Just when the two groups try to discuss about the fate of the universe and Mutantkind in the Space Bad Future AU, they get attacked by none other than Orbis Stellaris and his Phalanx army. Since Prodigy is screaming in pain from absorbing more information, the formerly-dead X-Men are in the middle of the crossfire. Fortunately, the other allies have turned up to help Abigail's X-Men and the Formerly-Dead X-Men. These allies are the new AU Starjammers who consist of Sunspot, Juggernaut, Lockheed, Hepzibah, Mercury, Carol Danvers and the new Smasher who is the son of Cannonball and Izzy Kane. While the mutants fight off the Phalanx, the M'kraan Crystal shatters and the shard embeds itself on Prodigy's chest. Geez...This guy is too unlucky.... Then, the Formerly-Dead X-Men are approached by a mysterious figure. Cannonball takes down the mysterious figure who turns to be...Moira MacTaggert. AU Moira is a cyborg and she's a spiteful woman. Prodigy immediately absorbs everything from her mind saying he got it, a full map of Moira's past, all of it, as Dazzler helps him to his feet. "And not just her tenth life… we can go anywhere. Anywhere. We could stop the Dominion before it's born." They run and jump into a newly opened portal, leaving the timeline.

Covers for the upcoming “Dead X-Men”; while I am definitely happy to see Prodigy back…I’m just kind of over X-books right now truthfully.

I have a ton of titles in my comixology - but I just haven’t bothered to read them; I am just kind of sick of lackluster writing and feeling like the best I can hope for is Prodigy getting killed off and brought back for “tension”…Rockslide lobotomized…or Laura’s character development being dating Synch.

Spoilers about Dead X-Men #3 (2024)

The decision to apparently make BETSY BRADDOCK!Psylocke Scott’s wife in this timeline/dimension is interesting.

I say this even though he and she did have chemistry that Marvel backed out of for some reason (only to give it to Emma Frost), I’m pretty sure that after he and Jean make up, Betsy herself mentioned that the only reason she was attracted to him in the first place could have been because the OTHER GIRL’S BODY was sending signals to her brain whenever she saw and interacted with Cyclops and messed with her normal thinking.

Aka, Kwannon.

Which tells me that KWANNON’s body was the one experiencing attraction to Cyclops.

While if Cyclops ever met Psylocke before the body switch (can’t recall if he did), it is KWANNON’s form to which he is attracted.

Nothing against Betsy!Psylocke x Scott of course (Multiverse = Multi-potential pairings/ships), but I would have been interested in seeing how an au with Kwannon exploring a relationship with Cyclops after regaining her body could work.

Simon has always been confused on why you gift him toys. Sure, most of the gifts you gave him were some of the things he liked. Bourbon, masks, gloves, make up for him to smudge his eyes with, some daggers and knives. Things that we're useful for him, just him. But later, you gifted him a toy airplane. He makes a comment about it, saying he is not a child anymore and you were better off giving it to Johnny instead.

"No, this is specifically for you, take it."

When he gets to him room, he walks toward his trash can, opening it with the tip of his boot. He gives one more look at the toy, his mood souring before throwing it into the trash. He goes on about his day, training, signing paper work, drills. Doing anything to ignore the pain stinging memories that the toy brought back. Emotions that were buried thousands of feet deep it could reach hell itself. Later, he lies awake in bed, staring at the ceiling, avoiding looking at the cylinder shape that's calling for him in his peripheral.

Fuck.

He pulls the covers off vigorously and stomps over to the trash can. He is standing over it like he's trying to intimidate it, as if it was an enemy he's trying to get rid of in battle. To anyone else, the scene would look comical.

He sighs to himself and reaches down to take out the toy he so cruelly threw away. He sets it on his desk and quickly walks toward his bed, facing away from his desk.

The next day, he wakes up feeling different. He swears he sees his room more vibrant, more lively. That energy follows him through out the day, having his other teammates notice his rather bright mood.

You catch him in the hallway. Pulling him aside to ask him about the paper work you left at his desk this morning. Of course, he notices the way you smile brightly, more so than usual. But he notices that you're not looking at him. More like looking at something next to him.

"What's got you so cheery?"

You turn to look up at him, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"I just..." You take a quick glance at the spot next to him, before bringing your eyes back upon his.

"I just hope you liked your gift." The same bright smile appearing on your face.

He stares at you, examining your words. Your expression.

You think you see his eyes crinkle a bit.

"Yea,"

"I liked it."
