Oh, the tea is definitely magically altered - but in a different way than the young man in front of Stephen might expect. It's very much a natural product, not enhanced in any shape or form, but...

Well, whoever takes a sip of that tea will taste exactly what they want to taste, what they enjoy the most as a flavor. Magic can do some really neat things sometimes, and Strange likes to use that to his advantage; He's a good host... at least in some ways.

The Singularity like ships; she likes places with people inside of them for this entity was alone in many universes. This one had vastness of strange things and stranger people. These people were all different from one another but born the same colored shirts and were friendly.

Mostly, friendly but that may have been another reality. It's hard to keep track of the places the little pocket dimension has appeared in.

This ship was massive, with a lot of bells and whistles compared to the last ship she had hitched a ride on. She's alone, pops into the place when the crew is sleeping and marvels at the screens of the computers. Singularity knows from experience now, not to touch and she loses herself in the hum of the ship, of the space around the ship as well.

Until she's startled by a voice, and the pocket dimension closes in on herself then appears again five feet from where she had been.

Uh, hi.

Friendly voice, and Singularity perks up. Whole body drifts closer, raising up off the ground to meet Kirk at face level and smiles. ❝ HI! NICE SHIP! ❞ then remember her manners as this was normally the time the crew slept. ❝ DID WAKE YOU? SORRY! ❞ It's not a voice that truly speaks, but a cheery sound and words come to mind of all who she converses with.

EVERYONE HAD A PAST VERSION OF THEMSELVES. But if you asked Sulu, none of them would be who they were to day if they did not grow from the people they were. He'd done a lot of stuff in his youth, some of it illegal, but it helped shaped him into the man he was today. As did his parents, even if he wasn't the biggest fan of his father.

Lounging in his chair, legs tucked under him on the observation deck, Sulu kept a careful eye on the Captain. He was riled about something but he didn't know what had been the trigger.

"But you're no longer that person, @darehearts. Like you said, you used to be. So why is it an issue now?"

Khan seems to be the personification of nonchalance at that very moment; The chosen cookie is picked off the plate and bitten into without any second thoughts, as if he has nothing to care about at this very moment. ---Perhaps Khan truly does not, actually; He's on his break currently, heard about the Captain's baking skills, the fact that he offers his results freely to anyone who wants to have a taste.

And if there's one thing to know about Khan - besides ... everything else, really - it is that he's got an insanely massive sweet tooth. Anything baked is his favorite, for the matter, and he sure as hell isn't letting that opportunity go to waste.

So, when half the cookie has already disappeared between a set of lips, and when Kirk finally speaks, a set of blue eyes equally-as-finally flicks over to take in the sight of the other he's been more or less ignoring for now; Just because he can, that is, not because he's holding any kind of grudge in any way.

His intentions might have even been of... teasing nature. A bit of a jab between... colleagues?

"---Unfortunate."

Teeth part, the rest of that cookie disappears between them; Khan chews, brushes off any crumbs sticking to his fingers by wiping his palms along the hem of his shirt, then---

...Takes another cookie. For good measure. They're good.

"Perhaps I still have to get used to..." Another bite is taken, equally as nonchalant as the others, "...the human ways of behavior." Another bite. No, Khan is not serious - he knows how stuff works. He's just... him.

It is then that he actually shows a smirk, a rather playful one, as he tilts his head.

"So, are you going to put me back behind glass for a second time? 'Dared to take two cookies from the Captain's plate'. ---Outrageous."

It's well fought victory, and it's why he's mulling over leaving. He didn't want to take away from that; didn't want to be the moon casting shadow over the room; let everyone frolic in the sunlight if Clint's keeping track of this metaphor properly.

He bumps his shoulder against Kirk's when he teases him for the melancholy that was hanging over his own shoulders. He can't help the laugh as it was pointed out this wasn't a funeral home. A finger taps at the rim of the glass he's holding. Ordered out of habit, which after Nero he had to get serious about the rest of whatever life was going to be.

❝ I don't know looks like a funeral home to me. ❞ Clint muses with a laugh, taps the glass full of liquid, decides that he'll share a little. How wouldn't a bar be a funeral home. ❝ You know how when you want to join Starfleet, you gotta do an interview? ❞

Kirk's eagerness to cheer him up is appreciated, if he doesn't feel that he's truly earned such the privilege of throwing his authority around to talk to someone. The only person to talk to was himself and the newly named Captain has earned from Clint however his story and honesty. That and something about how talking about it will help him.

❝ I downed two glasses of gin before it because if I fucked it up; well, I could have the rest of the bottle and wouldn’t care. I thought it made answering questions easier; I am a better liar under liquid influence. ❞ That's probably a load of bullshit, but that was the lies he told himself to make sense of himself.

He holds up the glass in his hand, ❝ What is a bar to an ex-drinker? A graveyard. ❞ He looks to the all the glasses with liquor in them around the room, on the other side of the bar.

❝ This is better for me, but I still ordered the glass. Promise I'm celebrating, but getting use to this. ❞ This being watching others drink and get drunk, ans not joining them. They did it in fun and it's one night, or maybe one week, but he was different. That's harder to own, harder to look in the mirror and see his father looking back or Barney's words thrown in his face all over again.

Clint smiles though, it's hard but it's not bad. A little sad, but he'll get better at this sober thing. ❝ I imagine Captain is going to take a moment to get use to; or do you already feel it? ❞

He offers the glass of amber liquid towards Kirk, it shouldn't go to waste. He picked a good bottle for it to be poured from. Someone should appreciate the burn. ❝ A toast to whatever comes next and I promise that'll taste good. ❞
