Di quattro lunghissimi giorni in cui sono stato ad Amsterdam, soltanto l’ultimo è stato il giorno in cui mi sono reso conto dove fossi. L’unico giorno in cui sono stato da solo, alle 9 di mattina, a camminare con la pioggia e le cuffie sulla Damrak.

La canzone che stavo ascoltando era “Trust”, di Ane Brun, che avevo casualmente scoperto il giorno prima in uno Starbucks, dove lavorava questa cassiera di nome Chloe.

Chloe aveva un sorriso magnifico. Trasudava gentilezza in ogni singola parola. E mentre camminavo, un po’ infatuato in qualche modo, mi chiedevo che vita facesse, se fosse contenta del suo lavoro, dei suoi affetti, o se semplicemente come me, spesso si poneva domande un po’ troppo negative.

Chissà come stai e cosa fai in questo momento, Chloe.
