just thinking about matt's description from the campaign wrap-up of what the nein returning the beacon was like for essek as being like, "you've killed someone. you think you've gotten away with and then some randos show up and they found a BOOT in your front yard and they're like, 'hey! look what we found!'"

The first conversation with the Bright Queen, Lythir’s revelation that he was one of the people they fought when they first got to Xhorhas, it’s just so good.

Twelve things I noted about CR2E56 “The Favor” and the Talks Machina about it :
Sam's "endorsements" for his D&D Beyond Presidential Campaign are so fucking funny, because you got Aimee Carrero, who in 2 years will herself be in Critical Role, and LIKE HALF THE VOICES OF THE CAST OF THE LEGEND OF VOX MACHINA. Sam is really too powerful.
To be honest, I was really surprised to see another follower of the Traveler. Unlike the group, I knew he was real, but the way Jester talked about it was like a minor deity long forgotten has taken a liking in her, and she was the only follower but it was enough to sustain the god because of her intense faith (I imagined the thing like in the Discworld book, Small Gods).
Caleb, talking about Yussa and his teleportation spell : "He gave me a back door, and told me : when I--" Laura, as Jester, interrupting to ask a genuine question : "Is that like a--" Everyone else, knowing she is Laura Bailey with a mind of a 12 years old, fully expecting her to do a dirty joke : "Ok, Laura, calm down !!!" For once she was not !!
Lady Elios definitely thinks they're weird and maybe spies. When she offered personnal passage to the Bright Queen, I was a little worried. No way a sucessful mission in another city of the Dynasty gets them an appointment stat with the ruler of the realm !
Since Taliesin was sick, Matt came in as Caduceus, and his voice was great ! Marisha said he went "a little bit of Elvis" at one point, and it"s hilarious to hear them talk about voices and accents.
Jester gets on people's nerves like nobody else. And also in people's hearts, should they choose so.
OH FUCK
you know this is good when Matt looks completely BEFOUNDLED by their choices
Sam : "We gave a nuke to the bad guys ! The good guys ???! We gave a nuke to someone !!"
Travis, holding a map of the Empire : "This map covers the areas that we've just declared war with. We are (he points somewhere small on the far-east) on this part of the map. This is us ! (he points to 90% of the map) That ! No longer safe for us."
Fuck, I didn't think about one of the implications Liam said ! Somebody in the throne room was maybe the one working with the Cerberus Assembly...
I agree with Marisha and Liam. This was a game-changer episode. This was an event that will have repercussion on the world and their lives will forever be changed. Oh !! this is exciting.

beau: you know what my mom used to always tell me?
fjord: no
beau: if you ask, the worst they can do is say no. and throw you in an imperial prison. and you'll never see your family again. that's the worst that can happen!
nott: that's happened to at least three of us

they literally still have the freaking beacon right? and they’re delivering it directly to the bright queen now???? they could make this extremely beneficial to them with some good persuasion checks, but they also could get killed On The Spot for having it without a good explanation. HOly shit the high stakes of taking this goddamn basketball is CATCHING UP to them
