad) but I’ll give you mine.

Like Pixar, I feel that Coca-Cola has an important connotation for many, because it is closely tied to childhood memories. For example, I know that many of us remember Christmas commercials, especially those that featured polar bears, that personally made me feel a lot of happiness.
at the same time I believe that they are geniuses in advertising, and that every corner of the brand is meticulously constructed. They knew how to generate empathy with many, since their advertising focuses on emotions, family and union.
