Reading from the same author is nice, because you can see them growing in their craft, and also as a person.

Reading from the same author with the same translator is nice, because the translator has a connection to that world, they would be able to use the same stuff or at least have the same mindset while doing their work.

And there you have Murtagh (2023) which had a new translator, since Bihari György, who translated book 1-3, died in 2020, and Urbán Erika, who translated book 4, died in 2021. Dranka Anita, I want to know that after four books, why did you thought that it'd be a good idea to change the meaning of Zar'roc. Yeah, "nyomorúság" is a bit old school, but if we are good with Les Miserables/Nyomorultak, then WHY did you change it to "tortúra"/torture?? And the editors were fine with it???

Aright I finally started playing Dragonflight after a very generous and soft ber gifted it to me, so I should probably do the ‘hey so where are my characters at the start of Dragonflight?’ not like i said i would do this last year than completely forgot to whoops

Draggka - Has been essentially on maternity leave since Saurfang’s funeral in Karazhan with Khadgar. She gave birth before the veil to the Shadowlands is torn asunder, and spent the entirity of that debacle on Azeroth, raising her new baby. She was present at Thalyssra and Lor’themar’s wedding with Khadgar, youngster in tow.

Now Zal’ria is about 3 years old and is about to start...school, I guess, she’s ready to join her husband going to the Dragon Isles. Though, they have made Karazhan hearthstones to go back to see their daughter and make sure Medivh isn’t babysitting by teaching the youngster how to cast Pyroclast.

Zal’ria - This little tyke has been born and is still a wee bab! She’s been absorbing knowledge like a little sponge and is babbling in Zandali, Orcish and Common when she isn’t trying to get into everything and anything. Khadgar and Medivh have helped Zal learn to contain and practice her magic, so she is a little ahead of some of her peers, but she still has much to learn.

Although it’s planned for Zal to start her education in Dalaran, that’s not to say she might not be shown the more..peaceful area of the Dragon Isles...

Dranka - Took over from his sister when she retreated to Karazhan, and helped fight against N’Zoth. Was there at the birth of Zal’ria, and dotes on his little niece. Went to the Shadowlands with the others, working with the Night Fae in Ardenweald.

Has spent his time catching up with his sister and teaching his little niece about the Loa, when he isn’t helping the Cenarion Circle.

Harnaka - Fought alongside Dranka against N’Zoth and joined him in the Shadowlands. Helped deliver Zal’ria and has occasionally spoken to the little one on the elements.

Began dating Cayeli, which the two are taking slow. Has appreciated the time to be able to explore their feelings towards one another.

Cayeli - Fought against N’Zoth and travelled into the Shadowlands, joining the Venthyr. She learnt many things there, one of which being the fate of Kael’thas, which caused her to reassess many things in her life.

As such, she has began dating Harnaka, and took the time of peace to eplore their feelings. She was also at Zal’ria’s birth, using her healing skills to help Draggka through labour.

Aiyaona - Fought against N’Zoth and also went to the Shadowlands, aiding the Kyrian and wrestling with her heritage once more. She still hasn’t fully reconciled it, but after helping assist in Zal’ria’s birth, Aiya is starting to become more confident in herself.

She has been aiding the rebuilding efforts in the peace and has began seeing a Highmountain tauren warrior by the name of Jeipuh Proudleaf. It’s only been tentative so far, but her freinds are excited to see her grow.

Elizabone - Fought against N’Zoth, bitterly disowning Sylvanas and also following her friends through the rift to the Shadowlands. She was at Zal’ria’s birth, though spent her time guarding the perimeter of Karazhan, just in case. She has mixed feelings about the youngster, wondering if a rotting old crone such as she should be in a youngster’s life, yet something about Zal’s innocence moves her.

In the peacetime, she has been helping the Forsaken find their feet without Sylvanas, and considering where she stands now, amongst it all.

Tinkerspring - Also tussled with N’Zoth and went to the Shadowlands, coming out with the epiphany that ‘the afterlife sucks, dying is overrated’. She was the main midwife at Zal’ria’s birth, and has kept an eye on the tyke ever since, generously waiving ‘the medical fees’.

She and her brother Fizzlespring have been making as much business as they can during peacetime, whilst Tink has been sending letters to a certain goblin she may or may not have a crush on...

I do have Alliance alts and other spare Horde chars, but they’re unfortunately so underdeverloped there’d be a whole lot of loud shrugging from my end! As it is some of the above characters don’t even have Covenants they would have belonged to, SO.

I weighed my self for the first time in a while and my weight went UP. Idk if it's cus I have went to the gym a lot lately and I dranka lot of water today but I can't handle that number. I know I gained quite a bit of muscle bc I have been trying to lift a lot lately, but in my mind it's like im still eating too much. I do omad so I just don't get it. Brief timeline recap, with added retcons and general housekeeping

Wow. It’s been a while! I’ve finally got motivation and time, so let’s get into it.

I’ve become more laissez-faire with time and timelines in my headcanons now, which is a great relief as doing a pregnancy timeline for Draggka was a lot and very rigid, and boy I cannot summon up that much energy to do that any more, holy heck! (Where did all that energy go, please can I have it back?)

But roughly Draggka became pregnant with Zal’ria before Battle for Azeroth, and her pregnancy progressed through the expan up to I think when Zandalari formerly joined the Horde, as it was becoming too dangerous for her to be active, what with all of Sylvanas’s nonsense. Dranka took over all of her Speaker of the Horde roles (until it was later passed to Zekhan as of Shadows Rising) whilst she rested in Karazhan, although she did briefly go to Saurfang’s funeral, and stayed waaaay away from all the N’Zoth stuff.

Zal’ria was born in the gap between BFA and Shadowlands, and Draggka pretty much just stayed home with Khadgar (and Medivh) looking after the young’n and was a non-entity during the whole expan. (Ingame she was still my main, though in lore I think I would let my Alliance mains take centre stage for a while.)

Zal would be...3 or 4 years old as of the time skip and Dragonflight’s start, so she’s either starting or close to starting whatever amounts to a school in WoW’s thing. So probably the convenient time for Draggka to return to the action, along with Khadgar. (It’s fine, Medivh’s in Karazhan, he can babysit...sort of.)

As much as I resent Activision-Blizzard’s upper management and the awful things that still disgorge from their fetid maws (fire Bobby Kotick, preferrably into the sun), I can’t deny longing to go back to Azeroth. I had a brief visit back to relieve the need some weeks ago, and I think I will eventually play Dragonflight in the future. Just...in time. The devs are making the right noises right now, I just need some more winning over.

As for retcons...as some of you may or may not be aware, I was writing Draggka and Khadgar’s story as very much intertwined with another friend of mine’s story of her character Camdyn Morris and their courtship of Varian Wrynn. As you can imagine, we broke the canon pretty hard to do so.

It’s with a heavy heart I have to admit I can no longer maintain the internal canon whilst hooking it to ingame canon as easily now. I could do it with enough time and plotting, but the effort to do so is now counterproductive.

So instead of retconning it altogether, I will leave it as a split branch of Draggka/Khadgar’s timeline. Their core story will adhere more to the main game story, although that’s not to say I’ve not meddled here and there - I will break the Shadowlands story over my knee rather than admit the Jailer was playing 60D chess with us all and have Sylvanas apparently unable to realize she was being played.

Speaking of splitting branches, the existance of Draggka and Khadgar’s 2nd child, Khara. She’s not appeared in their canon as of yet so the removal of her is painless, especially since I’ve really not had time to gift her with much of a personality (a curse of a lot of my characters, many in my account will head towards deletion due to it).

That’s not to say I won’t bring Khara back in another form - I like her name a lot, afterall. I just need to think on how. Perhaps an AU of Zal’ria? Rule nothing out, I have been one-manning lore for an entire Star Wars race of recent.

Wanted to get this out, and it’s nice to write a proper Tumblr post about fandom again. Felt the gears starting to move in a way I haven’t felt in years, and I hope with some tweaks and changes and time being made to write things, perhaps I can start creating again.
