@twisted-up-in-wonderland REPLYING TO YOUR POST HERE BECAUSE I DON’T WANNA CLUTTER THE DUNGEON MESHI ART’S REBLOGS WITH MY RAMBLES URM
The girlie’s Falin from Dungeon Meshi /Delicious in Dungeon! She’s not a siren, unfortunately. She’s a chimera, originally a human. It’s a banger series, go read/watch it if you can!
But Vil being a Siren, like I see you. I SEE YOU. If no one got me I know you got me 🤝🤝 modern creature aus have me in a chokehold, like Vil’s newest card like hello????? HELLO?????? MAN IS SLAYING, HE IS OFF THE CHARTS, GOING TO LEVELS OF SERVING NO MAN HAS EVER GONE BEFORE
Very normal about him trust me believe me-
Siren Vil who’s adapted to modern society, for the better or for the worse. The star of every show he acts in, stealing the stage with that enchanting voice of his. Although that’s not to say he’s a one-trick-pony. His voice isn’t his only weapon in stardom.
Vil studies acting as an art form, using his very own body as the canvas. Every step, every minuscule change in his expression is all perfectly calculated, delicate strokes of paint done with deft fingers.
He has this air of dignified elegance, on and off camera. A trail of emerald green feathers trailing after him, the robe of a queen. There’s something startling about the eyes rest on the fluff is his feathers, you could have sworn they seem to follow you when you move. Careful, don’t step on them.
Vil hasn’t exactly forgotten how to bite.
But Peacock Siren Vil who’s grown a little attached to you. His adorable assistant, rushing around all in a flutter to get Vil where he needs to be. He simply just adores the way your brows frown in concentration when you pour over his schedule, arranging appointments on his behalf.
He’ll tap the centre of your brow lightly, giving you a small smile. Relax a little, or the lines will stay.
Peacock Siren Vil who doesn’t let anyone but you handle his tail. Brushing them gently, straightening out every feather. It’s a sort of break, for both of you. Just sitting beside each other, enjoying the company. Vil talks to you. Aimless chatter, about the weather, about what’s going on, about the latest movie. It’s a time for him to destress, for his shoulders to loosen.
Likewise, brushing Vil’s tail serves as a kind of self-care for you. It lets your mind rest, only focusing on the repeated motion of going back and forth. You do talk to Vil as well, about random points of your day, stories you’ve heard, maybe pepper him with a few questions, as well. He listens, answering whatever he can with a soft smile dancing on his lips.
It’s a time for both of you to relax and unwind in each other’s company. Vil isn’t too sure about how you feel about it, but he does look forward to these little quiet moments every day.
He doesn’t have to be Vil Schoenheit the breathtaking siren, the upcoming grand star when he’s alone with you.
He’s just Vil, the man hopelessly in love with you.

Okay I'm coming in hot for director's cut - so sorry if you've already answered this, but I'm curious how "Pencils" came to be in your mind / I'd love to hear any thoughts you have about this series.
- @superblysubpar 💛
Tumblr media
Thank you for the ask @superblysubpar I’m coming in slow AF with my answer. Sorry about that babes. Been a helluva week. This ask made me smile though-
As far as Pencil’s nickname is concerned, I can tell you that it comes from a very innocent and a very sweet place; I simply believe that they first met/ knew of each other/ were in each others orbit/ in one class back in middle school.
Eddie being the scrungly non conformist metal baby that he was back then, probably didn’t care to come equipped for class, and then he gets sat behind this cool girl in scruffy jeans and too big plaid and sneakers, always humming cool songs and sending a withering glare at the empty headed preppy kids en route to high school stardom, when they picked on anyone (him mostly)
He doesn’t know why he does it. Maybe he’s looking for an olive branch, but either way he asks this cool girl in front of him, on the first day of class if he can borrow or steal a Pencil.
And she smiles, and says sure and hands him one. No problem.
Every class she smiles when he lopes in late and slips behind her. Every time he asks for one despite having several in his bag he plays dumb, just because of the rush of talking to her. Better than any sugar rush or sabbath riff.
He wants to approach her outside class, but he constantly sees her with this popular girl glued to her side as she rambles on about boys. He scuffs his converse and lets his courage shrink. Maybe pulls clownish stunts to see her laugh. And it all goes into distant orbit of being aware of each other by the time high school comes around. Aware but distanced.
Then, one fateful night, years and years and many grades later, he’s just done a deal with an asshole jock in the woods at Kyle whatshisnames party, and when he steps back onto the green green lawn, to scurry along home, imagine his shock when he finds that same girl, primped and partied up in a poppy outfit-
Pretty as ever too. So so pretty.
He’s never forgotten Pencil girl. Pencils. the nickname snapped out his mouth then with fervour and a toothy grin. Pencils. Always holding one in class. Doodling away. Drawing the shape and shading on hands or pill bugs or flowers and weird dogs and buildings and streets on the margins of her books or legal pads. The artist through and through.
Wants to study it one day, she said. Draw and draw til her fingers drop off. Draw comics and stage sets and paintings-
He’s never forgotten her small acts of kindness where everyone else had slung venom. Passed him answers on little torn scraps of paper for the pop quiz. Lend him pencils when he needed them. Or an eraser. Or stifled a laugh when he said something funny to frustrate the teacher.
She’s sat there, on this lawn chair, drunk probably, and there’s evidence of tears under her eyes and she’s just small and all alone, and he just, he can’t have that. He can’t leave it like that.
This time Eddie puffs his chest up and grins, eyes dancing bright, this time, the chance seems way too good to let slip through his fingers.
He can’t look away now he’s seen her. This is fate. It’s destiny even. If this shit show called life could ever hand him something kind and good, then here it is baby. Lit up in flashing gold tulip bulb lights like a goddamned broadway theatre.
Don’t miss this one again, kid. Hope don’t come knocking twice.
He cracks his knuckles. He boldly goes to see if she remembers him.
Here goes nothin, Munson-

Laughing Through Color: Alice Wu's Saving Face (2004)
Tumblr media
Saving Face is a vastly underrated 2004 lesbian rom-com about Wilhelmina (AKA Wil), a young closeted Chinese-American surgeon whose mother Hwei-Lan, played by the inimitable Joan Chen of Twin Peaks fame, continues to try to set her up with Chinese men at community events, one of which leads her to the magnetic Vivian Shing, a dancer whose father happens to be Wil's boss. An unmarried 48-year-old widow, Hwei-Lan unexpectedly gets pregnant, is subsequently shunned by her community, and moves in with Wil all while refusing to divulge the identity of her child's father to anyone, including Wil. She hides herself from Wil, who hides herself in return as Vivian forces her to grapple with queerness in public vs. private. The mother and daughter both struggle with the ways their sexualities are on display, for Wil on the axis of queerness and for Hwei-Lan as a pregnant unmarried person and are afraid of how the cultural norms they transgress infiltrate their relationship with each other and the world around them, a fact that ultimately helps them relate to each other more.
It was the feature debut for Alice Wu, a Taiwanese-American lesbian director, and one of the most interesting things about it for me is how it explores Wil's queerness as a parallel to her mother's journey and the ways the two work against gendered and cultured expectations alongside each other. This movie is smart, sexy, funny, and thoughtful and demonstrates a possibility for the rom-com genre to traverse nuanced depths of love and relationships and how culture imbues them with questions that prove so difficult to answer. It doesn't rush to answer these questions or present them as simple dilemmas constructed as mechanisms to thicken the plot but positions them as part of the architecture of love. Saving Face is invested in how many things can be true at once. What if queerness could be relatable beyond its variable boundaries and could help articulate the disillusion of being marginalized by your own community? Hwei-Lan's journey with her daughter's sexuality prods at this, wades around in its fullness--she is at once in and out of her culture, held by its comforts and shunned by its rigidity, but when confronted with this complication in Wil she sees so much familiarity reflected back at her.
Tumblr media
Wil's relationship with her mother starts to affect her budding romance with Vivian who, unlike Wil, is openly gay. Vivian is pursuing contemporary dance against the wishes of her father, who wants for her to continue in traditional ballet--at the nexus of this story is the conflict between individual desire and tradition, and the added layer of queerness implicates this conflict and creates in the characters differently complicated relationships with authenticity. Vivian transcends her ethnic origins in her espousal of American values, especially concerning individual freedoms, and Wil's reluctance to detach from these origins (and subsequently alienate her mother) starts to impact their relationship. Wil is afraid to kiss Vivian in public but loves her freely in private; Saving Face understands the ability to move through public spaces as yourself as a culturally specific phenomenon and presents the stories of people who never had to think about it so much as they do at this moment, who try to make it matter less but when it comes crashing down on them, discover how badly it is they wish to be seen.
Tumblr media
Alice Wu sought specifically to make a movie by and for Asian-American queer people, repeatedly rejecting studio's pleas to cast a major white actress in one or both of the leading roles and the film having an entirely Asian-American cast is an significant diversion from the typical trajectory of Hollywood rom-coms--Kaklamanidou's “Romantic Comedy and the ‘Other’: Race, Ethnicity, and the Transcendental Star" points out that many people of color in the rom-com genre, Will Smith in Hitch being one achieve stardom and success through the ways they shore up comfortable, easily digestible and markedly neutral characters who happen to be people of color without isolating white audiences, wherein box office success is entrusted. Saving Face, however, demonstrates a lack of interest in mainstream success and is interestingly also somewhat lacking from the queer canon; it occupies a noticeably niche space in the realm of queer movies insofar that its mainstream success was limited but, unlike other "before-its-time" movies ascribed with queer cult status such as Jennifer's Body, didn't necessarily circle back around to audiences today. The lack of whiteness in this film is no doubt a salient causal factor in this lack of rebirth--while being funny, it also demonstrates a commitment to telling arguably a serious story, and the film doesn't necessitate a "campy" read as much as other retroactively added to the queer canon.

Eddie with black dancer s/o Hip Hop , Modern ect. And her struggles of being a black dancer

"Knock them dead."
Eddie Munson x Black!Reader
Author note: Hopefully, you enjoyed this, and sorry if this wasn't what you wanted also; I didn't know what you mean by modern, so my bad, I gave it a little bit of a twist yk; hopefully, this to your liking. (sorry for the long wait)
𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞: Fluff and bits of angst(?)

Tumblr media
*ೃ༄ You danced for hours, and your feet became sore, blisters forming on your feet; practicing for your debut show, you couldn't mess it up, not with the chance you got from the table.
Sweat poured from your body; you refused to give up; it wasn't in your will; you were going to master it and not even caring that your legs were going to collapse on you.
Your coils bouncing from your sudden moveth,
Your reflection bounced off the mirrors, mimicking your moveth, music booming from the boombox, and your shoes were almost worn out.
This was your chance to enter stardom, and you let anyone take that light from you, not on your watch, dreaming of being an idol of girls like you, of looking up to you as an inspiration, breaking the wall and barriers of socially and racial segregation.
Tired..that was the only thing in your mind, but you weren't going to rest; you heard the door open, and that was the only time you stopped and looked to see who it was in the studio.
You turned off the music and went to the door.
Eddie; he was standing there holding the water bottle you accidentally left while rushing to the studio.
"What are you doing here, ed?" you walked to him; even though your legs might just stop, you endured it.
"I'm here to give this back to you, Y/N." Eddie handed back your water bottle; you took it from his hand.
"Thanks!" there was a pause; it was a bit awkward, "Well, uh, it seems that you worked up a sweat," Eddie said; you chuckled at his comment, "I guess so,"
Another pause came in, "Well, uh, I going to head back-" you reached for his hand.
"N-no, please stay, Eddie, with me here in the studio." you pulled him back.
"Is everything okay, Y/N" Eddie gently cupped your face; when he said that to you, you tried to keep yourself composed, but even you those words hit something inside of you, some sort of vulnerable, turned you into a crying mess.
Tears stained your face, rolling down your cheeks; you couldn't keep them in anymore; you couldn't hide your problems, especially when you were in them.
"I-I'm sorry," you muttered; Eddie didn't even respond to you; he hugged you, your face gently hitting his face, your salty tears staining his shirt.
Your heavy breathing echoed the room; Eddie hugged you tightly and kissed your head, "You know, can talk me, Y/N,"
"It's just I don't feel good enough and don't I'm strong enough to endure everything that is going on, E-Eddie, I'm sorry-" your sentence was cut off by Eddie kissing you with reassurance, "I know you're trying your best, Y/N, but don't over exert yourself trying, okay... your too important to me" Eddie hugged you tightly.
After that was a comfortable silence, "You should rest; you look like you are tired, babe."
"No, I have to," Eddie's finger pressed to your lips to motion you to stop talking, "Nonsense, some rest won't hurt you, Y/N."
"I guess so," you muttered.
You left the studio with Eddie and went to his trailer; you were currently on his bed laying on his lay, him playing with your hair, as you voiced your problems to him; he was a really understanding guy, and you were thanking god that you met him, and he was your own boyfriend, people were wrong about him being a freak, he's just a guy getting through life.
"I-i feel like I won't do good at all." you looked up to see his face.
"Babe, you're the Y/N Sinclair, you can do anything you want, and I believe in what you do" Eddie held your face and nuzzled it.
"Thank you, Ed, for being with me" you got up from his lap and hugged him enjoying his warmth and presence, wishing you could stay like that together with him.
╰┈➤ A Few days later
It is the day of your recital. The day you were practicing your ass for, the day to show them all what you can do.
You were in your costume, breathing in and out, a bit hesitant about the outcome.
Fiddling your thumbs, thinking about everything, your heart was beating out of your chest, butterflies in your stomach.
You opened the curtain slightly, looking at the people in the crowd and the judges; seeing your family made you feel better, but you were still anxious.
You felt a sudden tap on your shoulders; you flinched to see it was Eddie, but how did he get backstage.
"Eddie, you scared me" you rush to hug him; you were glad he was here, there to support you.
"You thought I would miss your dance performance, princess" he hugged you back and kissed your face.
"I'm so glad you're here, Ed!" you smiled with glee.
"2 mins to showtime, Y/N," one of the directors yelled.
With Eddie here, you were less anxious than before, but you had to perform; you were tense.
Eddie held your face; you were looking at him, "Y/n, you're going to do great, and I know you're going to do great, and rock that fucking dance floor." Eddie kissed you on the forehead and looked at you.
You looked at him with awe, taken back at his words, "I will," before you walk to your position.
"..And Y/N," he yelled at you; you glanced back at him
"Knock them dead," he smiled; it seems you just needed that boost to surge your confidence.
This was definitely going to be a core memory.

rewrote hana's bio! i'm not putting it up officially yet (it'll be up once i get a theme happening and whatnot) but i WILL put it here for people who wanna look! it's largely the same as the one on her slides document, except expanded into more of a proper prose format (i suppose?) and makes reference to worldbuilding concepts which i have developed since originally writing her bio :)
Hana Morishita was born on the 1st of April 20XX to Takuya and Saki Morishita, joining sister Ami as the youngest child of the household.
Theirs was a home of strict Christian values: attend Church every Sunday, follow the teachings of the Bible so that you shall be accepted into heaven like all the other decent, God-loving folk. As a child, this was all Hana knew, and she was happy living her life this way growing up.
It was thanks to a camping trip at the tender age of four that began to lead Hana off the beaten path.
The trip itself had been a standard one, a holiday shared between the Morishitas and some friends from church. It was during a walk through the woods that Hana - who was always happy to follow along with the people she loved - was separated from the group. The crying child, desperate to be reunited with her family, only managed to wander further and further away, lost and confused as she was in her state of distress.
What caused her crying to cease was a sight unlike any other - a spider-like creature with more arms, legs and eyes than she could count, taller than the tallest man. Its movements were disjointed, and it was easily able to bend and change its shape to suit the geometry of the land as it pleased. Such a sight would have had life-altering effects on an adult. A child of such a young age, however, is still learning about life and the world around them, and thus are not affected in the same way.
Hana was soon found by her mother, but something seemed off about her; a lost child, not crying, not terrified, and a change in demeanour in the otherwise bright and happy child. She was taken back to the track with the rest of the group but, when she looked back to see the creature one last time, it could no longer be seen.
The changes in Hana’s demeanour were not permanent, and she does not remember the events of this day in the long run.
Like anyone growing and learning about the world, Hana went through a number of different interests, but there were a few that stuck, but relevantly for now, her love of song and dance, which she picked up during her early schooling years and continued throughout them. Her love of such things was so great that Hana, at the age of 16, went against the grain of suggested professions from her parents, such as following in the footsteps of the lawyer-in-training Ami, and successfully auditioned to become an idol. Her parents, who did (and continue to) not understand the true value of artists, frowned upon this decision and warned against it. Hana was set on her dream, however, and ignored their words.
Fame was found quickly for Hana. At the age of 17, only some months after her successful audition, Hana’s debut single, Sugar Rush, was released and well received throughout the pop-loving community. She rocketed to stardom faster than anyone could have ever imagined - though her parents still did not approve of this path in life, believing God would not condone her choices. This continued to go ignored by Hana.
Whilst on tour to promote both herself (the idol who goes by the stage name Miyu) and her new album some months later, Hana stumbled upon an odd curio shop purporting to be a supplier of horrors - another one of those lifelong interests Hana had held on to for so many years. Though it was dark and murky and the smoke almost had Hana coughing up her lungs, Hana decided to peruse the wares, finally settling on a leather bound tome with no writing on either cover or spine, purchasing it on a whim.
It was in her hotel room that she opened the book, finding written inside a language she could only hazard a guess as being Latin - though other parts were in a language that was clearly not of human origin. Hana believed it to be just a bit of fun and games, written by an author with a penchant for that kind of thing. As she fell asleep that night, however, she could not get the purported spells about which she read out of her mind.
For the remainder of her tour, Hana did not open the book, though not once was she able to stop thinking about it (save, of course, to focus on her performances). It was after the tour, in the comfort of her own home, that Hana opened the book once more and found a rather simple sounding spell, conjure darkness. Much to her surprise, after chanting the requisite phrase, her home went completely dark, light being snuffed out as though it had never been there to begin with; the spell had worked.
Three months passed. After her success with the conjure darkness spell, Hana became more and more enthralled with her book, learning all that she could about the spells inside, along with purchasing more tomes with even more spells and magic - specifically dark magic - practices. As her own skills advanced, though, she couldn’t get the original book out of her head and the language within which was of unknown origin.
After much investigation and searching, Hana found a group who were able to answer her questions. She had been correct in her assumptions of the language not being one created by humans; rather, she discovered it to be the text of the Elder Gods, with her book in particular relating to the very god they worshipped, named Vh’thra. They explained their god to her - that Vh’thra was the deity of death and rebirth, one of eight in a pantheon known as La Cour de la Lune, or The Luna Tribunal - and, without giving it much thought, Hana decided to join the cult; after all, she had spent her whole life worshipping another god and following another religion just because she had been told to. She was indoctrinated into the cult and began following the cult’s teachings without question.
Despite her career as an idol, teaching herself dark magic practices and her cult activities, Hana completed schooling with high grades. Although university was an option open to her and urged upon her by her parents, Hana decided to continue her current life path.
In the present day, at age 22, Hana continues to juggle her idol by day, dark magician/cultist by night lifestyle. Her practices and beliefs are kept hidden from all, particularly those closest to her, lest it ruin her career; likewise, her career is kept secret from those who worship Vh’thra or any other Elder God, knowing that these people (who she knows little to nothing about personally) are not necessarily ones who should be trusted.
It is not out of nihilism that she wishes to aid the cult in one day summoning their revered god, at which time she will supposedly bring an end to all things in our dimension. In fact, she believes it is out of a desire for knowledge and to do something interesting that she pursues such things. The reality is that the truth stems back to when Hana was four years old and the long forgotten encounter with a creature of many arms and eyes, which did not obey the laws of physics as we humans understand them, which has drawn Hana to the strange, the unknown and the eldritch…

Tumblr media
There are so many well-executed music videos that are considered timeless. From the greats of Aaliyah to DMX, these artists have never fallen short to deliver out-of-the-box visuals.
Here are some of the music videos that we think are most memorable!
Tell us what’s your favorite memorable music video!
Like TV One on Facebook and be sure to follow us on Instagram and Twitter.
1. “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)” by Missy Elliott
From the iconic garbage suit, to the fish eye view Missy Elliott’s “The Rain” music video will forever go down in history as one of the most memorable music videos of all time!
2. “On and On” by Erykah Badu
The moment was far more than just a very loose interpretation of (or homage to) the film The Color Purple; it marked the start of Erykah Badu’s tyrannical rule over all neo-soul performers for the ensuing ten years.
3. “Remember the Time” by Michael Jackson
“Remember the Time” isn’t just a music video, this was a short film with a lot cameos of several heavy-hitters in the entertainment industry, such as Eddie Murphy, Iman,  Tommy “Tiny” Lister and Magic Johnson.
Michael Jackson was master of giving fans top-notch visuals as he extracted a genius story plot, dance numbers, theatrics, and etc. from a 4 minute song.
It’s truly a testament to how talented of a performer
4. “No Scrubs” by TLC
After seeing TLC’s “No Scrubs” video, we all wanted to live in the famous future space station!
5. “What’s My Name?” by DMX
If you ever wanted to get hyped up while watching a hip-hop music video, “What’s My Name” by DMX will surely get you riled up!
6. “Try Again” by Aaliyah
The late Aaliyah really became a futuristic pop star when “Try Again” was released.
From the video’s setting of  a hall of mirrors, and a room with a shallow pool to Romeo Must Die star, Jet-Li cameo and Timbaland’s adlibs, and Aaliyah’s signature look this music video captured millions and further pushed Aaliyah into stardom.
7. “Pass The Courvoisier Part II” by Busta Rhymes
Rapper Busta Ryhmes is known to have out-of-the-box music video concepts and “Pass the Courvoisier Part II” is one of the most memorable music videos of the early 2000s.
This music video will go down in music video history due to Mr. T, Spliff Star, Mo’Nique, Kym Whitley, and Jamie Foxx made cameo appearances in the video, which was influenced by the glorious films, Harlem Nights and Rush Hour 2.
8. “Doo Wop (That Thing)” by Lauryn Hill
The music video of “Doo-Wop” by Lauryn Hill will forever live in our hearts.
We can’t get enough of the concept of showing two different generations of men and women, to the singer’s message: “Don’t be a hard rock when you really are a gem!”
9. “All I Need” by Method Man ft. Mary J. Blige
If you’re a hip-hop fan doesn’t matter where you are, you’ll always sing and dance to “All I Need” by Method Man ft. Mary J. Blige!
It is a classic 90s bop!
10. “Roses” by Outkast
Words can’t describe how we feel about Outkast’s “Roses” music video.
From it’s clever references to West Side Story and Grease we get to see how Andre 3000 and Big Boi come together and create this amazing visual for their double-album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.
Were you a Speakerboxxx or a Love Below fan?

TV Partners: Wasteland Impression
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Designer’s Reflection: Wasteland Impression
Obtained: Sea of Fantasy, Gleam
Rarity: SR
Attribute: Green/Fresh
Awakened Suit: Wasteland Memory
Story - transcripts from Designer’s Reflection
Chapter 1 - Genius’ Stardom Dream
Chapter 2 - Quasi-Star’s New Job
Chapter 3 - Shining Loner
Story - summary
Vivian is one of the best reporters at the company. She’s one of the hardest working employees there. Everyone is impressed with her work.
So, why is she not a TV star yet?
After six months at her latest job, she asks her boss if she can go on camera. He tells her to wait, not to rush into things. She quits then and there. Vivian wants to be a star now, and she is tired of working “backstage jobs.”
Without any solid plan, she contacts the job hunter and hires them to find a job for her. Meanwhile, she pampers herself and gets herself ready to shine on camera. The job hunter calls back shortly after, and they say that a big TV network in Apple is looking for someone to work for their channel.
She assumes it’s for the News Channel, and she agrees to the interview - turns out it was an opening for the Documentary Channel. They need a reporter for their Miraland Geographic documentary on Wasteland. Vivian signs on as a reporter... although she hopes to change it to make it more of a reality show.
Vivian meets Jiang Beixi at the airport. The two plus the producer are the only ones on the team. Beixi packs a simple bag; Vivian lugs three full suitcases behind her. During their flight, the two of them go over ideas. Vivian suggests hyping the local cultures up and sensationalizing them.
Beixi says no cultural appropriation. “Their songs, dances, and languages are sacred,” she says.
But everything Beixi wants to focus on are boring, academic parts of Wasteland.
It’s going to be a long journey for these two women.
Connections
-This is Part 1 of an unofficial trilogy surrounding Miraland Geographic, the other two being TV Partners’ Poem of the Wild and Vivian’s Summer Sunflowers, in that order.
-Jiang Beixi is sisters with Jiang Xitong. They’re both strong academics, and they both would rather focus on informative lectures than appealing to the audience (much to everyone’s dismay).
-Here, Vivian still focuses on fame and stardom when it comes to reporting, even though she’s very skilled. By the time the trilogy concludes in her Reflection for Summer Sunflowers, she has learned to appreciate Wasteland for its true beauty, while also finding a way to hype it up in a way that’s respectful to the culture.
Fun Facts
-Even though Vivian dreams too big with her jobs, this Reflection still shows workplace sexism that a lot of people face. The bosses praise her talent, declare she’s the best employee there, but then refuse to promote her.
-Whereas Vivian cares about appearances and popularity in a show, Beixi focuses more on information and detail. They don’t come to a full agreement on anything until Part 3 of this trilogy.
-For the longest time, this was the only suit Indexed under View of Wasteland. The other two suits currently there, Poem of the Wild and Spirit of Anuwa, didn’t appear until Jan 2020 for the SSR event.

Elvis
From his rise to unprecedented stardom, rock'n'roll icon Elvis Presley maintained a complicated relationship with his egomaniac manager, Colonel Tom Parker, for 20 years, to his tragic death.
I am someone who has loved Elvis's music ever since I was a little girl watching Leo and Stich. From his powerful voice to the social controversy surrounding him, doing a proper biopic was no small order. Thankfully, Elvis brings the King of rock'n'roll to life masterfully. Baz Luhrmann brings his own directorial style to Elvis's life, which makes it a standout among musical biopics. However, Lurhmann does not go over the top like in many of his previous works. The story being told is incredibly powerful and tragic. It perfectly captures why Elvis is a generational icon that will go down in history as one of the greatest musicians who ever lived. With that stated it does have the standard flaws of biopics. Major life events were not fleshed out and compressed, so these events are rushed. But overall, this is a well-done biopic.
Elvis is absolutely going to be swarmed with Oscar nominations for its performances. Austin Butler has absolutely secured himself an Oscar nomination for his performances as Elvis Presley. He nailed the King immaculately. From his voice to his dance movies, I thought I was watching Elvis on the screen at points. Butler really deserves all the praise and glory for his performances. Tom Hanks's performance was interesting, to say the least. The acting itself was fine, but his weird accent just felt really out of place, especially when you listen to interviews with Parker. The remaining performances worked perfectly for the film.
It would not be the wildest thing to think that the majority of the budget of this film went into song licensing, because at some points it did feel quite cheap. You could tell when they were filming on a real set because it looked really good, however, you can tell they were in front of a green screen. Some of the music choices were really out of place in the film. The film is overall, very well shot. The cinematography of the concerts was incredible. With all that stated, Elvis is a standard biopic with an Oscar-worthy performance that honors the King of rock'n'roll.
I am giving Elvis, a B+.

How Player Performance Influences Card Values in Sports Trading Card Games
Tumblr media
In the realm of sports trading card games, where collectors and enthusiasts alike delve into the world of cardboard heroes, the value of a card isn't merely determined by its rarity or design. Rather, it's a dynamic interplay between the player's on-field performance and the fluctuating market sentiments. As players dribble, swing, or score on the field, the value of their corresponding trading cards can soar or plummet in response. Let's delve into this intricate relationship and explore the fascinating impact of player performance on card values.
In the fast-paced world of sports, moments of brilliance can define careers and send ripples through the trading card market. A last-minute goal, a record-breaking run, or a game-winning shot can elevate a player's status overnight, consequently skyrocketing the value of their trading cards. Consider the frenzy surrounding a rookie player who exceeds all expectations in their debut season. Suddenly, their rookie card becomes a coveted treasure among collectors, with its value mirroring the player's meteoric rise to stardom.
Conversely, the harsh realities of sports can swiftly deflate the value of trading cards. A string of poor performances, injuries, or off-field controversies can tarnish a player's reputation, leading to a corresponding dip in card values. It's the unwavering truth that in sports trading card games, as in the sporting world itself, fortunes can change in the blink of an eye.
One need only look at the parallels between real-life sports events and the fluctuations in card values to grasp the depth of this relationship. A standout performance in a championship game can lead to an immediate surge in demand for a player's cards, as collectors rush to commemorate the moment. Similarly, a slump in form can trigger a rapid decline in card prices, as investors seek to offload their assets before their value plummets further.
The digital age has further amplified the impact of player performance on card values, with social media platforms serving as breeding grounds for speculation and analysis. A viral highlight reel or a trending hashtag can fuel widespread interest in a particular player, propelling their card values to unprecedented heights. Conversely, negative publicity or a publicized downturn in form can trigger a cascade of sell-offs, as investors rush to mitigate their losses in real-time.
Beyond individual performances, the collective success of a team can also influence card values, adding another layer of complexity to the equation. A championship-winning team often sees a surge in demand for its players' cards, as collectors seek to immortalize the moment of glory. Conversely, a team's failure to meet expectations can lead to a downturn in card values across the board, as disillusioned fans and investors reevaluate their allegiances.
However, it's essential to recognize that the relationship between player performance and card values is not solely dictated by on-field success or failure. External factors such as market trends, player endorsements, and even cultural phenomena can all play a role in shaping card values. For instance, the emergence of a new gaming platform or the endorsement of a popular brand can drive up demand for a player's cards, independent of their on-field performance.
In conclusion, the impact of player performance on card values in sports trading card games is a multifaceted phenomenon, shaped by a myriad of factors both within and beyond the realm of sports. From the exhilarating highs of a championship victory to the crushing lows of a losing streak, the fortunes of players and their corresponding trading cards are inextricably linked in a delicate dance of supply and demand. As collectors and investors navigate this ever-changing landscape, one thing remains certain: in the world of sports trading card games, the game is always in play.
So, whether you're a seasoned collector or a casual enthusiast, remember to keep a keen eye on the field – because in the world of sports trading card games, every play has the potential to change the game.
