The Return of Cybotron
Juan Atkins Revives the Cybotron Project
Maintain The Golden Ratio — Cybotron (2023, Tresor) is the Detroit-based trio/band from which 'Magic' Juan Atkins infused elements of p-funk, late-stage krautrock, new wave, and industrial into this long-running project. Their debut, Enter is now referred to as the album that launched (or invoked) the techno genre in 1982. After a few singles following Enter, Juan Atkins parted ways to become a solo act with Model 500, exploring techno/electro-dance further with No UFOs in 1985.
Maintain The Golden Ratio marks a 30-year return to form, with Atkins reviving the Cybotron project and applying a fresh take in the post-techno age. The rest is history! Maintain is out now, along with its B-side, "The Golden Ratio," on Tresor.

Cybotron - Cybotron
The debut album by Cybotron, not to be confused with band of the same name that made the album Enter, is an electronic album that is reminiscent to me of Tangerine Dream's music of the mid 70s(the same time period of this album). This album has some weird album art that I don't like, but the music itself is great. My favorite song is Sonic Overide.

A-T-3 808 Cybotron - Clear
He sings "Clear up your mind, clear your behind" right? I'm not imagining that?
The breakout track and one of my favourites from Detroit techno pioneers Juan Atkins and Rik Davis aka 3070. It's actually Jose “Animal” Diaz's remix that was the hit in the same way FK's mix of Dinosaur L's Go Bang was.
If I remember correctly I shared a Rik Davis interview last year when I posted Cosmic Cars so here's an interview Juan Atkins did with DJ History https://daily.redbullmusicacademy.com/2017/05/interview-juan-atkins
Atkins is using the Cybotron name again, a new record came out a few months ago
When I was young I liked the electro and rap records that were getting into the charts but I was also hearig stuff like Clear coming out of cars or various places, I found it exciting but it was on the fringes out of the reach of a nine year old. I had the same with acid house until I got to an age I was able to grab it. I still get that feeling every now and again especially with reggae vibrating out of somebodies window... what is this, where do I find it... I suppose I should use Shazam more but Shazam don't do dub plates
Oh and lastly I sing this when I'm doing housework "Clear up this place" in my best robot voice
