so far, nearly 3 weeks on from the inauguration of ram mandir, indian authorities have demolished as many masjids and/or madrasas.

30.01.24 - akhoonji masjid & madrasa in delhi, also destroying a cemetery, shrine and all the students’ belongings in the process.

01.02.24 - a madrasa in maharashtra despite facing opposition from local muslims and one day before its scheduled court appeal.

08.02.24 - a masjid & madrasa in uttarakhand. this comes one day after uttarakhand became the first state to pass the uniform civil code (x, x) which aims to apply a ‘hindu code’ to all indians, infringing on the rights of dalits, adivasis, sikhs, christians, buddhists and muslims (i.e. anybody non-hindu) to practice their religion/lifestyle. muslim women protesting the demolition were lathi-charged (beaten with sticks) by police, a shoot-on-sight order was given resulting in 6 muslims killed and 300+ injured in the riots that followed, a curfew was put in place during which hindutva mobs burned down muslim homes and businesses while shouting abuse at muslims.

as always, no prior notice was given and bjp used it’s gold-standard excuse for each demolition, citing ‘illegal encroachment’.

in addition to these masjid demolitions, indian authorities bulldozed 2 neighbourhoods (ghettos, really) in the same timeframe and also without prior notice:

01.02.24 - jasola slum, which, having been around for at least 16 years, should not have been demolished without providing alternative housing, as the delhi slum policy states for slums which came up before 2015. obviously, housing hasn’t been provided.

06.02.24 - panchsheel nagar in mumbai which, having been around since 2011, entitled residents to paid rehabilitation, which has also not been given. this has left over 110 families homeless.

the demographic of both neighbourhoods, surprise surprise, is overwhelmingly muslim, buddhist and dalit.

bjp is enjoying the cover it is receiving from israel’s genocide in palestine to do whatever it wants and is getting bolder by the day. this ‘bulldozer justice’ has been happening for years, but not at such a rapid rate as it is now.

In 2019, Tamil Nadu was second only to Uttar Pradesh when it came to hate crimes against Christians, according to statistics compiled by the United Christian Forum (UCF). A bulk of the hate crimes were recorded in BJP-ruled states or in states where the party has a strong presence. Tamil Nadu presents the only exception to this trend. According to UCF, there were 227 instances of hate crimes in Tamil Nadu between 2014 and 2022 in which Christian communities, pastors and churches were targeted by Hindutva extremists. The reports are based on the information collected by the UCF helpline, a toll-free number that was launched in January 2015 to help victims with legal remedies. The UCF report compiled a range of incidents involving disrupting prayers and attacking believers, attacking/abusing pastors and their family members, and vandalising churches.

An estimated 500,000 people—that's half a million people—are beggars in India. Furthermore, this is the case even though it is illegal to beg in the majority of Indian states. Beggars can be broadly divided into two groups. The ones who are compelled to beg because they have no other option and the ones who have perfected the craft and profit handsomely from it.

Although there are cases of destitution, begging is frequently done by members of organised gangs. Each beggar gives their earnings to the gang leader in exchange for the right to beg in a specific area, and the ringleader keeps a sizable portion of the money. In an effort to obtain more money, beggars have even been known to purposefully harm and deform themselves.

Furthermore, a lot of kids are kidnapped in India and made to beg. The figures are concerning. The Indian National Human Rights Commission estimates that up to 40,000 children are kidnapped annually. Over ten thousand of them are still unaccounted for. Furthermore, it is reported that 300,000 youngsters in India are coerced into beggining, beaten, and given drugs on a daily basis. The human trafficking cartels run a multimillion dollar industry. Because they frequently believe that the children are with family or other acquaintances, police rarely take action to address the issue. In addition, the legislation regarding the treatment of juvenile panhandlers is inconsistent. Too young for punishment, many are.

India has done a great deal of humanitarian work, with varied degrees of success, to try and reduce begging. This effort has included giving jobs to beggars. The most frequent issue is that beggars would much rather not work since they are so accustomed to begging. Furthermore, a lot of them earn more money by begging than they would from working.

If you engage in these kinds of actions in the name of a religion or in accordance with an astrologer's advice, you will not benefit. You must manage your finances wisely or you will bear the blame for any crimes that occur. You should educate yourself about animals suffer through the vegan movement before misuse milk. Because you are a human, you ought to exercise reason. Time has changed and your emotions are being utilized well. Be smart and have a courage to face the reality and change you habit accordingly to save poor animals and humans and nation.

Coimbatore is the Hindutva laboratory of Tamil Nadu and stronghold of the Hindu Munnani. Coimbatore topped the Kongu region with 42 incidents of hate crimes, according to the UCF report. While the city has traditionally seen extreme communal violence between Hindus and Muslims, anti-Christian violence is a relatively new phenomenon in Coimbatore. And the Munnani is at the forefront of this campaign. The Munnani has one person designated to keep a watch on the Christian community in every neighbourhood of the city, said the organisation’s Coimbatore South district secretary, Govindraj Natarajan. “We have designated Hindu Munnani members in all the 100 wards in Coimbatore. We immediately get to know when a non-Hindu takes residence in any ward in the city. We know if they are involved in conversion or just leading normal lives.” The police, who are aware of these ward-level watchers, say that they are highly trained. “You will rarely see them in the forefront when violence breaks out. They are not in it to become leaders of agitations. Their role is to work quietly in the community and provoke violence rather than participate in it,” said the senior police officer in Coimbatore.
