Fantasy cricket! The thrill of building your dream team!
Fantasy cricket: the thrill of building your own dream team and watching them battle it out on the virtual field. But victory? A tricky dance. So, here's a sprinkle of fantasy cricket tips to turn you from underdog to champion. First, form matters. Pick players in peak form, even if they're not household names. Remember, stats, not stardust, win leagues. Balance is key. Don't over-indulge in superstar batters - diversify with wicket-taking bowlers and reliable all-rounders. Read the pitch report. Is it a batsman's paradise or a graveyard for spinners? Choose players who suit the conditions. Captain's call is crucial. Select your captain and vice-captain wisely. Their exploits double and multiply – make them your game-changers. Stay flexible. Don't be afraid to use transfers wisely, adapting your team to the ebb and flow of the tournament. And lastly, trust your gut, research trends, and enjoy the ride. Remember, fantasy cricket is a marathon, not a sprint. Play smart, stay consistent, and your dream team might just become reality.

Fantasy Cricket Frenzy: Unleash Your Inner Champion with Match Day Mastery
Tumblr media
The roar of the crowd, the crack of the willow, the electrifying tension as runs chase wickets – a cricket match is a spectacle like no other. But for you, the thrill goes beyond the boundaries. This is your battleground, your chance to claim glory in the arena of fantasy cricket! To conquer your league, you need more than just a love for the game; you need strategic prowess and match-day magic. Fear not, aspiring champion, for this blog is your arsenal of tips to dominate the fantasy cricket universe!
Decode the Pitch, Master the Match:
Before drafting your dream team, crack the code of the battlefield. Dive into CricTracker's pitch report, understanding its character – is it a bouncy haven for pace bowlers or a batsman's paradise favoring big hitters? Remember, knowledge is power! Picking players who thrive in those conditions is key. A six-machine on a flat deck might crumble on a swinging surface. Be the general who knows their terrain, and victory will be within your grasp.
Form is Fleeting, Class is Eternal:
Current form can be tempting, but don't be seduced by its fleeting allure. CricTracker's detailed player stats are your treasure trove. Look for those with consistent track records in similar conditions. A batsman averaging 40 across the last five matches on bouncy pitches is a safer bet than a hotshot whose last fifty came on a flat track. Class endures the test of time, so build your team on a foundation of proven performers.
Exploit the Matchup:
Battles are rarely equal. Unleash the power of CricTracker's head-to-head statistics. Is a fast bowler known for tormenting a particular opening batsman? Does a spinner have a stranglehold on a middle-order maestro? These are your weapons of opportunity! Picking players who historically dominate their opponents can turn the tide in your favor. Remember, a clever strategist anticipates the enemy's moves, and you, my friend, are a grandmaster in the making.
Value Hunters Assemble!:
Fantasy teams are like economies – a balance is key. While star players are alluring, don't neglect the bargain hunters of the cricketing world. CricTracker's player rankings and affordability breakdowns are your secret weapons. Identify unheralded players in good form at bargain prices. A cheap bowler taking consistent wickets or a pinch-hitting batsman with explosive potential can be your game-changers. Remember, diamonds are often hidden in the rough, so keep your eyes peeled!
Captain Your Destiny:
This is where champions are crowned. CricTracker's captaincy suggestions are a good starting point, but add your own strategic touch. Analyze the batting order, potential bonus points for milestones, and the match situation. Pick a captain in prime position to score big, and a vice-captain who can step up if needed. Remember, a wise leader makes the right call at the right time. Be the captain who rallies your team to victory!
Embrace the X-Factor:
Beyond stats and matchups lies the X-factor – that gut feeling about a player who's about to explode. Maybe it's a young gun brimming with confidence, or a veteran playing for redemption. Trust your instincts, fueled by CricTracker's player profiles and news updates. Sometimes, a calculated gamble on an under-the-radar player can reap rich rewards. Remember, fortune favors the bold!
Adapt and Conquer:
The game is never static. CricTracker's live scorecard and ball-by-ball updates are your real-time war room. Monitor the match closely, and don't be afraid to make substitutions based on how the match unfolds. A dropped catch, a rain delay, a late-innings burst – each event presents an opportunity to tweak your team and maximize your points. Remember, a true warrior adapts to the changing tides of battle. Be the one who seizes every opportunity!
Bonus Tip:
Follow CricTracker's expert fantasy cricket tips. Their wisdom, gleaned from years of experience, can be invaluable in navigating the ever-shifting landscape of fantasy cricket.
With these tips and CricTracker as your ally, you're ready to charge into the fantasy arena and claim victory! So, the next time you witness a cricket match, remember – it's not just about the players on the field, it's about you making your mark in the grand game of fantasy! Go forth, champion, and conquer your league!

As an XY enjoyer, I was holding out hope for new Kalos games rather than Unova remakes. And Apparently I was right to do so! Now with the new game announcement, it means some things to me and I have predictions/thoughts.
(more under the cut in case.... future spoilers)
1. It seems like it's set in the modern day, potentially not long before or after the originals. So We probably get to see more Sycamore. Which. Yes please. Gimme. I would like to see my boy.
Tumblr media
2. If it's set not long after the originals, Potentially a Lysandre return. Or mention. There's no way he's DEAD dead. So they better do him justice. He got flubbed in the original games.
3. MORE KALOS LORE! FINALLY! 11/12 YEARS (when Legends ZA releases) AFTER XY PROPER!
4. The cancelled event Pokémon, AZ's Floette, might ACTUALLY be obtainable this time around! (Which also means the return of event mythicals like Volcanion, Hoopa, and Diancie)
4.5 which also means if you have Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde from either the original games or the shinies from Go, USUM Ultra Wormholes, or SWSH Dynamax Adventures, they can probably be brought over!
5. Zygarde might be the big bad you have to defeat this time around, using Xerneas and Yveltal to stop them. Probably controlled by someone like Xerosic. (think like Ultra Necrozma in USUM, or Eternatus in SW/SH)
5.5 that being said, Xerneas and Yveltal may get new powered up forms (potentially Megas) as a boost to calm the rampaging Zygarde
6. Sycamore actually participates in Story Events with the player. Because he might feel bad for asking so much of them the first time. (It's a stretch but a Sycamore lover can dream. I want to see him be a badass like in the anime. Give him his Garchomp)
7. Team Flare might still be kicking around, though subdued a bit depending on how long after the originals it's been. Maybe some new faces in there. Malva is probably the one running things with Lysandre being MIA.
8. It might be revealed that Kalos and Paldea did have beef in the past, which is where Paldea's crater came from. Bringing Paldean pokemon into Kalos may strike up new dialogue. (If paldean 'mons can be transferred over, that is. If that's the case though Terapagos, Ogerpon, and the Sandwich Dragons are going to be nerfed. HARD. Especially the small Terastal Turtle.) (i wanna see Sycamore's reaction to a Clodsire or Terapagos. He'd love the little guys.)
9. New megas, but that's kinda obvious. I'm thinking some i want to see are going to be Rapidash, Talonflame, and the original Box Art Legends.
10. It may be revealed that Sycamore and Lysandre did have a little fling, if not a full on relationship before the weapon incident. They gave us Brassius and Hassel in SV. And implied one with ORAS Maxie and Archie. You know what we want, Gamefreak.
(bonus) 11. A Paldean character might appear for a side quest.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm holding out hope. But just the fact we're getting more Kalos stuff at all is enough to make me happy. It gets glossed over far too much.
Review: Thanksgiving (2023)
Thanksgiving (2023)
Rated R for strong bloody horror violence and gore, pervasive language and some sexual material
Tumblr media
<Originally posted at https://kevinsreviewcatalogue.blogspot.com/2023/11/review-thanksgiving-2023.html>
Score: 3 out of 5
Thanksgiving is a movie that feels like a remake of itself. Specifically, a 2000s Platinum Dunes slasher remake, rather appropriately given that the film began life as a fake trailer for the 2007 film Grindhouse homaging the retro holiday slasher flicks of the '80s, with a mix of depraved and gory deaths, phenomenally stupid characters, and low-budget sleaze. It's an idea that has been bouncing around in director and co-writer Eli Roth's head for years, and even as he went on to make other movies, he never gave up on the idea of turning it into a feature film the way that Machete and Hobo with a Shotgun, two other fake trailers attached to Grindhouse, had been. The film he and co-writer Jeff Rendell ultimately made feels like a film that's ultimately, after sixteen years, wound its way from being an homage to '80s horror to being an homage to '00s horror, the decade in which Roth cut his teeth as a filmmaker, filled as it is with elements of that era's slasher flicks that now seem old enough to be nostalgic in their own right. It homages a lot of the trailer's more memorable scenes, but wraps them in a package that's at once darker and grittier but also slicker and more polished, with a big-name cast (a mix of veteran actors like Patrick Dempsey and Gina Gershon, Disney Channel stars like Milo Manheim, and influencers like Addison Rae) paired with exactly the kind of violence you'd expect from a filmmaker who was once considered one of the leading figures behind the "Splat Pack" of ultraviolent 2000s horror movies. Most importantly, it's a movie I enjoyed, even if I'll be the first to admit that it's no classic, or one of Roth's best. It's a fairly by-the-numbers whodunit teen slasher cut from a very post-Scream cloth that doesn't have a lot of surprises, but does have some solid thrills and chills that I suspect are gonna ensure that it gets rewatched a fair bit by horror fans around the Thanksgiving holiday.
Set in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the film opens with a Black Friday riot at RightMart instigated by a mix of the store's owner Thomas Wright deciding to open early on Thanksgiving night and a group of teenagers, including Thomas' daughter Jessica, managing to sneak in early and provoke the crowd outside when they see them. Three people die in the ensuing stampede, a security guard, a shopper, and the wife of the store's manager, while the high school baseball team's star pitcher Bobby gets his arm broken, killing his sporting dreams. One year later, a killer in a Pilgrim costume and a mask of the Plymouth Colony's first governor John Carver is hacking up people connected to the "FightMart" riot, on a quest for revenge. Now, the teens, along with the local sheriff Eric Newlon, must figure out who's behind the murders before they're the next to die.
It's a simple slasher plot of a sort that we've seen a million times in the last twenty-five years, and it was honestly a fairly predictable one. The killer's identity is telegraphed pretty early on, it wasn't much of a surprise when the big reveal came, and the main plot was rather boilerplate once you scratch the surface. You've got a lot of archetypal teen horror movie stock characters (the aggro jock, the sexy best friend, the shifty boyfriend, the cool geek because it's 2023 and unpopular nerds don't work anymore, the girl who you know is gonna make it to the end and defeat the killer) who largely stay within their lane, as well as adult supporting cast members who are there to serve as cannon fodder and/or suspects. The plot involving the store's greedy management was established in the first act but never really built upon after. It's not altogether completely disposable from a writing standpoint, but this is still a teen slasher movie, and you don't watch these films for particularly in-depth plotting and characterization unless you see an A24 plate on the opening credits.
No, you watch because you want the goods. You want stabbings, decapitations, dismemberment, mutilations, and more, all vividly displayed on screen in ways that earn this movie an R rating. And when you've got the guy who made Cabin Fever and Hostel behind the camera, that's what you're gonna get. This movie comes alive when it's time to kill, and it doesn't care how ridiculous it gets with the bloodshed. The deaths range from the deadly serious to the awesome to the comical (one death in the opening Black Friday scene involving a man literally shopping 'til he dropped had me in stitches), but no matter what, when John Carver is doing what his name suggests, that's when it felt like Roth was most invested in the material. There's one lengthy chase scene late in the film, climaxing with one of its best and most gruesome kills, that I think is gonna go down as one of the classics. The gore is plentiful, and it is icky and gross.
The cast was surprisingly good for a movie like this. Nell Verlaque may not have had much of a character to work with as Jessica beyond "the final girl", but she did it well, in particular giving great "scared face" whenever she was confronted by the killer or realized that her friends were in danger. Patrick Dempsey made for a good authority figure as the sheriff, and if you're wondering how Addison Rae did, she actually wasn't bad. Finally, the actor playing the killer was wonderfully hammy after the big reveal, and I wouldn't have accepted anything less given the kind of movie this was, delivering the most ridiculous dialogue ("this Thanksgiving, there will be no leftovers!") with the straightest face without even once winking at the camera. On every technical level, this movie was at the very least competent, and never wore out its welcome.
The Bottom Line
Thanksgiving could've stood to have a bit more meat on its bones story-wise in order to make the parts between the kills more interesting, but the kills were plentiful and grisly enough, and its other qualities competent enough, that I could forgive it. Even if it's just from lack of competition, I see this sticking around as a go-to Thanksgiving/Black Friday horror flick.
Fantasy Cricket tips to guide your success!
Craving fantasy cricket glory? Here's the cheat sheet to smashing sixes on your leaderboard! First, ditch the "all-star" trap. Prioritize in-form players over big names, especially those thriving on current pitches. Analyse weather and venue – a bouncy track favours power hitters, while spin reigns supreme on dry, low pitches. Balance is key – stack your batting with top-order monsters and sprinkle in wicket-taking bowlers, both pace and spin. Don't underestimate the bonus points! Pick bowlers likely to grab early wickets or complete overs, and capitalize on bonus categories like catches and stumpings. Finally, trust your gut! Research is crucial, but sometimes a player's on-fire form whispers opportunity. So, channel your inner Nostradamus, pick wisely, and watch your fantasy team dominate the pitch! Remember, these are just tips, so go forth, experiment, and unleash your fantasy cricket prowess!
Tagged by @hxhhasmysoul thank you!  Let’s see how far I can get before I give up and go to bed...
1. Are you named after anyone?
My parents stole my name from my aunt, who was considering it for my cousin.   I was born first so the name went to me instead.  It’s a random one out of a book.
2. When was the last time you cried?
A few months ago I think... definitely baby-related.
3. Do you have kids?
His five-month birthday was a few days ago!
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Almost never
5. What sports do you play/have you played?
I’ve played softball and baseball on formal teams and I was on the middle school gymnastics team.  Up til middle school I considered myself good at sports, I was usually picked first /second in pickup games (privilege of having an earlier birthday than others). Puberty wasn’t kind and now I don’t play many sports at all, maybe like pickleball or badminton, sports where you don’t have to run.  I do have fairly good coordination & reflexes though.
6. What’s the first thing you notice about other people?
Usually weight... sadly....
7. What’s your eye colour?
Same as munen (dark brown).
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
Depends on my mood, if I’m depressed I want the happy ending.  In general I want movies to not be predictable (same as munen again).
9. Any special talents?
I can touch my nose with my tongue
10. Where were you born?
One town over from where I currently live
11. What are your hobbies?
Reading is the main one, or if I’m feeling stressed out I’ll buy children’s craft kits and do them. A while back my stress hobby was watching ACNH videos on youtube and updating my island; before that it was watching bullet journalling videos and prettifying my bullet journal.   Writing & playing video games are my big social hobbies I’ll do to find a community and make friends but both require a big chunk of uninterrupted time so I haven’t been able to do either lately.
12. Do you have any pets?
two cats
13. How tall are you?
average height
14. Favorite subject in school?
math & science
15. Dream job?
I have complaints about my job (high school math teacher), it’s stressful, but overall I can’t think of anything else I’d want to do more.
Tagging but only if you want to: @cateringisalie, @autumnxsunflower
(NOTE: this was a draft i made a few months ago about a running joke i'd been planning, in which i'd "die" because of the primeboys meetup. seeing as this will never happen, i'm choosing to let it go out into the world anyways to ring in the year because i cant stand the sight of it in my drafts anymore and i spent over 2 years making this joke to not post the conclusion. funny how primeboys died instead of me lol)
Last Will and Testament Of Glare Primeboyers:
Seeing as I, Glare Primeboyers, predict myself to pass away due to the meeting of Primeboys, I am drafting my final will to my loyal, devoted followers and mutuals. Upon the inevitable meeting, my digital death will likely occur as soon as I find out that Primeboys have met up in person. Due to this prediction, I am choosing to write my will now, because I know you all will miss me so, so very much since I am simply Amazing and The Best Ever. I hope you all mourn for the obligatory 24 hours (after which, I will resurrect because I am indestructible).
To my Primeboys followers and mutuals, I leave:
Half of my abominably large collection of Tommyinnit Merchandise (11 total pieces, you get 5)
My Dream Team 3 of a kind Crewneck that's like 2 sizes too small
The Disc earrings I bought because of them
To my Inniter followers and mutuals, I leave:
The other half of my extensive Tommyinnit collection (you get the other 6 pieces)
The compass I bought because of Clingyduo
My physical copy of Passerine
My yellow rose pins
My Twitch account - Please make sure to renew my Prime subscription every month for me.
To my Pandasblr followers and mutuals, I leave:
My tiktok collection of Sapnap edits
My instax camera and portable printer (please ONLY use this for Sapnap photos, he is the only person that should be photographed Ever)
If you do not fit in any of these categories, I leave:
The rest of my merch collection
Access to all the fanfiction that I never finished writing
DO NOT take my Sapnap hoodie. I would like to be buried in that.
You all may fight over ownership of my blog because I know it's just so desirable. Thank you for the memories, and I will miss you all for the 24 hours that I am (digitally) dead 🕊️🕊️🕊️
Note
I have a few crack predictions, some realistic and some not:
-The whole team comes out as some kind of queer person and Colin's dream has come true
-We get Michael this episode (and if they win Colin gets to kiss him, maybe not in front of the cameras but surrounded by his friends)
-Totally ripped off another person's post but the team finds out Ted's leaving and they all run to the airport to stop him rom-communism style
-Trent will once again be serving cunt
-I am a TedTrent girly so I desperately want another interaction
-Bex and Rupert break up and she gets the club :)))
-Say Ted does leave to Kansas and we see him there, I want him to mention his boys are coming for a visit soon 🥺🥺
-Roy and Keeley back together, and they're in a throuple with Jamie
-I kinda wanna see Henry again this episode??? Like maybe even if it's just via FaceTime and Henry is the one that convinces Ted to stay in London (because if the whole reason Ted is leaving London is for his son, then I think his son should be the one to convince him to stay)
-I WANT TED TO CALL THE TEAM HIS BOYS AND TELL THEM HOW PROUD HE IS OF THEM OKAY IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK FOR?????
-I want Richard and Jan to have some more screen time I love them so much 🥺🥺
This went off the rails a bit but yeah 👍 this is my list what do you think???
Ahhhh thank you!!
Gonna take these one by one.
1. I think there are a few token straights in there, but definitely few and far between! Someone call Oprah, stat!
2. Yes yes yes. Before Amsterdam I was convinced that Colin was going to kiss Michael after a match or something and prove Nate wrong when he told Colin he doesn't inspire people. Notably, I thought he would inspire Baz to introduce his West Ham boyfriend to the pub gang. But then Colin said he didn't want to be a spokesperson, so I think maybe at a post-season or leaving party. Having said that I think that Colin and Will are adorable and should date.
3. YES. I saw this post too! Absolutely love this idea and want it to be true more than any other theory. He has won them over (even Roy!) with the Romcommunism. And the absolute chaos of all of them running through the airport would be a thing of beauty.
4. When is Trent not?
5. I too have fallen prey to the Tedependent brain rot. They have to talk about the book surely? And Ted HAS to ask Trent what he is doing next, right?? I mean, in a world where the ship became canon there are a million different scenarios I would be happy with. Trent doing the airport dash (maybe with the himbos as support), Trent saying nothing and Ted realising when he read the book which is just a long love letter, Trent turning up on the plane to Kansas, something in the press room, they go out for a meal to relive their first date interview... the list goes on.
6. Yes. 100% think this will actually happen. Slightly more on the cracky side: Rebecca and Bex are slowly going to get all the Premier League owners' wives to take over the clubs 🤣
7. Beard and Rebecca are going to arrange some friendly matches for Richmond to play against US Teams so everyone will visit.
8. Wouldn't be mad about Roy/Jamie/Keeley if it happened. It would certainly make sense after the last few episodes! Phoebe would be over the fucking moon. She is gonna be one rich niece! 🤣
9. I think Henry will play a big part for sure. Either he stops Ted from leaving, convinces him to go back to London because he's unhappy, or he moves to London. I am sort of half convinced it's the last one because they have been laying the ground work for it with the bullying and the failing science and the fact he doesn't seem to care too much for Dr. Jacob.
10. There will for sure be one last locker room speech, but I am kinda holding out for him winning Manager of the Season and saying something like that then and making everyone (especially me) cry.
11. Richard and Jan both crack me up. I am so grateful that we have gotten more of the team this series, but there's never enough time 😩
