Disclaimer 2.0: I may use the words "babes" a little bit much, sorry if someone is uncomfortable.

The tropes, babes, the tropes!

We aren't talking only about childhood friends to lovers or enemies/rivals to lovers. It's childhood friends to "It's complicated" to "we are going to fix this bc it's worth it" to lovers. The messy part, the complicated part is what makes them appealing because they end up fixing their problems. They have seen the others as their innocence, their worst and their best. /In this orden/ And knowing each other since they were kids is essential to their relationship because it is what gives them the ultimate reason to fix the messiness, as hard as it's, as scared as they are, the other two matter too much to each one to not do it.

On the other hand: they are soulmates. Like, canonically. There is a prophecy about the three of them coming to Amphibia, fix their problems and defeat evilness. The prophecy is about them, their relationship was written in the stars by fate. Unlike other soulmates it isn’t a question of unconditional forced romance but one which triumphs because of their decisions and desire (kinda out of topic? But this is one of the reasons why I’m 100% comfortable with the soulmate trope with them) /Also, they look so cute/

Tecnichally, they have been and are roommates! OH MY FROG! They are ropmmates

Reviving crying: Do you remember that scene in Tangled when Rapuzel cried over Eugene to keep him alive? Beautiful and romantic, right? (And emotionally devastating bc how dare them?) They have that here too! After being possessed by The Core, Marcy is unconscious (Sasha may think she has killed her? Maybe) Anne and Sasha put her body between them, crying while they say “Oh, Marcy. We love you” “And we forgive you. Please come back to us” and their tears awakened her.

Meet-cute: Marcy and Anne meet on the beach, the former was building a sand castle and when she was getting anxious about the sea “I was determined to protect your masterpiece from being washed away before it was finished. You were getting anxious, so I took you by the hand, looked you in the eyes, and promised -We would defend your castle till the bitter end!-” & “We lost your castle, sadly, but we’d found each other” (extracts from Marcy’s journal written by Anne) Sasha met them (they were around five?) when two teenagers throw Anne and Marcy from the swings making them cry- Sasha... did her best and the swings were returned to them. And when she was going to leave, Anne asked her if she wanted to play with them. Anne and Marcy choose Sasha that day and she chooses them every day after too, which leads to my next point…

They care so much for each other? They would do everything (...literally) for each other? Most of their mistakes come from love? The plot starts bc of Marcy's fear and love for them, bc she didn't want to lose them. (She hacked the universe for them, which is very romantic and gay if you ask me)

Also, tecnichally, they have been and are roomates. Oh my frog, they are roommates!

One of the points of their relationship is how, even if it's messy, even if it isn't pretty, even if it's toxic they love each other so much that they are going to make things better, for themselves as individuals and their relationship together. It's the kind of love that isn't unconditional in the "nothing matters" but in the "we can make this better, we are worth it" Love wasn'tenough to make it perfect, but it was to become.

i know gin/ran is like. hugely unpopular in the circles i run in, but giving us the flashback early on like this like...perhaps it’s hindsight but it feels p telegraphed. (in a sort of “he was a boy she was a girl” type way)

they didn’t put her in handcuffs...i wonder if tosen or gin had anything to do with that decision....

the a plot, b plot, and c plot are very well balanced here....imo...

speaking of ‘hugely unpopular’ people get on momo’s case a lot and i do find her devotion to aizen a little...idk strange? obviously he’s a master manipulator and he cultivated this persona of the gentle kind captain, and i can’t imagine how traumatic it would be to discover the dead body like that, but to believe without hesitation or even evidence beyond aizen’s word that it was hitsugaya who did it? otoh she doesn’t know she’s living in a fictional universe, and he was murdered (momo thinks) and did leave that letter for her...out of universe it seems kinda sus but in-universe she probably feels horrible that she couldn’t have done anything, that she accused the wrong guy, that she attacked kira and it was the supposed murderer who stopped them, that aizen might not have trusted her bc he knew she and hitsugaya were close...

man. sometimes i wish i could have read this in real time (tho ig i would have been too young/had even worse textual analysis skills than i do now) or found some way to not get spoiled and read it now. like my experiences reading other shonen that i’d only read a few parts of and remained relatively unspoiled for the rest (OP) or had no idea what i was getting into besides a few out of context yt clips (saiki)....unparalleled. but then again bleach was my gateway shonen bc of the free itunes download i got for ep1 of the anime (ha ha i am dating myself p exactly here) and bc a friend of a friend who i had a crush on (in retrospect) dressed up as rukia for halloween so....a series of coincidences led me here.

like i know hitsugaya was already insanely popular but....hyorinmaru....beautiful...when i look at the gorgeous ice dragon i kind of get it! (but like not to that degree)

i feel like i read an explainer on hitsugaya’s popularity somewhere that made sense to me, like he hits some specific 2000s jp cultural things...? even so that he’s the only chara besides ichigo to get a nendo, that he placed so well in the polls when we barely knew him...like, his hatedom in western fandom is kind of ridiculous (like, even if he’s getting lots of merch and your fave isn’t...he’s fairly innocuous in canon imo and he really doesn’t get that much focus?) but idk idk. like grimmjow is another character i feel this baffled neutrality towards, like he does some cool stuff but not in a way that stands out to me from the other cool stuff that other charas do? so why him, esp in western fandom? (tbh i am looking forward to when he shows up bc perhaps i will Get It this time...and also bc ulquiorra and szayel will show up too) but ANWYAY back to hitsugaya like i do feel like i have a better grip on him rn than i did before? i had kinda written him off as “there’s no way i’ll Get It abt him” bc i tend to get annoyed by the child prodigy type characters at best (tho i did end up liking miya in sk8) and yknow. cultural differences that wouldn’t lead to me becoming attached to him in the way that jp fans my age are.

yoruichi continues to just like...take things at face value or make odd assumptions. idk how to phrase it? like she was surprised ichigo would just act on impulse and attack...and she took urahara at his word that ‘everything will be fine~’ (which is true bc ichigo is ichigo but....this is also URAHARA)

That epigraph....has a very one piece type of feel to it, how charas are always going on about the flow of time and whatnot...who was it in loguetown that was talking about how the flow of time can’t be stopped/reversed? that would have been ‘99 probably, so a good few years before this (2005ish?) but...i wonder if there was some sort of turn-of-the-century focus on that in jp, or if it was a stock shonen thing at the time, the nuances of which are lost on me /shrugs away

again they are telegraphing gin/ran here! i don’t even ship it but.....bruh

yknow, it really struck me how much kaien *does* look like ichigo...a lot of times there’s informed resemblance or ‘only 6 faces’ syndrome in visual canons but...kubo just drew ichigo with dark hair in a different outfit

ahh kaien is a lot like isshin too...and kuukaku...interesting that none of the kurosaki kids has that sort of Loud Optimism...ichigo and karin are so grumpy, and yuzu is less so but she’s fairly quiet....maybe it’s because they’re hormonal adolescents

yknow most zanpakutou spirits stay relatively static over the years but yachiru grows up a bit...obvi no one is aware she is a sword but also perhaps it represents ken-chan’s spiritual growth? he goes from being just raw power, a toddler, to bit-by-bit gaining control and awareness.

interesting how the 11th division is basically used as a training ground bc there’s such a chokepoint at the top...once you’re good at fighting/have exhausted your blood knightness to some degree, you get kicked upstairs (like renji/iba both)

Hello! Again i am using this one form of reply bc its easier for format! If you prefer i change for reply format it let me know!. Putting under read more bc this got long, but i had lots of fun doing it!. I am answering all your replies here!

M!Corrin-wise - I dont think Omega Yato will be his weapon, because the refined version of his OG version (normal M!Corrin in the red pool) already has it. While his art has his normal weapon, his sprite has Omega Yato.

Dawn Yato is definitely a possibility tho! although it would be very odd to give it to him and not make its Twin/Mirror Weapon Dusk Yato to CQ!themed!L!F!Corrin.(but hey its IS)

(something i am so salty off bc i love Dawn and Dusk Yatos ;-; they are so pretty and match so well their promotions... and games... heck!! they both have their route-represent Legendary weapons features incorpored on them and just *clenches fist at the emotional moments*)

Also, A re-colored dragon alt is also a possibility, since L!F!Corn did that.

I dont think skipping the Staff is a certainty because IS has made weird choices before. Leif has an Bow which is a weird choice for him, but, like Corrin, he has a A Rank in bows in his promoted class, and like Corrin he is an “unpopular” Lord. Chrom and Lucina have Bows, when they also had Lances as options by promotion class.

I dont think popularity certainly incentivizes diversity in weapon usage. because we have had a lot of Weird choices from IS of making a popular character have the same weapon across multiple alts. -> 3H lords, Ike, Eirika and Ephraim had all a repeat of their OG weapons and are far more or just as popular as Micaiah; and even weirder L!F!Corrin, who by CYL and Nintendo magazine poll is more popular then M!Corrin, has the same weapon type than her fallen version (and still lacks a red alt for her emblem AND had an iconic red weapon associated with her promotion of DarkBlood/Nohr Noble (Dusk Yato)). Also fun fact, F!Corrin counterpart to M!Corrin Staff Rank is a Tome Rank. So it would also be possible for her to have had an red tome alt.

conclusion regarding weapons: IS pretty much spins a Wheel and decides what to do. I think its pretty much a case of...whatever the executives woke up on that day wanting.

(that, of course, doesnt make theorizing what weapon they will have any less fun xD)

Honestly the only reason why I am certain it is Micaiah is irrational/a F2P technique. In that if it is not her, it will destroy my will to summon and thus allow me to spend less XD. I have seen people doing it and boy does it works wonders when you arent right.

Going by that (my theory it is Micaiah) I find it unlikely to be Colorless (and thus Staff or colorless tome) only because the other spreads are just That Good^tm.

One of the methods that people used to guess which color the new Leg/Mythic will be is to see which color has a busted spread of colors. And it has been right ever since Edelgard

(The reason for so is that IS seems to have realized that by debutting the hero on a so-so spread, it made people wait for their rerun in order to get them, Bramimond being an example in that his spread was awful (L!Grima) and his rerun spread was godsmacking good (Mila)... pun not intended)

The colorless this time is rather...i wouldnt say weak, because Eir usability is REALLy good and Duma has a nice niche of wrecking people plans(cackles in my AR matches). However, they are fairly outdated in comparation with the other color spreads. So, in the event this leg hero is Micaiah (or Elincia, or Byleth) i dont think they would be colorless because of that.

Oh! Regarding the CYL theory, since the legendaries were introduced in the second year of FEH, I dont consider much broken, since i merely think its always /A/ winner instead of the 1st of each year. Since shuffling of legendaries is possible, (those times when IS changed the calendar lineup), should the Byleths win CYL(which is fairly likely). it would be easy to put them on the next GW. And I also think it will be a theory that will be broken absolutely next year, since I doubt Marianne and Gatekeeper would be viable L!Heroes. I agree with you that is a weak pattern that is likely to be broken.

Counterpoint to Wind F!Byleth -> Blessings not always end up being the element that is most associated with the Character in the main game. Highly Water themed (and midly Fire themed;) Corrin ended up as Wind; Julia, who has Minor blood of fire and was called “Genealogy’s Fire Emblem sword” was Earth; Eliwood, wielding the fire themed Durandal, was Wind. (tbf this is also a counterpoint to Wind Micaiah, since she has more association with Light and maybe Fire(?) than Wind)

Regarding 3H launching with 3H, besides Edelgard, Claude also debuted with no 3H legendary accompanying him. Annete was there, but other than that, no other 3H unit or legendary was on the banner. In fact, the pattern i do see with 3H legendaries is that their first re-run matches with a release of a Mythic in their color spread. (Edelgard -> Hel ; Dimitri -> Seiros).

I want to highlight that i am not saying it wont happen, but that I lean more towards they keeping a space between 3H legendaries release, in order to long term profits, and to not cause burn-out of 3H content. (or at least decrease people complaining about it; They seem to have learned their lesson with the Fates and Tellius spams.)

Finally,I do think that it is possible for Micaiah to be a Staff and for other characters to be released in this month/banner, mostly it is the premises i chose to apply to this theorizing lead me in a contrary direction xD. You show some good points! (I would love a Dawn Yato Corn and a Staff Micaiah ;-;...)

Extra Tangent: I have absolutely no idea what IS(executives) considers the character is associated with Silver Snow like...

For one side, Seteth makes lip service saying the route lord is Rhea; Rhea presents the choice mirror to Edelgard’s in the route split; the ending cutscene focuses on Rhea character development/closure, but, at the same time, she is Sir Not Appearing for 75% of the route and the rest of the time she is benched.

For another side, Byleth was made to be the lord to Edelgard emperor’s and her rival; has several cutscenes showcasing that; is the “lord” of the route in role sense, but, on the other hand, its more associated with Fire (fire emblem).

Honestly at this point i just dont know what FEH is going to do with them. I think IS is going to make one of Byleth Wind as you said and the other Fire, but which one, i have no idea. I could see too an argument for Ground(since i think at the lack of an Light element for Light element character-focused they pick ground sometimes) too, but yeah.

I cant believe the true plot twist of GW is gonna be Rhea being the wind legendary breaking all of our theories xD (/j, but can you imagine how funny it would be?)
