i think i was so real for writing the lyric “oh you break my heart, i pretend it’s just a pinch, you leaving hit hard - how could i not flinch?” … i think just summarises the modern crisis of being a lover girl in a sea of detached people. we pretend to be nonchalant and unaffected by heartbreak to protect ourselves but the truth is, when you feel as deeply as us, your emotions are really going to emote… so eventually we embrace the pain, but then because of the depth of the emotional scars, the next time we stumble into a new romantic situation, we’re even more skeptical and reluctant to open ourselves up to the possibility experiencing love, because … last time it HIT HARD so why would i not FLINCH now you know?? 😭
