Ghoap x reader zombie apocalypse AU? 👀 just gonna leave that here...

Ooh anon you got me with this. Thought about it all night. A full fic of this dynamic in an apocalypse setting would be so good. Sadly, I don't have it in me to write an entire fic for this but I scratched it out as a dead disco au down below on my phone (I took bits and pieces of zombie media and smashed them together as I like):

18+ MDNI / angst, death

It was an accident.

All you had wanted to do was try to find some mushrooms. You knew this part of the woods usually had a fair amount to forage, and you were pretty good at distinguishing the good ones from the not so good ones. You hadn't meant to get distracted.

You knelt down to the forest floor, picking at a piece of bark on a downed log when you heard the rustling, the suspect sound of something moving through the brush near you.

You expected one of the slow ones. The ones that usually found themselves this far from the city, wandering aimlessly, looking for the next meal. Decaying and rotting flesh hanging from their limbs, a sign they had been long infected, the decomposition marking them as something easily escapable.

You did not expect a runner.

You screamed- a huge no no, as Simon had been drilling into your head- when you saw it, far too late, tripping over yourself to try to get away, your hunting knife pressed into the palm of your hand.

You stood little chance against a runner. They were fresh, muscles still intact, lactic acid burning through their bodies, movements fast and sharp, able to take down an entire human in one fell swoop. They even looked like you, still holding their pallor, their posture, their fine motor skills.

Only their minds were gone. Addled by the infection, brains turned to hot mush inside their skulls.

They had one objective.

Eat.

You managed to clear the log, sprinting as fast as you possibly could, trying to take long, deep breaths through your nose just as Johnny taught you.

"More oxygen that way, love. It'll help your endurance, keep you runnin' longer."

They were always doing that now, equipping you for survival. Trying to train you like a solider, teaching you the finer points they thought you should know.

"We're gonna make it, together." Simon had said, the morning they showed up in the middle being away for work, clad in full tactical gear, guns in hand. "As a family."

"Ye have to listen to everything we say, alright darling? Everything's goin' to be okay." Johnny promised at the same time as you tried to pack some essentials into your backpack with trembling fingers.

They were obsessed with trying to instill as much of their knowledge into as possible, trying to prepare you, help you, listing off rules they thought were key, ensuring you knew to follow them.

One being: don't get distracted.

You curse yourself, feet flying underneath your body and heart thrumming in your chest with panic. You're too slow, and you can hear it behind you, sprinting just as fast as you are, preparing to launch and take down it's next meal.

You don't see the snare of brambles until you're in them, nearly slamming to a stop, thorns scratching against your skin as you fight against the thicket. It's too dense, slowing your ability to get away... and the runner is still hot on your heels, working its way through the mess, snapping its jaw like a shark.

Simon comes out of nowhere. One second you're hacking away at the branches and the next, there's a massive, solid warmth at your back, standing between you and the snarling monster. He's facing away from you, brandishing a knife, engaged in a full fight with the runner, taking it to the ground in an attempt to get the blade into its temple. You watch mouth wide, frozen, holding your breath until the job is done, and Simon is hauling himself upwards, pulling you into his arms before stepping back to look you over.

You burst into tears. You've always told them, you're not for this kind of world. You're too gentle, too sensitive. You're a painter, for fucks sake. Not a killer. You're too soft to survive.

They say it doesn't matter. That you can be as soft as you want, because you have them, and they'll be the killers. They'll be the hard ones.

"Did it get you? Let me see, c'mon-" He checks your arms, your neck, the tear on your shirt but finds nothing. "Alright, you're alright." He's telling you, and himself, relief exhaling from his body with each syllable. "You're alright, darling. I've got ya. Come here." He holds you tight, rubbing your back, kissing your cheek, your forehead until you're calm, breathing deeply and wiping your face.

You believe the worst has passed, until you blink up at him, and see the blood on his neck.

The bite.

"We need to make a plan."

"We're nae makin' a bloody plan." Johnny hisses, and Simon closes his eyes like he's tired. "We keep goin'. We'll make it to the rendezvous with Price and they'll have a solution. We dinnae even know how fast it spreads."

Simon lets loose a sigh, heavy with exhaustion. With the toll that this life has become. With the weight, of everything. He tucks you into his body, wrapping his other arm around Johnny, and holds the two of you close. Tightly. Tighter than he ever has before.

"Alright."

The next morning, everything is different.

You woke up last, fire still barely smoldering, little energy bar on the ground next to you. The guys sleeping bags were already rolled up, stacked neatly with Simon's pack, and the long gun that Johnny carries.

But they were nowhere to be found.

Confused, you slid free, stretching with a silent groan, scanning your surroundings until you spot them on the edge of the woods, locked together on their feet, Johnny's face mashed against Simon's neck, strong arms holding him close.

"What's going on?" The question comes out confused when you get close, and Johnny pulls away with wet eyes, hands shaking. What's happening? Why are they both crying? Fear screams through your body, red alert systems firing up as your brain struggles to put all the pieces together.

"Simon-" Johnny begins, but stops abruptly, eyes slamming shut, lips pressed together in agony.

"'m not feelin' too well." Simon explains gently. "You and Johnny are gon’ start on ahead, and 'm gonna stay here for a while." Something, something logical, something smart, is shouting at you from the back of your mind but you shove it away, opting for delusion instead.

"Okay, you're going to catch up though, right? You said. We'll find-" You frowned, looking from him to Johnny as a sick feeling grew in your stomach. "Johnny?"

“Look at me.” Simon combs through your hair with trembling fingers, unsteady for the first time in your entire existence. “I love you, darling. I love you so, so much.”

“S-stop, we're supposed to stay together, you- you said-“

“You have to go with Johnny now, okay? He’s gonna take care of you.” He jerks you forward, closed mouth pressing against your forehead. "I love you."

“No, Si.” You sob, fingers curled in his vest. “You have to come with us. You have to, we’ll fi-find a cure, they’ll be help, somewhere.”

“Johnny.” He chokes, and a strong arm wraps around your waist, Johnny’s heavy, tearful breathing echoing just above your ear. Someone works your fingers free, pulling your hand away but not letting go, holding onto you like a lifeline.

You look up between him, to his face, to Simon’s and realize. They’ve already said goodbye.

Simon strokes the back of his fingers down Johnny’s cheek, tears dripping down his own.

“I love you both, more than anything. More than life.” He squeezes your hand, rubbing a thumb over the back of your knuckles, and then steps away, pulling the handgun from the holster on his thigh. "Take care of each other."

"NO!" you scream, but Johnny is dragging you backwards like a rag doll, away from where Simon stands in clearing, gaze never breaking from the two of you, face wet with tears. "Johnny!"

"Darling-" he chokes out amidst a sob. "Shhh, please. Please." He begs you to be quiet, to hush, but you can't, you can't stop screaming, or fighting him, trying to get back to Simon, to reunite your family, to stay together. You scream and scream until Johnny’s hand claps over your mouth, his own words clogged by his cries, pleading and begging until he's cutting off your oxygen with a desperate apology and lifting you over his shoulder like dead weight.

The last thing you hear before you lose consciousness is the sound of a gunshot.

Oh, absolutely!

The first that comes to mind - for the AUs I’d want to write - is @sunshine-and-moonshine Alpha!141 x Delta!reader, it has so much potential and it’s really good despite it being short ideas.

There’s also @ohbo-ohno and @ceilidho’s works on Ghoap x reader, the whole puppy play and obsession is just so delicious! I, personally, don’t think I’d be able to write the same dynamic as well as them, but I love reading about it.

As you probably know, @konigsblog, or Orla, has salivating AUs and ideas that you should absolutely check if you haven’t, especially her König and Soap stuff, it’s so amazingly filthy. I am a slut for it.

You have @sweet-as-an-angel for the DARK CONTENT like Zombie!141 or Yandere fics (there’s a lot to read and you could spend your whole day on the blog) and @tacticalanklebiter3000 simply for how crazy and funny her stories are, I would definitely recommend her thoughts and quick drabbles about hybrid or werewolf AU.

@cobwebs-in-autumn has a lot of prompts that they haven’t expanded on - as in long ass stories - but are worth the read. I even got their permission to write on one of their prompt! (Stalker!reader x Soap is lingering on my mind and won’t leave)

@gremlingottoosilly has a lot of juicy stuff, especially her Monster!König or Your Ride Will be Here Shortly, it’s a poly!141 x fem!reader.

Ah, sweet, sweet @auspicioustidings has a lot of hidden works(check her AO3, that’s where you find her hidden treasures, I’m looking at you Mhairi👀) with Ghoap x reader or them separately.

@halcyone-of-the-sea writes long stories, but they’re worth the time, varying between 3k to 15k, she recently reached 8k followers so she has an event open that I’m excited to read! I, however, am in love with Ravishing Allure, a Nikto x fem!reader soulmate AU.

If you want some good Angst, I’d recommend @peachesofteal, especially Dead Disco, a beautiful piece of Angst with enough of Fluff to make sure your heart doesn’t shatter.

@ghouljams writes a lot of AUs, like, a lot, and they’re all increasingly written and explored. Some might be short and others medium length, but they are really good.

And on the topic of drabbles and short pieces, there’s @frogchiro and her AUs, her hybrids, God of War!Ghost, or her Colonel König.

@charliemwrites is someone I recently followed and she gave me some intense brain rot with her Woof woof Johnny, Charmed Slasher GHost, childhood friend Simon and Rabid reader.

Finally there’s @placeinthemiddleofnowhere’s Reign Down on Me, it’s a handler!Ghost x wolf hybrid!reader. You should go check her out on tumblr or AO3, I enjoyed reading it.

These are all that I have on the top of my mind at the moment, there are a lot more talented writers that I haven’t named or found, but here are my subjections! I’m open to other stuff, if you have other suggestions, the more the merrier in writing, no?

Hi! I really love Ali's disco suit (the white jumpsuit with her blue eyepaint) and I can't get enough of it. Could you please recommend some issues or series that feature the disco suit prominently? Not all of them, anything that comes off the top of your head. Thank you :))

For starters- I know there's her solo series, Wolverine: First Class, Marvel's Voices: Pride and the X-Terminators.

She wears it pretty much the entire issue of her oneshot from the Necrosha era. She also wore it in issue one of New Excalibur. It's AU but she wore it throughout A-Force V1. She wore it in Deadpool #67 and I I know she did a series with him where they fought vampires. That is more recent, but I can't recall the issue numbers. There is also Marvel Zombies where she teamed up with Ash Williams from Evil Dead. Oh, and there is Iron Age as well! That's pretty much all I can think of right now.

😊 Murder at the Island Hotel (Miss Underhay Mystery #15) (Helena Dixon, author; Karen Cass, narrator) - Kitty & Alice go to an island hotel to certify it for the local hotel owners assn & of course murder happens.

😍 Operation: Gros Michel (SquadOfCats) - 358K, stucky recovery fic - incredible, phenomenal fic - really digging in to trauma & recovery but in a way that doesn't feel too heavy/dark for very long - Steve's POV so we see his healing & recovery, and his finding purpose again. Amazing OCs. Plus a lot of really, really yummy sexy times. Reminds you that hope is an action, hope is hard, and hope has many manifestations of being. also makes you love Florida at least a little bit.

😊 Where The Inevitable Isn't (Survivah) - 41K, sterek, alternate dimension AU - enjoyable dimension hopping fic with Stiles Prime portaling to a more dystopic/gritty dimension where he & D are super together. I really liked the aspect that they could ping pong back & forth between dimensions, it wasn't just a one-time thing

Punch Out Halloween Headcanons

In the spirit of Halloween, here are some headcanons for what the Punch Out characters would do during this spooky season. This sort of ties into my mansion AU where they all live together in a mansion but that’s the only context you need to understand this.

Glass Joe

-Isn’t the biggest fan of candy.

-Bakes/cooks his own Halloween sweets, like cookies and cupcakes that he loves decorating.

-Favourite halloween food is candy apples.

-Doesn’t like horror movies.

-Goes through haunted houses with the others and squeals at the jumpscares.

-Makes his own costumes. They’re all incredibly silly but he tries to be scary. Nobody has the heart to tell him he isn’t.

-Really likes pocky, which Hondo introduced to him.

Von Kaiser

-Screams while giving out candy and throws them at the kids

-Doesn’t dress up.

-Helps Glass Joe decorate cookies and cupcakes.

-Watches horror movies and goes to haunted houses to prove he isn’t a coward. Ends up clinging to someone the whole time.

-Tries to go easy on the candy.

-Favourite candy is Reese’s

Disco Kid

-Dresses as musical characters or musicians. Has gone as Michael Jackson multiple times.

-Listens and dances to Thriller all the time.

-Calls October the “Spookay Season,”

-Lies about his age to go trick or treating “One is never too old for free candy!” “I’m a Disco Kid!”

-Goes to haunted houses and parties as well.

-Gets scared watching scary movies.

-Favourite candy is Starburst.

-Absolutely splurges on the candy.

King Hippo

-Eats all of the candy.

-Would try to eat it all before Halloween if it was bought pre-emptively.

-Sits at home and eats the candy.

-Is confused when the others watch horror movies.

Piston Hondo

-Gives out traditional japanese candies to trick or treaters and introduced these candies to the others.

-His favourite candy is Apollo. (A Japanese candy.)

-Still tries to eat somewhat healthy on Halloween, going easy on the candy and eating regular meals.

-Isn’t the biggest fan of American candy. “It has too much sugar.”

-Drives the others to and from parties if they need him to, but doesn’t attend himself.

-If he wears a costume at all, I could see him going as a samurai.

Bear Hugger

-Would 100% dress as a bear and you can’t convince me otherwise.

-Also splurges on candy.

-Favourite is Mike n’ Ikes.

-Watches horror movies with the others just to spend time with them.

-Loves going to parties too.

-Likes bobbing for apples.

-Gets the others to carve pumpkins with him and decorate the front of the mansion with them.

Great Tiger

-He would either be a cat or a tiger for Halloween. Either way, it’s a pretty minimalist costume.

-Each of his clones have the costume too.

-Didn’t really know what Halloween was until living in America so he just sort of goes along with what the others are doing.

-Helps the others put up decorations super high.

-Teleports away if something startles him in a haunted house. The others have trouble finding him after.

-Favourite candy is Sour Patch Kids. Would also love anything remotely spicy.

-Definitely pulls some pranks with his magic. “It’s trick or treat after all.”

-Is mostly pretty chill at the parties.

-Goes with Don Flamenco and Disco Kid when the latter trick or treats just to look at all the weird decorations (and low-key to spend time with his friends.)

Don Flamenco

-Gets super excited about putting up extravagant decorations all around the mansion and seeing all the fabulous costumes.

-Great Tiger often has to help him put the decorations in increasingly crazy places. (ie: the chandelier, the roof). Disco Kid also tries to help.

-Absolutely LOVES pocky and has definitely played the game with Carmen and maybe the others boxers at some point.

-Tries to pick a different costume every year. This year it’s a vampire.

-Goes to haunted houses with the others and is very dramatic when jumpscared. Is the same when watching horror movies.

-Brings the fruit punch to the party.

-Doesn’t have a favourite candy. Just eats all of them.

-He and Disco Kid play all of the Halloween themed songs on Just Dance and try to get Tiger involved too.

Aran Ryan

-PRANKS GALORE.

-Seriously, he’s always a prankster but he goes even more extreme on Halloween.

-Goes to multiple parties in one night, often stealing candy and wine from each.

-For some reason I like the idea of him dressing as a werewolf.

-Headbutts the water to bob for apples.

-Drinks a crap ton of alcohol as well. “It’s Halloween, I can splurge!”

-Brings alcohol to spike his punch with.

-Would definitely grief someone’s house with toilet paper.

-The most chill thing he will do is watch horror movies. In fact, he probably started that trend.

-Favourite candy is gummy worms. Probably also likes candy corn.

-Drags the others to corn mazes.

-Jumps in piles of leaves right after the others finish raking it. (Okay this one isn’t really Halloween themed but it’s something he would do.)

Soda Popinski

-He and Aran Ryan attend parties together, mixing every drink just to experiment.

-Will also help with his pranks.

-Also didn’t really know what Halloween was before America.

-Would go as a mummy. I don’t know why this came to mind, but I want it to be a thing.

-Loves any type of chocolate.

-Gives out cans of normal soda to trick or treaters. The kids love it.

-Bit of a scaredy cat when it comes to horror movies. Aran Ryan tries to awkwardly comfort him.

Aran: It’s just a dead person.

Soda: THAT IS THE PROBLEM, ARAN!

Bald Bull

-Doesn’t dress up.

-Questions the hell out of everything. (In broken english) “Why do you break the orange vegetables? What is this nonsense?!”

-Follows Bear Hugger around the whole night.

-Helps him carve pumpkins, even though it confuses him greatly.

-Viciously feasts on the candy. His favourite is Snickers.

-Bites lollipops/suckers into pieces, scaring the shit out of everyone.

-Is generally unfazed by the horror movies. If something does scare him, he will lash out at the screen.

-Tries to scare off trick or treaters.

SMM

-Would throw a party at his own mansion, inviting tons of people.

-Has the most over the top decorations, making Don super jealous.

-Tons of alcohol and candy.

-Aran and Soda grief his place and crash the party.

Mr. Sandman

-Wore a zombie costume on a dare from Disco Kid.

Fandoms: so many over the years, although my mainstays at the moment tend to be in the direction of history/the classics, the terror, the zombie game genre, and the magicians (unfortunately)

Two-shot: theoretically, the ‘gladiator matches are something that can be akin to a religious experience’ fic would have been a two shot, but it’s looking closer like it’ll end up being three chapters RIP

Most popular multichapter: I don’t think I’ve ever published and completed a multi fic chapter, but currently the ‘octavian is begging everyone to stop comparing this to an arranged marriage’ AU has been pretty fun to work on with input from some friends, and I’ll count ‘having a good time with friends’ as a metric for popularity.

Actual worst part of writing: turning the abstract concept in my mind into something kind of concrete to work with. my mind? loves the abstract! very fun for talking about with friends, absolute nightmare when you go to make an outline lmao

How you choose your titles: 9 times out of 10 it’s referencing some kind of text I was reading in between writing, or it’s a phrase that got stuck in my head and insists on being part of the story, regardless of whether or not it actually fits.

Do you outline: sometimes! stuff like the disco elysium inspired AU, not so much, the arranged marriage one: Very Much So

Best writing traits: I like to fuck around with spacing and tend to treat writing like it’s a visual medium in addition to being a textual medium!

Spicy tangential opinion: Not so much spicy, but I generally don’t tend to seek out fics/fiction around the subjects I’m currently writing about unless someone sends/recommends it to me, which is why I’ve been reading every single Steve/Bucky fic I book marked back in 2014 instead of any kind of related historical fiction :p

He has a couple of good friends, is doing okay in school and even though he has some issues with his Mother, life is pretty great. That is, until one day, when he overhears some of the professors talking about the well-known Anti-Mutant organization HSA and how they have already broken into two Mutant Academies and are heading their way. Frank and his friends have to stick their heads together and try to solve the mystery, and as if Frank didn't have enough to think about already, he finds himself falling for his friend's older brother, Gerard.

However, none of them could ever begin to expect the terrifying chain of events that come into play once they delve deeper into the unknown, questioning Frank’s very beliefs on what the world actually holds. A story of visions, sacrifices, over protective brothers and love all in the midst of the attempted destruction of the world. Patience Is A Virtue (You Might Be Good Looking, But You Can’t Sleep With Yourself Tonight) by eflorentino, 22k, NC-17. Frank Iero’s biggest hero is Gerard Way; the outspoken, obnoxious lead singer of the multi-platinum selling band My Chemical Romance. His world changes completely when he finds himself suddenly shoved into the limelight, playing sell-out shows every night and earning more than his usual $6 an hour. However, the infamously homophobic frontman isn’t what Frank expects, and after mixed signals and unsolved revelations he learns that, with Gerard Way, things are never simple.

It took me a while to work out that there was something wrong with Gerard, he kept it hidden well and, really, he didn’t even know something was wrong with him. To him it seemed like normal, everyday stuff. He never found any of his behaviour out of the ordinary. To him it was just reality.’ After Gerard's grandma passes away his behaviour becomes strange. He becomes less outgoing and more paranoid. As Frank tries to work out what’s going on with his friend/love interest, between school, learning psychology and dealing with the jocks, he doesn’t realise just how bad it is.

Parks and Recreation by vinvy, 35k+, PG-13. Gerard Way is an art school drop out with no prospects, student loans to pay off, and a dead end job. His mother works too hard and his little brother Mikey is keeping secrets. His boss runs shady contracts and smiles too much. It's nothing special and he tells himself that he'll learn to make peace with that- in the meantime he's got to carve out a living that doesn't involve artwork. Really, he's going to be okay. Then a crazy homeless kid comes along and screws up Gerard's Adventures in Normal Employment with his hippie magic and soulless eyes. Gerard can't shake the feeling that this guy "isn't quite right" but he's too busy fending off the freak accidents that are following him around to worry about that particular winged freak.

Empire Boys by noctecaelum, 30k, NC-17. In the city that never sleeps, it's tough to get your foot in the door. While Gabe Saporta may find it easy to blend into the socialite scene; Gerard Way spends his day blending eyeshadow at Bloomingdales. As newcomer Frank triumphs in Women's Lingerie, Gerard sparks a bitter rivalry in the vicinity of Lexington and 59th; but there's no use crying over spilt coffee because things are about to fire up. Alternative to this, and inspired by this, what if you had been in Simon's place? 18+ MDNI / angst, killing, zombies - dead disco au / this is a little fucked up but it's also cute-ish? Maybe?

They had only let you out of their sight for a few moments.

Your skill with the hunting knife had grown, considerably, impressing both of them, allowing them to relax bit by bit, taking comfort in knowing that if something were to happen, you'd have a fighting chance.

You hated how they hovered all the time, anyway.

"I can do things on my own, you know. Look for berries, mushrooms. I can contribute."

Johnny was more keen to let you wander during the day, to let you exercise some freedom. He didn't want you to feel like they were keeping you on a leash, even though Simon couldn't stand to let you get more than a few feet away, always trying to keep you crowded between him and Johnny, snuggled between a protective barrier, holding you close. Even during travel, he walked in front, Johnny walked behind, and you stayed in the middle, backpack hiked up on your hips, knife cinched in your belt.

At night, they tucked you between their bodies, just like at home, making sure your sleeping bag was zipped tight to ward off a chill... or a wandering set of teeth.

They needed to keep you safe. Protect you. They clung to it, your softness, your gentle spirit. This world was not made for you, but they would be damned if they let it take you away from them.

But they couldn't suffocate you. They both knew that. Johnny knew, you needed room to let your emotions breathe.

So, he didn't protest too much when you wanted to go forage for mushrooms. He made sure you had your knife, pressed his lips to your forehead and told you be careful, to stay close. Keep an eye out.

He wishes he had said no instead.

Johnny's blood turned to ice when he heard you scream. It rang out through the forest like a siren, both he and Simon taking off into a sprint towards you, crashing through the brush without caring how loud it was. You were crying, shouting, getting louder and louder until they came across where you were pinned beneath a runner, blade jammed into it's face, your body shaking beneath its weight.

"Shhh." He hushed your hysterical cries as Simon rolled the zombie away from you, both of them frantically checking you over for their worst fear.

A bite.

"Breathe, darling. Just breathe." Simon coached you, pulling up your shirt where it was torn to check your belly, big hand smoothing over your skin slowly, feeling for something, anything that would indicate you'd been infected. "We're here. Right here."

"M-my neck." You sobbed, and Johnny's stomach flipped, terror ricocheting through his bones, fingers tracing over the torn skin beneath your jaw.

"No." He croaked. "No- no, oh god no... please." You cried harder, reality sinking in, realization sharp across the three of them.

"It's alright, shhh." Simon soothed you, one of his hands clamping down on Johnny's shoulder. He was shaking, looking at Johnny with a command in his eyes.

Get it together. Stay calm. For her.

"It's not that deep, darling. Not that deep. Ye'll be alright." It was a lie, a bold faced one, but Simon nodded in encouragement, looking back down to you with a tense smile.

"Let's get you back to camp and cleaned up."

They held you that night through your cries, assuring you that everything was going to be alright, that you were going to be okay, that they would always take care of you. Love you. Forever. They clutched you to them tightly as your body temperature rose, and your crying subsided, eyes slipping shut with sleep even as they stayed awake, watching you with vigilance. Watching for any changes, waiting for it to begin.

By the morning, they had made a decision.

They would stay true to their vow to you, their promise. They would take care of you, would love you, protect you. They would keep you safe, keep you with them, for as long as they were alive.

This world wasn't sane anymore, why should they be?

The first few days were the hardest. You were still lucid, in some ways. Still knew who you were, still knew them. You would cry uncontrollably if they left your sight for a moment, the outbursts ensuring one of them was with you at all times, soothing you, keeping you calm. You couldn't speak to them, only able to slur a few words here and there, but they didn't need your words to understand you. They knew your moods, your base line, your needs. Time passed, and those things didn't change. Even as your mind slipped away, they still believed you recognized them. They felt as if you did know them.

And you did things that solidified that belief. You would scent them, sniffing them at night, pressing your nose into their skin, snorting against them like their smell pleased you. When they spoke to you, you would stare at them, like you were hanging on every word. If they separated, you would groan, staggering in their direction, confused, distressed about splitting up. You would whine like an animal if either of them got too far away during travel.

You let Johnny fix your hair, let them both wipe you clean with water from the river. You'd grunt and grumble if he tugged a little too tight, but you still responded to his soothing, letting him gentle you when you got too worked up.

"Shhh, darling. 's alright." He'd coo as he fixed the makeshift mask up over your jaw and mouth, securing it tight so that you couldn't bite either of them in their sleep.

At night, they zipped you into your sleeping bag, arms down by your sides so you couldn't crawl out, and then tucked you alongside of their bodies, snuggled between them just as they always did.

They still knew you. You still knew them.

And they knew you were hungry.

It was the one thing that Johnny did not want to do, was hunt for you. He opted to stay behind, let Simon procure your meals instead, waited for his return when he would fetch you and bring you to the woods, keeping your line long so that when you came across your food, you'd have enough of a lead you could easily eat without him getting too close.

Simon didn't mind hunting living people for you, bringing them back and tying them up so they would be an easy meal. He couldn't risk them harming you, after all.

They would cry and beg him to let them go, ask him why he was doing this- didn't they understand?

He had to take care of you.

They'd do anything for you. Besides, it was only for a little while, you'd be back to normal once they caught up to Price and started towards the secure site, where they were sure there would be a cure.

They'd fix you, they had no doubt. You would be okay, just as soon as they got there.

Price was gobsmacked. Kyle was staring at them like they lost their damn minds.

"Boys, you- you can't-"

"She cannae bite, captain." Johnny protested, motioning to where your mouth had been covered with a mask, something tough they had fashioned out of velcro and a piece of his tac vest. "She's harmless." His hand clenched around the rope that had been tied around your waist, looped around your wrists. Your head lolled on your neck for a moment, before snapping upwards, nose in the air.

You had become accustomed to their scents, but not Price or Kyle's, and your eyes gleamed with hunger.

"Bloody hell." Gaz whispered.

"She's not in there anymore, son. You've got a zombie on a leash!" He spat, incredulous.

He didn't understand. You were still in there, still their darling, still with them. You were just sick.

You groaned, and Kyle flinched, staring at you in horror, and disgust. Johnny moved instinctively to block you from sight, protecting you from their terrified eyes, body vibrating with tension.

Simon took his hand, giving a squeeze, and a long look.

If they wouldn't accept you, they'd just find a way on their own.

Any other languages aside from English people can contact you in?: I can read basic Japanese and German. I won’t be able to communicate well but I have like some understanding. (I’m just really bad at languages I’m sorry universe, i want to be good at them)

Favourite Riverdale characters and ships?: BUGHEAD! Jughead Jone is my son, I love that boy. But I’m also a big Archie girl you know? Like just in the ‘he is my big dumb son and he just needs to be protected at all costs.’ I’d probably kill for a Jarchie person.

Favourite moments from S1 & S2?: There are so many it makes it hard to choose from you know? But S1: the iconic “hey there, Juliet, nurse off duty” is just like…so cheesy and soft it makes it hard to not just be utterly in love with that big dork. S2: When Archie cuts Jughead’s chains in front of the building, and they have that shot where the chains are falling away and he looks just like a fucking mythical fallen angel. That moment is so powerful between the boys, but it’s also just such a beautiful image on screen. Like Riverdale’s cinematography is eh on the best of days but in that moment like wow just absolutely WOW

What are your hopes for S3?: All my hopes and dreams look like they’re coming true and I could cry. Betty has a therapist! Bughead is investigating! Josie is getting more SCREEN TIME. I really do want more Cheryl/Betty friendship moments but I’m not sure if we’ll get them. I’d also love a Jug/Cheryl friendship moment. Also if we could get our Jarchie kiss.

Other fandoms you’re into?: I was in the Miraculous Ladybug fandom for a little while, and the Voltron fandom for some time after that. I just kind of commit to like one fandom or I’ll be dead.

What are some of your favourite movies/TV?: My other go-to show right now (I’ve been rewatching) is RuPaul’s Drag Race because I’m Reality TV Trash. My favorite movie is tricky. I always tell my mom that I don’t watch many movies because I like that TV can show longer more complex plots than movies.

Favourite books?: Fever 1793 was my favorite growing up and sometimes I’ll still read through and cry like a fucking baby even though I know how it goes. I love historical fiction. BUT my absolute FAVORITE book is Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky.

Favourite bands/musicians?: It is I, your friendly admin hipster who has a lot of vinyl, and my fave bands are Panic! At the Disco, Walk the Moon, and the 1975. Also I listen to an absurd amount of broadway musicals because I’m a theatre nerd through and through.

If you could live in any fictional world which one would you choose and why?: I was gonna say Riverdale but I don’t want to chances of me getting murdered to jump up to an absurd amount. I’m small and meek I’d die like Midge. Maybe the Miraculous Ladybug’s Paris because it’s soft and even if I get turned into a bad guy no one hates me and I get a cool costume.

Favourite food?: Strawberries! Specifically Strawberry Shortcake but anything with strawberries on it.

Favourite season?: Winter or Fall! Spring is amazing but it makes me sneeze because allergies.

Favourite plant?: Sunflowers!

Favourite scent?: Lime! It’s clean and fresh.

Favourite colour?: Pastels. Pink, blue, yellow!

Favourite animal?: Doggos! (I’d say cats but i’m terribly allergic to cats even though I love them).

Are you a night owl, an early bird, or a vampire?: My sleep schedule is garbage. I am a night owl who works early morning shifts and is forced to be an early bird.

Place you want to visit?: I want to visit more of europe, specifically France, see more of England, and very much Japan!

Do you have pets? If you do, tell us a little about them: I do have pets! I’ve got my sweet little Poppy. She’s a rescue mutt who I got on my 13th birthday. She’s probably 11-12 right now but none of us have an idea. She’s so soft and beautiful but she is absolutely a little bitch. I go to college so whenever I come home for holidays, she stares at me like I’ve just utterly offended her and turns away. She’s a Princess who is utterly spoiled.

Tell us a little about yourself?: Oh gosh. I’m not sure what to say in this really. I’m graduating a semester early with a double major in Psychology and Anthropology, which I think is really cool, even though I have no idea what I’m going to do with that frankly. I moved a lot growing up because my mom can’t stay still. I’ve got this skin condition called vitiligo so lots of my body doesn’t have pigment!

Fun or weird fact about you?: I can’t properly scowl. Like bring my eyebrows together. I have no idea why.

Asks for fanfic authors:

How long have you been writing?: Oh gosh. So I’ve been writing in notebooks since I was like 5, but I posted my first ever fanfiction (did you mean that Harry Potter fic I posted that I like to ignore?) when I was 10 or 11? I quit writing publicly from about 12 until…I was like 20?

Which is your favourite of the fics you’ve written?: One Last Chance. It was 12k of really just emotional catharsis. I cried while writing it and it just felt so good to write it. Whenever I read it I just smile because I think ‘wow i can’t believe I’m the person who wrote this’.

Favourite fic/chapter/plot-point/character you’ve ever written?: The plot points in What Happened on Elm Street are my favorite because they’re so twisty and turny!

Which was the hardest to write, and why?: What Happened on Elm Street is very difficult to write for me. It’s super complex and I can only give away a little at a time to keep some of the mystery in it. So I have to think a lot for each word I write.

How do you come up with the ideas for you fic(s)? (examples: Do you draw inspiration from real life? Listen to music? Get inspired by TV/movies?) Do you have an process to your writing?: It’s a combination of everything! It’s real life in some ways, like my college experiences, or with songs, like my oneshot I Hate Love Songs! It all depends. Sometimes it just comes to me, like I’ll be watching a movie and I go ‘yes!’.

Idea that you always wanted to write?: A Zombie Apocalypse AU. SO BADLY. But I don’t think it would be very popular, so I always sort of hang back and don’t write it even though I kind of have the first chapter of a WIP written for it. I just love that kind of angst and fear.

Favourite character to write?: Cheryl fucking Blossom. She is just…I love writing all her wittiness! Also apparently Jughead? Since all of my writing has been through Jughead’s POV lately.

Best comment/review you’ve ever received?: So I received a comment on the first chapter of 101 Ways and it was just “DOGGIES” which made me laugh out loud> I also had someone (her name is Cat, she’s an admin, not sure if you’ve heard of her) tell me she cried into her Taco Bell reading One Last Chance. That was iconic.

Best and worst parts of being a writer?: Best parts are absolutely getting to stretch my creativity. I have a lot of ideas and writing is just such a cathartic thing for me. Writing makes me feel unburdened and free and that means a lot to me. I use my writing to cope with some of my anxiety and depression, because I feel good about words and how well I can manipulate them. Worst: That fear. That constant fear of not being enough. Of not being as good. Of comparison. It comes with fandom culture I think, this need to compare yourself to other people. I don’t ever mean to do it, but I can feel it happening sometimes. I love being able to learn from other writers by reading things and being encouraged to experiment, but perhaps it’s just who I am but I do have a problem with comparison.

Do you have any advice to offer?: Experiment experiment experiment! If you like something in another person’s writing, like a certain style, how they use metaphors, etc, there’s nothing wrong with adopting things you like and evolving you're writing based on what you like to read. It’s so important to keep changing and evolving and the only way you can do that is by trying new things!

Zombie Prom-ED [An Ed, Edd n Eddy/Zombie Prom Crossover]

Note: Back in November when I was putting on Zombie Prom at school an anon asked if I could write an EddEddy/Zombie Prom AU. I apologize if this took me so long to do. I hope you enjoy! And please review, as it may go into my senior thesis.

‘You can’t go to the prom with the same gender? Are you sure? ... You drove Eddy to suicide... Going to the dance with a zombie? That’s legal?’

Edd hugged his arms watching his classmates enjoy the prom before his very eyes. The gymnasium looked dazzling with the streamers, a disco ball, and stage lights illuminating beautiful colors all around.

Couples dances, chaperones kept a close guard for any mischief, and friends conversed with one another.

Here Edd was alone.

‘Eddy, I don’t think it’s a good idea to go to the prom together,” Edd remembered saying to Eddy about a month ago..

‘What do you mean?” Eddy’s face was immediately broken. They were outside their school, under the bleachers. Edd should not have been afraid to be seen with him.

‘I don’t mean to listen to others cruel accusations towards up... our affections, but maybe it’s best wee go to the prom with... the gender we should be together with...’

Edd didn’t want to remember the rest of that conversation. Why was he afraid of his feelings? His cowardice caused Eddy to end his life. He was a rambunctious teen since the day he met him only a few months ago. Edd recalled Eddy’s suicide as this; he was seen on the edge of the smokestack belonging to the old gag factory a few miles outside Peach Creek. And then... he was gone.

From what Eddy told him, Edd, along with Ed, was the best thing that ever happened to him. Coming from a past where his own brother abused him, barely knew his father, and his Mom trying to hold up two jobs barely said a word to him. Eddy only wanted someone to love him. As did Edd.

Looking around at the beautiful gymnasium, Edd didn’t see anyone resembling a discolored figure.

It had to have been his imagination. Grief did that.

Only, Eddy returning as a zombie was real. The whole world found out. Eddy was written in newspaper articles, interviewed on TV, and anyone took a selfie with him as proof they were with a zombie.

“Why the long face, Double Dee?” Ed asked his friend with May tagging along.

“Aren’t you having fun?” May asked.

Tears fell from Edd’s eyes. “Oh Ed, what have I done? I should have agreed to attending prom with Eddy. Then all this would never have happened.”

“He’s still here, Double Dee,” Ed assured his friend with a pat on the shoulder.

“It’s better if he were alive. He’s... dead. A zombie.”

“Would you still dance with him even if he were a zombie?” May asked, half smirking.

“Yes. I love him.” Edd admitted.

“Then let’s dance,” A voice said from behind.

Ed turned around. He was faced with zombie Eddy whose face looked as if it had been patched up to cover his open skin revealing the muscles or his whole row of teeth .Skin colored blush was rubbed on his green skin trying to cover it. The green however made Eddy’s baby blues eyes stand out and shine brighter then the lights in the whole room. And Eddy dressed in a fancy suit, no tie, but had a small pink flower pinned to his lapel.

“You look... handsome,” Edd admitted, feeling his cheeks blush.

“So do you.”

Ed pushed Edd forward to dance with Eddy.

Eddy offered his hand. Although, Edd was turned off by the skin peeling off it didn’t change his feelings for Eddy. His hand still radiated love into his body, something Edd never felt before.

The couple walked onto the dance floor, hand in hand. Edd was hesitant at first to cuddle up against Eddy’s body. Was that cologne he smelled. Yes, the cologne Edd adored and wanted to spend all day sniffing to catch Eddy’s scent. A tender hand touched Edd’s hip. 

They lightly swayed from side to side letting the slow melodic tune go through their ears. Everything around them disappeared. Edd lost himself in Eddy’s eyes. Only he mattered. Not the world.

“Eddy?” Edd asked after a long interval of silence.

“Yeah, sockhead?” Eddy asked calling him that endearing nickname.

“Can you forgive me?”

Eddy smirked, though a touch of sadness and regret filled his eyes. “I’m still dead.”

“I know. I shouldn’t have let my fear obstruct our relationship.”

“It’s my fault to yah know,” Eddy added. “What was I thinking?”

“I didn’t know you were feeling that way, Eddy. I was afraid. I shouldn’t be. This is our time. Love is love. You made my life worth living for. Oh, Eddy, I want to be together with you!”

Eddy smiled once more. His eyes filled with happiness. “I don’t know if I can promise you a future, Double Dee.”

“I don’t care, Eddy. It’s a tough world. I want to experience it with you, zombie or no zombie.” Edd remarked gripping Eddy’s arms tightly.

“There’s bound to be some people out there who won’t accept... us.”

Looking at Eddy sincerely, without any hesitation, Edd kissed Eddy’s lips. Ignoring Eddy chapped lips, they were warm. As were Edd’s as they let their love soak through their bodies. 

“I know that,” Edd continued his sentence after the kiss. “I am insistent there are people who will understand our love. And on matter what the future brings... we’ll always have each other! Thank you.”

As the lovers basked the warm feeling, Edd place his head on Eddy’s shoulder as they danced along to the tune.

Tfw you realized both AUs you made has Remus with a history of chronic pain problems.

Wretched!Remus, being a Fransteinian abomination, is in constant pain. But since that’s all he knows and just his overall temperament makes it not obvious. He generally deals with it by humor and distractions. Sketchy aS FUUUCK distractions.

iZ!Remus, before being a zombie, had a pretty elaborate medical history. Of note, having plates and screws from various accidents he’s had in his life and also the consequences of cancer treatment. Him being a bit of a daredevil might’ve made it not obvious just how much everything was hurting - but let’s just say, he loved the whole lack of pain sensitivity aspect of being turned into a zombie. (”Curse That Cures” applies too.)

Remus is not nearly as prone to wallow in angst like Roman is (again I think it’s mostly a low-Fe vs high-Fi thing)... but still. Oof.

And then this lead to this conversational thread about music with the co-conspirator:

Me: now i just pictured him singing that in the shower or something in roman's earshot and roman can't help but hum/sing-along
