After the war against the Dead ended and the Necromancer was defeated, the new Emperor built his capital city at the south end of the continent, in the mountain valley where the survivors had gathered and banded together in the final battle for their survival.
Radiance, it was called, named for the Crown (and the power) that turned the tide. Generation by generation, it grew and spread from valley to valley.
