12. Favorite fic of the year: Hard to say but I've been enjoying a lot of the Tickletober works specifically by @lovelynim and @ticklygiggles, and also this Nimona fic by @bambinella has become a fav, and all RWRB fics by @kourtniwritesagain!!!!! I still need to reblog them here.

13. Favorite ask game of the year: I can't remember which ones I played, but I remember there was a time I had reblogged "post your anonymous confessions" or something, and it resulted in the most interesting asks and conversations with you guys^^ I liked that.

14. My top achievements as a writer/artist/creator/blogger: If I'll be around in a year, this won't be 'writer' but 'blogger', but for this one as a writer, it'll again be completing all 31 days of tickletober right on schedule despite a minor intervention.. :"D

15. My own best fic/post of the year: I have no idea! But if I ask AO3, it answers that my best fic of this year is my bowuigi fic mahahaha (based on kudos btw).

16. My most underappreciated fic/post of the year: Let's give that award to these 2 poor Tickletober fics (which I enjoyed writing a lot) that were not reblogged by anyone meaning they are no longer on Tumblr since my account loss:

Wonder if I'll ever get to it, since my reading and fic reblogging is already not what I like it to be, meaning that every fic I reblog would probably belong on that list lol. But alright, I'd like to make a faves of the faves list then.

20. Goals for next year: Read more...!!! Read more books, more manga, more webtoons, more tickle fics. I love them, so I should read more! My truest ambition.

23. So to prevent this embarrassment I won't mention any names this time.

I especially would like to thank everyone who is still around, who is reading this, who followed my new blog. To be honest, on my old blog I felt flattered to have so many followers but I was also aware it was the effect of being active for 7 years in a ton of fandoms, and that it didn't say anything about the accurate number of people appreciating what I was posting.

But to be at already almost 500 followers on this blog? Where I only post shit? Now that's a compliment I will gladly accept. Thank you to all of you for the support!

Now, let’s begin.

Save a ghost, ride a cowboy. This man can be damn rowdy if you want him to be.

He’s hot headed, loves a good bar, a good game of pool, like a true yeehaw blooded american. So if you get him to wear a cowboy hat, you’re really in for it.

Merrick is steadily approaching his older years now and having been around the block a couple times now, I think he’d definitely prefer a partner who knows what they want. That doesn’t mean you have to be experienced, he's just a little over the shyness of it all now. The man does not beat around the bush, he wouldn’t be a commander today if he wasn’t assertive.

Merrick’s not opposed to one night stands but he’s also started to make jokes that he’s ‘over his prime’. Unless you completely took charge and played all of your cards correctly, I don’t think he’d take home a woman in their 20’s.

The whole ‘innocent young girl’ act just wouldn’t work on him, period. He would love the idea of having a daughter one day, even if he had to do it as a single father. I’m certain you can find the correlation there yourself.

(On a different note, Merrick as a father - to a daughter especially - is incredibly protective. He’ll scare off any potential date until they find one he likes, he’ll be proactive if anyone was making fun of them in class and the house has many security systems built in. Not to mention the fact he’s a petty officer, so if his child doesn't do their chores on any given day, they’ll never live it down).

Merrick’s favourite thing to this date is shower sex. Warm water, a hot woman and all the time in the world. What more could he ever ask for?

Seriously though, he’s been a SEAL since he was 17. The man has spent his entire life tossed between aircrafts, navy carriers, land bases and raid sites. The most luxurious thing to him is a long, hot shower.

When he’s home alone, he’ll get himself off in the shower (also because it feels more private to him and it’s an easy clean up overall). Water running down his spine, palmed braised on the tiled wall. He’ll let his head hang forward, eyelids clamped. If an incredibly undignified noise wants to leave his mouth, then is the only time he’ll let it slip.

However, he’ll have you in any position imaginable that could fit in that shower. His absolute favourite is having a shower with a glass door facing the mirror above the vanity. He’ll press your chest up to the glass and watch as you struggle to find a comfortable way to rest your head. Eventually he’ll give in and yank your wet hair back to your chin and sit against the glass, leaving your throat on complete display just for him. Then there's your ass slapping against him, your curved spine shiny and wet. It’s not the best position to get the most of him in you and you’ll likely cramp up quicker, but if you can handle it, it’s the quickest position to get Merrick to finish.

Circling back to the daughter thing: man has a breeding kink. He’ll take any chance he can to ask if he can make you a mummy.

There was one time you were riding him, holding his hands out by his head. The sight of you alone taking what you need from him was enough to keep him hard long after release but then you started to talk to him. Tease him the best way you know how.

“You wanna be a father hmm? I’m gonna make you a father” He’ll groan like he was in pain and you’ll feel it, his dick deep inside you just as restless as his hands were. “What will your kids call you? Dad, daddy, papa?”

When he’s out on a mission, if he’s not thinking about the view of you in the shower, it’s your voice in his ear getting him off. And when you’re with him, then wrap your arms around his neck, let your hands roam his chest and whisper in his ear for only him to hear about how good of a father he’s going to be. He will follow you around like a lost puppy.

You did it to him around the ghosts once and they kicked up a storm. What nasty, dirty thing could you have possibly said to make him completely melt in your hand like that.

If it’s not a “mummy” kind of day, he’ll say “yes ma’am.” In or outside the bedroom, he’ll say “yes ma’am” and absolutely loves it when you run the show. He’s also an avid user of “that’s my woman” when you are doing something helpful or badass.

I don’t know about you but I am absolutely whipped for this man’s voice. He would be absolutely smitten if he found out what his voice did to you. Also another thing that should be talked about more here is that Merrick can speak spanish.

So if you’re being cruel and teasing him, he’ll send it back ten fold (He’s a massive tease and would love a witty woman). He’ll whisper right back into your ear, telling you what he wants to do to you, how hot you look in that outfit and sprinkle in anything in Spanish, until you're a shameless, moaning mess in public.

Merrick isn’t opposed to public sex depending on the situation. Mission are an absolute no and it’d be very unlikely he’d let go all the way when hiding out in a safe house.

(If you were with the ghosts hiding at a safehouse, he’d honestly see it as a game of ‘who can last the longest’. Both of you so so stubborn that the game has only ever ended the lot of you going back into combat or with Rorke or even Elias saying they’ll clear the room just so he can fuck you already. The both of you get so tense and strict just because you’re holding out on each other and the others find it very. very. annoying).

If you were at a bar or restaurant or cinema or even another ghost’s house, however, it’s fair game (granted you can actually find a spot you won’t get caught).

It all started in a movie once, only two other seats were filled out and both were on the other side of the room. You grabbed his hand, stuck it between your legs and started to grind against it. He may have given you the most unamused look but even when you finished, he wouldn’t let go of your pussy until the film was done.

He can be quite loud in the bedroom. Most of the time, however, he’ll only grunt and groan. He’s gonna be really worked up or angry to get a yell out.

He finds the maintenance of his beard quite an intimate thing and as much as a middle aged man can, he gets quite giddy when you trim it for him.

Having you sit on his lap in the bathroom with a comfortable silence. His hands instinctively roaming your back as you giggle. His smile makes it harder for you to be precise that eventually you hold his head still by the jaw. He wouldn’t be able to take his eyes off you as concentrated on getting this right for him. He didn’t seem to care as much as you did and just brought you into a kiss.

Usually if things escalate like that, you’d have to finish trimming his beard later in the night.

Like mentioned before, Merrick’s been a SEAL for all of his adult life. He’s been a ghost since his early 20’s and has become most of his identity. Seeing you in his ghost mask could then draw two responses out of him depending on how he’s feeling.

On some days, he’d hate to see you wear the mask, see you be associated with any of the violence that that mask has seen.

On other days and more commonly however, seeing you wear his mask does something to him. Seeing you let this mask that has become a symbol of him wrap your face, so willing to be one with him. He wouldn’t make love to you in it but it would definitely instigate the evening.

Besides he’s always thought the mask looked cool and you looking hot in it only confirms it. And then if the mask continued to smell like your perfume, even for a few days afterwards, he would be the happiest man alive.

god forbid a character be morally ambiguous or make mistakes or have a lapse in judgment or have a facade meant to be dismantled by the viewer or—

it’s so fun being a very big fan of both of these characters. so so fun 😔

I mean tristrat makes it pretty easy to misinterpret or underappreciate certain characters in a sense because they’re. three dimensional! and complex! and INTERESTING! and dealing with VERY TOUGH CIRCUMSTANCES AND DECISIONS but even still, understanding the characters boils down to playing the game to its fullest and not just immediately dismissing a character because they made one bad or otherwise questionable decision (as fun as it is to poke fun at certain decisions sometimes like yeah let’s go blow up a dam that sounds fun, it is still good to actually. understand. why the choice was offered in the first place?)

some of the temenos takes out there though. yikes. just. yikes. I don’t even know where to begin with those also I’d feel bad just randomly dumping my thoughts on the matter in your inbox sorry

uh sorry for randomly throwing this at you but I read those tags and felt them in the core of my being

Fortunately with Roland it feels like the fandom has gotten better with the bad fan takes or I'm just good at curating my fandom space haha but being a Roland fan during the early days was rough bc it felt like people saw Roland's chapter 17 decision and immediately threw out all previous characterizations and ignored any further characterization. I think I even saw posts on reddit complaining how he was helping the Roselle in the non utility endings bc they seem to think that's why his chapter 17 decision is what it was. Like its an absolutely horrid decision, but it was made out of hatred for himself and for Aesfrost.

And there was also people who assumed that I only liked Roland bc I wasn't that far in the game (note: when I got the comment, I had already finished my first TriStrat run)

And yeah, there's definitely the point that Triangle Strategy lets you make horrible decisions (you mentioned the dam, but you also have things like selling out the Roselle chapter 11).

There are 100% critiques you can make about Roland, but many of those critiques and takes feel like they were made out of bad faith.

As with Temenos, the mischaracterization, especially when in reference to shipping him with Crick is what made me dislike the ship. Especially early on, it felt like a looot of the ship content was flattening Temmy (and Crick) to fit the two perfectly into flat ship dynamics. I've actually found my self less frustrated (and occasionally) with Temenos x Crick content that actually treats them like multidimensional characters.

And even without the ship stuff, there's people who don't understand that a large part of Temmy's personality is a mask (which also feels very flattening).

Ok, this is about the sorcerer Cedric from Sofia the First:

He reminds me of Gyro in SO. MANY. WAYS.

Traumatic backstory

Wildly misunderstood

Overlooked and underappreciated

Everything he does goes horribly wrong because of his deep insecurities from a tragic past

Nobody has any faith in his abilities

His 'arrogance' is really a cover for his low self-confidence

Everyone's treatment of him left him bitter, aloof, and closed-off

Bad with emotions or letting others in

A single incident from his past that wasn't his fault- which he finds out the truth about later- haunted him for so many years afterward (which was only revealed in the final season, just like Gyro's backstory in '17 DuckTales)

Is 'one day away from turning evil' because of what he endured

He's absolutely hilarious and over-the-top (and is often the victim of slapstick antics), and just steals the show

Is sassy and snarky as heck

I want to hug him so much.

Only, unlike Gyro, THEY ACTUALLY ELABORATE ON HIS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT (and he and Gyro are both side characters, so DT really had no excuse not to do the same). AND IT IS GLORIOUS. :D

I didn't like the books I read this year that much, but I guess my favorite was Six Crimson Cranes. Also read some light novels and they were The Marriage Business and I'll be the Warrior's Mother.

911 Lone Star Rewatch: 3x01

Ahhhh!! I'm so excited!!!!! I love love love the ice storm arc. It's so brilliant. (Like, if I had a nickel every time a 911 show had a multi-episode arc at the beginning of their third season that changed me as a person.... you know what I mean?) Okay, okay. Enough yapping. Let's get into thissss.

Opening with the shot of Billy and his black eye is iconic. You deserve it greasy man. "if you want to blame anybody, blame yourself." "And yet, I blame you." Tell him, Owen!!!

MARJAN'S OUTFIT. Her headscarf wrapped like a long braid!! She looks gorgeous.

"We never give up, until hell freezes over" immediately switch to an it's always sunny in Philadelphia title card that says 'Hell freezes over & the gang gives up".

I have to say the thing that they do on this multi-episode arcs where they show you the first part of an emergency, but don't come back to it until sometimes episode later, stresses me outtttt. That kid under the ice is just so terrifying.

Okay but why are the paragon uniforms so good though? Paragon is the worst, but TNT looks great in powder blue.

So did everyone know that TK and Carlos were broken up before the episode aired?? Like was it in promos or trailers or was it a shock during the first episode??? Someone who was around, let me know! Because I would have been shocked.

Charlie's nursery is so beautiful. Judd put so much care into his little cloud animals for his daughter. Ughhhhhhh. The only dad ever.

So Carlos gets to the 126 preeeetty quickly after they call the cops on Marjan. Is that where his beat is? Or was he just around the area because he knew what was happening that day and knew Marjan was gonna cause some trouble.

Season 3 is definitely the best Carlos' entry.

I'm not gonna lie, I loved Owen's hill country era. Just him and buttercup going on a little walkabout for a while, leaving the house to Matteo and TK. OH AND SADIE. She sucks, obviously. But god she is so fun. Because you really don't see her betrayal coming at all.

"Look at our little probie all grown up!" That's his brother your honor. Matteo and TK's dynamic is great and, admittedly, underappreciated.

Billy... I love you...I hate you... I love you...I hate you...

"Try not to hit any pot holes on the way". TK is trying his BEST, Tommy.

Carlos have such a cool and calm exterior and then just being the most awkward and sweet man on the inside. I want to study him like a bug.

Here's the thing, Marjan. I get what you are saying about how Owen could've just signed the letter. But I am with Judd and Paul on this one. "unprovoked, cowardly attack" would have made me throw another punch.

Judd talking to Grace about Owen hitting Billy is so funny. "he knocked that man out cold." "But did he die though????"

I think one hug from Buttercup would heal me.

"hide behind your beard and your strategically placed clutter" I'm sorry Owen, but Marjan ate you up a bit with that one.

Okay wait. When the roof of that building collapses, right before Carlos picks up the Major, I can't quite catch what was said. Does Carlos ask him 'do you trust me?'. Cuz if so, the Major says yes so fast. And I think that says a lot about the impression Carlos leaves on people. He's just so clearly a decent human.

OH GOD. Carlos immediately forgetting how to speak as soon as he sees TK. And TK BEING THE ONE TO RESPOND TO CARLOS' QUESTION with his little sassy answer. Ugh, you idiots are so in love.

Matteo, Paul, and Judd are peak brotherhood in season 3. Like their whole Elsa's palace exchange is golden. Matteo and Paul start to make fun of Judd and he takes it to 11 immediately.

Owen is always going on the most insane side-quests.

I forgot this episode ends with Marjan's crash! Another cliffhanger! After a whole hiatus!! I would have been gnawing at the bars of my enclosure.

Season 3, my beloved!! I'm very happy to be in this part of the rewatch. These next 17 episodes are going to be great. 10/10!!

~GENERAL QUESTIONS~

Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than, or about what was expected?

I wrote less than I hoped I would but as the year progressed, I think I wrote as much as I thought I would.

I actually barely achieved any of my 2022 goals. I finished AFBTTYA but didn't finish posting it. Didn't finish Defrosting Ivy, Golden Ramyeon, or Life on Pause. I didn't take part in a collab/project (tried to but then realized I wouldn't finish in time). That being said, I do feel like I worked towards healing my relationship with writing more and I did read more! Which I am so proud of.

Any reasons why?

I'm a super optimistic person with goal setting so I am not surprised that I set my hopes high. In fact, with goals I often use reach goals rather than SMART/attainable goals. I also think that this understandably ignores all my academic writing. I took a hiatus my final semester because I was doing so much writing with my ulnar nerve inflammation, was super burnt out from school, and needed to reduce what I was doing. All valid things. I probably wrote at least to 100k words if I included my academic writing.

What pairing/genre/fandom/trope did you write that you would never have predicted last year?

Succubus au!

How was it?

I loved it so much. I think that if I have energy/plan to write more oneshots, I might try to include more traditionally sexy things (or at least sexy here) and make them very ace. It's super fun.

What’s your favorite story this year?

Well... I want to say DIA 3... but since I finished it this year rather than write/posted the whole thing, Imma say The Creamed Pie!

What story took the longest?

AFBTTYA (4 years!)

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?

I don't think I took risks persay. More so, I think I tried to be more protective and be less impulsive. The biggest example of this is trying to give my writing space between finishing and posting (and finishing something before posting which is why my posted word count is so small in comparison to my written word count).

365 days feels like a super long time... but honestly, I don't know if I will feel the impacts of all I've worked on until later in 2024. Writing and less posting really does mean that a lot of what I sowed will not be reaped for later. I think I'd like a faster turn around though.

What was your most productive days/day of the week/month, etc in terms of writing?

Well *adjusts collar* It appears that July was my most productive month for writing!

Name one thing you improved on this year in relation to writing. Either an actual technical writing thing, or even a mental approach to writing change.

I think that I've taken to really focusing on the process of writing more which is nice. I don't know how much this will continue in 2024 since I also took a long hiatus but I would love to continue to focus on the process of writing and less on the posting aspect.

Name one thing you’d like to improve on in the future?

Range. Esp since I enjoy writing for two groups with OCs, readers, and member pairings. I enjoy intentionally including range... and since I really only posted 4 units (two series and two one shots) that range wasn't really the focus.

3. Tell me about one of your fics you think is underrated/underappreciated.

I feel like this question is a trap, because I feel like it's douchey to say that any fic of mine ~deserves more attention than it's gotten, and that if I answer anything concrete people will be like "WHAT A TERRIBLE PERSON V IS." But very quietly, I do wish that Lent From Tomorrow were getting more readership than it is. I GET why it's not -- it's an unfinished WIP, for one thing, and for another Stucky heyday is long past -- but I did have kind of higher pie-in-the-sky hopes for people enjoying it as much as I do.

17. What is your most written pairing?

According to AO3, my most-written pairings are Stucky (209 fics), Booker/Nile (111 fics), Yelena/Kate (105 fics), Poe/Rey (95 fics), and Joe/Nicky (83 fics).

31. Do you listen to music while writing?

NOOOOO, NEVER. I listen to a podcast or a calm TV show or something 100% of the time all the time always, but I especially can't do music while writing. I need a quiet constant-volume constant-tempo chatter.

44. How often do you write?

I try to write every day, and I was doing really well for a while!, but every so often I miss a day. I'm going to try really hard to get back to the daily drabble posting in 2024 and have my themes all picked out everything.
