TW (IMPLIED) CHARACTER DEATH
TW BLOOD
(not graphic blood but I'll still tag it just in case)
Tumblr media
@naffeclipse
Might want to turn up your brightness for this one fellas
This is Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Extra
(might end up being three parts actually lol)
(my script is like 3-4 pages long so....)
Long post under the cut
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I had all and then most of you, some and now none of you.
Take me back to the night we met.
I don't know what I'm supposed to do. Haunted by the ghost of you
Oh, take me back to the night we met
- The night we met by Lord Hurdon
This comic stems from my need for them to have a satisfying conclusion OKAY
I mean it's bittersweet but at least they make up (to a degree)
Explanation below (kind of spoiling next part) (kindof almost not really idk):
After being dangerously injured by a cryptid, Vanessa managed to contact the one person she wished she could have said goodbye to the most.
I'll explain more about why Vanessa is the way she is in the next part but without spoiling, Vanessa has grown a little since the last time she saw y/n. That, in combination with the fact she's bleeding out and taking on the mentality "fuck it why not", has led her to this decision.
This comic kinda goes off of the idea she gets an inkling of doubt in her mind about whether y/n is still "alive".
The next part will go into it more but that doubt mixed with her resolve leads her to at least try.
She tries to call y/n. They don't answer. She sends a text and no longer has the strength to hold on to her phone.
I don't think she'll be completely resolved to Vampires having actual consciousness but in her last moments she's also just wishing for her friend back. Her human friend. The one who has been dead all this time. Vanessa has a history with seeing ghosts so
It's worth a try
I'll let you decide which phone of y/n's she tried to contact.
Assuming y/n unblocked her on their previous phone at some point
So yeah, Vanessa in this comic is going back and forth on whether this is y/n or not. She's bleeding out, so does it really matter?
It's almost selfish how much she wishes to be free of the ache in her chest. The fact in the end, she couldn't free her friend.
You'll see more of this in the next part. I don't want to spoil it too much.
She doesn't wish to carry this burden of failing her friend. She reaches for a conclusion. She wants this to end well. She wants her friend to be okay. She wants to believe everything has worked out. She wants everyone she cares about to be okay without her.
She'll throw out her wish to the world. And hopefully, it'll come true.
She'll throw out her wish to you.
It is you.
Right?
I may have spoiled the next part a little bit oopsies
I just want to explain why Vanessa's different y'know
And y/n has their own conflicting emotions.
Even when things are a semblance of normal, it can't be. They are a vampire now. It tears them up inside.
But. Vanessa lets them touch her.
They've been afraid to do that. For the entirety of this reunion cut short.
She lets them touch her.
And again, Vanessa wouldn't be this way if... it weren't for a few somebodies.
But that's enough spoiling the next part.

Your honor.
Vampire y/n and Crush Depth y/n would be besties. Ignore the factors that make it impossible. They are painting each other's nails as they talk abt their boys and having a good time.
Vampire y/n: it doesn't taste like blood anymore???? Lucky!
Cd y/n: you had dark thoughts about your end until your Eclipse kissed you stupid and gave you hope?! MOOD
Vampire y/n: ✨ MOOD ✨
Fist bump
Oh gosh, Vampire Y/N and Crush Depth Y/N together is some kind of tea party.
Vampire Y/N: Why did you wait to drink the blood?
Crush Depth Y/N: I had a lot of other things on my mind. Like death.
Vampire Y/N: Oh. Yeah. But, you did drink it.
Crush Depth Y/N: Yeah. Eclipse kissed me with their mouth full of blood. I finally tried it.
Vampire Y/N: ...My Eclipsed helped me, too, just... not like that.
Crush Depth Y/N: You could ask them to try it with you if you're into that.
Vampire Y/N: I'm not.
Crush Depth Y/N: *shrugs* Suit yourself.

So given that I hadn't put much thought into my true form design when I first made it (distracted by "I want to draw a comic, not design a true form"), then seeing all the other gorgeous designs out there, the updated information we got in fic, and some good true form cuddles in that Valentine's chapter earlier, I decided to redesign my take of @naffeclipse's cryptid boys!
Toddler and Hunter for scale <3

Just think about it. @naffeclipse
Venessa gets a report from F.E.I. Venessa doesn't like the fact they get a mission so soon after their friend Y/N stops messaging. They clearly see them but never once respond and one day it all stops. But work is work and she can only hope Y/N is fine. Karma at its finest IMO. She checked the email and a few sources. A monster of some kind clearly, no mistaking it for a human. Kills known or unknown everyday villains. All kinds of people who harm kids. The rumors have been going around for a few months now. The person is found dead, heart missing but their blood is gone as well. Maybe even a list of crimes left behind. Sounds like an extra hungry Vampire to her. She comes up to a town and maybe even finds Y/N’s truck and signs they are ok. The hunting gear might be gone though. Or maybe its just some of it. Y/N’s clearly out so she will come back later, maybe Y/N is even looking themselves. She thinks at least. Que looking for the monster. Takes forever but oh shit that's a demon. Radar is going all kinds of off. And something else that seems to not move much. Keeps going towards the second blimp and hears something odd. Feeding of some kind? Did the demon have a child or someone they are teaching? Can they even do that!? Or is there another part to this? Turning the corner Venessa sees something she never thought would or could happen. Y/N isn't human that's clear enough. The feeding stops as they both stare at each other. Something is right behind her she knows it but she can’t stop looking. At least not before someone makes a move.

I had just finished @naffeclipse’s “The Lost Episode” and couldn’t not draw something for it. The episode is part of the main series “Cryptid Sightings” and you should definitely go check out this thrill of a read. I swear this story has me wrapped around its monstrously clawed fingers.
I had belatedly realized I had drew the scene a little wrong, hence Moon sitting beside the bed and not in it. I was reading pretty late so I must’ve just read it wrong TT

I finished chapter 15 of Cryptid Sightings last night and realized I may not have the time to draw for it, but I do have time to ramble about it. And oh boy do I have a lot to ramble about.
@naffeclipse, prepare yourself. I’ve been too scared to ramble on here for the most part, but today’s the day. Here are some things I’ve noticed/interpreted on the last chapter. No obligation to read all this, of course, because it is… a lot. Apologies for chunky paragraphs.
I. Originally, Sun/Moon thought it would be a mercy to leave their true nature out of the hunter’s field of vision. But now that they’ve seen the toll it’s taken on the hunter—how much harm half-truths and secrets can do—they see it more so as a detriment. They’re itching to tell the truth, because now, the hunter knows there’s a truth to be told—feels hurt because of the fact. And the guilt of hiding that truth from them is beginning to wear on the fear of them fleeing. At least in revealing their nature, they would have the ability to hope the hunter could understand. But where they both stand now is a cold war. Sun/Moon don’t know the full extent of what the hunter would do if they found out; would they cry, scream, lash out, accept? And the hunter, meanwhile, doesn’t know the full extent of the secret they keep, just how painful it will be to their ears. Both are kept in the dark, and both are caught in a disquieted stalemate. The moment the safety of secrecy drew blood, it was no longer a viable option.
II. The way the story is setting up to become, the reveal will be vastly different from what I previously thought—and vastly different from the one portrayed in the Lost Episode. In that reveal, it was a statement of, “so you are a demon.” But with this, it is instead a statement of, “so you are a demon.” In earlier chapters, the thought never occurred to the hunter that their friend could be a demon—at least, no thought that wasn’t immediately cast out as overly skeptical or ridiculous. The poltergeist’s odd words, the dark reflections in the water or their detector—they were puzzle pieces that the hunter never thought to put together, was never pushed to put together. But now, with Lambert openly accusing Sun/Moon of it, the hunter is forced to pay that idea mind. They’re now faced with a person who sees less ridiculousness in the notion that the animatronic is a demon and more ridiculousness in the hunter’s aversion to testing it, pouring more holy water or performing an exorcism. The hunter is forced to question whether or not their friend is a cryptid, something they never would have done had this time come sooner. The reveal that Sun/Moon is a demon will seem less of an off-the-wall shock, and more a confirmation of an already present fear.
III. With this new chapter, it is also becoming more and more apparent why the hunter hasn’t figured it out yet. Because it is only partially due to their inability to put together those puzzle pieces. For the most part, it is because they don’t want to. All the evidence is there: the odd behaviors of other cryptids, the detector, the mysterious substance leaking from metal sockets, the secrets. And all it would take to prove or disprove it would be a little bit of salt, or silver, or holy water. All it would take, as Lambert pointed out, is an exorcism. But the hunter would rather live in avoidance than risk the confirmation of that truth. They would prefer to live not knowing the truth than live knowing that is it. Because to the hunter, it is either that Sun/Moon are their friend, or they are a demon. To them, they could not be both—would not be both. So, while in avoidance, they instead use Sun/Moon’s kindness as evidence to disprove the notion that they are anything more than they’ve been led to believe. They think of their sweet words, their soft touches, the fact that they themself are still alive. They dread the possibility that their friend is a demon, because in their eyes, “friend” and “demon” are mutually exclusive. It’s either that Sun/Moon are are not a demon, or that they seek to manipulate the hunter. And they fear finding out which one is it.
Anyways. I could probably come up with more to say, but these are the things that have been bouncing around in my brain most. Thank you for listening to my incoherent ramblings!! It will probably happen again

hey gamer boy, how would you rewrite the dover demon episode of lost tapes?
wow this ask is so unexpected omg hi, (i'm kidding, i know this is me, i sent this to myself b/c i think i'm funny)
anyway thanks for asking, me from an hour ago!
okay so first of all. what is lost tapes?
lost tapes is a mockumentary/found footage horror series that aired on animal planet from 2008-2010, in that time where a lot of tv shows just lied to people for fun. there were disclaimers with each episode that stated that each episode was a fictional story, but also each episode tried so fucking hard to prove the existence of every cryptid they talked about, to the point of interviewing experts and framing their responses to every question as Proof.
(side-note one of my favorite guests they ever had on the show was this biologist lady who seemed super excited and enthusiastic about being there, and i imagine they asked her to talk about how it WOULD or COULD work if the creatures were real, and then they just. took out the hypotheticals from her answers. this is conjecture, of course, but idk i liked her energy.)
each episode of lost tapes follows basically the same formula: characters are introduced, characters do something to piss off Cryptid Of The Week, characters get violently slaughtered by Cryptid Of The Week, and somehow the camera footage they shot of the incident is recovered and released to the public.
there are a couple of episodes that break this basic formula, and in my opinion those are the best episodes of the whole series. (the mothman one is top-tier b/c no one dies).
lost tapes is not a good show, and i say that as someone who actively enjoys it for the most part. however, i think some episodes of it have the POTENTIAL to be good. one of those episodes is the dover demon episode.
okay now i'm gonna go under the cut to talk about the episode and how i would rewrite it
so the dover demon episode's premise is that it centers around a down-on-their-luck group of friends who, in a desperate bid to earn a bit of cash and notoriety, decide to film a hoax and capitalize on the craze around cryptid sightings. things go wrong, the monster kills and eats them all, etc. etc.
i'm not gonna go too much into the episode itself and what i think it does well vs what it does poorly, i'm just gonna dive right into the changes i'd make.
Change One: The characters are characters and not just monster fodder
Okay this is probably an obvious one, and in a show like Lost Tapes it's hard to get people attached to the characters when you know they're going to die at the end anyway. The show's formula works against it because it ultimately makes the horror ineffective, in my opinion--there's no reason to give a shit about any of the characters because they're all bland, one-dimensional, and guaranteed to die.
But anyway, I think this episode in particular would be more effective if I had a reason to care about the characters. Because as they're presented... they're all pretty hard to like, and even outside of that I don't care. Literally all I can remember about them off the top of my head, despite having rewatched this episode multiple times, is that the main character's wife is the only one I found remotely entertaining and interesting, and that's just because I think the actress playing her did a great job.
(Mainly there's this moment I love in the episode where she has a look on her face that I can only describe as "this poor woman's husband has tried unsuccessfully to make money exclusively through scams and she loves him and wants to be supportive but she already knows this is going to fail." All of that conveyed in one grimace.)
Anyway, that being said, I'm looking right now at a list of the characters in this episode, and first of all I'm amazed they have names because I forgot their names. Second of all, I'm going to list them all and give a quick summary of how I would write them, making as few changes as possible.
Protagonist: Chad Hurliss. Chad is a construction worker who was recently laid off and is struggling to make ends meet. He genuinely loves his wife and cares about his friends, and he would never do anything to put them in danger. He's lived in Dover, Massachusetts his whle life and is intimately familiar with the local legend of the Dover Demon. Chad is the one who decides to try and fake the hoax, but it's clearer he's doing this out of some kind of desperation more than just a desire to make a quick buck off gullible strangers.
Shannah Hurliss. Shannah is Chad's wife--I don't think the episode would have time to go into how they met, but it should be clear they actually love and care about each other. There's some strain on their marriage as of late, though, because Shannah has to provide for both of them now that Chad's lost his job, and the two are struggling to make ends meet. Nevertheless, Shannah cares about Chad and believes in him, but she also isn't going to just go along with everything he says. She won't hesitate to voice her opinion, but she isn't cruel and does actively support him and want to have a happy life with him. Shannah initially is against the hoax idea, but she decides to help Chad because she believes it will work and they will be able to have a better life.
Royce Best. Royce has a personality and isn't just a mean grumpy dude with no brain cells. Jokes aside, Royce has been Chad's best friend for many years, and even if the full backstory isn't explained, it's clear they have a close familiarity with each other and trust each other. Additionally, Royce has a lot more experience as an outdoorsman, and so he's brought on to help film the hoax not as an actor playing a monster, but to make sure nothing bad happens while they're out in the wilderness. Royce is the one who insists on bringing a gun for self-defense.
Glenn Diffy. Glenn also has a personality. Jokes aside, Glenn has been friends with the group for a long time as well, and because Shannah needs some development, I'll say that Glenn was her friend first. He has a good head on his shoulders and has done his best to support Shannah and Chad over the years, and he's brought along to help film the hoax because he has some experience with filmmaking. He doesn't like the idea and makes it clear that he doesn't think it will work, but he decides to give it a shot anyway and also helps with making sure the details are accurate so the hoax is believable.
Change Two: The characters know what the fuck they're doing
This might seem nitpicky but why does no one in the Lost Tapes universe know anything about the cryptids? Like I'm not expecting them to be experts, but especially in this episode where the characters are literally trying to film a fake cryptid sighting, it feels weird that they don't know what they're talking about. Like, yeah, it's acknowledged that Royce's "Dover Demon costume" is unconvincing because it looks like a shitty Bigfoot costume, so it's at least called out, but like. Idk I think it'd be neat if there was more effort here.
If they're trying to make a convincing hoax video they can profit off of, why would they not try as hard as possible to make it realistic?
Also, this might be on me, but in my (admittedly limited) research I can't find anything that suggests the Dover Demon is reportedly violent. I think that should be reflected in their hoax video as well--rather than pretending Shannah was attacked, make it some other kind of strange encounter.
Change Three (the big one): The Dover Demon isn't there.
Okay so this throws out the format of the show entirely and also the premise, but hear me out. The story of this episode in particular is SIGNIFICANTLY more interesting if the Dover Demon either isn't real or otherwise has nothing to do with what happens here. In the episode, things go start to go wrong without the Dover Demon's involvement, and I think having the monster turn out to be real at the end and also kill them all feels... cheap and tacked on at the end.
So, I think the Dover Demon shouldn't have anything to do with the fates of the people making the hoax. At most, maybe it does appear, but it never harms any of them. I know the shot of Glenn testing the night vision on the camera and catching the Dover Demon sitting on a rock behind him and watching him is Iconic™ and makes good trailer bait, so maybe that can stay, but other than that it has no involvement.
Everything that goes wrong should be the result of something beyond their control or making mistakes. As it stands, the episode feels like it's just throwing characters to the slaughter with the vague notion that they should be laughed at because they're so cruel and stupid as to profit off of the idea that cryptids are real when they don't truly believe, in a universe where they have no reason to believe cryptids ARE real.
(Not trying to argue the ethics of spreading misinformation and profiting off of it, I'm just saying I think these changes could make this story more compelling and well-rounded.)
Okay now that I've outlined all of those things here's a rough summary of how I think this episode would go if I rewrote it:
In late 2008 during the Great Recession in the U.S., Chad Hurliss, a construction worker who has recently been laid off, is struggling to make ends meet. One day, prompted by news of other successful hoaxes about other legends in other states, Chad decides as a last-ditch effort to make some money for himself and his wife that he's going to create convincing fake footage of the Dover Demon, Massachusetts's very own cryptid. Though she is reluctant at first, his wife Shannah agrees to help, and they recruit their friends Glenn Diffy and Royce Best to help produce the video.
Things go well at first, but as the sun goes down, a few small mistakes on the part of the group spiral and grow worse and worse until the group is in legitimate danger. At some point, Chad accidentally shoots Royce--not fatally, but bad enough that he needs immediate medical attention. Making things worse, the group thinks they may not be alone in these woods, and in their desperation to escape what they think is hunting them, they only make things worse for themselves.
Okay, I'm not sure how exactly I'd want this to end, but I think Royce would ultimately die--probably not immediately from his injury, but perhaps from infection. Whether or not the others die, I'm not sure! I think it could be interesting either way, but I guess to keep with the formula of the show maybe they do ultimately die. However, though the group may think they're being hunted by the Dover Demon (or something similar), ultimately it becomes clear that this wasn't the case, or it's left ambiguous.
--
Okay this got really long and I have a really bad headache so I'm gonna go lie down now whoops. Anyway no one asked for this, but I delivered anyway.

It’S DONE
Well besides the extras and memes I’ll include in another part that. I don’t know when I’ll finish. But stay tuned I’m gonna go ham. I can't wait to share the memes especially loll
Fair warning my rambling here gets a little all over the place so if I repeat myself. Sorry lol.
If I knew how to include a second read more I would
anyway , I think I've made this comic lighter towards the end of this comic (both on purpose with the backgrounds and story lol) but this ending I hope is a combination of bittersweet and hopeful. Y/n gets to have a new family and connection to humanity that I think would be beneficial.
How they’d take finding out Y/n is a VAMPIRE is it’s own can of worms that you can decide for yourself how would go down. Best outcome is that Y/n continues to watch over the generations influenced by Vanessa and her family during their immortality.
Gregory and Cassie still haven’t been introduced in the Naff’s Cryptid Sightings universe by the time I post this, so if/when they are their characterization most likely will be different. And ggy likely won’t be placed in the au. Which is completely understandable! Tho an alternative path following canon fnaf more with 3 star fam, ggy n such is a concept I LOVE in the Cryptid Sightings world! I’ll go into it more ltr
Greg and Cass already have cryptid parents but now they get Uncle Eclipse and Uncle/Aunt/Pibling/Auncle/Etc Y/n. And Y/n gets to have one more purpose in protecting these ppl they will grow to care a lot about that knew Vanessa when Y/n couldn’t connect with her. Lots of sharing stories abt Vanessa occurs.
I’ll joke abt this in the extras & memes part but I think It would be so funny if Y/n can one moment be depressed and then Eclipse mentions Cass & Greg and they’re like “RIGHT I NEED TO PLAN HOW IM GONNA SPOIL THEM FOR THEIR BIRTHDAY” or “I LOST TO GREGORY LAST TIME IT WON’T HAPPEN AGAIN” or “I NEED TO CHECK UP ON THEM AND MAKE SURE THEY’RE ACTUALLY RESTING AFTER THEY FOUGHT THAT CRYPTID”
Eclipse is simultaneously grateful they have a new source of motivation, they haven’t seen you like this in a while, and he doesn’t dislike Gregory or Cassie. BUT since Cassie and Gregory are still Cryptid Hunters, it isn’t IDEAL lmao
On to elaborating on the comic: I love 3 star fam (by extension cassie) and Vanessa had growth offscreen so now her dying wish to y/n is like:
Nessie: hey. Make sure my kids (that aren't kids anymore) don't die ok cool cool
Sure Greg and Cass have Freddy and Roxy but between:
Demonic cryptids that have no experience being a human NOR a cryptid hunter human at that
Vs
Friend that might just be there still since if these cryptids could have humanity there's a chance my friend sending me memes that are so in character with their personality is ALSO still human despite being vampire and maybe ness & them could reconcile and Greg and Cass could finally meet the only person ness would have considered family and-
Nessie never would have considered y/n still having their humanity if it weren't for Freddy and by extension Roxy
And btw Ness would not have given her phone to y/n if she wasn't sure that y/n wouldn't hurt Greg and Cass.
She. Didn't expect y/n to go the extra mile and meet them in person. The phone would give y/n their contact information and all the photos of memories they missed out on
Y/n cries when they unlock ness's phone and Nessie still hadn't changed her password
The video she made that y/n sees at the end is when she was first entertaining the idea of y/n possibly still having their humanity, but still wasn’t sure. It was a video that she only ever planned on y/n seeing if she either died and/or she was sure y/n was still human in some regard. She wanted to leave y/n with something in that scenario.
Vanessa here meeting Vanessa in Cryptid Sightings and Lost episode canon would certainly be something. Vanessas from canon Cryptid Sightings would just. Not know how Vanessa got over it and neither does Ness here know
Also, there are some details for this canon divergence au that are completely settled to me and other details I don't have a solid idea for. Like, I'm not SET on how Nessie and Greg would meet, ness and Cass, if it would be at the same time, who would be doing the glitchtrapping.  Prob becuz some of those are still unclear in canon canon FNAF and others I'm just indecisive
I'll leave it a little loose, up in the air
Also the possession being done by the same cryptid wouldn’t be possible with Cryptid sighting’s universe rules so. I’m not gonna bother figuring out those details for this comic.
But I do love the idea of Nessie growing closer to Greg and Cass and at least Ness and Greg sharing a bond over dealing with Glitchtrap
Speaking of glitchtrapped GGY in cryptid au-
The wizards FAVORITE now being in same universe as demonic cryptids that would absolutely want to slaughter Glitchtrap for possessing a KID? Making him kill multiple people, including a kid his age? Tasty. Scrumptious. I want to make a separate post just thinking Abt how canon crew for cryptid sightings might react to GGY, especially Cryptid Sun & Moon/Eclipse. I'll save most of that rambling for that potential post since there's so much angst potential.
While im here, I’ll ask. Naff, how would Eclipse react to a child, possessed by a demonic cryptid, having killed other children? Or. Is that a spoiler since these characters could be introduced in a reunion work and whether Cassie gets possessed to mirror canon fnaf is still up in the air? 👀
@/puhpandas can be blamed for my brain rot of the GGY story and dr rabbit stuffs and the potential it could bring.
Tho I don't expect to see GGY in any continuations of cryptid sightings lol I don't know how that would work when cryptid sightings already has laid down rules for possession in that universe and Glitchtrap is already gone. I'll happily see what Gregory and Freddy are like when they (hopefully) appear in future continuations of cryptid sightings
But since this is canon divergence I can indulge in three star fam real quick
To follow canon canon FNAF (or at least the fanon built off of the scrapped security breach canon as well as what stayed in sb), Vanessa would be saved by Gregory and Freddy, I'm undecided if Cassie would join in sooner or later. Nessie would regardless have to stomach being around kids that remind her of her trauma since she can't just fully IGNORE them. Gregory would have no one since I love the angst of the theory he killed his loving family as GGY
So. Nessie would probably know that and it would make the situation hard.
Vanessa would grow a bond with Gregory and Freddy at some point, Gregory has a head start  due to. Y'know. Glitchtrap. Hard to not have some sort of connection to the kid that went through what you did too.
Anyway, Vanessa here would be saved by Gregory and Freddy to match up with canon. Or at least, the fanon I subscribe to for security breach since canon was lack luster and scrapped all the good ideas for Vanessa last minute.
Nessie and Gregory would have the shared experience of dealing with Glitchtrap trauma and Cassie gets roped, just like canon, with the whole Mimic situation. Then Nessie has two kids that she can't fully ignore but also can't stomach COMPLETELY being there for. Fun.
But since I adore 3 star fam too much, Vanessa is able to grow attached to Gregory like a big sister eventually (i adore big sis nessie dkljssfkld look at @/boringa55binch 's stuff you'll get ITTT)
When I'd imagine Cassie would be introduced, I bet Nessie would have a harder time with her around since what we've seen of Cassie in canon is only of her getting fooled. I bet Nessie would have a harder time around her for that reason.
But it's not like she COULD leave them completely alone since she's the one with the most cryptid hunting experience. And if these kids are SO INSISTENT about getting into trouble, fine. She owes them after all
I've been undecided if Cassie would be apart of the gang when Nessie is saved so that's up in the air for what ppls like most
Time skip is about 20-30 years ltr I've determined so, Ness did die when she was relatively young. (The circumstances of how she died are a plot device yes i will admit shush it isn’t terribly important sorry jklfdsjksfd)
I'm not the greatest at drawing aged characters so there you have it, Cassie and Gregory are in their late twenties early thirties.
Nessie knows it is a gamble to ask Y/n this favor. But, she's a worried big sis, being around Roxy and Freddy I bet would have softened her heart to the general idea of cryptids not being bad, and y/n doesn't seem to be bad atm. It could be a ghost that'll haunt watch over them, or Nessie's best friend can continue to be long distance buds with Nessie's new family.
And if Y/n was truly gone and all that remained was the vampire tendencies, by this point she has trust Gregory, Cassie, Freddy, and Roxy can keep each other safe. If it was truly a mistake to give y/n her trust.
So, that's why y/n hypes themself up and visits the graveyard when Gregory is there. And it did take a lot out of them but y'know I like the idea of y/n getting close with the gang.
It does make the next cryptid reunion a little weird.
Y/n & Eclipse: YOU DIDN'T MENTION VANESSA WAS A PART OF THE CREW NOW??
Freddy & Roxy: YOU NEVER TOLD US ABOUT VANESSA
Like, imagine both describing Vanessa in previous reunions, and NOW they're finding out it was the same person.
Vampire reveal set aside for later, this is y/n's newest reason to LIVE (mentioned earlier im gonna indulge on details down here)
They can't die yet! They still have memes to send to these kids! Jokes to tell! Series to make them binge with Y/n over a call! This is the gosh darn happiest Eclipse has seen them in decades!!
Flipping between seeing Gregory and Cassie as their nephew and niece and competing with Freddy and Roxy over the title of parent. Regardless of age. (they joke but Y/n never actually competes for the title, they are much too anxious of doing something wrong. Plus, Roxy and Freddy would be pretty tough to beat)
I also think it would be hilarious if Y/n sent out Eclipse with a chancla when Gregory does a Human Hero Complex goof up that painfully reminds y/n of their Human Hero Complex goof ups. He isn't allowed to make the same mistakes without consequence. And y/n WILL stay back in the bushes with goggles to SEE IT HAPPEN. Eclipse ain't worried abt y/n's mental state when they're too invested with their Nephew and Niece.
Gregory: We are adults.
Y/n: Yeah but you're also stupid humans who don't know when to quit.
Eclipse does get a chuckle they're now complaining so much abt human's having these stupid hero/martyr complexes when they were a human not so long ago themself lol
and
didn't mention before but
Y/n and Vanessa compared to Cassie and Gregory parallels that would could be explored.
ANYWAY (get an “anyway” tracker for this post 💀)
Cryptid Sightings doesn't have Cassie or Gregory in their cast of characters yet so (i think I mentioned this earlier but still), this could age. As of writing this, no reunion fic has been published. Might make a note of that if I release this after the fact. But still. Indulge with me in the hyjinks. I haven’t even begun on Freddy being a dad to y/n and possible Roxy dynamic with y/n lolll.
This au of an au of an au still has lots of angst to be explored like. Oh yeah, Gregory was controlled by Glitchtrap too and has a fuck ton of ptsd SINCE HE WAS TWELVE
Fun discussion for later at thanksgiving over zoom. One that Greg is just like: Can we get back to video games pls. now.
The bombshell that will be Y/n revealed to be a Vampire is still up in the air like I said earlier. But, y'know, it might go better this time.
Y/n hopes for that. Hopes. Funny, you haven't smiled this much in a while.
Vanessa's death hurts. Both of them were too young for their fates. It hurt especially when they were saying goodbye for the very last time. Nessie's death was coming and Y/n knew that, but at the same time. Y/n can focus on caring about people Nessie cared about. People Nessie trusted them to care for.
I like the idea of Y/n continuing to watch over and keep in contact with the people Nessie has impacted in some way. Nessie to Gregory and Cassie to whoever they inspire and have become their successors. And they got so much more they are looking forward to now. Knowing humans and sticking around them even digitally has its risks but I think it could be pretty grounding. They have even more dates to look forward to aside from halloween. Which, will be fun to celebrate with Gregory and Cassie fam.
They can't wait to do some more living.

Cryptid Sightings: The Lost Episode Part 2
FNAF Cryptid!Sun/Moon x Cryptid Hunter/Vampire!Y/N (SFW)
Your eye flutters at the dreaded desire. A touch of phantom claws ghosts the small of your back underneath your cloak. A faceplate slowly slides into view from behind, filling the soft storm with a crescent moon and pale eyes. Metallic fingertips slip under your chin. Moon holds you in place. His grin spins to one side, then the other, distracting you from the anxious matter on your mind.
Word Count: ~6,900 Warnings: Horror, blood, violence, angst, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempt, suicidal reader, death, and blood drinking.
A/N: With the completion of Cryptid Sightings, I want to return to this and add more angst to the already innumerable pile that is The Lost Episode. Plus, cryptid + cryptid is very fun to write.
Like the first chapter, this is dark and heavy. Please note the warnings/tags for this. Also, remember that this is not canon, it's just a side story to explore a very angsty 'what if' question of Y/N succumbing to the vampire bite and how Sun/Moon would react to you as a cryptid yourself. I don't want anyone upset or distressed over the subject matter so please proceed with caution.

Lochtopus
Tumblr media
“Octopus Skull” © Aubrey Morgan, accessed at her Redbubble page here
[Commissioned by @listmaker-lastcity. The Oklahoma Octopus is more urban legend than cryptid, as it is a mystery creature with no reported sightings or photographs. It is also a beast of the 21st century. The oldest reference I can find to it is in Michael Newton’s Encyclopedia of Cryptozoology from 2005. It got a big boost in popularity with the Animal Planet series Lost Tapes, every episode of which was a found-footage horror movie about some cryptid or other.
My version makes reference to the fact that the three lakes supposedly home to the Oklahoma Octopus are all man-made lakes dating back to the 20th century. The “explanation” for how an Oklahoma Octopus could exist call back to the Western Interior Seaway of the Cretaceous, and how some octopodes could supposedly have survived since then and evolved into freshwater organisms. Considering that no freshwater cephalopods have evolved in their 450 million year history, that explanation is only slightly more feasible than my “undead that remember the oceans that were once here” explanation for the PFRPG version.]
Lochtopus CR 12 CE Undead This rugose horror looks like an oversized human skull with eight tentacles growing from where the jaws should be. It is reddish brown in color and is the size of a horse.
A lochtopus is an undead horror created by the echoes of memories of ancient life. Many lands were once underwater, and the earth is embedded with fossils of marine creatures. If this land is first despoiled and then flooded to create an artificial lake or reservoir, a lochtopus may form from the tainted ground, taking the form of a tentacled creature growing from a death’s head. It seeks to kill the air-breathing creatures that mock it, squeezing the air from their lungs as it drags them into a watery grave.
As undead creatures, lochtopuses have no real place in an ecosystem. They tend to ignore wildlife and focus their attacks on sapient creatures, making their lakes havens for fish and birds. This attracts fishermen and hunters, whom the lochtopus then kills. The lochtopus can also imitate sounds, luring do-gooders towards cries for help. Its stony construction resists blows and ignores cold and electricity damage, but the sedimentary rocks that comprise its form are susceptible to acids. If a lochtopus is slain, but the wrong that desecrated the land goes uncorrected or unpunished, a new lochtopus will shortly form to replace the old.

Ep 201: The Disappearance of Frederick Valentich Part 3
“I am prepared to swear on oath or submit myself to any lie detector test to substantiate this, my statement.”
– Don Cox, who observed a triangle-shaped UFO for 45 minutes from his yard in Adelaide, 385 miles northwest of Valentich’s last known location, just 28 minutes after his radio fell silent.
Description:
As we wrap up our coverage of the Frederick Valentich story in Part 3 of our series, we'll continue our conversation with Melbourne resident Chris Tyler about his research into the case and other possibly related UFO incidents around the same time and area. We'll also examine the Australian Department of Transport accident report's remaining findings and discuss its conclusions. As you begin to reach your own conclusions, it's essential to keep several factors in mind which make the usual mundane explanations seem inadequate. The high number of independent sightings of aerial phenomena occurring in proximity to the disappearance suggests Valentich wasn't alone in witnessing it. The distance a Cessna cowling was found from a potential crash site and the lack of definitive markings makes its discovery inconclusive. Even if the cowling did come from Valentich's plane, it still doesn't account for what caused him to ditch, let alone other missing debris and Valentich himself. Perhaps the most surprising revelation comes from the summary of the report itself. Rather than dismissing the possibility of a UFO entanglement, an official government statement lists it as one of four likeliest scenarios. Remember that Valentich himself never suggested he interacted with a UFO in his last transmission, despite being painted as obsessed with them by his skeptics. When these factors and more are taken together, it's no wonder this incident is one of the most baffling and tragic in the phenomenon's history and leaves us all to wonder, what happened to Frederick Valentich and where did he go?
Location:
Moorabbin Airport, where Frederick Valentich took off from on October 21, 1978, headed for King Island across Bass Strait.

The Grafton Monster
Tumblr media
Grafton, Virginia is a small and quiet town, surrounded by rolling hills with a river cutting right through it. The small town is known for the first Mother’s Day, and recognizing memorial day the longest. There’s not much else to this town, except a terrifying story.
This is the story of the Grafton Monster.
The Grafton Monster, also known as the Headless Horror, is described as being huge, many described it at being about 7-9 feet tall and 4 feet wide. Many witnesses said it had white skin that seemed oily and slick, almost resembling a seals. The most odd feature though was the fact that the monster had no discernable head.
The first sighting was on June 16, 1964 when a local reporter was heading home. He was driving down the road that followed the Tygart River at around 11pm, when suddenly he spotted the strange creature. It was sitting on the grass to his right, it made no sudden movements but the reporter could tell it was in fact alive. The reporter quickly sped off, but once he arrived home he realized he should probably investigate this strange creature.
The reporter called on a couple of his friends and went to where he spotted the creature. Unfortunately once they arrived it was gone, only an indent in the ground remained. The men looked around but couldn’t find the creature itself or any footprints, only the indent where it sat. Notably, the entire time they searched they heard a low whistling sound. Many people believe that the creature made the sound, implying it was watching the men the whole time.
After the strange sighting the reporter first decided to report it to the police, who paid him no mind. He then decided to publish an article about the creature, trying to include all the details of the sighting. There ended up being a small article published, unfortunately from a skeptical point of view. Though the point of view didn’t stop people believing in the creature. Multiple people reported seeing the creature, and many decided to arm themselves and hunt for it.
Eventually the town of Grafton lost interest but the reporter never did, he decided to do some personal research and found there were multiple sightings of the creature going as far as 150 miles away. The most notable ones he found was a sighting in 1952 describing a large white creature the size of a washtub with no discernable head jumping up and down in the air. At the time the creature was associated with the Flatwoods Monster but doesn’t match the description of that monster at all. Another notable sighting was reported a week later, another man reported seeing the monster 30 miles away in Morganton, West Virginia. Also at one point another man reported seeing a similar creature in the woods several times, that it didn’t seem to be afraid of any weapons or animals, and just left humans alone. The strange thing is this was all the way in Missouri.
There were a few more sightings, but eventually the reporter gave up after facing so much ridicule and apparently refuses to talk about it today. Eventually the Grafton Monster got more attention in 2014 on an episode of Mountain Monsters, apparently a farmer had sent in a video of a strange creature that closely resembled the Grafton Monster. The men on the show tried to find evidence but ultimately found nothing concrete. The Grafton Monster once again garnered attention in 2018 when Fallout 76 was announced and that it would have multiple cryptids from West Virginia.
There are multiple theories about what exactly the Grafton Monster is. One of the first was presented by the newspaper that published the first article, stating that the reporter probably mistook the monster for a lady who carries white boxes on a cart. It’s reported that there was a lady who did that in Grafton, but it isn’t explained why she would be doing that in the middle of the night alongside a river. Another suggestion that it was simply an escaped cow and the reporter was too tired to realize what it was.
A number of people believe that it was simply a hoax done by the reporter to get attention and that he was just copying the stories of earlier cryptids in West Virginia, though he did believe in what he saw even after facing an enormous amount of ridicule.
A popular theory that it was an extraterrestrial creature, though there are arguments as to what kind. Some people believe it was intelligent and was for some reason studying life on earth. One investigator suggested that the creature was merely supposed to test how livable earth is, similar to how humans send animals to outer space. The investigator suggested that the whistling noise was from an extraterrestrial aircraft coming to pick the creature up.
Another theory is that it was an interdimensional creature, able to move between our dimension and the next. This could explain why there wasn’t any footprints, that it literally was there one second and gone the next. Some investigators also suggest that the low whistling could be the sound of it hiding itself or moving on to another dimension.
Though whether or not the Grafton Monster is a lady carting around boxes or an alien test subject is up for you to decide!
