I watched 'Death of Stalin' and I loved it.
Listen to me, it could've been a serious movie about the power fights of the people under Stalin, but instead we got peak political comedy featuring Jason Isaacs in a military uniform with some really good one-liners.

Death of Stalin - Review
Tumblr media
I've seen this film a couple of times and everytime I forget how much I really like it. It's a great satire that reminds me of The Thick Of It (which if you haven't seen I'd highly recommend it). It shows a side of history that many people are probably unaware of and does it in a way that shows how absurd everything that happened was.
The best part about this film is the absurdist comedy and also Jason Issac's character introduction. Again Andrea Riseborough is amazing in this film (me and my friends watched this as part of Andreathon along with Possessor and Mandy).
All I have to say is positive things so if you're looking for a good absurdist comedy to watch I'd strongly recommend this one.

My favorite detail in Red Monarch is the scene at the end where Khrushchev stands back and watches Beria as he strangled Stalin because it is so similar to a scene in Death of Stalin that it couldn’t be a coincidence.

Nikita Khrushchev from The Death of Stalin is pure! (This is in reference to the character from the movie, not necessarily the real world person)
