one of the things I desperately love about Mo-Doek and Jang Uk’s relationship in Alchemy of Souls is that they repeatedly, without fail, choose each other. From the very beginning they are all in and even when it would be easier to give up or to align themselves with other people they say “lol, absolutely not, you’re not my Mo-Doek/Uk.” and I think part of is that they choose each other when both of them were never chosen by the world at large. like Uk has been rejected his whole life because his shit for brains father sealed his gate of energy, but in Mo-Doek he found someone who was willing to go “I’m willing to endure torture, possible dismemberment and death, to help you achieve this goal” and with Mo-Doek who has been used as a weapon and a tool all her life suddenly she has Uk who goes “I see you as a whole person deserving of care and respect.” anyway, I love them both a lot

The thing with Naksu's idiocy is that her expertise is not acting as an investigative agency.

She is an assassin. Her Intel is provided by a whole network and she recieves the target

The whole brouhua about Naksu|Mu Doek being ooc when she's not worked whose body she's in or even that she's doing a poor job of hiding needs context. She has little intel to go off on. We forget that she's basically lived in isolation since she was 6-7 years old. She probably knows that the older Jin daughter disappeared under mysterious circumstances but not who was on the boat with her. Or that she was retrieving the ice stone.

Even if you are a whiz at surgery you won't be a whiz at computers. And that's exactly how Naksu was written.

Her behaviour of hiding in the open is out of necessity. She needs Jang Wook because he's got access to Jin Mu's fortress and the mage stronghold. That doesn't mean she's stupid - she's reckless.

Her world turned upside down when she realises that she's been disposed of.

And it's not like she's going to react normally. She's not normal
