Nabokov used an informal style of Russian cursive to write in English. Here is a picture of entries in his travel journal, where he wrote in both languages—you can see the characteristics that carry over from Cyrillic to Latin.

hi:) Where can I read more about the mental health impacts of spaceflight on cosmonauts/astronauts? They always seem so capable and enjoying every moment when they're in space and I really envy that... I know that people like Buzz Aldrin struggled when coming back from space/the Moon because it was such an incredible experience, he felt that nothing else in his life would ever give him that same feeling of awe (magnificent desolation). People always talk about the physical impacts of spaceflight after coming back to earth, but no one really seems to talk about the mental/psychological aspects...

Space Physiology by Jay C Buckey is obviously a great one and covers EVERYTHING in the body in-depth. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find open access of this book since I left college, but I'd definitely give Sci-Hub a try if you can.

Like I said already, I graduated high school this year. So naturally, because I'm somehow both lazy and busy at the same time, I don't draw anything for the occasion like I wanted to until the literal DAY before I start college. (Yeah, I'm not joking- my first day of college is tomorrow.)

Just because I've come this far since I joined Wattpad as a 7th grader doesn't mean I know how I did it. Oh, wait- yes I do. I do know. I guess I don't know my own brain. Anyway, it's because I had, and still do, a burning desire to reach out to you and tell you about all the silly little stuff I had on my mind. I also wanted to get to know people all around the cyber world who liked the same stuff I liked. (I hope I can find someone who does in my art college.) I wanted y'all to know that Unikitty and Minecraft: Story Mode were (and still are) my two most favorite things ever. For months, I begged my parents for it, and I eventually got it for Christmas. Over the years, I've come to like more shows, games and movies. I even realized that I liked doing musical theater, too. Since I joined Wattpad, I've expanded my posting to DeviantArt, this site, YouTube, and more.  I've probably told you all of this many times before, but I say it for a reason.

As I also said already, high school was as fun of an experience as it was... interesting. I couldn't finish my freshman year, and I missed my entire sophomore year, and if you survived 2020, you probably know why. I still passed, though. I think that junior and senior year made up for that. I was in the school musical both of those years, I got to attend my first prom junior year, and I went to Thespian Fest senior year.

Maybe the real high school experience was the friends we made along the way, as I've joked. But I wanted to surround myself with people I could get together with. As SpongeBob said, "I only want to hang out with my friends." And I did, 'cause we made every day the best day ever, especially the night we graduated. (The trampoline park we went to afterwards had some killer chicken tenders!) I took one of my friends to see Elemental before she went out of state for her college. I still keep in touch with a lot of them. Still, I'm really gonna miss everyone, and I wish them luck in their future endeavors.

As soon as school let out, my family took me on a trip to celebrate the fact that I graduated, and I made a video about it. You can watch it on my channel if you'd like.

But, I digress! There are a bunch of people here who I've just gotta show my gratitude for. You guys are part of why I keep going in life.

the suffix -naut means 'sailor'. the primary people who would navigate when this was coined would be sailors, traveling the far reaches of the water’s surface, where no one was able to walk before. 

then you had the creation of aquanauts, the prefix aqua- meaning water, people who would explore underwater, who dived using man made creations to explore the mysteries of the ocean's depths where people hadn’t been before. under water sailors. 

 then you had the aeronaut, the prefix -aero meaning sky/air. people who explored the skies. in hot air balloons, in blimps, in planes, exploring the far reaches of the skies, tens of miles above the ground where we could only have dreamt of seeing. sky sailors. 

and then the astronaut, less commonly cosmonaut, the prefixes -astro and -cosmo meaning stars, the world, outerspace. people who explore beyond our planet, as far of a reach in space as they can get to. people who walk among the stars and look down on a small blue marble called home. they're space sailors, sailors of the infinite cosmos. 

and it's just. 

a bit sweet to me, that they're called sailors, where it all started, the human urge to... to explore and find more, to see what we couldn’t before. it all started with wanting to explore where we could not walk. where we could not see. where we could only dream of going.

I think WALL-E would be surprised that you were feeling purposeless, because he thinks you’re awesome and are fulfilling your purpose just by existing as your awesome self. But he understands what it is to be lonely. So he would come over and see if you wanted company, and if you do, he would bring you some of the treasures he found that day and thinks are cool, and let you hold them and help him figure out what they do. And if you still needed cheering up, he would play “Put On Your Sunday Clothes” for you and dance a bit, and try to make you laugh. And he would stay there with you as long as you wanted his company, pointing out all the simple joys in life that make him happy - the warm glow of an old lightbulb, the satisfying pop of bubble wrap, a star peeking out from behind a cloud.

What about studying music do you feel most passionate about?

Music is a fundamental human behavior. There is not a single culture on the planet that doesn’t make some kind of music. Birds make nests, beavers make dams, apes make tools, and humans make music. It’s a behavior before it’s art or entertainment or media or anything else. It’s just a thing we do. 

That’s why having fun is the most important part of music in my opinion. Expression is important! Art is important! But if music isn’t fun to make, then something went wrong somewhere. 

I have some Thoughts on the professionalization of music. As few as a hundred years ago, making music was an activity! People would just get together and make music for fun! Yes, they’d go and listen to other people play music, but it was just as common to make it on their own! But now music is often just a consumable thing, and not many people play music just for fun. 

I want music to be something everyone does for fun. 

I want people to enjoy making music for its own sake. 

I want people to stop apologizing for being tone deaf. 

I want everyone to sing more where other people can hear them. 

I want people to stop scoffing at the idea of bringing a guitar to a party (note: this does require that the person with the guitar have intentions outside of becoming the center of attention).

I want music lessons and community choirs and jam bands and shapenote singing to become something everyone can do, not just kids or retired people. It should become a behavior again, not something that has to be a Calling. I think we lost something when music became a Professional Career and Commodity instead of just a fun thing we all do! 

Let’s just have fun doing music again!!!
