So sometimes you'll hear a little alert when you log in or get out of a duty, or look up at your system info and see a little mail icon and go "huh. I wonder." Or you bought something on the online store and aren't sure how it'll get to you. good news, I got you.

Mail Time

So when you have mail- which can be from other players, the online store, pre-order bonuses, etc - you get a little letter icon with a number next to it showing how many letters.

I promise this is a new alt not 100+ USD spent at the store

if you buy a mount in the online store that's listed as "account wide" you get those deliveries upon creation of a new character. Ditto any pre-order or special edition bonuses for expansions you've purchased, if eligible and all that. The inbox holds 20 letters max, new or not, empty or not. So it's best to delete them once you retrieve their contents just so things don't accidentally build up over time.

You access your mail via these little guys

In the starter cities they're located: Uldah: Ruby Road Exchange (nearest aethernet: Adventurer's guild) Limsa Lominsa: The Aftcastle (nearest aethernet: The Aftcastle) Gridania: Mih Ketto's Amphitheater (nearest aethernet: the Amphitheater)

You can also find them in many if not most sanctuaries out in the field shown by a little letter on your map.

At work thinking about the WoL taking trips back and forth between the Source and the First just to be the messenger for Thancred and Ryne. I think they'd have a little exchange journal they'd write in to keep each other updated on how they're doing, with Thancred sending the WoL along with gifts Alisaie and Y'shtola helped him choose, and Ryne pressing flowers between the pages and leaving little drawings in blank spaces. I think Thancred's entries would be short and sweet, and he'd struggle on what to write about because he's not good with this whole writing-about-his-thoughts-and-feelings thing, but Ryne would see between the lines and know exactly what he's trying to say. I think Ryne would fill entire pages with what she's learned about the First and how much progress everyone is making. Thancred would always tell the WoL to tell Ryne how proud he is of her, and Ryne would always ask the WoL to make sure Thancred is taking care of himself. I just think that even when they're literally in two different worlds Thancred would try to be the best dad he possibly can to Ryne and I'm obsessed with the WoL going out of their way to make that happen.

My dancer quest took me to Ishgard…

Aymeric did not make an appearance and I refuse to believe that he willingly didn’t come out to see me, his mew mew blorbo, dance.

On a separate note, Ranaa was rushing to Ishgard from Gridinia in her full dancer gear and I was like “hold it girl you need clothes! It be snowing….. oh she’s gone.”

And not the NPC pointing it out.

🌸 [CHERRY BLOSSOM] Does your OC (+ self-insert) believe in legends/myths? - I would say that Tsutsuji probably doesn’t believe in most of what she hears, but at the same time would be fine about being proven wrong if there was sufficient evidence; she’s sort of the opposite of Clio in that regard, because Clio assumes things to be true unless proven otherwise whereas Tsutsuji assumes things to be false unless proven otherwise. She also doesn't really dismiss things purely because she thinks they aren't true if she also thinks they sound interesting enough - she isn't going to think there's actually some horrifying monster in that cave (or whatever the given legend is), but she is going to raise her eyebrows and storm in anyway, just out of curiosity as to what actually resulted in that legend becoming a thing. I hope that that makes sense!

As for Lorenza, I think she might also find it difficult to believe a lot of legends or myths that she hears, but for the reason that - being relatively unfamiliar with the Source - she doesn't always have a decent sphere of reference that would enable her to envision what's being talked about, and not being able to do this makes it more difficult to think of what she hears as true. She is also naturally somewhat more on the sceptical/not-innately-trusting-of-others side, which might also contribute to her not automatically taking myths and legends at face value.

🌻 [SUNFLOWER] Where would your OC (+ self-insert) get lost in the moment/beauty of the place? - It’s very difficult to catch Tsutsuji being awe-struck by something, as she keeps a very close grip on her composure (not that she often comes across as being composed in the typical serious or stiff way, though). For her to actually be lost for words would really take an astonishing sight, but I think something like the Great Gubal Library might do it - though not perhaps for reasons of conventional aesthetic beauty. So much potential for all sorts of incredible secrets and knowledge that hasn’t been accessed for ages.. She’d have a whale of a time thinking of ways to make use of everything that’s written in there!

As for Lorenza, I actually think a lot of areas would have this effect on her, simply because they’re so different to the world she knew before reaching the Source. Somewhere like the crystalline terrain of Mor Dhona for how uniquely its environment stands out, or a quiet and foggy afternoon in Ul’dah where there are people on the streets but it’s not super bustling and busy, and everyone has their objectives but they’re at peace and not rushing about or stressed by everything that was once going on. Those are the kinds of moments she could find herself really appreciating and taking in much moreso than she would ever have expected to.
